Took a group of junior highers here today and they had a great time. We were really thankful for the great staff that helped us with all our needs. Highly recommend this climbing gym.
I was here for a concert. Future Twist was fantastic. That being said, this place would make a better late night club over a venue.
Great gym for training. The high quality of setting was matched with a good variety of problems. One would definitely see huge gains in both strength and technique if they were to spend time here. I was just passing through but thought it was well worth coming in.
On the scene in Garden City for more than 20 years is this indoor climbing facility at the Glenwood Shopping Center.Idaho is a state with innumerable world-class climbing locations, and if you want to develop your skills there’s no better place to begin than Asana Climbing Gym.You can get a day pass for one of the most challenging workouts you could hope to experience, while the gym also offers multi-punch passes and membership for up to one year.Practically every surface here is covered with climbing grips, and as well as a helpful and experienced team of staff there’s an comprehensive schedule of activities. These include climbing classes for all ages and abilities, yoga and aerial arts sessions, ecstatic dance and youth programs from after-school climbs to summer camps.
Super cool gym, reasonable pricing and lots of bouldering stuff. If youre more into toprope stuff Id check out the commons, but I prefer Asana as a bouldery kind of climber.
Love it here! My whole family has participated in activities here. The best is being able to share a challenging workout with my husband. We can each work at our own level, side by side! The staff is always friendly and calls us by name! Thank you for this wonderful atmosphere to experience bouldering, top rope, weight training, and more!
First off, the staff are what make this place amazing for me, a member. My friends and I have a blast here! We signed up for one month and will be signing up for more. During our one month membership, the Winter Ball Bouldering Comp was happening. The competition was so well organized, clean, and fun! Here are a couple shots of the gym during the open category. Overall the staff are great, facility is great, and the bouldering is fun.
Great bouldering gym with very reasonable prices. Supporting them through covid has been a treat and theyve done their best to keep everything flowing ad smoothly as possible. Cosmic is great for yoga too, if you ever get the chance to join.
I just love Asana! They have an amazing staff and the bouldering here is the best. They also have some great sport climbs with automatic belaying. I go here almost daily and its a safe, fun, easy going environment. I havent tried the yoga classes or the silks but they looks really fun!
Super friendly staff, great bouldering and rock climbing, had an amazing time. The manager was awesome and treated up amazingly greeted at the door and reviewed all safety precautions with us and took us on a tour of the facility. He also gave us tips on how to do some of the more experienced climbs in the gym. My girlfriend and I are definitely coming back. Great upper body work out and has a gym for just working out.
Asana is an awesome place to climb. Doesnt matter if youre just starting or a pro, they have climbs for everyone! Great atmosphere!
I was delighted to make myself get to the place I was learning to make sure I got the communication within my body to coordinate effectively, and I was accepted and enjoyed seeing the opportunity to be making myself more capable.
If youre looking for a way to get motivated to exercise, this is your place! My husband and I actually want to go to the gym now, it is seriously a blast. We go almost everyday, we cant help it! The routes are updated frequently and there are always new problems to solve. Highly recommend, everyone there is always so helpful and there is everywhere from beginners to highly skilled climbers on the wall. Dont be afriad to try it out!
Very impressed with both the facility and staff. All people regardless of expertise are made to feel welcome and comfortable ! Just finished the Learn to Climb class with Nick and he went over and beyond expectations for each lesson. The Womens Club is equally as well run, Patti works hard to make everyone feel welcome and is incredibly patient and knowledgable. An awesome way to meet like minded people. Climbing has opened a new journey in recreation for me! I look forward to attending other events there!
This place is a fun way to get a workout. They have some many routes to climb it would take weeks to complete. You can rent gear at their location and they have knowledgeable staff. Fun place for families. This is a great way to challenge yourself. Definitely check Asana out.
Love Asana! Great staff, great routes, great exercise
Helpful and friendly staff. Safe and loads of fun.
Super relaxed atmosphere with really friendly staff and patrons.
Love the gym and the classes!
Excellent climbing gym. Mostly bouldering, but there is a top roping section. It has a few auto belays as well. Great variety of routes. Theres something here for all skill levels. And they change up a section of the gym every Tuesday so theres always something new. Staff is friendly and helpful. Fun community.
