Bad service. Never called to inform you whats going on with your product. They take 35 dollars to drop off and charge you more money to pick it up and fix nothing. Stay away from blackies
They did warranty repair on my LG OLED C9. Jamie contacted me after being contacted by LG. Asked me to send him pictures of the problem with my TV as well as proof of purchase. Afterwards he ordered the new panel replacement. Took a week for them to receive it. After that he contacted me when the part came in to set up an appointment for them to come out and repair my TV. They arrived at the time they said they would. Both were extremely professional and finished the repair in a timely matter. Excellent customer service from them and LG. Thank you.
I have had nothing but OUTSTANDING service from these folks! Owning one of the earliest 5-Disc Sony changers, mine was not opening the disc tray. I walked in with it, and the guy at the counter said, Theres a CDW-(whatever!), naming the model by recognition. It took a less than $1 part, total repair was like $36.00. I was floored! Since then, I have had them refurbish my great-uncles old 1950s RCA Bakelite radio, and am having them repair my mint-condition Boston Acoustics A-70 speakers. These. Guys are. GREAT!!!!! #DoIt!
Horrible communication! Blackie is an old rude individual. Doesnt listen on the phone, hangs up without saying goodbye, or to see if the customer has any other questions! Ive brought electronics here before, but this most likely will be the last time! I brought two stereos in for repair June 8, 2020. One was fixed in a couple months...the other Im still waiting on...here it is the first week of 2021, and no call since Oct 2020. I had to call him! Waiting on parts from China..not getting them from supplier... For 6 months??I had better receive a discount for my patience......🤞🏻🤞🏻Rant over.......
If you are expecting good customer service, don’t go to blackie’s! Horrible communication, they’ll sit on your equipment without repairing it, never gives an update or call back and don’t do what they say they’ll do. Owner is rude on the phone and impatient. Never will get my business again.
I took my 5 disc mini stereo system to there shop a month or so ago. The son was going to charge me $25 to look at it. The father who I assume owned the played said $35. I wanted it looked at so I paid it. They told me it would be looked at between 5-7 business days. Never got a call. I called several times. Finally after two weeks it was suppose to be looked at. Disc player wasnt working. So I waited another week. Still no call. Called again. Finally looked at and they said they couldnt fix it. They said I could pay a fee to salvage it. Was suppose to call me back that day and never did. So a week later after work I picked it up. I got it and looked like it never was looked at. Still dusty. So when I got it home. I put a CD in it and after some playing around with it with a remote I bought online it started to work. Not great. But worked to a point. I think the eye that reads the CDs just needs to be cleaned. I dont believe they even looked at it. $35 wasted. I live out of town. Wasted trip. I dont like dishonest people. No calls and no communication. Plus they never looked at it. Never again.
If you are thinking about bringing your malfunctioning equipment to Blackies, I am warning you - DO NOT DO IT.I dropped off my Harman receiver on November 20, 2020 and after checking in a few times in December and January, I was repeatedly told the delay is due to a part coming from China. I inquired several times thereafter via phone and not only was I hung up on, their promises to call me back never occurred - not once.After FOUR months of waiting, I was then told that the repair had to be outsourced. I do not believe a part was ever ordered from China as they claimed that nothing was wrong. I received my unit back in exactly the same condition that I dropped it off - nothing was fixed and $75 out the window. Furthermore, I was without my home theater for FIVE months (including over the holidays when my kids were home from college)!Overall, Blackies in unprofessional, highly disorganized, and has the worst customer service that I have experienced in a really long time. I would not recommend anyone using Blackies for their electronics repair needs.

So dropped my 65 Samsung to be repaired, never heard from them the entire time for 2 months so I decide to call and they said they were waiting for a part to come in. The part finally comes in and they say some BS reason why it doesnt work so they decided to scrap it and I lose my $75 deposit for their time spent on trying to fix the TV. The guy was super rude every time I called and pretty much said I cant come and get my TV to try and get it fixed elsewhere. I firmly believe they are just scamming people keeping deposits and saying they cant fix the TV. Then who knows what happens to the customers TV after it cant be fixed. I definitely DO NOT recommend them for even a thought in your mind to have them repair anything at all. Worst experience ever!!!
Great service, price and speed. Pay a percentage upfront, then once cost to repair is determined, if it exceeds the amount you pre-approved, they call you and get approval. They told me 10 business days and finished right on time. 10/10, will use again.

It’s the only place around that still works on equipment like speakers or stereos and that’s important. You don’t just throw away your stereo and get a new one. You fix what’s wrong and these guys are few and far between.

Brought my microwave in for a repair because they’re an LG certified repair center. Long story short, LG refused to pay for parts and labor to fix it. Staff at Blackie’s went above and beyond to advocate on my behalf directly to LG. we decided to scrap the microwave due to the cost of parts/labor exceeding its value. Staff at Blackie’s seemed empathetic at LG’s failure to help, so they found me a replacement to buy at a discount price. Overall, they turned a frustrated experience with LG into a satisfying outcome. I appreciate their small-business, customer-centered attitude, and I will definitely be back for any other electronic repairs I may need in the future. Thanks for the great service!
Very pleased! Brought an ailing receiver to them and they fixed the problem I reported, plus they *also* fixed a different, minor issue that I hadnt bothered to mention to them. All for a very reasonable price and faster than was estimated when I brought the unit in. My expectations were exceeded and theyve earned my recommendation.
Ive been going to blackies for 20 years. They/he are the best. It seems like he can fix anything. May not be as polished as soom other places(though I know of no other place around here that does what he does) there seems to be nothing that they cant fix.
The older gentlemen thats running the show, or owns it maybe Im not sure seems to guilt customers. Its strange. If my warranty hadnt have assigned him to me I would never have paid for service. He guilted me everytime I called which was once a week cause he kept telling me itll be done by the weekend ( my tv bulbs needed replaced) but he didnt. Then he guilted me each time by saying things like he will have to being in employees illegally to fix it cause its such a huge 3 hour job and acted like I was wasting his time by checking in. Im sorry you just took my.television during quarantine and had it for 2 months to change some lightbulbs! I tried to be nice each time but he always acted like I was inconveniencing him and was horrible at communicating with me as a customer. I would not pay for services.Because this was covid and I know that things were rough for small business owners Im giving 3 stars. For making me feel bad for wanting open and honest communication from the person who just took my expensive 65 television out of my living room when we have 4 kids out of school... i deducted stars.
What a joke, I dropped off my radio and a deposit 3 weeks ago and was assured it would be fixed by Christmas as it was going to be a gift, I have called every day this week for an update and he keeps telling me he will call me back but never does,I know when I’m getting the run around so I’m going down today to get my radio back, total scam and poor business, would not recommend to anyone

