We had a great year last year with our event. This year went well, but my family and I are saddened that we were blamed for a large crack on a post that was not done by us. My husband repaired that free of charge because we just dont want to deal with it anymore. I hope you inspect your building better next time. To all future customers, please perform a walkthrough such as when renting an apartment, for your sake and Janets. This will be our last year renting this venue.

Great experience. Staff was friendly, helpful and eager to help all guests. If you are torn between a barn wedding and an inside event, the rustic charm of this down to earth family run banquet hall should be on your list. They handled 250 guests for a family style wedding reception and did it well. They are flexible with special requests and had plenty of staff on hand from start to finish. I will say if you are expecting a 5 star pinky-in-the-air wedding experience than this is not for you. If however, you are looking at your budget and are open to a more country rustic shabby chic and save some money than this is for you. Great for country weddings and semi formal events.

I am a photographer, that has attended many events in many venues, of course there are pro and cons, I have never complained. #humbolthausGreenbay can be a beautiful place for any event sure!! However, Main thing: poor poor customer service that needs to be improved. (rolled eyes, fingers in the water pitcher. Thousand of dollar shouldnt be treated this way.) Second: dishonesty from the manager herself. I highly do not recommend this place unless you desperately need a place. And if you end up with Humbolthaus, make sure your contract is crystal clear of what you need and what the place included. Have your contract with you AT ALL TIMES while in the event. Just so you dont end up spending more than you should.

Place needs a serious update. Ceiling is stained, stage walls are gross, & only one very rude bartender at wedding. Food was okay.

DO NOT RENT THIS PLACE! They will charge you extra for every little thing. The owner tried to change the cost of table clothes from $4 to $6 per table and charged an extra fee to go get them. Tried to charge us for tap water. You will get charged for extra security, extra bartenders. The contract will not show any of these fees. Didnt take out trash. Bathrooms were clogged and didnt fix them for 40 mins after being notified multiple times. Staff is very rude. Asked for ice water in a pitcher and the owner pushed the ice in with her fingers. When asked to get a new one she rolled her eyes. Had to argue with the owner to get one trash bag. Had to argue to get ice for our deserts. Multiple guests complained about the staff.

We had a meeting set up with Janet. She never even showed up to give us a tour. We waisted our time as we drove about two hours to get there. Place was a joke. Owner said she left town....

Not a fan... I attended a wedding here back in May 2017. My first impression- wow, outside needs maintenancing. The light fixtures were falling apart, glass on lights were broken and the siding was starting to noticably fall apart. And this was just first glance. Inside-the decor was nice. I likes the decor of the lights and tul wave, but with the table set up it was super TIGHT. As a guest, this was unappealing. We were all in each others space during the service, chairs bumped into each other, barely any leg room, it was uncomfortable. Once the some of the tables cleared out there was a great amount of dance floor to use. The night continues on like normal until at the end of the night as my husband, the best man, and I stayed after to help the bride and groom there were aome issues. First, arguments at the bar-i guess 2-3 people got charges drinks that they didnt buy. Two bills racked up to about $200, not sure the other. No refund was offered. Those ppl paid the bill and left pist after arguing. Next, argument between thr owner and bride took place. The bride had ask if the owner can wait 15 more mins until the dj arrived. The owner refused to allow extra time and stated she would charge the bride another day for 15 extra mins for the dj to grab his equipment. I guess the dj would make it to Humboldt haus just right before they closed and the owner wouldnt accomodate. Long story short, dj came 15-20 mins before doors closed and all worked well. It was a pointless discussion in the end, but it was disgusting that the owner was not willing to accomodate when the question was asked and informed about the dj equipment pick up situation. Shame that the night went well, but ended in bitter arguments. Which were all preventable.

Just had our event on September 29th 2018. On the part that they came around and asked to see if there is anything we needed was okay, but the bartender services was the worst ever. Every time I went to get beer from them I had to ask for cups and not even once give me enough cups. They should know how many cups in a pitcher and give out that many. I got 3 pitchers from her and she only gave 5 cups and I asked for more she gave me two more with rolling eyes.

