It took me a long time to find a good dentist. I am so happy with Dr McKay & his team, they are professional, skilled and have made me feel comfortable regardless of the type of service- cleaning, filling, etc. You never know when you go to a dentist if they are going to be good or not. I have been coming here for almost my whole life. Janet has been cleaning my teeth for over 20 years now! The staff here is always so great and welcoming. I truly have grown with this place and I wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else. Dr. McKay and Dr. Grossman (pre-retirement) have been taking care of me through cleanings, teeth extractions, and the occasional filling. The hygienists and doctors are always so friendly and professional, they’re basically family. Deciding to come here is an awesome choice!

I needed my wisdom teeth removed desperately, and everyone at this establishment was so helpful, patient, and transparent with me. The removal process was a breeze! I cant recommend Dr. Ronald McKay and his staff enough.

Update on my previous post. My son had the procedure done for his wisdom teeth and his procedure was a success. He had all of his wisdom teeth removed. After day one in recovery, my son did not complain about any pain. After the 3rd day he was back in school and had no complications. On our follow up visit everything looked great. My son healed very well. Thank you Dr. McKay and Staff for a job well done!

I love coming here. The office is very warm and inviting and the staff is always so friendly. The waiting area is a good size, but rarely are you waiting for an already scheduled appointment. My family and extended family in the area all come here to this office. I think that right there speaks volumes.

It’s 6:00 am, my tooth aches, my face is swollen, and the pain is spreading from my chin to my ear. A friend got me a referral for a local dentist, and I waited for the office to open to get an emergency appointment. I was apprehensive to make the call, having had many negative experiences, and I was also embarrassed for neglecting my dental care for so long, but the pain had gone on for 3+ days, so I made the call to Dr. Ronald McKay’s office in Glendale. I was immediately aware that Dr. McKay had assembled a stellar staff of caring, compassionate women who make you feel like your well-being is a primary concern, from the angel who answered the phone and fit me in that afternoon, to the kind and thoughtful woman who brought me a protein drink to insure I had something in my stomach, and everyone in between. Attitude and proficiency was A+++, without exception. Within minutes of meeting Dr. McKay, my trepidation vanished. His exam was thorough, and he was attentive to my concerns as we discussed my history and situation. I felt no pressure or judgment. He worked quickly and competently. Dr. McKay has a lot of new-fangled equipment but what I value most is the way he provides service with kindness, consideration and old-fashioned skill. He and his staff help me feel safe and I love the results. I have been a client for over 4 years and my teeth are healthier as over time Dr McKay has “upgraded” my old fillings and crowns. My husband had a tooth go bad several years ago and his previous dentist sent him to several specialists, and the end result cost thousands of dollars. The next year his previous dentist said he needed to go thru the whole routine again with a different tooth. He went to Dr. McKay to fix the second tooth but this time was better because all the work was done in-house and the savings were significant. The staff does their best to make my bi-annual check-up and cleaning like a spa experience. I appreciate how well Armineh cleaned my teeth. Claudia assisted Dr. McKay with my crown prep and made sure I felt comfortable during the entire procedure. Janett cleaned my husband’s teeth and gave him some handy tips for using his whitening trays. I consider my smile the jewelry I wear everyday and I am happy that Dr. McKays team of professionals are there to help keep it beautiful.

From the initial phone call to schedule my first (emergency)appointment to the end of my procedure, everything ran like clockwork. Dr. McKay and staff are professional, honest and kind, and the state of the art office is run efficiently. Everyone took great care of me and made sure I was comfortable at all times.I experienced neither pain nor bleeding during or after the surgery. As has always been my experience, the staff, hygienist and Dr. McKay are all wonderful. I had a very short wait ( less than five minutes) and they handled everything efficiently and with kindness. Dr. McKay is awesome! I woke up with a toothache and called his office. Got an appointment immediately. I went in and was told I needed a root canal. Dr. McKay did the root canal and 45 minutes later I walked out the door. No pain .... Best experience ever!!

They are very careful and fully explain what they find, watch, and plan to do. They even take pictures that they can post on a screen that show exactly what they are talking about during the consultation. Considering I am 75, some of my old fillings may need replacing with white resin of some sort. The old amalgam fillings can hold up but the mercury that is in them is problematic. BTW several of my newer fillings over the years are the resin type and are just fine.

I had a badly infected Tooth that had to come out. The process to remove the tooth and then insert a post and put a new tooth on it is a 5 month process. Dr. McKay has been as good as they come in his profession. He is so knowledgeable and reassuring, as he works on you. He continually ask how your doing as far as pain and does Not hesitate to do everything possible to ensure your comfort level is good. His staff are the best exhibiting a friendly and professional atmosphere in the office. I am fairly new to Dr McKay but he has made me feel like I’ve know him for years.Thanks Good work Dr McKay and your wonderful staff.

Dr McKay extracted four wisdom teeth from our 18 year old daughter today, and even though she chose to go without the IV sedation she had a very good experience. First they offered her a Valium to take the edge off. The upper molars came out, no problem. The lower teeth were impacted and difficult to remove; usually if the patient is fast asleep, it’s easy for the dentist to apply all the necessary pressure and ream away until the tooth pops out, but when the patient is awake that kind of activity can make them anxious. When our daughter started to act anxious and worried (there was no pain, just a lot of pressure), Dr McKay stopped the procedure and called me in. After I checked to make sure she wasn’t feeling pain, I told her it was going to feel very strange but just let it happen and it will be over soon. They gave her a second Valium, waited for it to take effect, and just a few minutes later both lower molars were out. Our daughter had no complaints about the procedure, due to Dr McKay and the assistants’ wonderful communication skills and reassuring words, and their patience, taking the time to make sure she was comfortable with everything they were doing. It was great for her to be able to walk out of there lucid and not heavily sedated, although having witnessed that difficulty in the middle of the procedure I would only recommend the no-IV-sedation approach for people who can deal with some discomfort and have zero anxiety issues. He sewed her up well so there was not much bleeding. We were given clear instructions for how to take care of her as she recovers, and so far she is doing very well. Very happy with the outcome!