Best climbing gym in Boise and one of the top in the country. Great staff, community, amenities and location.
AMAZING team and AMAZING facility. Great for the whole family. We have been in several times now and beyond pleased with the service. All of the guys at the front desk were very helpful and both times willing to offer up deals that were going on that I knew nothing about. This to me is the sign of a great company, thinking first about the customer, not their profits!! Do yourself a favor and go try this place out. You will love it!!
Fun family outing! Walls are marked for easy to challenging levels and staff are helpful with tips and demos. Size 11 shoes seem to be out of stock frequently but they plan to order more.
Love the new location! Well, its not new, theyve been there a while, but I remember their previous location and this is a serious upgrade. The staff are very friendly, and happy to help if youre new to the climbing experience. This gym has a heavy emphasis on bouldering, only a few ropes are set up. Process are very fair, and they have some great package rates. Whether youre new to climbing and being to learn, or a veteran who has yet to try it out, this gym is worth a visit, there is something for everyone
Been climbing here a few times before and have never had a bad experience. Today I took my girlfriend to a top rope/belaying class and we were not disappointed! Our instructor was Scott and he did a good job of explaining not only how, but why you do things a certain way. If you are new to climbing you should definitely check it out. Ask for Scott, hes the bomb!
Im usually here for the aerial classes, but considering picking up more climbing. Great place, great people
LOVE Asana. First, there is an incredible amount picked inside this building, with its great new location across from the Idaho Fairgrounds. Top roping, aerial silks, slack lines, weights/exercise equipment, yoga room, a ninja course with 10+ obstacles, lounge seating for non-climbers, a gear shop, massage chairs, and of course— an amazing array of bouldering routes. Temperature is always great, and music is present but not overbearing. The clientele is passionate about the sport and very welcoming to newcomers, as is the entire staff. Whether it’s an idea of how to spend an afternoon, or honing your skills for a sport you already love, this is the place!
A little late on this review, seeing my membership ended well over a year ago. Did not have a good parting with this gym, had disputes over their hours which they have apparently changed since then (about time guys). They used to open at 10AM (M-F). I dont know why it had to take so long, I would have enjoyed their current hours while my annual membership was active, but they said it wasnt financially feasible and that probably wouldnt change. All staff AND the owner stated this to me. Its feasible now apparently? Go figure.
Awesome for a 5th birthday party. We had eleven 3-5 year olds and everyone had a great time. The venue basically handles everything for you, you just bring the cake, and decorations if you want. Kids who dont want to climb just swing or try the slack line, which is low to the ground and doesnt require shoes or a harness. You get your own party area, unencumbered by other guests and plenty large enough to accommodate the other parents and little siblings in your group. I wasnt sure what the little siblings would do. It turned out some were big enough to participate and the others had lots to look at and tons of room to roam around. The staff was awesome. Thanks, Asana!
Not what I expected. It was better. The staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming. They were very attentive to all our questions.
Large bouldering gym with plenty of space and a limited set of short autobelays and lead/roped routes. Pretty good variability of route setting. Has a nice little bar area to for refreshments 🍻 after climbing, a small gym/weights area, and a couple aerial silks, as well. The staff is great, it looks like a lot of former Urban Ascent staff have migrated here, which is great. There are frequent youth climbing groups/classes on weekday evenings which can make certain areas crowded but theres usually plenty of other space to utilize.
Fun place to go and really test yourself and your grip strength.
It was good. I was sore for a day after
The best, but kinda the only, climbing gym in Boise! Love the staff and the climbing community has been awesome to get to know and hang (ha) out with. Definitely give them a visit and take a shot at climbing. I dont think youll regret it!
Really digging the new location. Excellent placement right next door to revolution. This business has really expanded. Enjoyed watching the pro class climb here for the tournament. If you want to get in shape or stay in shape get a membership!
Cool, interesting for beginners and well suited for experienced climbers.
Asana is flippin awesome! Staff is always helpful and nice, and the other climbers make anyone feel welcome. The climbing community here makes the atmosphere super chill, anyone will help you with a route. The routes change frequently which provides for a fresh challenge every time. Super cool. Big facility with literally hundreds of routes to send. Also the ninja course?!??!?!!? Probably one of the best Ive set finger on. The prices are so bomb too. Totally recommend Asana 10/10!!!