I will never refer or say anything good about Humboldt Haus.- their contracts are inaccurate and meaningless. Does not go with anything you agree on. Always read the contract before signing!- Talked multiple times about beverages and prices, etc but was never informed that I had to pay for drinking tap water until two weeks before my wedding- When I was first informed of the water issue, me and 3 other people that were there, heard her quote me $1.25 per water bottle. Later on she said it was $1.50 but NO WHERE was water listed as $1.50 or that water was even a charge! Not on the website, wedding packet, menu, contract etc. but yet they state they have been selling it for 15 years at $1.50.- Bartenders and owner drinking beer from the kegs I bought.- Found out from my guests that the min to close out a card at the bar was $30 but the guests were not aware or informed so when they cashed out for less than $30, they were charged up to $30 without being informed, the guest had to ask why the bill was over charged! I wonder how many of my guests they did this to that werent paying attention.- Trash was never taken out when it was their responsibility. My own guests had to take out the garbage bc they were over flowing all night.- Dance floor was not cleared for us and when asked why, the owner said we wanted it cleared 30 mins earlier than what we talked about and that security did the clearing but was not there yet. Therefore my own guests had to clear and clean the dance floor. (Event and timelines change. Rarely do they run exactly on time, a professional venue should be prepared for this or at least try to help.)-Was informed I had to pay for security but not informed I had to pay for at least 3 at $18 per hour until the day before the wedding.- My wedding coordinator invited all the staff to have some food and one of the bartenders picked food with her bare fingers putting the food back and reselecting! If she is unsanitary with our food in front of my parents who cooked the food and myself, what else is she unsanitary with?- I informed Janet that my party will end around 12am. So I told my DJ to pick up the equipment after 12 and he stated they have another DJ booth at The Woods (less than 10 mins away from Humboldt Haus) that was done at 12 and that they will pick up the equipment right after and should only take 10-15 mins. At 12 before leaving, I mentioned to Janet that we were leaving but the DJ will be there soon to pick up their equipment and her response was no theyre not and then the staff literally laughed at me. I asked why and Janet said bc the doors will be locked at 12:30. The contract says I have the building until 1:30! We argued about this for a good 20 mins and the DJ came during the argument and grabbed their stuff and was out before 12:30! The point was she was so unwilling to listen or even work with me nor did she follow the contract! When asked to pull the contract by the remaining guests, she refused to pull it out.- The next day when we went back to grab our stuff, she refused to give us garbage bags! We had to argue with her before she gave us 2 garbage bags!- Was extremely rude to us bc my family accidentally took two of her Chaffer trays that had food we ordered from the venue but we contacted my family right away and the trays were brought back within the next hour. (We had 12 chaffer trays and she had 2) Yet, she treated us like thieves. This could have been prevented if she was more involved in clearing the dance floor which was their responsibility.Although I provided majority of my own food for the wedding, I did spend $3,500 on this venue and Janet, the owner, did NOT do one thing to make my wedding day easier. They did not do anything on my wedding day besides sit behind the bar and collect money from my guests (incorrectly charging), drinking beer from my kegs and forgetting they had responsibilities . Humboldt Haus has no morals, values and ethics. They steal your money any way and chance they get.

Our reception was at the Humboldt Haus, the customer service was the worst we have ever had and unfortunately it was on our wedding day. They did not set up the right number of tables even though the owner told me THREE separate times that she would, there was a huge crack in the front glass door that was a hazard to my guests, the owner told my mother-in-law that she didnt come out during our wedding (she was in charge of everything) because she didnt want to deal with us, the front table was served 2 bowls of chicken so my husband and I ate little chicken wings for our wedding dinner because thats all that was left, the food was cold and we were blamed for it because she said we were late (we were there at 5:50, dinner started at 6:00), my mom asked for some hot gravy and they brought out the same cold gravy, they didnt clear off our centerpieces like I was told they would when taking the tables down for the D.J., they actually took everything off the tables and then put the centerpieces back on so the tables couldnt be taken down...my husband ended up having to do it in the time that we were supposed to get more pictures taken so we missed out on getting all our pictures, my nephews were sworn at with the F word by the owners boyfriend because they were out back by his equipment (looks like a construction lot) the free beer was supposed to start right after dinner and it was an hour after that we noticed people were still purchasing beer so we had to tell them to start it; thats more money they didnt deserve to make. I specifically asked about the A/C to make sure it would be on since it was summer and she assured me it would be, it ended up being a very warm day but the doors were open to the outside the whole time and the A/C was not on, my husband had to tell them to turn it on but it didnt cool down until the reception was over. I can go on and on and on but I think that sums up the customer service we were treated to by the owner and her boyfriend. Most importantly; there wasnt handicap parking available. My husbands disabled uncle and his wife had to park almost in the field and when they made it inside they sat at the table closest to the door, they told them that they wouldnt be served at the table (that they were supposed to have set up). They didnt even show him another spot available so him since there were not two spots open next to each other so they left without getting dinner. There are many other places in the area so give the business to someone who deserves it!!
