When you find yourself in a little bit of a pinch its nice and refreshing to know help isnt far away.I was stuck at the Amtrak station for 3 days and ran out of money Catholic outreach fed me when I was hungry without a bunch of questions or having to qualify no fuss no BS just get in line and get fed.The meal is cafeteria style and the food was great better than some restaurants Ive eaten at.In the morning they have a day room where you can get a shower wash your clothes and be clean in time for the noon meal.If life is good for you please think about a 10 to $20 donation now and then, I never thought I would need their services but when I did was a blessing that they were there to help.

Always courteous, and respectful without fail. That says a lot seeing as the homeless arent always humble, and its often these great folks who show up for work each day, many as volunteers, who get the darker side of substance abuse from people down so long, theyve lost hope in the fight.

You have to divulge your social security number to these people to use as identification. Im not making a bank transaction of over $10,000, unlike a bank, utility company or a doctors office Catholic Charities is not extending me any credit. Plus they offer absolute no assurances that your number is not kept off of laptops, computer hard drives or otherwise easily accessible or hackable sources a criminal can break into and steal your information. They will refuse you services because their use of your social security number is denied. There is no reason that Catholic Charities should need your social security number and its not my fault that they cant come up with a system that just requires you name and birth date. As long as I can not be 100% reassured that my information can be protected 100%, you do not deserve that information, period.

Eyesore of the city....located right next to the Amtrak Station...it gives a bad impression of the city to all visitors traveling to or thru town. All homeless outreach should only be allowed in areas of the city that dont negatively impact the neighborhoods. Outreach and public housing should be built on undesirable land near the City Dump or on the outskirts...not downtown or intown.