Most weeks they reset about 1/6th of the gym so theres always new problems and always something for people of all levels unless youre Adam Ondra and you can crush any gym problem. I love coming here for an hour or two each day and working on stuff I havent solved yet. Sometimes Ill spend 30 minutes on just one route because when I finally do get it, it feels like such an accomplishment. Thanks Asana staff
Staff is nice and helpful. First time climbing I was so intimidated but now I know I can walk in there no matter who is on the wall and have a blast. Got earlier hours and everything!Wish other climbers would keep a closer watch on their kids (this is a GYM, not a daycare. Love when I’m up on a route and look down to see a kid two feet below me just going sideways around all the walls and I can’t even tell where their parents are) but pretty much everyone there vibes and it’s a great place to climb.
Ah! This place is the bomb. I recently moved to Boise and was looking for a good climbing gym to frequent. Asanas name came up several times and I sold the minute I walked in the door. The bouldering area is everything I want/need, the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, and they have a small gym inside so I can come workout days I dont want to climb. Great yoga classes as well. Really wonderful atmosphere. I cant gush enough. Grateful to have moved to a place with such a great gym.
I overall really liked Asana Climbing Gym. The employees were nice and helpful. I liked the variety of walls to choose from. I also thought it was great that the mats came up higher in cave, not as scary of a fall. It is a large location with lots to offer; climbing, weight room, hangout area with wifi throughout the gym, and other activities. I will definitely be back the next time Im in Boise.
Ive been climbing for 8 years and at Asana for the last few months. This gym provides an inviting community of people with a wide range of abilities. The routes setting is smart and regularly switched up. I also love the space dedicated to the workout equipment.
Started my bouldering journey here with a groupon and never looked back! The staff (especially morning crew) are super helpful and friendly. I like that there is a new wall every week with new challenges. I love the night climbs and other events, such as the adult climbing league. As a person new to Boise it is a great place to socialize and get a solid work out. Keep up the greatness!
Every time I step in to the gym I am greeted by the kindly staff people that sit behind the counter. There is so much climbing space and the amazing and talented route setters always utilize it so well! I can trust the setters to always have high quality routes and they never disappoint!! I love coming here because there are so many friendly folks climbing, I always leave with a new friend! :)!
Not just a climbing gym, but a community of people who happen to enjoy climbing. The owner is an amazing human dedicated to supporting climbers and growing the sport. The gym regularly hosts competitions, late night climbs, as well as leagues for adults and children. The staff and even the customers are supportive and encourage new climbers; youll never feel any judgment based on ability level or physical condition.Just come join up already!
My Grandson had his Birthday party here. Be sure to make arrangements for a party if you want seating. They are very thorough with instructions to avoid injury to climbers and spectators. Very nice staff and the kids had a ball climbing.
Ive been to the new Asana location several times this year. Everytime I travel to Boise I make time to climb here. Ive competed in two of their competitions this year. All of my interactions with the desk staff and route setters has been excellent. The route quality is superb and diverse. There has been fun routes at every grade I have tried. Definitely worth the visit.
I have been climbing at asana 2-3 days a week for months now, and it never gets boring. I love the diversity of the routes and walls, even if some of them are slabs ;). The holds are all fairly new and have lots of texture, and I love the color grading system. Everyone is super friendly, and happy to give you beta or a spot. It’s great to be able to walk in and know the setters and employees can goof around with you. Every time I go there it’s better than if I hadn’t.
Climbing is my new favorite hobby. Bouldering is relatively cheap compared to roped climbing, and where else are you gonna get high quality bouldering in the winter? 10/10 would recommend
Fun, awesome, family friendly, great atmosphere, everyone is friendly even to me comers and beginners. I visit this place regularly. A must try of you want to try something new or just try for fun. Well worth it!
Great climbing gym with a sizable amount of varied bouldering and a decent top roping / autobelay selection. Even at its most busy there isnt much worry about getting on the wall. Their cave and overhang make for some interesting boulder problems. The top out boulder and slab wall arent the most innovative but provide a good variety. The training area has a moon board, campus ladder, and a variety of grips. Friendly staff and a selection of non climbing activities, such as aerial silk, yoga, and a small weight and cardio gym, top it all off well.
