We rented from Ricks spring of 2020 & will likely rent one when we arrive in Freeport next month (3/21). Rental was great & we used it daily to spend time at the beach. Anyone who claims they are unaware minors are NOT allowed to drive the golf carts is not being honest. Its plastered everywhere at every cart rental place in the area. If you rent one as parents & let your kids drive it thats on you including the consequences.

Tried for two days to get just two beach chairs and an umbrella mid September on a Sunday when a lot of people were leaving to go home. It was explained to me they didn’t have the manpower to keep up with demand. What?!? Next time I’ll plan ahead and bring my own. Won’t be calling them again.

After spending an hour looking for just kayak rentals alone, we called them and they set us up immediately and throughout the time we paid for it, it was perfect for us. Even pet friendly which is always ideal anywhere.We even got lost for an hour past our time and they not only came looking for us (oops @ us) they didn’t charge us and were SUPER CHILL & patient with us, it was fun. Perfectly set. Coming back next time I’m in Galveston beach.:)

We rented a cart from Ricks, my 2 high school seniors(booth Licensed and Insured in Texas), wanted to take it out and look at the stars and scout possible fishing locations. It was 10;30pm, Patton (17yr F) was driving when she was flagged down by Drunken Rick, he reached over, ripped the keys out and left her and Jackson (17yr M) stranded in the street. They called us immediately and said these drunk guys took our keys and we are standing in the street. Upon arrival I got to meet Drunken Rick and all of his drunken friends. Rick continued to spout drunkenly about don’t you know who he is, and he was taking the cart, with all of his drunken friends surrounding us and chiming in. We finally extracted ourselves from the situation.We werent told you had to be 20yr to drive, per the rental agreement, his employee took all the paperwork, and we had no copy. So you got me there Rick.If you like Renting Golf carts from men who love to intimidate young ladies and drunkenly surround paying clients, berating them about “dont you know who I am”. Then Rick’s is for you.There are so many red flags about this encounter from a business perspective and how Rick handled this, it really shows who you are dealing with when you rent from Rick’s.But at night, if you smell sour Natty Light, with a hint of AXE/B.O., BEWARE Drunken Rick is near.BTW reply however you want it’s all on video.

Stayed in Galveston Pointe West in mid June. We rented a golf cart from Ricks. They had it already delivered at our house when we arrived. We had a small problem with the cart the next day and when we called them about it they had another cart there in 20 minutes. No questions asked. Upon our departure they were there on time to pick it up. Courtesy and helpful they were.I highly recommend Rick’s Beach Rentals! We’ll definitely be using them again next year.😎

I had rented a 6 seat cart on the advice from a Concierge. I called 20 minutes after the scheduled delivery to ask when it would be delivered and was told they had me cancelled. When I told them I had not cancelled and would need one asap they delivered one and it had paint chipped everywhere, ran poorly and was rusted. It ended up breaking down and they had to replace it. The next one didnt run any better and we just parked it. I informed them the trouble we had and the lady on the phone was nonchalant about the whole ordeal. Not even a partial refund so just a bit of advice, rent from another rental establishment. Rick’s rental are not decent carts. At least the ones we rented were a POS!

Did not accept my American express because I made a comment if there were problems with the deposit of $1600 for 1 kayak and 2 paddle board Amex would deal with it on my behalf. A bit disappointing because like his business i was also protecting myself, reason I changed payment by my debit cards to Amex. At the end of the day we need not get rental he stated I was a risk.. Humm just protecting my interests..

We wanted to rent a golf cart on a Saturday and everyone one else didnt have any and also wouldnt deliver to where we were. So we called Ricks and they delivered for a fee obviously but thats ok. And they had some in stock. So we could rent one. Definitely will use them again. Pickup and delivery guy was nice and awesome. We also left there flyer at the rental we stayed at hoping others will use them.

We purchased a rebuilt Club Car from Ricks and we couldnt be happier with it. Their service is also excellent if you ever need any maintenance or repairs!

Great service. Good carts. We rented a golf cart for our stay on the island. Reservation over the phone, on the way to Galveston, was handled perfectly. Cart was delivered exactly ontime. Cart is in good condition, works well. Quick tutorial and easy paperwork. No need to try anyone else.

We had an exceptional experience with Ricks Beach Rentals. I took a Boy Scout troop to Galveston Island for a kayaking trip. They were very accommodating and flexible which was greatly appreciated. They delivered the kayaks to us exactly when we wanted them and picked them up when requested, even when we changed the time at the last minute. I didnt shop around too much so I dont know about price comparison but I do know they met all of our needs and we had a great time!

