So I don’t usually say this about a Internet/Cable service but…Nathan Woerter is by far one of the friendliest people I have ever met and very knowledgeable. Excellent customer service and polite beyond compare. This is a team member any company would love to have working for them. If he was looking for a new job, he would be hired with me in less than a minute. FANTASTIC!
Unfortunately Cox is the only internet provider in my neighborhood. There have been outages for months and while theyve have acknowledged the problem is with their network, they have yet to resolve the issue. I have been told the problem is fixed only to find a few days later service is down again. The wait times for their service number are at least 20 minutes and Ive repeatedly been on the line with them for 30 minutes to an hour. I am so over the runaround, they can neither provide dependable internet service or communicate with their customers.
Our customer service agent, Nathan, was super helpful! He answered every question we had and helped us switch our service to a more fitting option. He went the extra mile to ensure that we had everything we needed.
Ron was the associate who helped me. He was very calm and pleasant. He made several corrections to phone order I had placed which will expedite my installation next weekand better ensure I have the coverage I need.
Easy to find this location. Didnt have to wait very long for assistance. Picked up equipment. Hopefully it will be easy to install
I really get a satisfactory answer but I was directed towards someone that I could call to help me.
Cox will be like lightning taking your money - but try and get them to your property to fix a problem??? Having a root canal is less tricky!!!But whatcha gonna do? Nothing! Have to bite down hard and bear it. Dig deep for extreme patience and persevere. Good luck!
My bill just went up drastically. They said i was on a promotion. I was never told that and it is so disappointing. I am a single parent on a budget and can not afford any high increases like that. A total Bush move my Cox .
Its obviously been awhile since I was last at the storefront on 43rd, because I attempted to utilize the drive thru window 🤓 ...with four little kids in the backseat there was really no other alternative. Thankfully Jeff just happened to be moving equipment between offices and was willing to help with my request (replacement of my Contour remote) - super quick and friendly swap...Jeff went way out of his way to help a mom on overload - thank you!!!
The people Ive dealt with in the store have been very nice, so this is not a reflection of them. However, customer service is absolutely terrible. Third day in a row that Ive dealt with them bc I have no cable or internet connection. Was supposed to have a technician here between 5-7 today. No show...called and they say no one was scheduled. Its a maddening circle with these people. As much as service costs there is no excuse for such poor service
The customer service is slow and all around terrible. I am surprised they are even in business - horribly managed since they dont do anything in a timely manner and appear to have awful record keeping. They make promises to update you, then never do. Say they will show up after 1 week of no wifi, then dont show up. Pinnacle of bureaucracy gone wrong.
Always friendly and helpful staff members! It has always been a positive experience going there.
Good people, poor customer service.
The service is outstanding and the staff are always very knowledgable.
Short wait, competant help. They will upsell you but sometimes it cuts your bill.
Truly horrible and uncaring customer service. i have to give them one star to review. There should be a -5 star. And, its a monopoly. i cannot cancel my service and go to another internet provider. I have to sit there and just take the fact that theyre going to bill me, and Ill get no service. Its truly sad. Here are pictures of what they consider to be service restored.
Good customer service thanks Ron.
Awful reps, awful company, awful service & prices. They had a monopoly in cable and internet in GNV forever, until recently when AT&T started offering fiber internet. Even though I dislike AT&T and their unethical corporate practices, they are still better than Cox.
Had a much better experience this time.
Absolutely disaster company, internet is off every day, called few times, they want an additional monthly charge just for detail diagnostic.
Great internet high prices but least you can play fortnite.
Ive been a customer for 28 years great service
Worst customer service of any company Ive ever interacted with. Period. Just say no!
This is the worst internet company EVER!!!!! If I could give zero I would. They failed to port my 14 year old number told me they did and found out a week later my number changed. They never show up when they are supposed to. Their billing is constantly messed up and they never credit you when they say they will. I have to reset my modem all the time. Internet goes out regularly and you will NEVER get advertised speeds. They are willing to give great prices to new customers but never want to work a deal with existing one. Worst company ever. Wish GRU fiber or Google fiber cane to my house.
