Great place to exercise! People at the front desk are kind and attentive! Tons of machines to use and work on. The equipment is always clean, the pool is always clean too. My wife and I love the water aerobic classes. She is in a wheelchair so the pool is the best place for her to work out. Only thing is I wish they would reopen up their smoothie shop inside. Overall, best place to work out in GJ.

Lots of variety. Good value for the money. Only complaint is that they don’t keep up with equipment repairs very well.

Best gym in town. Everything about this gym is great. But I your exiting or entering the ladys locker room watch the corner carefully cause you might see god after you run into someone. But if you run into someone just say if was your fault so I its settled

I enjoy this gym. They have great equipment and most machines are repaired quickly if there are issues. They are keeping up with the times in the constantly changing fitness industry.

Usually greeted with a smiling face upon check in. The exercise equipment is arranged in a way that makes it easy to navigate across the room. Members are usually courteous and wipe down the equipment after use. One time there was an issue with double payment being taken out of my acct and the staff was incredibly helpful resolving the issue. I was extremely satisfied with how it was handled.

Water fountain taste like chlorine, almost made me throw up.

Horrible customer service. They sent our accounts to collections due to their own mistake in billing. They Admitted the mistake, then failed to reinstate my husbands account after scrambling to pull us out from their collection company. The manager made up some late fees for the multiple charges on our account that caused our bank to call and ask why they were trying to pull out money SEVEN times. Late Fees would be impossible considering they already took the money out for the monthly membership fees as they had the past year, then continued to try to pull money off our account all while trying to blame us because it was declined. Well duh, our bank flagged them as potential scammers because of how many times they attempted to pull money out of our account within the month, AFTER receiving our normal membership fees. The manager admitted to being condescending with me, and the owner at that point decided to cancel our membershipsThey wanted nothing to do with us once they realized how bad they were screwing with our finances and credit based off their managers inability to perform basic customer service tasks. Would not recommend unless you like being judged and talked down to by management. The headache we went through was not worth the time we lost listening to them scramble to find excuse after excuse as to why they continued to double charge us. Then declined to see the Banks side that showed them attempting multiple withdrawals for fees that were made up. Avoid them. Plenty of local gyms that care about their customers and do not mess with your money, support them instead.

I have never had a problem or complaint with the staff or the facility.. they do a great job of keeping their equipment up to date and clean.. even on busy days I never seem to have an issue finding or using the equipment I prefer. Thanks and keep it up

This gym is always crowded and it’s nearly impossible to find a good time to go where you can actually use the equipment that you want to. The owners are rude and not understanding. My card got lost a month at the beginning of the month and I have already accumulated 100 dollars in late fees from one month of not paying because I had to cancel my card. It took multiple Weeks just to get a replacement card, which in that time I accumulated and am forced to pay 100 dollars in late fees just because I didn’t have a new card to give to them. Don’t sign their contract unless you feel like giving away your right to your own money. Personally I would recommend planet fitness over this place and that’s saying a lot.

I joined the club in July of 2017 and maintained my membership throughout the COVID shutdown. I came in to the gym on Feb. 2, 2020 and told the girl at the counter that I was moving out of state. She knew that I was a member because she addressed me by name when when I swiped my card. The monthly charges continued until I closed my bank account and left town. Their collection agency is now harassing me. They say I should have read the cancellation part of my membership contract more carefully. This is an unethical business that does not treat their clients fairly.

This is a great gym with updated equipment. I like the pool area. Everything is usually very clean and well kept.

All they care about is your money. That sent out an email to all the members begin to not cancel their memberships because they were hurting during Covid and because they are small business. They are very unprofessional and greedy. The place is dirty, they don’t have enough equipment for the amount of money they charge they should have more equipment available so we don’t have to get in line to use a machine. Poor communication and very argumentative when you have a complaint.DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE!!!

I have trained in Eifermens gym and then the first Golds in Las Vegas when I lived there. I have trained at Golds in San Diego. Mesa Fitness is as good a facility as I have been in. I have lifted for over forty years, ten of those I was power lifting. Mesa Fitness is a great place for everyone to train.

Mesa Fitness has everything needed for a stellar workout ~ newly updated equipment, a plethora of classes & trainers, and friendly, knowledgeable staff.