They kept my TV for 2 months and never planned to fix it. The whole time they lied that they couldnt get the parts from China. I found the parts online and a instructional repair video on YouTube.They did encourage me to allow them to dispose of it.......suspicious

Got recommendation from another local business who couldnt help me. I am also way out of state. I am restoring a 87 Conquest TSi which has a three deck stereo system. This car is unique as the stereo, climate controls, and steering wheel controls all have the same look with the then-popular Mitsubishi large square silver buttons. I very much wanted to keep the stock stereo but mine didnt function as most dont after all these years. Blackies agreed to give it a try. I sent them three units with hopes they could take three and make at least one fully functional. Not only did they do this, they did it at a reasonable cost and within a week or so. I was blown away. Communication was great too. All without every meeting one another face-to-face. Cannot thank Blackies enough!!

Affordable repair
Sure, they may be a little disorganized. Thats because there is an awful lot going on here, and they are focused on making electronic systems work more than on a highly polished showroom atmosphere with bells and whistles. If you wish for the latter, this probably isnt your place. They have no receptionist probably no Customer Relations handbook. But if you wish for decades of experience, a deep understanding of the world of electronics, a place to get that old reel-to-reel tape system repaired, which most young technicians have never seen, let alone worked on, or to get your new TV evaluated because it just doesnt do what the slick salesperson said it would do, this is your place. And, in my experience, they care about giving customers what they need.
Terrible experience with receiver/amp. Charged $50 for diagnostics test. Called said it was another $120 ($170 total). Fixed the buzzing but ruined all the HDMI ports rendering it useless for my home theater. Claimed the HDMI ports were bad when I brought it in, complete lie. He claimed they tested them when i brought it in. I responded, isnt the diagnotics service where you call me and tell me the problem and how much it costs. They never called and ruined a $2,000 receiver/amp. I told him to keep it! Awful service, cannot recommend as I had to argue my point when I shouldnt have had to. Dishonesty will get you no where.
Cant even walk in the business looks like an episode of horders gone wrong the guys a crook charged me 35 dollars to tell me something I already know then said it was going to be 250 to replace backlights on a 2014 42 inch sharp tv not only that but he said it was going to take a week I told him I was coming to get the tv and when I picked it up the tv now has a big scrach on the front of it I STRONGLY SUGGEST TO STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE

Blackies does FANTASTIC work!If your vintage stereo develops a problem (the right hand channel on mine was weak and noisy), I *HIGHLY* recommend Blackies Radio and TV on 28th St, about halfway between I96 and Cascade Road.Not only did they fix the problem with the right audio channel, they fixed something that improved the tuning. Im in a weak spot in WGVUs radio coverage and Ive never been able to get them in clearly on any radio at home until now!They have fixed a couple electronic things for me, and they have always done top-notch work at a reasonable price.
Bought a record player from them. It ran fast the day I bought it, so I brought it back. They took it in and told me they would look at it and let me know what was wrong. After three weeks of not hearing from them, I called and was told that they had sent it off to have the idler wheel fixed, and that they couldnt give me an estimate, but they figured about $125. I told them the had sold me the unit with a problem, and that I had not approved a repair of $125. He spent 10 minutes trying to convince me he knew what he was doing; that he worked on expensive units for people, and that my unit was not nice enough for me to be so bent out of shape (still not sure how any of that was relevant). I told him to call wherever he had sent my part and have them send it back so he could put my player back together and give it back to me. I am not giving this company another penny of my money. Rude, incompetent, slow.
I take all my electronics to Blackies. Ive been dealing with them since 2010 and have never had a bad experience with any of the items theyve fixed for me. Blackie has always been upfront and honest with me and if he feels Im putting too much money in any item Ive given him to fix, he contacts me and explains what the issue is and why I shouldnt bother investing another a cent into it first. I trust him and his staff and the work they do, on a scale from 1 to 10 -- I give them a 10++.

Not the friendliness on the phone, almost like your bothering them trying to make an appointment. Technician who showed up to fix tv was way more pleasant to deal with and did appreciate the help manhanding the oversized tv while fixing. TV was repaired as set up per manufacturer and stayed to make sure everything was set up per customer liking.
I thought they fixed my speakers. Got them home and they are still having the same problem. Bought them back and that was a joke they had my speakers for weeks and there still not fixed. The owner is rude and kept hanging up on me when I questioned him.

I had to call him three times so I got fed!!! up & went there to get my Tv but he lost my cord to it & kept my 100 doller deposit talking about storage fee he just money hungry will Never!!! Ever!!! We brought a tv to Blackies. He held onto the tv for over a month, without letting us know the problem, we had to contact him. He said he was having trouble ordering the part. Almost two months have passed, and he still has our tv, still with no contact from him.
