July 22nd my husband and I were suppose to pick up a mini van from this location. I even called several times to check to make sure everything was good to go. . . To our surprise they had changed the mini van to a full size van the day before. The manager was so rude, and extremely unhelpful. She acted like it was our problem and even blamed AAA for the error. According to the email that AAA sent them for the reservation, it has the correct vehicle. To make matters worst we ended up having to call other locations before she even got the idea. She was horrible, and took no responsibility, nor tried to be helpful with finding us something else for our family vacation. We ended up having to take 2 cars since it was so last minute. I was so angry, and disappointed at her response smh
Stay away. Customer service is a zero here with no communication or understanding of how customer service works. Telling a customer you will call back - twice- and then nothing - no communication whatsoever. Getting a confirmation from Hertz for the next morning. Taking time from work - finding a ride - arriving at the location - only to be told there is no car. Umm do ya think it would have been logical to let a confirmed customer know? ZERO. Stay away - they really don’t know what they are doing. There is not even any communication between a confirmation and the location. Did I say stay away? I went to Enterprise and they were on top of it. I received a phone call immediately and they confirmed me right on the spot.
Booked two reservations, only got there to be told I only have one reservation: lady was very rude. She didn’t offer no help at all. Looked at me like what? She point blank told me that’s the only car they have so I should deal with it after she offered me a small size. Very unprofessional. She didn’t show any sign of wanting to help. Please stay away from this location.
This is my second time renting through Hertz and I must say both times have been quick and easy. The manager handled my rental this time and she went above and beyond to make sure I was accommodated. Excellent customer service!! Clean cars too!! Many thanks!

This place should be closed forever. The people that work at the counter looked like they got off bed, didnt fix their wigs and walked into work without proper hygiene. They didnt call to let me know they didnt have a car for me but i booked two days prior. They didnt even express any empathy at all. They even have the audacity to have an attitude towards me.
This is the worst hertz rental place ever !! I strongly recommend y’all to not rent any cars from here. You will regret renting a car from here. The way they talk to customers was very rude.
Literally the worst service I have ever received. Every single job I have ever had, you are expected to throughly explain to customers what to expect and EVERYHING needed for their service. Not only (after speaking to employees several times about the reservation) did they tell me that everything for my reservation was in line, but they also only tell you half of their expectations. Then, the day of my reservation, I get a call saying that they dont have the car that I reserved and that I have to substitute the car with one that doesnt meet my needs. I made the reservation MONTHS ago....my mind is blown at their unprofessionalism

The Branch Manager, Vera, was extremely helpful and understanding of our our need to get a rental car ASAP (due to our personal vehicle being a total loss). All rental car locations were out of rental vehicles in our area (Burlington) and I called her office and she had one of her representatives drive a vehicle down to Burlington for us, so we wouldn’t have to make the trip to GSO. I highly recommend anyone to speak to Vera (Branch Manager), she’ll accommodate you by any means necessary.

Please save time and hassle by choosing a different car rental service. I made a reservation a week prior and they did not have a car available during my reservation time. Waited from 8am and AAA went ahead and cancelled at 12:37pm due to the location never getting a vehicle for me. I went ahead and made reservation with Enterprise for pick up at 1pm at the Gate City Location. Went straight there and picked up a rental without issues! Also the Hertz at the airport would not honor the reservation rate I already had in place and wanted to charge an extra $120.00! NEVER AGAIN!

