We moved in during COVID so we were not able to tour our apartment in person. We were sent a video of a unit that would be similar to the one we could move into. We liked that it was on the first floor and that it was bigger than others we looked at and less than $1000 a month. On the day we moved in, we were appalled!!! The apartment was 1000% different than the video we were sent. It was tiny and very dated. It sent us into a panic. We called the office and after over an hour of talking to them on the phone (with movers and a Uhaul) they finally gave us a small apology and admitted they sent us the wrong video. They then said they had the apartment from the video available so we went to look at it and decided to move into that one. We were unaware we had to go through the whole application process again over the phone, which took over an hour. We also now have to be 1200 for our apartment. We would not have moved into this apartment for 1200 if we would have known prior to our move in day. It was one of the most stressful days. We have lived here for awhile but the office staff has been rude and unhelpful the entire time.In addition to this, Walls are very thin. I can hear neighbors Alexa as well as their snoring in the middle of the night

We lived here for 3.5 years and loved it! The floorpans of the apartments are spacious and management does a nice job keeping up with landscaping and other maintenance work. We often had maintenance orders responded to the same or very next day. Very clean, friendly, quiet community.

I am a returning resident and am just as impressed the second time around! We had a contactless move-in this time due to the pandemic and the office staff didnt miss a beat - everything was well organized and easy. Weve always had a great experience living here from the friendly, accommodating office/maintenance staff, to the long list of amenities (included parking, dog friendly, in unit washer/dryer, pool, gym, etc). We love living here and would recommend it to anyone!

Received significant different information from staff during application process. Rude on the phone as well and it sounded like a party was happening in the background. I would never recommend this apartment.

Ive lived in the Rivershire Community for several years and am a paraplegic. From great year-round grounds upkeep to the professional and helpful maintenence staff, I never need to worry about getting around or waiting on something that needs attention in my residence.Office staff and management are first-rate professionals and are always willing to assist when needed. Maintenance requests and questions regarding myriad items are promptly addressed. The residences themselves are great. I have plenty of room to easily maneuver my wheelchair inside and a large patio to enjoy outside as well. Appliances are maintained or replaced as needed.I would recommend Rivershire Apartments to anyone.Patrick

Hi. I just wanted to bring to your attention how pleased I am with my experience at Rivershire. I have lived here approx 15+ years both on the new and original side and of late, have never been happier. The Manager, Kassie really is for all of us and makes things happen. She realizes that when people are happy where they live, she is doing her job. She had no problem updating my apartment, because the flooring and carpet was so old, new updated light fixtures and most recently, a fresh coat of paint. Last year, new roofs, new parking lots, landscaping. I am so pleased. She is accessible, she listens, she cares. And lets not forget the office staff and maintenance at Rivershire. Everyone is so helpful. I am getting ready to sign another lease, could consider moving closer to family, but am very pleased here and just wanted you to know...thank you.

Milwaukee overall is an expensive city to live in. Some people love the inner city while others love the suburbs. My husband and I moved into Rivershire apartments about 8 years ago. They have the newer ones across the street and the older models on the other side. We lived in the older apartments and we didn’t have a problem with them. They’ve done some changes/remodeling each year in our apartment. From carpets to patio doors to new washer/dryer to new bathroom tile and new toilet. It’s a work in progress and they give enough notice.Rent is not bad at first but it does go up every year and this goes along with any apartment you rent in Milwaukee. We personally lucked on wonderful neighbors. It’s a good dog community and there are trails in the back to go for long walks/runs. (Rootriver parkway) On every walk around the apartments or on the trails you would find baby raccoons, deer, geese, ducks, coyotes and so much more that nature has to offer. You never felt you lived in a busy area close to hwy 100.Each apartment has a garage and 1 parking spot. You can park in the front but it’s monitored by the city and you’ll get a ticket once in a while if you don’t call in your vehicle for night parking on the street.Kassie C is the manager and was very helpful through the years. She responded to our calls and emails promptly and addressed our concerns. Peter who is one of the maintenance employees was so helpful and wonderful. We will miss his help with any of our apartment issues.

Living in Rivershire is an enjoyable experience. It provides both an urban and rural look at life. Close to shopping, restaurants, the rustic experience of the Root River, southern Oak Leaf Trail, and animal life beyond belief. Besides this the apartments are mini-townhouses, reliable maintenance, along with professional and courteous staff. Have lived here over 20+ years and am happy that the right choice was initially made!

I had a very nice experience touring Rivershire this month. From the friendly staff in the office to the amenities they offer there, this seems to really be a really great place to work and live. I am still deciding on where Ill ultimately end up, but if you are thinking of renting in the area (so convenient to everything youd need, location-wise), I highly recommend checking this place out. The units I saw were roomy and well laid out. They did not feel apartmenty... they felt kind of like many of the condos Ive seen. And the gym, pool and community room are all super nice too. Great place and super friendly and knowledgeable leasing agents. 5 stars.

Good place to stay. They have helpful leasing office people. Also they are located in an awesome high rated school disctrict. This feature is valuable for families have kids.