Without notice raised my bill 25%, customer service basically said it is what it is,was told my initial rate was a discount rate that had expired, I was assured when signing up that my rate would not go up. Im on a fixed income and feel they know during Covid that they can take advantage of you knowing youre stuck at home. Not happy at all.
Very helpful very friendly and professional😀
Worst cable company ever. I have had seven different techs come out to fix cable freezing issues. Each time different sub contractor that cant fix the issue. Each time they promise to send a Cox Supervisor, each time its a subcontractor with no previous work order history. Its like they want you to cancel.
Came in to swap out a bad panoramic modem. Was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Location was also easy to find and access, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Remember to check in on the tablet at the entrance!
Good customer service
Horrible customer service, not worth the hassle!!!
Very importantWhen you pay more on the Internet, it is bad and intermittent
Worst customer service with ludicrous prices indicative of a monopoly. Tells you all you need to know with a 2.7 review rating servicing our conmunity!!
Thyroid did me great service
Cox Gainesville has one of the worst, if not worst coverages in Gainesville. I constantly have outages that take hours to repair, customer service makes up lies about why there are outages and I supposedly pay for 150mbps but I barely get 50mbps. Don’t use Cox, especially in Gainesville
Service was quick
Person good person
Rich was very pleasant and helpful.
Very helpful
What a joke. Less than one star if I could. Like how they capitalize the area to give you the best experience. On the phone for over an hour to resolve internet inconsistency. With no avail. Good job Cox on screwing your customers
They don’t answer there phone very well. Hopefully there customer service will be better than that. Let’s see.
Worse experience ever on the list of the top 5. It would be a dissertation if I listed all throngs wrong with the service and how people at this company handle issues.
Very welcoming atmosphere. The employees were very friendly and knowledgeable. Ron (Cox cable employee) helped us find the perfect plan for our family.
I visited this Cox store to return some equipment. They were efficient and easy to work with. No sales pitch for new services which was great!
Employees very helpful and knowledgeable
Had a great experience with Cox. Shane was very helpful and a pleasure to work with. He was very knowledgeable and explained things very well. He and the other workers that were there with him seemed to have a great dynamic which made the experience an overall enjoyable one. Definitely a 5* rating!
The folks in here were super helpful and clearly trained / followed customer service protocols, but they need more people, a better system for assisting, and/or some self-help options for easy transactions like returning. It was painfully slow while the two customers in front of me went through the entire channel line up for each package.
I think that Cox Communications is a good reason for Google to change their rating system so that you can give companies NO stars. I mean one star sort of implies that they deserve it. Too many reasons to list.
Outstanding customer service at that store. Pulled up to return cable box.... just barely got out of my car to carry the stuff in and someone came out to greet me and help. Super friendly.
Very helpful. Im wearing a boot on my foot due to surgery and was carrying a lot of equipment. One of the Cox Agents came outside and offered assistance. Thats great customer assistance!
1) Dont bother calling them, they dont answer the phone and they dont check their messages.2) Dont be in a hurry - even with 4 agents and 3 people waiting in the lobby it took almost 20 minutes to get to an agent.3) Expect to be greeted on arrival and seen to the door on the way out - because, obviously (sarcastically) they dont have anything else to do.4) Better than Social Security not as good as DMV.
The customer service is good, but the price of their services are so expensive. A new customer gets reduced and better services. But, those who have had services are a period of time are paying way too much for service. Cox doesnt have incentives for their valued and loyal customers. The customer service is so good, but the service and what they offer to customers is very expensive. Direct TV will offer just as much if not more for less money.
I waited over 30 minutes in the lobby, I left!I hate this company, always have, bad service and over priced. They do not care about their customers.
