This was the worst rental car experience I have ever had. We usually rent from Avis but because my insurance was paying for the rental we had to rent from Hertz.Even though I gave them a two week notice the car was not there when I arrived to pick it up. The manager Jose never called me to let me know the car was not available . Jose had the nerve to tell me to calm down since he could tell i was aggravated; I was not raising my voice, I was just talking sternly. I got up early to drop off my car and pick up the rental, since I had just talked to them the day before, they knew what time I was coming in.We were driving to Colorado for our Christmas Vacation, we were headed to the snow. Once I received the car it was a disaster. The cars automatic tailgate was broken, so my wife and I got hit in the head a couple times. The alignment was off and the car pulled to the right, then I needed windshield wiper fluid since I could not see out of the windshield, but the wiper fluid was empty and then after we bought fluid we found out the windshield wiper fluid hose was disconnected somewhere. So my wife and I had to buy more windshield wiper fluid and locate the leak, all this was done in below freezing weather. Then the lid to the wiper fluid was broken and the fluid kept splashing out. The oil warning light kept coming on and I was not sure if there was an issue with an oil leak, so I kept checking the oil.I know some of this might seem minor to some, but when you are out in a remote area, in freezing weather, constantly having wet/frozen dirt cover your windshield to where you cant see, you would understand.
Reserved a car the night before as mine was going to be in the shop. Drop my car off and take a RideAustin here. Upon arrival I am told they have only one car and its SUV class. Id rented economy and wasnt about to upgrade. Im told I can wait as they expect an economy to be dropped off, but not until that evening, which defeats the purpose of a car for me. The employee then says he can call the Cedar Park location. They have a car and can hold it for me. Employee says since he has no incoming reservations he can also drive me there! Was able to get a car at Cedar Park, and for $10/day less.Overall, very unhappy with the corporate Hertz experience, but at least my day was saved by an excessively helpful local employee. Probably wont be returning, but if I do Ill call to confirm there will be a vehicle.
I am on my 12th rental with this location. I was using Round Rock but drive the extra 5 miles for the best service on the planet. I travel every week. Fly 52 weeks a year and Joses service is tops. From meeting me, dropping me off, waiting after hours he does it all. His service levels and performance trumps stores with 20 employees. Also sent letter to president of hertz and will ask he speak to some of my business classes on customer service
Car was fine, pick up was fine, drop off was easy. A day after drop off I receive a call from Hertz and she started her sentence with I gave you one rule, no smoking and no pets as if I was a 2 year old being reprimanded. She continued to claim the car was covered in pet hair, we cleaned the car before returning so that was a shock. There may have been traces of pet hair because a pet owner was in the car and may have been on her clothing. Had she called to address this politely I would have been fine but rudeness is not ok.After posting this same review with Hertz I have been charged an additional $44, 3 days after drop off.
Havent done business but either closed or number disconnected.
Very professional