I WILL NEVER RENT HERE!!!!!!!Really wish I could give this place ZERO STARS!!!. I dont know whom I spoke to this morning but she was very unprofessional and in my opinion did not care for the customers needs. The only reason why I even called this establishment was because my car needed to get some work done on it and State Farm sent my information to Hertz. So I called this morning to confirm that they have my reservation and to schedule a time to pick me up from the body shop next week. As soon as the lady answer the phone as I was in mid-sentence she interrupts me and says I need to hold on. I was being put on hold for about 8 or 9 minutes then she comes back on the line I try to explain to her again that I need to schedule a pickup she then puts me back on hold for an additional 10 minutes until the phone cuts off I was literally on hold for almost 20 minutes. While Im on hold Im also calling her on my other phone with no response. I called again finally got a hold of her I was able to try to make arrangements but she didnt seem like she was interested she also didnt want to look up my confirmation information which worries me. Because of this treatment I called State Farm and had them cancel this reservation and I decided to go with Enterprise because I never have problems with them. I dont know who that was on the other line but they need to either be retrained or removed. And before the owner decides to respond to this make sure you put into action what the next steps are dont just apologize.
Talked to someone named Kamaya or something like that this morning (December 22, around 8am). She seemed annoyed at my questions and even interrupted my questions several times, as if I was frustrating her. This is my first time renting a car and I was inquiring about acceptable methods of payment and what type of cars available. I don’t know who this person is, but she completely turned me off of ever purchasing a Hertz rental. Not for this vacation or ever in the future.
Worst experience ever, rude, gave me a car that I drove 2mls.car had no power steering fluid, went straight back,gave me a worse car that had a broken belt in tire, ask for a safe car but said no. Went to High Point which was 45 min.out and they were professional and wonderful.
Service is below par. Car is not ready at checkout. Gas tank are not full, nor does the agent tell you its not full. Closes a few minutes early and opens a few minutes late. This location needs better management.
The rates for the vehicle were great my only problem was the vehicle was not clean
Ran out of cars even though a reservation was in place. Supposed to have an SUV but ended up with a compact Kia. In Hertz defense they called two days later to offer SUV but could not get there till the next day as they close early and no SUV would be guaranteed when I came in. The younger guy who helped(Brett or Brent) me out was friendly and apologetic. That is why I gave it an additional star otherwise it would be a one star.

Horrible service I just never understood running a credit check just to rent a car.After being denied clerk just gave me slip then went on a smoke break.Clerk never showed any empathy and never even discussed any other options I can take.My trip was almost cancelled because of them. I went to enterprise and was in and out in less than 5 minutes with a rental vehicle. I will never ever try to rent from Hertz again it will just be a waste of time
Unprofessional, rude, not what you need when dealing with car problems. You will be better off at enterprise.
Second Post:At this I cannot post any comment about Hertz rental of Greensboro NC, and State Farm ins by request of my Lawyer. Therefore until this problem is solved I have know comments.First post:I gave Hertz a 1 star not because of the service, but because they dont have enough staff working. When we arrived there was six people waiting to pick up a rental. We were only there to return the rental. My family, and I waited two hours just to give staff the keys, and get a receipt. There were only three people working that I could tell. There was the young man who was cleaning the cars getting them ready as soon as the car was cleaned it was rented out. The manager which was taking calls, working up front, renting out cars, taking the customers to their rental, and he was also cleaning the rentals. The third staff was doing the same. While waiting in the Lobby it was steady filling up with customers. People where getting impatient some where complaining because they had been there for hours. Hertz ran out of cars to rent out. There where two of us returning keys which gave them two cars to rent out. There was a man who was still standing waiting for service, but they had to put us ahead of him in order to have cars to rent out.Hertz should be ashamed of how their staff is being over worked it was very upsetting. My question to who ever decide to read this post. How would you feel if you had to go to work dress nice in a shirt and tie to find out that you have to wash cars.Second Post: At this time I cannot post any comment about state farm by request of my Lawyer. There for until this problem is solved I have know comments.

I recently had to go through Hertz because of an accident. First, when I picked up the car I had to wait for them to get a car ready. Then, they tell me that a Kia Rio is not consider a economy car which Enterprise and State Farm do consider those car as economy, so they charged me the higher price (fine). I asked for the paperwork from the young lady, but was told that information have to go to State Farm, so I assumed since it is a rental through my insurance I did not need the documents (lesson learned). If you pay for the insurance, you have all rights to all documents! After returning the car on 11.27.2019, they did not close out the contract until a month later, so they charged me again of $86 stating because it looks as if I did not turn in the car, but it will drop off (not the point). First, the original per-authorization was $65, so how can you come in and charge $86? Even, the corporate office could not understand the charges, so how does a corporate office not understand their billing or do they know this office is stealing from the customers and do not care? They are very fraudulent and the customer service is very horrible. Customers beware...I will never go through Hertz again and I told my insurance company, if I have to ever rent a car again, I whether go through Enterprise any day! Maybe Hertz need to know who is representing them in these Franchises because they are making them look like crooks!

If I could rate them a negative i would. They charged us $300 for damage free for finding ashes in the seat. We has 5 kids in the car all weekend and we dont smoke. We will be renting from somewhere else from now on.