I came in to pick up a new modem before moving to a new apartment. I was told multiple times by the service tech that the new modem would work in my current apartment after simply plugging it in. Once its time to move, he simply said take it to the new apartment and plug it in and it would work there. It didnt work in old apartment and I had to spend 3 hours on the phone with cox to make it work. Of course I later moved and its not working here. Now a service tech has to come out. For a simple move, this has been the absolute worst experience. It all started at this location (possibly related to poor training or dishonesty).
Turned in router. Canceled internet service because using T-Mobile internet now. Less expensive for same service.
Dropping off my internet box was quick and easy. The man even held the door for me and my daughter. And he even changed the tv channel to Minnie Mouse for her.
I went there yesterday to pay a past due amount from last year and after I paid they went over my best options for the plan that would be best for my online use and got my service reactivated and went home with the equipment and had internet last night. Great service and they took care of everything in a timely manner.
Terrible. Ive called in so many times, and they are always befuddled as to why my speeds are nowhere near what I pay for. I have the latest, greatest equipment, and they just scratch their heads. The bill always comes in the mail, though!Update: Had them come out and immediately tell me my equipment was incompatible. Had him test another modem I knew worked. Told me that one was bad also. Then magically found some wires in the wall that were split too many times. All my faulty equipment now works fine. Then I get a charge on my next bill for professional installation, I installed it all myself. All you have to do is call tech support and change your MAC ID to the new routers info...more like a professional scam.
My client at The Windsor experiences her service going out almost on a daily basis. Please fix this issue. This home is locked down because of Covid 19 and all these residents have is their TV.
Like any cable/satellite/phone/car store, they will push upgrades down your throat. Stay strong. Keep your wits about you. That said, Ive never had a problem with the services they sell.
Wonderful employees, wonderful service, very expensive plans
Finally got someone to help me with the horrible service that cut out every 5 minutes. said they could send a tech out at a potential fee of $75. BUT, and get this, in order to not have to pay that fee, I could buy insurance at $10 a month. thats right folks I could pay $75 now or $120 PLUS tax over the long run. God I cant wait to live outside the COX monopoly zone.
They have the best customer service inside the store
Horrible! I would give them no stars if that were an option. No communication, rude customer service and charging ridiculous prices and hidden fees. Would never recommend cox to anyone on the planet!
Very knowledgeable staff - be aware they will tell about cool new products and services(I have gone in to simply return equipment and left with new cable boxes and faster internet...and a higher bill)They do a great job as sales people...but I dont appreciate having to wait in line to return equipment for services I have cancelled and potentially getting upsold(why I am rating 4 stars)
Went in before noon nobody in line walked straight up
A pleasant surprise going to store . Mari was friendly and helpful. After having a frustrating experience on the phone setting up internet included with apartment . A little inconvenient to drive but worth the trip.
Every experience that I have ever had with Cox has been terrible. Do yourself a favor and pay the extra money for a better service. Its definitely worth not having to waste the hours trying to fix the service you already paid for.
Took back my equipment and shut off quick and easy. No wait time.
Someone called, did NOT identify himself and when my wife told him I was not home, he hung up. No message, no infoI have requested that I be removed from their calling list. They assured me I was put on the DO NOT CALL list that they maintain.
Much better experience in person, their sales people on there 800 # need some training on how to treat people!!
I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau about them. Maybe they will get the hint and start hiring people that actual do their jobs!!!
I had to switch out my remote control when, after years of faithful service, the thing just died. I waited less than 5 minutes for a person to help me at the Cox store on 43rd St. They exchanged my old remote for a new one, then showed me basically what Id have to do to pair the new remote. Went home, but the directions on the screen were slightly different and more complicated than expected. I called my man at the store (Bobby--he was so great!), who walked me thru it as I read him the screens. Eventually we got to a screen with 26 (no kidding, twenty-six) codes, each of which might have to be checked. By then tho, I had the pattern down. The 6th code worked. I can control several things more than I ever could with the old remote. (FYI the old and the new remotes are the same model.) I attribute this to a better set-up--either because Cox revamped it or because their employee Bobby knew better how to implement it. A very happy experience that took no more time than it did to write this post.