Love the group exercise classes - many times offered throughout the week and the teachers are all very skilled and fun!

I have been a member for many years. They have the necessary equipment required for any workout. You cant beat the monthly rate!!

Poor customer service, poor business model. There is a hidden 30 day notice for cancellation, requiring virtually everyone to pay for an additional months membership after cancellation. Not worth the money. Not worth your time.

How do you expect to bring business to your establishment when you continue to switch up your policies on existing members along with trying to rip people off that you should be trying to make members. I came in for a day pass they raised the rates to $15 dollars and I don’t even get to use my pass for the “day”?? Until people actually learn how do do business this place will never succeed complete rip-off monthly membership price plus a $49 fee to start it’s like all your trying to do is rip people off and will be the reason this place goes out of business once again💯

Yesterday I called to talk to a manager to offer some feedback on why I will be discontinuing my membership after 2 years. She was not available. No voice mail. I talked to one of their dedicated employees (who works way too many hours) and asked him to pass along my feedback.I was professionally and politely listened to (I think?) and way-too-efficiently told how I could discontinue my membership. End of story.I could get into why I will be leaving, but 100 more will take my place, so it is not really worth my time to re-explain the gyms inequitable use of gym equipment and space!

Standard gym, but they really need to get adaptive equipment for those with disabilities.

Barre is incredible with Maggie and Michaela. I love lost 25 lbs in 11 weeks thanks to them. They are amazing. It’s a great gym with awesome childcare also

Avoid this gym at all cost. I called to cancel my membership and was charged months after cancellation. They made me pay a past due balance in order to cancel again . This gym is ran by theifs and liars. I recommend anywhere else but here

Exceptional staff. Price is affordable. Being able to go any time I need makes it all worth while. Love the cycling room with the big screen. Hot sauna and steam what could be better after a long day at work.

A good gym for all ages. The place is always kept clean and the equipment is well maintained. Has a comprehensive array of facilities including racquetball, a pool, nursery, and cardio cinema. Extended hours, friendly staff and on site trainers if you want that service. I havent done any classes but they have a good selection. No yoga classes that I am aware of. Some machines do not have TV access.

There is a wide range of equipment, weights, and machines to keep you interested and not so busy that you have to wait for one. It is busy enough to keep you motivated and inspired. Nice lap pool, sauna, steam room and hot tub with a clean locker room and showers. Open 24/7 so no excuses.

This place is the best gym in town. Lots of equipment that is new, and kept clean and new. You can pretty much practice anything here and exercise anything here. It was the old golds gym, and I already have a membership here. I love the new treadmills!! :)

Have been a member for 8 years. Now as Mesa Fitness, it is not open 24 hours a day. The pool is cleaned during business hours Friday afternoon 3:30pm. This should be done when the gym is closed. Lots of time for that now as they have cut hours of operation.

UPDATED REVIEW:The recent upgrades have been much appreciated! New squat racks and benches were very needed. No complaints except for the location of the squat racks. They should be facing the mirrors.Old review:Been going to this gym for years because its convenient and I liked the atmosphere but, with the amount of people they have, its ridiculous that they only have two squat racks and two flat benches. If you work 9-5 and would like to lift after work, forget doing squats, deadlifts, bench press, basketball, etc. Instead, you can try your luck with the many machines that seem to always be broken every other day- not to mention the basketball court and turf-lifting area is almost always closed during these times due to classes (even though you pay for this area).

Amazing atmosphere, huge variety of equipment, and super affordable prices. Our entire family loves the whole gym, the kid center and the tanning. Super friendly staff and supportive hardworking members, plus a smoothie bar with vegan options...its an all around win in our book!

Love the gym love the staff but I have been apart of lifetime fitness la fitness golds gym and planet fitness and I have never seen a dirtier gym in my life..the scale in the bathroom had a imprint of athletes foot dust..pool had chucks of chlorine that couldnt desolve because the levels where to high and you can literally smell the nasty when you walk in the door ...

Mesa Fitness is all about helping people of all ages and ability levels reach their personal health and fitness goals. Love the wide variety of people who work out there. There is something for everybody and the group fitness classes are by far my favorite! Each instructor truly cares about inspiring and encouraging everyone, from first timers to advanced athletes.