We were very pleased and thankful for how easy it was to meet up with Kyle and have the use of a golf cart to enjoy the beach . Our daughter uses a wheelchair and this was a great way to explore the island. He was very flexible and reliable which met our needs perfectly. Thanks Kyle!!

We had a terrible experience with Ricks Rentals of Galveston. I and 3 friends rented kayaks from the company. When Ricks employees dropped off the kayaks at our specified location, we were told to call and let a Ricks employee know where we were when we finished with the kayaks and they would come and retrieve them. Given that we had been told a pick up would be provided at our final location, we planned accordingly and went ocean kayaking a short distance away. When we finished we called for the kayaks to be retrieved and were told by the lady at the office that no pick up would be provided since the kayaks were not at the original drop off location. The requested pick up location was less than two miles from the drop off location. The lady at the office would not accommodate us. First she claimed that the road we specified for pick up did not have beach access. It did (13 Mile Rd). And then she told me the trailer needed room to turn around. There were hundreds of cars on the beach (including Civics/no 4x4 needed) and room was ample. She then backpedaled and said that no one would pick up the kayaks at our location (under 2 miles away from the drop off location) and that the owner would call us. The owner never called us. We called again and once again the office lady stated the owner would call us. We never received that call. As a result our party experienced considerable inconvenience and wasted time while trying to enjoy a weekend getaway. I was disappointed that a request so easy to accommodate was refused by Ricks Rentals of Galveston. I will advise my acquaintances to not patronize this business in the future because of this lack of customer service and professionalism. I will definitely not use them again. On a side note, I wondered why the other establishments in the area did not have inventory but Ricks did. I suspect Ricks level of inventory has an inverse relationship with the companys customer service. Plenty of one, none of the other.

We recently bought a Club Car from Ricks. We are very pleased with the information given during the sales process. Delivery was as scheduled and without a hitch. Both gentlemen that we delt with with were very courteous and informative. No surprises, exactly as they said it would be.

We rented kayaks from Ricks and they were great. we rented 4 of the 2 man kayaks and 3 of the singles for our family reunion in Beachtown. The staff was very friendly and super helpful when they discovered our lack of appropriate transportation to get them all to the other end of the island. The owner decided to help us out and deliver them and pick them us for us (with a charge gladly paid). Dustin delivered and was prompt! The kayaks were a blast and got us out into the surf to play with the dolphins. I would recommend Ricks Rentals to all!

Great experience with golf cart rental. We rented a bay home in Sea Isle the week of 4th of July and the golf cart was a great way to get to Marina, restaurant, beach, & pool. Loved it. Ricks delivered and picked up just as planned. Will be using them them again soon.

I have a golf cart in jamaica beach and it needed service. These guys came and picked it up and serviced it and returned it while i was gone. Cart runs great again and the price was very reasonable. Really appreciate it! So much easier than dragging a trailer down to galveston and hauling it somewhere! Highly reccomend.

I had ordered a golf cart 2 weeks early than on my way to Galveston I had receive a call saying it don’t cover the area I am sleeping instead of calling before my arrival date the call was unexpected and there is no more shops that are available no more what am I supposed to do

Rented 6 passenger cart for the weekend it was dropped off at 5pm on Friday and picked up at 9am on Sunday most check in’s on beach houses are at 4pm so if renting just fur the weekend you might as well just do one day rental because that’s all I got for $372 would have been nice to know in advance hope this helps future renters

These guys were great. I called and told them my problem. They diagnosed the issue and sent a Service Tech out immediately. They fixed my problem with a smile. I definitely recommend them.

Came down for surf fishing vacation. Rented a sit on top kayak to take bait out. First one made it out about 100 yards before sinking, second one they brought out was flooded after the first wave hit it. There were multiple holes where they riveted accessories on instead of using screws that wouldnt allow water in. Sit on top kayaks are suppose to be more or less un sinkable. Ive used many prior to this that stayed totally dry, very disappointing and dangerous if you are in anything but a swimming pool.

This place by far in Galveston has the best rates the best customer service and their golf carts are in great shape if you have an issue there quick to fix it I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and well be using them in the future for sure

Due to some confusion with a friend taking care of the rental for my beach wedding, things seemed to be going badly. Ricks rentals came through with emergency delivery. I cant think of a single company in a tourist town that has been more customer oriented. I will never rent from anyone else.

Go to rent a kayak, they tell us that some guy rented 8 of their kayaks. How do you operate a business with less than 20 kayaks in a tourist destination...shameful operation!
