This hotel was perfect for us! The rooms are large, clean, nice linens -even loved the pillows! The bathroom with separate dressing area made it so convenient as we were preparing for a more formal event. I cant say enough about the staff - so accommodating, so friendly and so professional! The outdoor space is a courtyard that is just beautiful. I wish I could have spent more time there. We even used the hotel bikes for the nearby trail and the bikes were fantastic. And how about the Green Valley Grill? Amazing food and a lovely outdoor patio. I would not hesitate to eat all meals here! I dont envision us being in Greensboro again but if we are we will definitely stay here.

We got married at the O. Henry and it was absolute perfection. The cloister garden, the hotel with its cool theme and vehicles, and the amazing food at The Green Valley Grill combine to make it a wise choice for anyone planning a wedding or large event.For us now, its a wonderful anniversary getaway that makes us think of our wedding. We had the best stay this past weekend and I want to point out one theory I have as to why. Everywhere else we went in town was showing obvious signs of struggling to adequately staff their facilities. Even Natty Greens was closed on Saturdays. But The O. Henry and GVG had full staff and they were completely gracious all around the entire weekend. No one seemed undertrained or overwhelmed and no one seemed surly. This is likely a sign of employees being treated well. As the sign says, its employee-owned. We were very impressed! Their COVID precautions were very good as well.Our experience was amazing all around, especially the meals. Our suite (311) was perfect and we couldnt be happier with the stay.

We went for a high tea and it was fabulous. Our first high tea experience in Greensboro. I took my husband for a surprise birthday high tea and he loved it. We tried Ceylon Tea and it was perfect as always. Ceylon Tea is always the best when it comes to Tea. They also brought a cupcake with a birthday candle to my husband and it was very nice of them. all the bakery products they gave were full of flavor and we loved every piece.

Our room was warm and inviting. Very well stocked with tea, coffee, soaps, pillows etc. Everything we needed to relax. We also ovLoved the food. Great stay.

The O.Henry Hotel is an amazing place to stay and relax from the lobby to the restaurant to the rooms to the pool. We only live 45 minutes away and this is our getaway when we need a little break. And I have to mention Taylor, who is just fabulous!!

The O. Henry never disappoints. Not only do they have the same high quality and standards as pre-COVID, it seems they have taken the time to improve on pretty much everything. The rooms are nicely upgraded, the food is right on point (especially the crab dip), the afternoon tea now offers delicious seasonal selections. The hotel itself is impeccably clean and everyone who works there is kind. They go out of their way at every chance. I cant wait to go back!

Came for a “girls” trip” with my mother and sister. Beautiful hotel! The rooms were comfortable and quiet. There was a problem with a smoke alarm going off in my Mom’s room and the management was genuinely concerned and made things right. The food and service were excellent! We plan on coming back for another stay!

This is our go-to hotel in Greensboro - always impeccably clean, with a great restaurant attached. We were late to arrive, and wanted a table in the bar for dinner. The manager at the desk was able to arrange it for us - great service! Thanks.

Up until recently, we had only ever eaten at the Green Valley Grill (also excellent), but that changed in July. Like the sister hotel (Proximity), service is outstanding and the amenities are top notch. Where the Proximity is very modern and airy, the O. Henry is traditional and heavy - it definitely adds to the romance.

We had an excellent stay at O. Henry hotel. I travel a lot and comfort/cleanliness are very important to me. This place that makes me feel like I’m home away from home. Their service is outstanding from check-in to check-out, their rooms are extra cozy and well-maintained, and their food at GVG is nothing short of amazing. It really is all in the details. It is so rare to find a hotel that cherishes each guest the way they do. I am so impressed with my experience, I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I can’t wait to stay here again and again!

Great place, friendly staff and amazing food. The hummus is by far the best Ive had in Greensboro. The parmesan crusted chicken is amazing, as well as the ribs.

I was fortunate enough to stay at the very fancy O. Henry Hotel due to the ice storm that caused power to go out for thousands and it had to be Valentines weekend!! They made it such a pleasurable stay! From the atmosphere and the cleanliness during such a difficult time in the world, the pleasant and very informative and concerned staff, and the going over and beyond was just awesome and made you feel so at home! If I could, I would pack up my life and stay there forever! I was overall very pleased and will definitely be visiting again, possibly for my wedding which is June 5, 2021!!!! To ALL your staff, I do appreciate your hospitality, and kindness and wish you all much success in life!!! I wouldnt change a thing!!!