Service reps are great and have patience with customers who are just plain rude. The service is the best. I have had Cox over 10+ years, 7 in Gainesville and 3+ in alachua and have never had a problem with my cable or Internet. Make sure to keep up with updated equipment every year or 2. Great stores in the gainesville area :)
Friendly and courteous cashier, fast service. At the moment, she was the only one working and still managed to be friendly and professional. Thank you, E.
Very open and clean room. I was serviced quickly by a kind man. All employs smile and shake your hand, and where so willing to help me with my questions.
Interesting some people think its reliable. I guess in my experience I dont have enough hands to count the outages Ive had over the last 4 years. I have outages about 3-4 times a month, they are not long outages but outages none-the-less. Ive lived in MN for 13 years and had less outages during my time there than the 4 years here. If you want cable I guess you might be stuck with COX.
Horrible customer service! Cox SUCKS! DON’T EVER GET COX. They promise you all these channels for a price and i have a print out of the channels i was promised and yet after being able to watch HBO and stars for 2 months, all of a sudden it says i have to subscribe which is strange. So i call cox, explained the situation, of course they cannot help me and don’t believe me . The sales person who set this up for me in the beginning listed the channels for me and said a guarantee price including tax, AND NOW, instead of pay $117 like promised, I pay $132 a month and have to pay extra for HBO. so then Starz came off our channels now, and they’re trying to make me pay for it. SCREW COX. that is why no one goes with cox and always talk crap about cox. i definitely see why now.
Cox is hands-down the worst service in the US. Windstream doesnt crash nearly as much as Cox and there only in the county. I unfortunately have screwed myself royally by singing up with Cox home and especially with Cox business. My business location was without phone or Internet for over 5 HOURS with not a single drop of rain in the sky. My business suffered greatly because of this horrible group of individuals. They claim to want to help the local economy but all there doing is helping themselves to our money and offering NOTHING good in return. 5 hours during lunch time when businesses are the busiest. 5 hours to fix a problem, how does that help my business?!?!?!? The business location right next door to me did not lose ANY service because they have AT&T!!!!!!! Cox is HORRIBLE! My income has suffered greatly because of these horrible people!!! Do not use COX CABLE for ANY of there services!!!!!!
Expensive and bad service. I wonder if there is a way I could give cox less than 1 star. I hate the fact that there is not any real competing company for customers to go to.
I was with Cox for about 5 years. I attempted to unplug the security system from the wall, so that I wasn’t charged a fee; however sparks flew and I almost was electrocuted. Cox “said” they would waive the uninstallation fee, as I felt unsafe to unplug it myself. A week later, I see a charge for $105.93 FOR THE UNINSTALLATION FEE!!! I had to call 3 times before finally being able to get connected to a supervisor (the other times I was disconnected). The supervisor named Tyson ID# 19274 said he could only offer me 50% off, because NOTHING WAS WRITTEN IN THE NOTES. Cox wants to make any penny they can off of you. THEY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS, EVEN IF THEY ARE IN A NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE. I will never use them again and do not recommend them AT ALL. Stay away!
This review does not pertain to this store but Cox as a whole company. I have contacted this company on three separate occasions to correct our bill. And yet to this day a month later I continue to be over charged. No one at Cox seems to communicate with each other or have any record of my previous phone calls to them. This company is over priced and incompetent.... The second we get another broadband provider on Gainesville Cox is going out of business because of the way they treat their customers
Cox is the worst company I’ve ever been forced to give my business to. They charge you and arm and a leg so that you can get your daily dose of frustration with internet going out every 30 min. Oh, don’t worry Cox. I didn’t have homework to do. And yes, I was hoping it would take me 3 hours to watch a 50 minute lecture. Thanks for being so considerate. That’s customer service right there!Updated from 1 stars to 3 stars on 5/30/18. After experiencing frustrations like the aforementioned one for awhile, I eventually called cox and they told me I needed a new router. After getting the new router things improved significantly. Overall I’m still not very impressed with the company.