I went into the old location knowing nothing about climbing and was very encouraged by the staff. They’re friendly and accepting. I think that’s what makes this place super ideal. The new location has an awesome atmosphere, better space and convenient hours. That plus a rockstar staff and you really have the best combination of a well rounded gym!
This gym has a little bit of everything.
Had so much fun free climbing and challenging ourselves! Love having rock climbing options in the valley!
Very nice facility and fun to take the kids to let out some energy. Most of the walls were closed when we went there because they were setting up an event for the weekend, but the guy working the desk gave us a discount.
Big gym. Routes are all under rated. To many routes have huge dynos V2 climbs feel more like a V4 holds are cheap. The kilter board is fun tho
I love Asana, this is a place I go to every other day(sone times more) to decompress. Asana has great atmosphere and very kind people working at the front desk. I love climbing so much, and Asana allows me to do that on a BIG scale. But as big as Asana is the quality of the routs are what counts, and the Asana setters do an amazing job.Thank you, and climb on!!!!!!
Ive been an Asana member since I moved to Boise in July this year and I climb here All. Of. The. Time. Friendly staff, great setting, with great attention to quality, even on beginner routes--certainly not the case at other gyms where I have climbed. Asana is ideal for anyone with any interest/skill level in climbing. With their help, Ive become a V5 climber--BOOYAH!
Best bouldering gym in the Northwest. Plus, the people are friendly and staff is great. The beer bar is a bonus too for when you are done climbing and want to unwind.
This is the place to be to get motivated. You can count on making some of the closest friends with staff and other climbers. They have climbing competitions, variety of challenging routes of all levels, room to breathe...it’ll turn you into a indoor climbing lover. I recently hurt myself outside on a fall...I plan on coming straight back in after ankle recovery. I will need to get in shape and in skill for their next competition! I wouldn’t go anywhere else.
Clean gym, and I love the holds and pads, but they have a youth league every weekday from 5-7. The club takes up the entire area, making it nearly impossible to get a good session in. Asana would have five stars if it wasn’t for their inability to control the youth club, while co-existing with other climbers.
Asanas gym is one of the best Ive been a part of. Great routes that are rated well with a variety of areas that feature different climbing styles. Its also such a supportive environment to climb in. Would highly recommend!
I love the vibe here. Even when I take some time off and am not a regular they are all. So nice to me
Awesome gym, but I have to give three stars because some of the walls have such a rough texture it will cut your skin if you fall, and will chew through your shoes. Other than that its great.
Awesome gym. Ive been to a few gyms and the setters here are great. They give appropriate difficulty ratings. The staff is great, and a fun place to Boulder.
Great place for kids who like to rock climb. Had a birthday party there and the kids loved it. Lots of people there practicing rock climbing.
I have loved my experience at Asana. All of the employees are very kind and outgoing. They are willing to get out on the wall make suggestions and help young climbers. They do a great job of making sure it feels like a family to anyone who climbs there.
After going to Asana about 3 times, definitely going to put them on my list for places to return. The staff are friendly, the gym is clean with lots of options for all skill levels, plus there is a free-weights area, and a yoga room! What else could a man want?!
Definitely the best climbing gym in Boise! With the bouldering and ropes and slack lines, you cant go wrong. With the amazingly friendly staff, you can only go right. This place is amazing!
Asana is an incredible facility filled with good people, good climbing, and good vibes. Everyone is friendly and inviting and everything is clean and aesthetically pleasing. Its a fun, safe, and really enjoyable place to be! Check it out!
A great place for sensory kids to run and play! The ninja course is great! He also loves the slack line. The staff is great to work with for birthday parties also!
Great variety of routes and grades. Not only is this a climbing gym but also slack lining, workout gym, and ninja warrior training. Dont miss the top roping to the right of the front doors like we did.
Asana Climbing Gym is by far the best inside bouldering around. They switch they’re quality routes often so that you’re guaranteed not to ever get bored. I go twice a week and it’s worth every penny.
