Dog wash is a plus. DO NOT get the nail trim service. Paid $20 for a trim and grind and it honestly didnt look like they did anything at all. Took about 15 minutes, too bad for me it was a Monday evening and I was too tired to argue about it once I noticed what a bad job (or no job?) they did at the register. besides if that was the best effort after that much time and money, Im afraid they wouldve hurt my dog trying again. I think its a new program so I hope they get better...

This store has discontinued almost everything that I purchased from there within a month or two of me getting my dog adjusted to eating and unfortunately I’m trying to shop locally. HOWEVER I won’t be shopping there once I find another pet store.

This place is great for a quick pick up of food or supplies for your pets. But selection is limited when it comes to special items like flea and tick treatments. The staff is very helpful and can explain everything in the store. Definitely a good place for quick supply trips.

Called to see if they had something instock. They didnt carry it, but without being asked they looked it up and told me who did carry it. Outstanding customer service!

We went there because the gf likes the santa paws pics every year with the dogs. However they had a few things for decent prices that Ive either already bought or will be soon. Staff is great too.

I am a regular customer at chow hound and the staff is very helpful in helping me find what I need. I recently switched to a different dog food and the supervisor was helpful in finding me something that fit my dog. Typically I enjoy shopping here. However, last week I have noticed that the cashier seems to have a foul odor and this isnt the first time Ive noticed it. I highly recommend this place for any animal needs but I hope this is addressed by a manager

Very friendly, helpful employees, the cat and I both love the new cat house and cat food (yes, I eat it so I can afford vodka, its great with eggs). They have a store cat which is honestly the best thing since sliced bread.

Great place to wash my 🐕, is not too expensive. This place offers shampoo, conditioner, gloves, cotton balls to clean up the dogs ears and treats. Great for my dog.

We use the self-serve dog wash rooms all the time! No mess at home, and they’ve got everything there, towels, shampoo, conditioner, air dryer...I’m sure we do a better job than we would at home in the tub, and no mess to clean up! We get coupons because we’re in their rewards program. The staff people are friendly and they are pretty knowledgeable, can usually steer me to the right leash or toy or whatever for our dog.

Stopped in and used the dog wash at the Allendale Chow Hound pet supply store today. What a deal. Very clean, smelled great and had everything we needed,. Tub has a ramp, shampoo, cream rinse, dog cologne, treats, nice clean towels and a bunch of other stuff we never even got to were provided. Awesome blow dryer had our Golden Retriever dry and fluffy in no time. We also bought some dog food and I think because of that they drastically reduced the cost of the dog wash. Great value even without the discount.

I got a new dog and decided to switch to a good quality dog food. I had minimal information going into the store and asked an employee in the section for advice. He clearly explained everything and answered many questions I had. He also recommended specific treats for my german shepherds joint problems the breed is known to have. He was very helpful and I was able to find a good dog food that doesnt break the bank that he recommends. I will be doing all my pet related business with them!

Like this location bit, the self dog wash at this location is not well keptDryer nozzles chewed or falling off. Some shampoos and conditioners only had enough in them for a small dog. Water temps constantly fluctuate throughout bath, whether theres a dog being bathed or not.My dog and I will be driving a little further for the more consistant Chow Hound dog wash out by Metro hospital.

Prices a little high compared to competitors . Service and knowledge is off the charts great. High quality products gives prices an excuse.