Wonderful and quick customer service. Ron was a huge help! Thank you!
Very long wait for assistance. A cashier can out and didnt speak or acknowledged my present. I had to come into store concerns a incorrect bill. And my email address was incorrect. Still waiting on resolution. Pray not go in again.
Great customer serviceVery polite Mr. RON.
Fast, efficient, and courteous. Rich was wonderful!
The salesperson was very helpful in getting the new equipment and lowering our monthly bill. Explained each step. Store v crowded
Unreliable connection during any storm surge. Actual tech support is nonexistent now - was convinced by cox home support after telling the lady rebooting my modem for the 4th time wasnt going to fix anything that if I signed up for COX Complete Care the technician could better help me with a issue I was having (was experiencing a DDoS and had logs and data to prove this).I sign up and right after being reconnected to advanced tech support the guy, who was pretty rude and condescending from the moment he answered the phone basically talked down to me and pretended I had no clue what I was talking about (wouldnt have specifically asked for REAL tech support if I didnt).Ultimately after about 5 minutes of a very awkward conversation with lots of silence on his end he told me the only way to change an IP was to reassign a new MAC address which isnt possible on their end. So instead I asked if I could pay for a new modem and he said that wouldnt fix my issue(???).A new modem would have supplied a new MAC address thus renewing the IP for my network. He told me theres no way Im actually experiencing a ddos when I knew 100% that I was. He continued to ramble on about how unlikely a ddos attack is and why I was probably incorrect until I finally hung up on him after being relatively patient while being treated like I knew nothing about computers or networking. Let alone I was willing to fork over whatever the cost would have been for another modem to be installed since in renting the current one anyways. So Im now paying the extra money for a service that couldnt fix my issue (he could have but hed rather have sounded smart or like I was imagining the issue I was having wasnt an issue at all or even possible). In the past COX had a pretty reliable tech service but it seems they only cater to COX Business owners now and dont give a 2nd thought to even their more knowledgeable customers that pay for their upper tier service that are even willing to pay extra money to solve an issue thats unsolvable with out some intervention from the ISP.Thanks COX for being absolutely useless. Was internetless for about 2ish days until COXs DHCP server finally renewed my IP Out of chance.👍
The staff was very generous and went above and beyond to help me.
I have been a cox customer for the last few years and the customer service is the worst. I was a happy customer until I had to deal repeatedly with their customer service department to get a series of simple problems resolved. Multiple calls, multiple hours wasted, and multiple headaches...dealing with COX has been a dreadful experience for me. Perhaps they are getting too big to be effective and provide good service?
My experiences with Cox cable is up and down. Mainly is a poor service provider. Why?From my experience there are many down times. This means that you pay for a service that does not work. The high speed internet provided causes many issues. I believe they need to stick to cable only. Great for TV. Other than that, you’re better off getting cheaper services with better performances from a telephone company. If you’re new to the area, I do not recommend them as an internet provider. They had a monopoly at one point but with internet now easily accessible in other areas. I would choose the other if I was you. Customer service is poor as well. Thanks for the wasted time.
We went to the Walmart on Archer and talked to Cody Hypes. He was overly fantastic. He gave us the bottom line & it was obvious he was trying to get the best deal for US! He didnt try to scam us or bundle in something we werent interested in just to make money..He gave us the information and we told him we would shop around for prices. He wasnt pushy or rude. He told us to take our time with no worries! When we came back to set up the process was way easier than we thought- Cody did EVERYTHING including getting us the set-up time that we wanted. If you want someone who wont scam you and really HELPS YOU look for Cody Hypes at the Walmart.
