I went to shop to see if I could make an appointment for later in the week. Due to hurricane Nick, other customers cancelled their appointments and my Tahoe was taken in immediately for diagnosis of an air conditioning issue. The repairs were made that same day. This was my first experience here and I will definitely be back for my repair needs.

I dropped car for diagnostics because it wouldn’t start. It turn but not starts.Picked up and paid $60 for “NO START: could not determine a problem”.So, I paid for hearing what I’ve already knew - car won’t start.Why do I feel like being scammed?Is it really takes 30 minutes to connect “code reader” to the car?I’ve been told it could be timing belt - another $300 just to check it. If it’s not timing belt - I’ll pay just to get nothing AGAIN.Reply to “the owner”:How about list of things checked? That would be helpful.

I brought my car here because my girlfriend lives close to the shop and it seemed to be a great shop. Little did I know.... the person answering the phone “Gerald” never got back to me. He kept promising that my car part would be there certain days and then when I received the car the mechanics said we couldn’t program the lights because of some “light issue”. Cue to me driving for a couple days I look at my third break light which is what was staying on and it was unplugged, wasn’t even in the housing and they didn’t even reconnect it and gave me back my car. I don’t care WHO you are, that is not okay a car should have a safety check because all lights should be working and if that was the main reason for it going in they should have fixed that. It cost like 1400 and they couldn’t even complete the job correctly

If they quoted 2.5 hours - that’s how much you’re going to be charged even if it was done in 30 minutes).But hey, you get what you paid for! (Expensive but good quality)

These guys were amazing! Weve been having problems with our Jeep Wrangler and no shop has been willing to dig into it. We came to Galveston for a couple of days of fun and it died on us on a beach. It was towed to Galveston Automotive Pros and they started to work on it immediately, listened to us, and dug into it uncovering the root of the problem. They also had to replace a starter that was put in 2 weeks ago in another town and got that part of the job covered at no cost to us through the warranty on the part. This place did a great job!

I was able to get my vehicle in to GAP in a reasonable amount of time. From my telling them of the problem they pretty much guessed what the resolution was going to be. Had my vehicle for 2 days and now is is running better than before. I know where I will be taking my vehicle anytime I need repair work done.

Im from out of town and our cars transmission was leaking oil from another mechanic put in a new transmission in this past week. Called these guys up and they said bring it in they took a look at it and assessed the problem. Told me what needed to be fixed. Didnt charge me a penny to look at the car. I took my car to this place and they quoted me an outrageous amount. These people may be able to fix your car problems, but they will squeeze every single penny out of you in the process. I took my car to a different mechanic, and even he was amazed at the quote that they gave to me. It is really a shame because I know that there are bound to be single moms and other hard working individuals who are getting taken advantage of simply because they dont know the true cost for the actual labor and parts involved. Please do your research for basic repair costs before you take your automobiles to this business so that you can at least have the upper hand and begin to negotiate the cost down to a REASONABLE price.

We went to Galveston for a quick vacation and when we arrived we had quite the dramatic issue with our car. The car was towed to GAP the next morning and the speed, kindness, and service that John, Gerald, Tim, and Johnny provided was comforting and professional. The car was repaired the same day which surprised me. We had a secondary issue the following morning and we took the car back to GAP. Again, the team was fast, efficient, and even empathetic to our situation. The car was fixed and we made the 5+ hour trip home without issue. In every town and city Ive lived in, I have struggled to find a good auto repair shop and a decent veterinarian. Discovering Galveston Auto Pros has been a relief - I fully trust these guys after my first experience. The prices were fair, the service excellent, and the mechanics very knowledgeable. Every employee I spoke with at the shop seemed to truly care about their customers vehicles. The mechanic working on my car sent me updates via text message and even dropped my car off to my house when it was ready. I will definitely be back!

I just had my oil change done here. 7/5/17. I am from out of town and observed their operation for the past hour while waiting. This is a top notch place and Johnny and Gerald were outstanding. Only recommendation would be a bigger waiting area. I would not hesitate to get any work done here and I live about 900 miles away. A great place to have your car work if needed while on vacation.

They were supposed to diagnose the problem with my car they said they tried to start it. It wouldnt start. So I need a new motor they tried to sell me a motor with 120000 miles on it for 3 thousand dollars I did my own research eBay sells brand new motors for 900 dollars with 0 miles I would highly recommend not take your vehicle to this shop worst experience Ive ever had with a mechanic shop

I took my car in on a Wednesday: my battery light was on after installing a new battery and I figured something might be wrong with the alternator. Being someone that doesnt live in the area (Im a student) I was wary of any of the shops here.The staff were very friendly and professional, making sure to let me know they may not be able to look at my car the same day because they were very busy. They also told me they would call before any work was done (something I appreciate). The same day they called and said it needed a new alternator, and quoted me a fair price. The next day it was ready and running great.Would recommend this shop to anyone else I know in the area.

Their patience and work was done well but they left alot of air still in my breaks when I got home I had to bleed them myself, but they were helpful in the main repair of my break line when I had to keep it over night when I forgot my lug nut key