I had a bad experience a long time a gap with a dentist that made me so afraid to go to the dentist that I had not been in at least 12-13 years... but a wisdom tooth pushed me to a point that I had no choice but to go. I was in so much pain that I just picked a dentist near me with the best reviews... I called and was lucky to get in the next morning. I must say the experience was amazing from the second I walked through the door... I was a little worried because I didn’t check any pricing before going and the way they were treating me and the look of the hi-tech office made me think... oh this is gonna be expensive. Well guess what!!! It wasn’t any more expensive than any other place. Once I actually got in the chair the service was top notch, constantly being checked on... I was even offered something to drink and a blanket, I even had a personal tv to watch so I wasn’t just sitting there dreading what was to come a wisdom tooth extraction!! Oh boy fun right? When it was time to extract the tooth everything was painless... seriously. It didn’t hurt not one bit, only a lot of pressure, but no pain. Which everyone promised me, throughout... didn’t believe them at first but I was surprised when they held up to their promise. So with all that said... i can assure you... best dentist and dental team I have ever had!!! Hands down!!! Don’t second guess yourself, and no need to read any other post... I’m so sure it will be the best experience that if it’s not I’ll by you lunch.

After months of NOT going to the dentist and then learning my dentist had retired, I made an appointment with this office. It turns out my dental hygienist had moved along with the patients.I loved this experience. The office is clean, bright, and modern. The equipment is, too. It was lovely to see Narene, my dental hygienist, again.Several routines were different from the former dental office: x-rays, where to spit after the teeth are polished, the layout of the room.It was all good. I love this place.

The office was pristine as usual, but extra time and precautions were made to clean in between patients. As usual, Dr McKay was gentle and reassuring. His anesthetic shots never hurt and he reads behavior really well and checks in a lot during the procedure. Two fillings done!

I love this office, they are the most friendly and welcoming dental group I’ve ever been a patient of. Janet is the most gentle hygienist, I can honestly doze off fall while she’s cleaning and polishing my teeth. The staff always has a smile and willing to help schedule your next appointment or whatever you need. Dr McKay Is the friendliest and most gentle guy. I was referred to Ronald McKay DDS by my old dentist Dr Berg. We have been with Dr. Berg for almost 40 years, so it was hard to think about changing. I came to his office were the personnel made us feel comfortableIt was nice to see some known faces like Nadine and Daisy.After my usual cleaning it was found that I needed a new filling. This became a complicated procedure to a point that I needed urgent care.Drs Lai and McKay came to my aide and prescribe some medications for pain and infection. Then Sol and Linda help me until I saw Dr McKay again. He checked me and assured me that I will be ok. I have confidencethat I will be ok with my new dentists.

Dr. McKay repaired a cracked tooth, also removing an ancient silver amalgam, during a 2 hour period. Well done! I followed up 2 weeks later to improve the bite; he removed a small pointed structure that interfered with the teeth chewing correctly. Remarkable improvement and satisfaction.Follow up on April 14, 2021: regularly scheduled cleaning with Narine; excellent!

This was my first visit, aside from a cleaning, and I was impressed quite positively by the friendliness and professionalism exhibited by all members of Dr. McKays staff. Its obvious these people see the importance of teamwork. My previous dentist retired and highly recommended Dr. McKay as his successor and I certainly can see why he made that choice. Dr. McKay is personable and highly competent dentist that handled my somewhat difficult task without a problem and in a surprisingly short time while still being able to converse pleasantly with me. I live in Mission Viejo but I will certainly continue as a patient because of the very pleasant experience while undergoing a treatment for a repair one could only as describe as somewhat less than pleasant. I dont think things could have been handled any better.

I let reception know that I had arrived. They came outside to let me know that they were ready for me. All personnel had PPE. They took my temperature. They were wiping down the exam chair and drying it when I entered. State of the art equipment; friendly, competent personnel; Effective strategies for treating terrified patients. 100% BAD. I was told $1,000 for a root canal and then charged $1,600, he did not fix what I went in for, the tooth he did work on hurts all the time and when I cried ouch when he hurt me he yelled I dont hurt people!.

I have known when and how to better use my insurance and was clearly explained the different treatment options available. They are also great at prevention. The modern methodical design of the dental office with efficiency in workflow and with state-of-the art equipment is impressive. The dental office is safe to visit during the pandemic because the staff takes great care to sanitize all the surfaces for infection control measures. Masks and all PPE are used by both Dr. McKay and staff to ensure the safety of both patients and staff. He is surrounded by a small army of skilled professionals and a pleasant clerical staff to comfort any preexisting apprehensions. Coming to Dr. Mckay, you will find him friendly, honest, knowledgeable and highly skilled. Throughout the procedure he explains every step in detail while performing his art efficiently and with a light touch. Once the procedure is complete, he will provide detailed instructions, supplies and schedule a subsequent appointment to evaluate his work. In addition to the quality workmanship, you will take with you a meaningful quote displayed on his monitor, Excellence is not a skill, its an attitude.

Great dentist and dental staff. Positive atmosphere - very efficient friendly customer service. I love that they create the permanent crown while you wait. The skill level in that place is very high. They make it pretty effortless and I never have problems after having work done there.