My wife and I had a free night one weekend away from our young kids. She asked me if we could stay at the O. Henry Hotel. Both of us have lived in Greensboro in prior times in our lives, and we knew that the O. Henry had a reputation for being classy and ritzy, just what we needed to enjoy a brief period of respite from our daily active family and work life.I did some checking on the usual travel sites which gave me prices $30-$50 over the prices on their website. Tip: book your stay directly with the hotel and you will get a better price and maybe can find yourself enjoying a special package like my wife and I did!While the hotel is situated right across the street from Friendly Shopping Center and the surrounding outside environment feels retail, the hotel is beautiful on the inside and you dont feel like youre in the middle of a shopping mall. The foyer has O. Henrys famous story The Gift Of The Magi embedded and wrapping around the high walls. Tea time can be reserved in this room every afternoon.The room we stayed in had a very comfortable king bed, some chairs and an antique feeling love seat. The bathroom is huge with an enormous tub and a walk in shower. All the amenities were provided for our stay. My wife commented that the little vials of soap and shampoo and lotion were a high quality name brand (I dont remember the name off hand, but it did the job!). Two terry cloth robes were provided in the closet along with plenty of hangers for our nicer clothes.We had drinks at the bar downstairs in the afternoon and had made reservations for dinner and breakfast the next day. The food was delicious and classy. The drink menu is wide with variety--everything from pages on pages of wine options, to a decent cocktail and beer selection, to a variety of special coffee options. My wife ordered a latte that she said was delicious. I had a blackberry mojito to pair with the Duck Breast entree I ordered. We splurged and ordered the romantic dessert tray for our time after dinner.Check out was at 12pm, which was great as it gave us time to enjoy breakfast, get cleaned up, and then packed up without feeling rushed.This is a great option if youre looking to splurge a bit for a welcome night of rest and relaxation!

I love this place wholeheartedly. The vibe is so elegant and classy and I can stay here all the time. The rooms arent so impressive but the food and atmosphere make up for that.

Aug. 3rd was the first time Ive stayed at The O.Henry Hotel. I had cataract surgery earlier that day and wanted to stay in GSO overnight for my follow-up surgeons visit on the 4th. Because of COVID, I wanted to be sure I was staying at the right place. I am SO happy that I chose the O.Henry! Our room was VERY clean, every employee we came into contact with went above & beyond to help us. We are two senior citizens living on a social security income; we had to give the cost of the room much thought because of our circumstances. Again, we made the best choice! My second surgery is Aug. 31st and we plan to try and stay at the O.Henry again.

Amazingly decorated and built hotel but really was overpriced for what you get. Wouldn’t go out of my way again to stay here. But I did enjoy the property.

A truly outstanding experience! The O.Henry is one of the finest hotels at which I have ever had the pleasure of staying and I travel all over the world. My wife and I spent the end of our honeymoon at the O.Henry, and we could not have had a more wonderful time. The room was stunning, luxurious, and well appointed for extended use. The service was truly top notch - everyone on staff whether from the front desk, room service, breakfast and tea was kind, professional, knowledgeable, efficient, and very accommodating. Both breakfast and afternoon tea were tasteful and delicious - I highly recommend making reservations for both. In the evening, we had dinner at their sister hotel where the food, service and ambiance were again truly outstanding. I cannot say enough about the O.Henry hotel and recommend it with my highest endorsement.

LOVELY STAY!! Weve now stayed at both the sister property (PROXIMITY) and the OHenry Hotel. They are both wonderful places to stay with some differences. First, and foremost, you will not beat the reopening specials they run--very substantial food credits for stays of 1-3 nights--details on their website. Its truly an astounding deal to stay 3 nights, get a fair price on the room rate AND get a $300 room rate. WOW! Its stellar to just go down the elevator and be able to eat at the Green Valley Grill on site--we had two dinners and two breakfasts. GVG is a very nice restaurant, excellent selections, delicious food and great service. The single meal where something wasnt cooked as ordered, they did everything possible to make it right--I never hold a restaurant to perfection--something can be under or overcooked, it happens (in this case an overcooked steak). What I hold them to is how they accommodate when it happens. The server and manager were extremely kind and apologetic and they took care of things just perfectly! We missed the afternoon tea this time (next time well reserve ahead!). TIP--during the pandemic, weve found booking every meal ahead works great and we did that for this trip--PERFECT! The rooms at O Henry are smaller and less modern than Proximity though still comfortable and well appointed. Best suggestion--book a weekend and both, try them both out, and eat at GVG and Printworks Bistro at the Proximity hotel and take advantage of it all. These properties are fine places to enjoy a weekend (especially 3 nights with the food credit promotion they are offering). Thanks for a wonderful stay. Service was excellent across the board. The front desk took care of every need and went above and beyond to assist us during our stay. AGAIN, THANK YOU ALL!!