Once a member, always a member.....Been trying to cancel nearly a year nowTheyve never returned phone calls and when you are finally able to get ahold of someone they tell you to send an email.... which is never replied to.....Im not sure what more they want to let us out of this contract... we live in TX since June of last year....

This place has become a bar scene without the alcohol. Been coming here on and off since way back in Golds days. Most folks just trying to impress everybody else. Not a dedicated gym anymore. Cancelled yesterday and although the girl was respectful, all she seemed to care about was how much I owed on my contract. No interest in improvement in any way. Seems to be all about the money.

Mesa Fitness is always a great place to go. They have good machines and a good environment. The showers and locker room or usually clean. I like that they offer free coffee in the morning and I like that they have friendly staff always available to help and show you around the facility.

With the transition to Mesa Fitness, not much has changed in the gym other than the branding and new paint job. This is a good thing. The front desk staff and trainers all are great offering a surprisingly cheery hello even at 5am. The WiFi has improved and its nice to be working out listening to tunes without racking up data. Ive been impressed with how quickly weight machines get fixed on the rare occasion they have an issue. Great facility and great people, keep it up guys.

I moved away over a year ago and they are still taking money out every single month since I have canceled. I have called countless times been told either sorry management is not in or to send an email to a different person each time. Nothing has changed still charged each month. Sometimes even twice In a month. Being over 1,000 miles away I can’t do anything but keep calling. So be aware. If you get a membership it might just be for life.

Great gym with some great features. Coming from a small gym their selection is overwhelming. Would be 5 Stars but the I have a couple of frustrations. Great prices and the membership people are very friendly. Summer rates are amazing.

Its a decent gym with a lot of equipment. There is a good selection of cardio equipment, cable machines, functional fitness, and a decent free weight area. The hours are good and the location is convenient.The few negatives are that no one wipes down their equipment. This has been something to get used to after going to clean gyms for years. I have not seen the staff cleaning or wiping down anything or putting weights away. Since the bench press areas dont have enough spots to rack weights so there are plates just laying around or piled onto the storage areas out of order. The others gyms I have been to always had staff keeping the gym clean and picked up.

Rashad gets the worst customer service award. Everyone else besides him is amazing.

Great GYM for all your fitness needs. I hear they are adding more yoga and guided meditation classes.

This is a very complete local Gym, obviously since it was previously a Golds. It is a great place to go and do your own level of workout! They have everything you may need or want in your exercise facility!

Great gym but the turn over in personnel not so much. The new staff are not friendly and act like you are bothering them. Also no towels on the front desk anymore.

I have been a member on and off for 7 years never had an issue with Golds Gym. This last May I found that I was going to need surgery, I had talked to a tall muscular Guy at Mesa Fitness about my surgery to inquire about suspending my membership until I was well enough to go to the gym, he said it would be no problem to put it on a medical freeze for 10$month with a doctors note. I had surgery in june and was out for 6-8 weeks in July I had accompanied my sister to the gym but was not able to do any activities. In August I had brought in my Doctors note(which excused me from may to September) & tried to fix my account because I paid full price for may and june. I was told they could not back date, which I understand because I procrastinated in bringing my note. I have been trying to take care of this at one point spoke to a Sara who had said Well we dont even know what you had surgery for and it seems like your only bringing this up because your past due I was taken aback to imply that I was making it up for late fees How did I fake a doctors note and if you think so cant you call and verify? Since then I have been dodged by the General manager Kyle S told multiple times I would get a call back never did. Today I decided to go in and see if I could take care of it, because I like the gym. I was not met with any manners whatsoever It was clear that he did not want to help me. I just wanted pay my membership and resume my road to a healthier life. I was told that he talked to me on the phone and that there checkins on my account 1 of which was on 6/19 I had surgery 6/20 I can assure you that I was not at the gym the night prior to serious surgery. I was treated with no respect and was told my acct.was in collections and I could deal with them. I was mortified I had brought my nephew and his fiance with me because they had thought about joining, needless to say that will not be happening, Im heartbroken because this has been my gym for years and I have to give that up.

Watch out for these guys if your looking to sign up for a gym. When I signed up I specifically asked questions being that I knew I was moving to Florida in 8 months. The 1 yr contract rates were cheaper then the month to month so I asked if I do the 1 yr contract there will be no auto renew. I was told multiple times that there was no auto renew on my contract. Now I live in Florida and they are requiring information from me to stop my contract from auto renewing. These guys are sneaky watch out!!! Other than that nice gym and nice members.