My cable tuner adapter (supplied by COX) would not sync up to their network one day. So I called and a tech came out Monday between 5-7. Before he left, he said the line was fine but the tuner adapter would not sync up still leaving me with limited channels and sometimes no channels. The tech Monday said he would get a supervisor to stop by Tuesday between 5-7. Tuesday came and went with no one showing up. I called and I was told the work order was canceled in error. So this wasted my Tuesday. Wednesday a tech came out and was suppose to bring a new tuning adapter. I was told that the line was still not showing a signal and a box would not fix the issue. I was promised by a supervisor in customer service that a qualified tech would come and run a 12 foot cable to the walplate in my house. Thursday came and the tech that showed up WAS NOT qualified and just wasted my time. I was promised they would send a qualified tech out next Monday. DO NOT BELIEVE COX. They lie repeatedly and I am still paying for services that I am not receiving. The funny part of the whole story is 2 1/2 years ago I had to pay a tech to run the same exact line in my house because I wasnt receiving HD channels. Apparently, the subcontractor that cox hired replaced the old line into my apartment replaced it with a new inferior line that was not up to spec. Cox hires these companies for subcontractors so they dont have to pay their own employees benefits. There lack of professionalism goes further but I am done explaining what I need to. Stay away from cox. Get direct TV or an alternative company unless you like paying for services that you wont ever get. Leaving cox as a 15 year customer, I am done with their junk equipment, poor communication between what one hand is doing with the other, and supervisors that have no accountability.
Horrible, horrible business practice. Scum of the Earth. For a while it was acceptable. I paid for a service and they provided it. Then one day I received an email out of the blue. My data plan had been changed to a hard limit of 1 terabyte per month with a 10 dollar fee for every 50 gigabytes gone over. I live with a few friends and the four of us usually use about 2 terabytes a month. Currently, we pay 90 dollars a month for the premier package, which is in my opinion already a bit steep, but because of these arbitrary new changes they would charge 300 bucks. Needless to say, that is insane. You may think, well why not just upgrade your plan? Sure, it would cost more than what you were used to paying but its certainly better than 300. Well, my friend, therein lies the problem. Every Cox plan has the exact same data usage limit. Even ultimate which costs a whopping 100 dollars a month has the 1tb max. They dont give you an option, and because theyre essentially a monopoly, they never have to. Theyre free to gouge us without repercussion. Instead of offering a fair unlimited plan, they decided to just screw everyone that might go over. The people who run this company should be ashamed of themselves and held accountable for their actions.
Someone gave Cox a 5 star. Ha, wonder if there are an employee? Either that or they are getting paid. Cox sucks. Every time I deal with them I feel frustration. It is unbelievable. Just the epitome of a greedy company that only cares about money and profit.
Very friendly staff and very helpful and all ways solve my issues
Ive been with cox for over 32 years years .its not my fault that the writing doesnt fit there new up date advises like the Concord. They tell me there nothing they can do for me but if I buy more I can actually recieved their services.why would I want to spend more money to keep being a loyal customer. Why shouldnt I just take my business somewhere else. I feel that Im not valued as a loyal customer. I dont need cox.when I do make that change not only will I drop the internet bundle but my land line as well .Thank you for your service cox for all these years but its time for me to take my some where else and when did I want to set up my cancellation date. Well checking into it it will be real soon!! Thank you Cox!! I found a way to save lots of money by streaming. Gives me all the channels that I like and not only that I buy a box get my net flick and what ever serves i need and save tons of money!!
Excellent service. Convenient handicap parking.
Go see Dexter, and tell him that Duane sent you. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and courtious. I have heard a lot of negative comments around Gainesville about Cox Cable, and although I agree that their cost is highway robbery and their product is less than Superior, Cox does have some employees that are trying to make a difference.