Wonderful place to dine. One of the greatest.

Okay so this place is gorgeous. I stayed last night for my girlfriends birthday. Took her to GVG and surprised her with a king suite in the hotel. Complaints: The pictures make the room seem bigger then it actually is, the bed was so hard that we could feel the springs through it and neither one of us slept, and the robes feel like burlap sacks. We really wanted to love this place... VERY fancy... but honestly for the almost $400 spent staying one night we were very disappointed. It wasnt worth it and we unfortunately will not stay again.

The Grill at the OHenry has a great brunch on Sundays. Sunday I had a flat bread with spicy meat and onions. Yummy

The entire experience at the Ohenry hotel was the best. I was impressed from the beginning when I spoke with Jimmy about accommodations, and everything was just as promised. The rooms were very spacious and elegant, and the bathroom was so beautiful that my wife and I wanted to take it home with us. Every staff member was professional and friendly, and our reservation at the Green Valley Restaurant was equally satisfying. The meal was delicious and our dinning was a highlight of our stay. We loved it all!

I have a lot of food allergies and they were way more accommodating than I expected. I’ve never had such a normal dining experiences so it was really special!

Took mom for their afternoon tea and it was a nice treat. The staff was pleasant and professional, with quick service. The seating is comfortable for lounging, but the cozy sofas and chairs are not really conducive to comfortably not spilling tea or nibbles. The food was decent (notably excepting the scones which were Phenomenal), and its a great deal for a full tea.

Very nice food it is a really elegant and peaceful restaurant, also the restaurant is good for families and couples. The rooms are decent still very comfortable beds and a Comfortable atmosphere.

This is a peaceful, relaxing, gem of Greensboro. From the elegant and understated check-in process and experience, to the absolutely beautiful room, and unspeakably delicious room service dining complements of the Green Valley Grill their in-house elegant restaurant, the entire experience staying here was one of restful atmosphere and true quality.Our only suggestion for next time would be to replace the mattress in our room, which had begun to show its age with a depression in the center.The staff and hotel experience are first rate and should absolutely be commended. Highly recommend, and we will assuredly be back!

As soon as I arrived. We went to the front desk and We did not have reservations. The sweet lady at the front desk Cassandra said she would be glad to help. They have a great package that has the room and credit towards dinner at the Green Valley Grill. We mentioned previously we arrived too late and was not able to get into the restaurant for dinner. Cassandra called the restaurant and they were full. She persisted and made sure we were able to get in and then asked us to call after getting to the room. Without even asking she had upgraded our room. I can not stress enough how impressed I was with the customer service tonight, and it all was because of the great employee Cassandra. We will definitely be back!!!

I do not typically write reviews however, I feel that I need to do so. I stayed here and everything was fine up until I left and found lice in my wig. I called about my issue after discovering it and have yet to hear back. 10/10 recommend checking the whole room before trusting the cleaning service based off price.

A fantastic top notch hotel in the Greensboro North Carolina area if youre ever in this area and looking for a five-star hotel please check out this location the staff was great very helpful the amenities were excellent and its located in a great location central to the downtown area and other shopping destinations my wife and I really enjoyed it we were there for a company Thanksgiving event and this experience made it that much nicer to be in town.

Very disappointed. After a remodel the mattress was awful. Worst night of sleep ever and my back hurt. The food and bar however were good. The special they ran is why I gave it 3 stars

We stayed the night for my wifes birthday and we loved the hotel. We spent the early part of the afternoon shopping at the Friendly Center, which is a short walk from the O Henry. Friendly Center has many shops and restaurants to choose from. We enjoyed our first afternoon tea in the hotel lobby. It was really cool. The O Henry has a really good restaurant named the Green Valley Grill. Enjoyed drinks at the restaurant bar and later that evening had room service delivery from the restaurant. Food and dessert were great. Dont miss out on their complimentary breakfast. Very good. Loved the room and the bathroom was really nice. Really liked the tub and walk in shower. Hope to stay there again in the near future.

It is fiendishly difficult to find proper clotted cream in the US. OHenry never disappoints as a prime location for a real tea. The teas are rich and flavourful (even the herbals) and the accoutrements are wonderful. Whenever I need to refresh my childhood memories of formal teas with my mother I come here and I am transported. Delicious offerings in an elegant and genteel surround. OHenry is treasure and Im looking forward to creating lasting memories here with our familys next generation!