Bad experience. I had a prepaid rental over a weekend (Thursday to Monday). I went to pick-up the vehicle and had to wait over an hour for them to get it ready. Being a gold member, I am accustom to having my car waiting for me. BUT that is not the reason for the 1-star review. They were nice enough to offer to take a day off the rental. Sounds great. Except they processed the agreement manually which meant I wasnt given my discount CDP code from AMEX and the total ended up being $14 dollars MORE than my original prepaid rental. In short: I wanted an hour for them to have the car ready and it ended up costing me extra money. Ill guess Ill have to stick to the airport location or Avis for my future rental needs. Good grief.
When we first walked in, no one was even at the front desk. We waited at for over 5 minutes until someone came in from outside. The experience went downhill from there. We experienced some frustration due to being given wrong information by both hertz & our insurance company, and the attendant was visibly annoyed at us. He made no attempt to use any customer service skills to mediate the situation. The attendant was INCREDIBLY rude & interrupted my mother as she was trying to speak. She apologized for raising her voice, and said that he had been rude. He began to yell at her that he “wasn’t rude” over and over. I mentioned to my mother that I believed we may have other options, and he shoved my ID back in my face. Do not go here. What an incredibly rude human being. I don’t know how he sleeps at night going around being a complete jerk to other people. He definitely needs a job NOT in the customer service industry. Maybe in a closet somewhere. Cleaning toilets. Where he has no interaction with other humans.
I had to go here for an accident definitely not my 1st choice. The manager has a last word for everything and doesnt know the first thing about customer service. The other employee there is just as lost and Im just grateful this whole situation is over. Terrible through and through. They are clueless to what is going on and when you try to correct they are quick to correct you and thats the manager. The airport in NC seems to be the best when it comes to getting a good quick assistance with rental service without the hassle.
Bad unprofessional
I reserved a vehicle and when I went to pick it up they informed me that in order to use a debit card, they had to check my credit. I took an Uber to the branch so basically I was stranded. They should post a visible disclaimer before accepting reservations so that people will not be inconvenienced. I shouldve followed my gut and went with Enterprise.
Complained once, tried to email the manager (Justin) back at the link he sent us here and it was invalid, then the email it gave me for technical errors was also invalid, just sent it back to me saying it allowed for 0GB to be sent to that email.To sum it up,we arrived 20 minutes before our scheduled pick up time. Were treated like we didnt even exist for 30 minutes. When we were helped we had to tell the guy why we were there, after another 20 minutes he took my card, ran it for no reason and walked away with it for 10 minutes. Came back gave me my card, charged me the deposit. Waited another 30 minutes for the car just to walk around the building to see him talking to another employee and not doing anything.Back up cam/GPS screen continuously froze the entire trip making it impossible to drive, screen would not turn off when frozen even if car was off. Wiper fluid light came on immediately after turning car on, oil change alarm when off every 5 minutes we were driving because it was taken care of before we got the car. Hertz does not care about its customers, I wasted my money and time here. Will not use again
The associate I spoke with was pushy and rude. He rushed me into the car after I had asked to know what vehicles were available with the price breakdown. He just said this is what car your getting. We go out to car he tries to rush us through looking at exterior for any current damage/scratches. I have rented vehicles before so I am fully aware that I should take pictures of all exterior/interior damage. The associate tells me to not take pictures and that he will. He opens the driver door then turns car on to show mileage then rushes us back inside. The associate hands me his cell phone to answer questions regarding the cleanliness of the interior of the car. At this point this guy hasnt even tried to show me the interior. So before answering the question, I request to take a look inside the car. I go to take a look and there are stains all through the back seats, and both front seats, stains on roof, missing floor mats, purple glitter everywhere and used fake eyelashes laying in floorboard by drivers seat. There was an funny odor coming from the car. The oil change sticker was well overdue. He got an attitude when I said the checkout took more than 10 minutes, then pushed into saying I felt like a valued customer. Because I did not, just didnt want to receive more attitude from the male associate checking me out. Overall this experience was awful and I dont recommend renting from this location. Lets hope that their other locations have some better customer service.
Customer service here is terrible. I will never ever go back. Because of their poor communication skills my bank account was charged hundreds of dollars more than I expected and it was incredibly difficult to get my money back. I even spoke to the lady that set up my rental and she stated “I can’t give you a refund because I gave you what you asked for”. I told her I would never ask for anything I can’t afford. She didn’t even at least apologize for giving me the wrong information. She obviously didn’t care.
Buyer beware, Enter at Your Own Risk!! We had a reservation for a midsize SUV pick at 11am. When we arrived at 11:30 the clerk said they didnt have a SUV ready and if we wanted a smaller vehicle. 🙄 Once we asked that the establishment please honor our reservation and get us a SUV we had to wait over and hour to get our vehicle. For approximately 40 minutes of the time we sat and waited no was at the desk and the one employee couldnt answer any questions about anything. 😠This is the second time weve rented in Greensboro and both times were really poor experiences. Im starting to wonder if any rental agency in the city trains their employees in how to do their job and what customer service means. SMH 👎🏿👎🏿