Love this gym! Great selection of equipment and classes including a pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room (ceanest steam room I have ever been in). Good smoothie bar and cardio cinema. Busy at the usual times (right after work) but there are other times that are not as busy. The staff is friendly and helpful and it does not cost an arm and a leg. Highly recommend!

Staff never has any clue about anything related to membership or accounts. Charges are randomly applied and rates change with no notice. Equipment constantly broken down. Floor in locker rooms is disgusting carpet which cannot be cleaned.

Overall the gym was okay, compared to the other gyms in town though its not my preferred. The staff is friendly enough when they notice you but all the equipment is on top of each other and disorganized so its hard to find what youre looking for. It does have a good pool though and the extra Fitness activities are overall nice.

BEWARE!!! I have been a member of this gym for 10+years. I’ve Also had a membership for my teenage daughter for 8 years... she is now at college, and no longer lives in grand junction. In trying to cancel her membership (they no longer allow transfers)😡 I’m being hit with a $100 cancelation fee!!! Bring back Golds Gym. The policies at the gym now seem to be purely for the money grab.I’m a very unhappy member

I love going to this gym, which is saying a lot considering how much I dislike being around people. I can just lose myself in my workouts and not have to worry about overcrowding. Everything is always clean, if something is broken it gets fixed right away, facility is organized, there’s a smoothie bar, a variety of classes, there’s a spa area, and friendly staff from front desk to the janitors.My only issue is that it’s not 24/7 anymore. Honestly, it’s the only reason I have been looking to switch gyms.

Just another corporate big box gym. This company is not concerned about its employees or members. Old equipment for a high monthly rate is trendy in this industry. Trainers come and go as the corporate entity soley cares about money numbers and volume and not team or career building concepts.*1 plus: Its big as far as square footage is concerned.

Love this gym. Never too busy. Always clean and the staff look happy to be there, haha. I never feel intimidated here and never judged. They are true to their slogan.

So far, becoming Mesa Fitness has had nothing but good results (on the Grand Junction location anyway). The equipment and facilities are clean and well maintained, the staff is friendly and professional and people are generally pretty polite.

Mesa Fitness is the perfect place for a stay at home mom to get some me time. My membership includes the kids club where my kids can stay for 2 hours at a time once a day and they both LOVE it. The daycare ladies are all super sweet too, so I feel safe leaving my babies there.I mostly go to the classes to see Maggie. (Also covered by membership) She teaches Pilates, Barre, and Spin and sometimes subs for Cardio Sculpt, Piyo, and much more. I was very nervous to attend any classes, but from the very moment I stepped into my first pilates class she made me feel VERY welcome. She coordinates the classes perfectly to the music and pushes you to your limit for the best workout youll ever have in your life! I also appreciate how she takes the time to give us a good stretch at the end of class. Ive only been going for a few weeks, but my body has already transformed so much!Im so motivated to go to the gym 4-5 days a week with all the amenities they have to offer. Id go more, but the kids club isnt open on Sundays which actually forces me to take a rest day, so its a good thing. I highly recommend coming here! Cheapest membership is $9.99 and I believe its only $10 or $15 more to add the kids club per kid.

Should be able to use basketball courts if the training classes are not using the courts. Only a few select times of the day the courts are open and nothing was said when signing up for a year contract. I feel cheated.

Ive been a member of this gym for three years now and have enjoyed it so much, I decided to become a group exercise instructor and pursue a career in fitness! Love the Mesa Fitness team!!!

Great place to work out with lots of amenities and not overcrowded.

Poor customer service. They make you fill out paper work twice and make you wait 20 minutes before telling you that if you do not live in the area you cannot get a free pass. Then the day pass is expensive. They wont let you in for a free pass if you dont live near the area so dont even bother. Suggestion for the gym is word of mouth travels faster. Remember the rule of 7, everyone knows at least 7 people and those 7 people know 7 people and so on. Instead I went to CROSSROADS FITNESS where they treat people very well even people passing through the town.

Group classes are where its at - body pump, cardio sculpt, spin and more. My only issue, and its likely a good one for the gym, is that it is a popular place and tends to get crowded. Also, wish they had another all-purpose gym for volleyball, and (more) basketball. The one they have has been taken over by their NLP classes.