Freaking amazing! First time at the new location, and can I say I love the new facility. Not only is it much bigger, but it looks aesthetically pleasing too! Asana, youve got my money!
Love Asana! Welcoming atmosphere, chill staff, and lots of diversity. The only thing that would make this place better is surround sound speakers and lasers.Marry me, Asana.
One of the best bouldering gyms I have been to! The staff are as nice as could be, prices are practical, and there are so many problems that constantly change so you never get bored! Not to mention the top rope area stays pretty quiet and the ninja warrior course is always a great challenge!
Awesome place! Wasnt too crowded (although I did go on a friday evening, so idk if thats a super busy time for climbers), and definitely the cheapest place Ive been able to get a day pass at. And cheap doesnt mean bad! I loved the experience, and the staff were super friendly and very helpful. Im very new to climbing (I can only do the first two levels, the third if Im not tired yet), and I still found a way to easily kill an hour in a very fun way! Will definitely be coming back and suggesting to my friends
Very fun. Tests the strength of muscles that you dont normally access. Great way to challenge yourself and for a beginner wanting to start climbing
Asana is the best. Super helpful staff, very clean facilities, and lots of fun bouldering/activities available. Always leave with a smile on my face.100% would recommend.
What a fun place. Very helpful, knowledgeable. Great work out.
I was a member of this gym when it was under different management as The Front. I liked it then, and I love it as the Asana Climbing Gym. The bouldering here is fun and creative. The management seeks out patron feedback and input on things like adding a new wall and moving weight equipment around. The setters keeps things fresh and the problems seem to be on 2-week cycles. Fun problems and fun people!
Absolutely love climbing at Asana! The people are great. The routes are great. The whole gym is great. Would recommend to anyone!
Clean large facility to get your climbing in!
A great place if you love bouldering. They also make great use of the space with the aerial classes. Call ahead and find out if the Youth Programs are running if you get impatient not being able to get on problems quickly.
High quality bouldering. A beer bar upstairs. Also has climbing gear, work/study spaces, snacks and drinks. Great staff
Great boulder gym
What a great space. It has something for everyone, from beginers to experts. Great staff who is at the ready to offer suggestions and help you on your climbing/bouldering journey.
I am new to bouldering and the people at Asana couldn’t be nicer or more helpful. The staff is always so encouraging and the atmosphere of the community will keep me coming back.
Great place to safely try out bouldering indoors before deciding whether or not you want to give it a go outdoors. No matter what level youre climbing at, youll be able to bring some try hard and have a ton of fun here.
They have done a fantastic job of staffing here! Everyone was so ready to help and offer up tips and tricks! Thank you!
I have absolutely loved climbing at Asana, never bouldered before and now attend 2-3 times a week. Everyone has a great attitude and the atmosphere is engaging and encouraging.
It was so much fun learning how to belay from their instructor Scott! He was incredibly knowledgeable and made me feel confident using all the new techniques.
This place is great, the environment is really cool, and friendly, its an awesome intersection between excercise and intellectual puzzle, never have a bad day going here. Its really easy to get into climbing here, they offer classes etc. This place rocks
Hours of fun for our kids!! Staff was super nice too. Thanks for the free bag of chalk.
The setting and training resources were pretty good, but not overwhelming so. This was especially poignant as it is a bouldering companys flagship gym. The staff seemed mostly apathetic.
Sure the ratings are soft, and theres a throng of gym rats every time you go, but the new gyms got some fun routes and sticky new holds to have fun on. The top rope/lead section is dull face climbing, and short, but also quiet and private because everyones there to boulder. The staff was rude to my new climbing friends, most of the staff didnt know how to lead belay so they couldnt certify them. When someone there does know how to do it, they re always to busy to do it, when there was hardly anyone in the gym. 3rd experience like this, had to change my rating. Dont even want to use my free pass
My wife and I came in a few times to try this place out. The first few were great and we started to get hooked! After a month or so, my wife went in by her self and when she got back, she said she felt a little uneasy about a person there. She mentioned a man kept following her around every time she came in. I didnt think to much of it, people are friendly here in Boise. It was when he tried to invite him self to dinner that I became a little concerned. After this happened a few more times we decided not to go anymore.