Terrible service!! Do not use them We reserved a car and when we showed up to pick it up no body was at the building and no one picked up the phone. We got multiple confirmation emails, but when we called to tell them they told us it was our fault.
Called at 5:45 to ask location to pick up a rental they informed they were about to close. I said ok well I will be there first thing when you open tomorrow what time will that be. I arrived as soon as they opened and was informed they as no cars available and wouldnt be available for another four hours. Confused at not being informed of this when I called right before closing I asked what I should do they informed me I could wait around until 4. There were 3 employees and no cars and none of them bothered to help me look for other hertz locations I had to do that myself.
This is the only location my husband uses, he likes the staff and has a good rapport with them
Get everything in writing that they tell you along with the normal paperwork you receive from Hertz. The vehicle was great no worry with performance.
I reserved a vehicle online and when I went to pickup the vehicle I was told they dont even have those kind of cars even though its avertised on their site, so I was given the car they chose and of course the price was different. Im going back to Enterprise. Also the black man with locs was very rude and loud with a customer the entirer time I was there. The customer service is as bad as the décor at that location.
I went to pick up the car I reserved a month ago. They didnt have a car ready at my pick up time even after they commented about how long ago I made the reservation. They gave me a filthy old car with no spare tire. They gave me a small refund for the state of the car, but had a line about why there was no spare. Not looking forward to diving this car long distance for a week thats for sure. Staff was okay, but not great and there were multiple people complaining about their cars while I was there. Ill never use this location for renting a car again, and Ill think twice about using Hertz.
Very friendly helpful employees, fast service, great raits and you dont have to have major credit card as long as you have a debit card.

Limited selection. Only one vehicle available when I arrived for pickup and it was a full size sedan, not the upgrade I had requested. I had no options since I needed transportation.

Absolute bushleague service at this location. Gave me a b.s story that because I arrived at 4:38p (38 mins late) for my pickup, my reservation isnt valid and they dont have a car for me. Hertz corporate said that isnt a policy. Then, the associate said its their policy NOT to call customers to inform them of this lack of inventory... also not a policy per corporate. Finally the joker highly recommended I try to rent elsewhere, because the wasnt likely that a car would be returned prior to their 6p close.Weaksauce all around Hertz! I cancelled my familys trip and well just keep it local for the weekend. Thanks for LITERALLY nothing...oh except for absolute waste of 3.5 hours of my day dealing with you shmucks and the corporate service team.
Will NEVER use again . Received a rental from Hertz through my insurance and the vehicle had a nail in the tire. Tried to have the problem corrected but was told I would have to pay for repair. No way... For 3 weeks that I had this vehicle I had to go put air in the tire each time I drove it. On top of what my insurance paid over 600.00 I had to pay an additional 190+ dollars. Jeez this place is not good on my opinion.
Unreasonable wait time. There was one person checking out when I arrived, and it took nearly 1 hour before the vehicle was pulled around. Very unexpected and inconvenient!

Worst experience I have ever had with a company. They gave me a very dirty car that stunk and I could barely see through the windows. They also charged me double the quote they gave me for insurance. I feel that this is not a quality company and will not be using them again.

The rudest person check me in took a phone call while I was checking in and would not wait 30 seconds for a customer who arrived 30 seconds after 6 o’clock I was still in the store they would let them in the door her fingernails were so long she couldn’t barely operate the telephone or a keypad or the computer then dropping off the car the same issue I came in a door in the back that was wide open and you know they freaked out that I came in the back door even though it was open I didn’t even have to open it I just walked right in and open door these two women are so rude that I will never come back to this location ever again and I don’t think I will rent from hurts when there’s other options around