Unfortunately the cost of living here does not reflect the quality. Poorly functioning appliances from the early 90s (not the ones you will see in tours) can be upgraded for a significant bump in rent. Units have not aged well, and thin walls and ceilings make it more of a dorm-like atmosphere. There is a fair amount of waste and garbage floating around at any given time, but residents tend to ignore it. People are generally loud, unaccommodating, and cars frequently park with music blaring at odd hours. The office will offer to document your noise complaints, but are otherwise unhelpful if this is a persistent issue. I suspect the recent boost in 5-star reviews is the result of some incentive to improve Wimmers online presence. This is a very dog-friendly area, with multiple free bag and waste stations along the main stretch. But these are only helpful when owners use them, and so many seem to think picking up after their animal is merely an option.Maintenance tends to do the bare minimum when resolving the majority of work orders. Mold was a persistent issue in our bathrooms and kitchen, as were inconsistently functioning garage doors and flooded lots. It should be noted that the property is located directly behind a large marsh which contributes to the smell and general dampness of the area.Winter is especially challenging, as the outdated doors and windows are incapable of sealing in warmth or protecting against the cold. Old electric baseboards work overtime to keep things warm, which will be reflected in your WE Energies bill. It took a fair amount of months and convincing to finally get our windows replaced, and by then we had resolved not to spend another year of our lives here.

From the office people to maintenance people this place rocks. Mackenzie, Nicole,Karen,Isabella and Kassie are always greeting us with smiles and offering assistance if needed. Dont forget the maintenance guys they are quick to answer and fix any problems. This is definitely a great family environment to live in. Plus our dog loves the free treats at the office. Haha

I have lived here for over 20 years....The office staff and the repair staff are top notch and are genuinely concerned with taking of the tenants and tenant retention...repair issues are handled very quickly and statuses are promptly comunicated... The property is well kept. Leasing rates are very competitive for for all the amenities it offers...like living in a condo without the taxes, association fees and unexpected repair bills.

I have lived at the Rivershire for over 6 years, and considering the time I have been here, I have had a really positive experience. Obviously not everything is perfect, but there are a ton of positives. The office is very accommodating for requests, etc., the amenities are first class and the location is great. I have two children that live here and we would recommend Rivershire to anyone looking for a great place to live!

These apartments are not worth the rent. They are very dated and not energy efficient. Everything is electric and the windows and doors do not keep the cold winter air out. Very disappointed. The cost of heating the place is OUTRAGEOUS! !!!!!!!

Actual experience from living here was good overall. Apartments are nicely designed, in good shape and reasonably priced.Gave two stars because we were screwed out of our security deposit after doing everything we could when we moved in to ensure that this would not happen. We had a pre-move in inspection where we could record issues with the apartment before moving in. The lady that walked thorough with us held on to the form and wouldnt let us write things on it ourselves. We pointed out a scuff in the living room carpet, and she insisted that was no big deal and didnt need to be written down. We insisted that she write it down, but she refused to do so.Now fast forward to when we moved out and sure enough, over half of our security deposit was withheld with the reason given being the scuff on the carpet we had expressly pointed out when moving in. Of course there was no record of this because the lady didnt write it down, so we were SOL.

Office staff are very rude and condescending! They exaggerate minor irrelevant details and feel theyre justified. If you have a problem with a broken garage door and cant get into the garage to your car. Only call the office once and wait hours for their response. If you call 3 times (leaving messages) within an hour they will reprimand you, telling you you have called 15 times whats the emergency. Apparently, I dont need my car! I guess Im just one of those nuisance tenants who live there.

Cheap, non-military friendly, unprofessionalMoving in was easy and quick (relatively). They offered everything I was really looking for in an apartment (balcony, washer/dryer, dishwasher, pets...) and it was reasonably sized and pretty cheap.Cheap is the right word, everything is very cheaply made and when they floor guy replaced the linoleum in the kitchen and bathroom he didnt even pull out the old stuff. While I was living there I enjoyed it, it was a nice home.In September I found out I was leaving for military training in October to Texas for 3 months then headed to Alabama in January for more. But I needed a place to come back to for Christmas so I left my lease intact. Once I got my orders for Alabama I let the office know I would be moving out, to which they never really replied other than to acknowledge receipt. Finally the week before I was going to move out I came back to Wisconsin and talked to them in person. They told me I needed to pay rent until they found a person to take over my apartment. I said no, I sent you my orders, that breaks my lease. According the the Service Member Civil Relief Act I owe them nothing. Now finally a month and a half later I finally got my security deposit back with $100 less of rent reimbursement since someone moved in January 15th (I moved out 31Dec) than it should have been.Decent place to live on a budget but as soon as you try to leave (as seems to be the theme in other reviews) they turn nasty.

Expensive, junky construction and finishes, poor repairs (that they say will be done in a day or two but will be weeks to months). Lots of add-on charges. Rent hikes up on renewal (varies between $45 and $100 more/month, depending on signing month and day of the week thanks to unpredictable algorithm they use). If youre north of Morgan, prepare to be ignored - mold inside and out, tons of bugs, rot, outdoor lights that dont work. If youre south, youll pay $100+ more for the luxury of a vaulted ceiling. Little insulation = $200+ electric bills in summer and winter. Nice location, and very pet-friendly, but dont care about tenants and high turn over because of above.

The only positive thing for this property is its pet friendly. Buildings are old and look ugly, need constant repair and updating. Repairs are often shoddy, with mismatched shingles, paint jobs are half assed. Used to have a good bunch of neighbors (who have all left), and they all said that when they put in their notice to leave the staff got pretty nasty with them. Management is slow to respond, if at all. Has a decent location, put since they dont keep up with lawn maintenance it turns into a swarm of mosquitos during the summer.I would not recommend moving here, Im sure there are placer much nicer and cheaper than this. Was nice location for us between both of our jobs, and if I didnt hate moving s much we wouldve left quite some time ago.