This is our getaway spot. Visited for the first time just after Christmas and now we are back just a month later. Love the friendly staff. Hotel is Clean and had put strong COVID practices in place while still allowing visibility and a sense of normalcy. The rooms are e fantastic. Beds are large and comfortable. Decor is great. My favorite 2 parts of the room is the ceiling and the vanity area. The ceiling is like the sky. It has clouds and whether it is dark or light it gives you a sense of serenity. The vanity area is a great use of the space in the room. The room service is pretty awesome too. The restaurant on site is spectacular. We order so.ething different every time and every time we are blowed away with savory flavors and the fresh taste of the food. This place is great for family getaway or couples getaway.

We just came for lunch...everytime I visit....maybe sometime we will try the proximity hotel restaurant....

Had the best time going here with my family for high tea. Id gone when I was a girl and the quality and experience hasnt changed at all. The service and staff were awesome and the atmosphere is great. You definitely feel like your in your own little Downton Abbey. The tea selections were great and the tea sandwiches and desserts were amazing. The chicken salad was delicious and the scones w clotted cream and lemon curd were a bite of heaven. What topped it off was getting a little birthday cupcake. Definitely recommend!

Just stayed here for the first time for an anniversary getaway. Kudos to housekeeping as the room was impeccably clean with so much attention to detail in light of COVID. We opted for a package that included sparking wine, cheese plate, and truffles and these were over the top. The room was quiet and the bed so comfortable. A very relaxing and enjoyable experience! (And of course wonderful food at GVG downstairs)

Excellent hotel! I had never heard of this hotel until we made reservations to attend a wedding reception. I was pleasantly surprised by the quaint cars on the outside, the look of the hotel and the beautiful landscaping. Ample parking close to the entrance so that we could easily transport our luggage. Inside the lobby we fell in love. The customer service was above and beyond at the front desk and we were able to check in early. The hotel room, amenities, beds, bathroom were welcoming and inviting. Clean and fresh! We asked for more towels and got those quickly from the friendly housekeeping staff. Lets just say we wish we could have stayed additional days. I now have a new favorite hotel! The complimentary breakfast capped off our wonderful stay with the best offerings including the best bacon ever!!! Truly a wonderful experience.

The room was very clean and was furnished nicely. Rooms were cut up so it made the bedroom small. Separate bathroom which was very nice. I still didn’t get the wow factor here. I thought the rooms would be a lot nicer for the price.

Upon driving up, I realized it is such a beautiful building. The lobby has a great decor and the staff are so nice. They do a very good job of greeting you and explaining the features of the hotel. The room is very nice and decorated in a manner that is not over the top or too stuffy. I will be back to this hotel.

The OHenry is a wonderful hotel. The staff is very friendly and the service is great. My family goes regularly for the Tea Service. They do delicious gluten free scones (as well as regular scones) with seasonal curd (wow!) and fantastic assortment of teas. The tea service with the sandwiches and cookies is also wonderful. The ambiance of classical music tops it all off with a beautiful view to their patio. I cant recommend this experience greater!

The staff at the O. Henry Hotel are second to none! I received excellent service this weekend. When I arrived at the hotel Friday night, I inquired about a safe place to go for a jog. The manager on duty was so kind and gracious. She gave me a map of the nearby trail and even walked me to the trail head and directed me where to go. It was so nice and helpful! When I returned from my run, she offered me a cold water to cool down. How kind! When I left the hotel, I realized I left something behind in my room. Abigail at the front desk offered to search the room for me. She found my item and offered to ship it to me. I am so grateful for her kindness and willingness to help me! Great service and a friendly staff on top of a beautiful hotel make this place hard to beat!

I was graced with a room, for some work I done for Dennis, at Lucky 32, but not just any room. A Magi Suite one of four on the top floor of the O.Henry. The suite has been recently renovated, What a beautiful job they have done. The bathroom was amazing, all marble floors, walls, tub and shower. Great location so close to all your needs. If you ever have the opportunity to stay, its worth it. Loved everything about it.

If you arent hungry you will be once you smell the aromas from the kitchen, which houses a wood fired oven. The grounds are impeccably groomed. Inside floral arrangements are on every available surface including the market cart outside of the Green Valley Grill. Theres a beautiful pool below the upper terrace, which is a shady retreat of tables around a fountain.