So much equipment to choose from. Everyone is always so nice. And always kept clean!

Was double charged a cancellation fee upon cancelling my membership. Had to file a formal dispute, fortunately the bank I bank at found that my records were correct and Mesa Fitness records were inaccurate. Do yourself a favor and don’t get a membership here in the first place. Cancelling a membership here is a nightmare and money grab.

Starting to slowly but surely not like this gym. I started going to Golds when they were selling memberships out of an empty retail space in Clifton... It seems once they lost or let go of the Golds partnership or name theyve gone down hill steadily. The sad thing is that the there staff is awesome but they have new management that seems to want to come in and just mess things up... I have nothing but respect for the trainers and the ancillary staff but the equipment is definitely beginning to show its age. I would think a gym like this would have better means of treating their clientele. Oh and apparently chalk is NOT allowed anymore. Next Thursday g youll see is them getting rid of the deadlift platforms.

Be careful you dont work out in pairs or groups..... Their policy considers this freelance training, and NLP trainer is unprofessional.

Every so often, I have friends telling me to join their gym, however, I cant seem to bring myself to switch to another gym. While other gyms have aspects that I love, such as a track, or open twenty four hours throughout the whole seven days of the week, Ive grown to love using the racquetball court, and the sauna and steam room are welcome extras that I use nearly every visit. This gym also has a cardio theater, which is a room full of treadmills and cycles, and a movie plays on the projector screen. Mesa Fitness is a bit more expensive than the other gyms I have looked into, but they also have a lot to offer as well.My only real complaint centers around the treadmill area. Many of their treadmills have issues, from broken fans, to annoying squeaks every time you take a step. At this point, I always go to the same few machines that I know work well.

Terrible management and needs to be replaced. Bathroom and locker rooms are not cleaned regularly. Requested a machine get bolted down for over 5 weeks and never got done.

My boyfriend and I got a year membership with you guys, used it for a couple months and then moved out of town and didnt need it anymore, weve been trying to cancel our membership FOR MONTHS, you wont cancel it over the phone yet you wont return our emails that you claim is the only way to cancel and you werent supposed to renew either of our memberships after the year was up but for some unknown youve renewed both of ours and continuing to charge us! Im so beyond irritated with this company its not even funny.... CANCEL OUR DAMN MEMBERSHIPS, WE DONT LIVE IN GRAND JUNCTION ANYMORE!!!

Probably one of the best gym, complete with a pool/hot tub/sauna...and what about that cardio cinema, every Cineplex should be like that, watching a movie in a gigantic dark room on a real cinema screen and doing some cardio training...wow...its was perfect...thanks to all the super nice and friendly staff :)

My wife and I do not live in Colorado or Grand Junction for that matter and account was opened in her name and when I received a bill I immediately called them and told them it wasnt us they dont care they wont close the account unless I pay late charges for an account she never opened, Furthermore the staff there are a bunch of children who cant wrap their minds around the idea that someone else could open an account with someone elses name. And flat out refuse to help us they are also Reporting against our credit. I have contacted the local law enforcement

Rebranded Golds Gym. Been a member at least a year. Its a good sized commercial fitness facility well deserving a five star rating. Lots of cardio, lots of standard machines, 6-10 cable machines, over a dozen Hammer Strength, the free weights section is decent (one cage, one squat rack, two deadlift pads, two smith machines, etc), service is good, place is kept reasonably clean. Pricing is commercial gym pricing. Sign up at the right time for a long enough membership, you get a good deal. The day passes and short term pricing is expensive, as youd expect of most commercial gyms. Well worth stopping by and asking for a tour if you are looking for a new gym, regardless of your fitness goals.

I get the feel that the employees there are put through happy camps to brainwash them to smile and enjoy their jobs. Some weird phsycoshock therapy vibes man. Besides I get a feeling that Ive been there before. Oh wait, I totally have. Its called VASA Fitness, its like MESA but awesome, or should I say VAWESOME and without electroconvulsive employees. P.S. Mesa Fitness copied VASA Fitness brand. I made up the part about psychoshock therapy employees, they are pretty cool, but they did copy VASA Fitness. Good things, go fitness for the world.
