First we called them out Thursday, Friday and again on Saturday. So he (Mike) said that we needed gas valve and burners, so they were supposed to come back today. But I call and canceled, went brought the parts he said that we needed. Got ready to brake the unit down to replace the parts myself and noticed the gas inlet valve was partially closed. Opened the inlet valve and the unit works fine. Crooks tried to jack us..

Great company UNTIL THEY MAKE A MISTAKE. Completely unresponsive and dont care if theyve ruined your property. Installed a ductless system in our upstairs. Was not installed to drain condensation properly. Water poured out the front all over floor, through flooring/through the ceiling below. Its BEEN ONE MONTH. Ceiling is soggy and molding and needs to be torn out completely. Cant get anyone to call me back to rectify. AWFUL!!

Universal Heating and Cooling is awesome! My heat exchanger, on a combo air/heating unit, caught on fire a few days before Christmas. I decided to put in a duel fuel combo unit (heat pump/propane) and called 4 different companies. They came back with the second best price and had great reviews. Well, they lived up to their reviews! Their estimate and dates of delivery and install were dead-on. They did a fantastic job ensuring my ducts and returns matched the new tonnage, showed me all the ins and outs of the new wi-fi thermostat, and Patiently answered all my questions! They were very responsive, knowledgeable, polite, and efficient! Just put the air on and it’s working great, too! (BTW, I hired them on Thursday, December 31, Friday was a holiday, and then we went into the weekend. Even so, they obtained the unit by Tuesday and it was installed on Wednesday!) They also fixed a separate heat pump that never seemed to work properly. Highly recommend!

I have used this company several times on a recommendation from someone else. Every time I have called about a problem with my system, they have come that day, fixed the problem and have charged a reasonable fee. The staff who come out and the office staff are professional and polite. They tell me the name of the person who will be coming to my home. When the repair guy is on the way, I get a text with a picture of them in front of their truck, and a little blurb about that person. That is a little extra service that shows how customer minded they are. Would 100% recommend.

Been doing business with Universal for more than 25 years... They have always been very honest and fair.. The guys that came out today cleaned 17 ducts and two returns.. All work was performed.. They were here about 2 hours plus their travel time.. The quoted price was $600 which I agreed to and paid..,I think that was rather high but they have always been my go to people as far as heat and air..I got several lower quotes but I also know how some of these people jack up their prices once they are here.. Seems they always find something unexpected.. I’ll continue using Universal as they are a great company.. But they asked for my opinion so I gave it... Paul

What a great contractor! Our AC was icing up going into the hottest weekend of the year (of course). We looked at it ourselves, but werent getting the air as cold as it should have been. We finally have up on fixing it ourselves and decided to call Universal after hours and just leave a message hoping they would get back to us in the morning. To our surprise they answered the phone and we actually got to speak with a real human at 9 pm. They scheduled us for 8 am the next day. Our tech, Daniel, was awesome! He identified the problem within two minutes of being on site. He had a conversation about what the cost would be to fix the problem, as well as acknowledgement that this was a band-aid, and may not be a permanent solution. That being said, he offered advice and suggestions for the best way forward, but never tried to do any pushy sales or take an expensive approach to the problem. His method of low cost repairs that escalate if necessary are sure to be appreciated by any homeowner.

Daniel came out to our house within 1 hour of being called. I was delighted with the speedy response and especially with the professional manner and work ethic he showed. He found the air conditioning problem quickly, showed me the flawed capacitor, and repaired it quickly. I have never had anyone come for a change-of-the-season check-up, but I actually asked him if one was available. He explained how theirs worked, and signed me up with absolutely no pressure. I will definitely contact Universal for future heat/air problems.

Quick, dependable service without trying to sell me what I didnt need. I have 3 HVAC units that are only about 3 years old. Mike was quick to respond to my service request and didnt try to sell me on anything unnecessary. He did mention a few things that should have been done differently (which I completely agree) but overall said system was in excellent condition.

I have two ac/heat units that I needed to replace. I had worked with two other companies before contacting Universal. I found Universal online and read their reviews. Kerry came out and made his recommendations, replacing my Gibson units with Trane units. His opinion of size and what needed to be done made sense to me. A few days before I had scheduled my install, my unit in my home went out, no air, its middle of May and very very warm. When I called Universal on a Friday night at 8:00 p.m., Dan answered the call. I asked him to come the next day, he did, and he fixed the problem so I can have air until my new unit is installed this week. He was so helpful, courteous and kind, I so appreciated the excellent service and the solution to my problem. Its nice to sit in a cool house on a warm day. I am writing this from the comfort of a brand new system installed by Universal. In the heat and humidity of July in Nashville, I have my thermostat set to 75.I chose Universal based on the sales appointment. I tend to do business with people I like. I was given multiple options, and the low end package was $3000 below a similar estimate. I went for the high end because the salesman was able to explain how this sort of thing works. Which is why I a sitting at 75 degrees and no detectable humidity.Most importantly, the crew did an excellent job with installation. Nice, neat corners (this house had never had HVAC) on the duct work and well-placed units and vents.I highly recommend Universal. I normally wouldnt bother with a review, but I think this might help steer people toward a good decision. And Universal merited a good review.

Needed to replace a 15 year old unit, and received a quote later that day. Donato and two young men (very polite) arrived on time, and started to work. Mike came later. They were neat and courteous. They completed the work in a days time, but Mike had to come back the next day (Saturday) due to electrical problems that were unforeseen. There were bad breakers, both inside and outside our home. We have had several problems with the unit they installed eight years ago. While our air conditioning unit is still under warranty, we have been charged over a thousand dollars in the last year, and our unit is still not cooling properly! My next option is the Better Business Bureau. No company should be in business that cant resolve the problems their products represent!
