Tech fixed the non working $2500 Sears Elite refrigerator (less than 3 years old), by replacing the compressor (LG brand). This service took a little less than 2 hours and the warranty supposedly covered parts, but the labor was more than $300/hour based on the $631 bill.My guess is the tech does not get paid $300/hour or even $100/hour. So the obvious conclusion is that I paid for the parts ($300 retail compressor) along with the labor. So much for the supposed parts warranty.I would recommend getting a non warranty quote if you can live without a refrigerator for a couple of days. It may save you money.
My appointment time was between 10-2. The repairman did not come until 4:45 pm. When he came before he went into my freezer he didnt even sanitize or wash his hands. When he told me what I needed I asked if he had the part he said yes, he then signed paperwork with an X as if I signed the paperwork agreeing to the service, I was then charged $486. for something I didnt get and when I told him it hit my account and I wanted a refund he said he couldnt do it. When I called customer service they were rude and unprofessional. They kept telling me there was nothing they could do because their system was down. I told them I wanted my money back because I did not sign or agree to anything, they told me to call back the next day for almost a week. They then order the part I did not ask for, had it sent to my house and I had to send it back. They then sent me a service complete receipt. There wasnt a service complete or done. I will never, ever call them again.
If they can do a simple service, youll be fine. If they need to order parts and they cant get them, it becomes a nightmare. I dont have enough room here to tell you just how bad it will get!! Ive been approved for a replacement, given a confirmation number by the warranty dept., but I still cant get a replacement because I sit on the phone for hours without ever getting the help I need. Its always wait on hold for at least a hour to a hour and a half only to be on a merry-go round with no conclusion!
One of the primary reasons we buy Sears products is the great service. The technicians are always pleasant, professional and skilled. We highly recommend Sears.
Waited 30 minutes on hold to schedule a warranty repair, and was given a 4 hour window. At the end of the window no one had showed up, but I got a phone call that the technician was “running late”. As it turns out no one had scheduled the technician and he was unaware of the appointment. Technician was professional and knowledgeable.
I was charged $330.00 to replace an idler pulley on my dryer. The total labor time was less than 45 minutes and I know the part is no more than $50 after looking it up online. After I received the invoice I noticed that the numbers did not add up. There was a section for parts and a section for labor. The labor numbers showed a labor cost of $153.69 and tax on labor to be $20.85. Yet somehow the labor total came to $273.54 (instead of $174.54). Its like they added $99 somewhere but its not explained anywhere on the invoice. Needless to say I spent 1.5 hours calling every customer service number I could for an explanation. I even left messages when recordings came on saying no agent available... despite it being between 9:30 and 11am cst. Its been a few days and I have still not received a call back on these seemingly bogus charges. You can bet Ill never again waste my time and money dealing with Sears Appliance Repair if I can help it. Very disappointing, aggravating, and just plain ridiculous.
The service man was polite, dependable, and very efficient. He diagnosed the problem, ordered the parts, and kept me informed the whole time. He was awesome!
I had nothing but problems with Sears repairs. The techs rescheduled multiple times due to their own negligence, there were billing issues, and my dryers lint trap disappeared with Sears refusing to replace it. No quality assurance or consistency at all. Never again
I do not like sears service, it takes usually too long for a service person to arrive after making an Appointment, usually days if not a week. We just received parts and where told it would be 6 days before the next appointment. They need to hire more technicians and get more people on the road. They need to carry more parts or have access to them more quickly like the old SearsIf they do not improve their service I think Sears will go away like many others. The quality of their products and service was why many used Sears but this is a thing of the past.I have no desire to buy another Appliance from Sears.
After Hurricane Harvey hit, we lost our water heater to the flood waters. When Sears sent out a tech, we were told our warranty did not include natural disasters and they wouldnt re-light it. I understand the safety aspect, but what good is a warranty that isnt really honored in spirit. Shouldnt have to rely on insurance to cover something I have a paid warranty for. A total lack of logic or compassion.
Great repair tech -- did a thorough inspection of the refrigerator and left the kitchen cleaner than he found it! Could not ask for more.
Mixed feelings about this. The tech, Kevin, was outstanding and this service would have gotten 5 stars except the back office of Sears Warranty is not as good as it could be. After the initial diagnosis, a part had to be ordered for my Kenmore Trash Compactor. We set the follow up on Monday between 8-12:00 Noon and I specifically asked Kevin to make me first on the list - he allowed that he would try but hes not in control. Fine. The reason I wanted the first thing is that I literally have to take off work to house sit for the tech to show up.At 11:30AM I called since no one had shown...I get a recording that says Weve updated your appointment time to between 11:00AM and 1:00PM. I was furious. Kevin, the tech eventually showed up around 12:30. He was very apologetic and I appreciated that. How is it that Sears cant call me and work out a reschedule? How come Sears thinks it can unilaterally change appointment times without regards to their customers calendars and with no respect for the customers time?Im hard pressed to believe any appointment will be kept in the future. Sears needs to work on honoring its commitments to its customers.Im second guessing the annual subscription I bought to the home warranty program.Good luck if you use them.
The repairman was very thorough . He answered questions asked about the system and did not hesitate to let us know that we could call if we had more questions or concerns. He was very polite and professional. He is one of the best!!!
Great job! Repair technicians arrived on-time, properly diagnosed the problem, and made repairs in good time. What more could you ask for.
My experience with the repairman, Max, is always great. He is professional and concerned with making sure I get the A/C repairs done in a timely manner. I find that I trust him and that is not something I do easily.
The technician arrived on time and was very efficient and professional. He found the problem with my dryer right away and fixed it. The price seemed a little high but was glad to get the use of my drying back quickly.
Great service but 350 to replace a $20 retail part is stupid expensive. Never again.
Came to fix refrigerator less than an hour after i called. very courteous and quickly determined problem and fixed within 1.5 hours. (refrig portion was not cold while freezer was). still working great
Very cordial and professional guy, fixed quickly and did a great job. He had a small area to work with too! I would recommend to everyone!!
Our tech tech arrived and replaced the part. He was very knowledgeable and we even bought warranty on our washer and dryer. He was very customer service friendly.
The two Sears Techs did a great job on the hood switch reosir. The professionalism was obvious. Please give the two Technicians a Job Well Done from.me. Frank Bejarano
Great service and very professional; was on time and explained the what, when, and how.
The work was good, but VERY expensive. $200 for half hours work which involved taking off the door and placing a few washers in place to lift the door back to the place it was when we bought it. The reason over time the door settles. While the worker was great and worked quick, the price seemed very high for the amount of time, work, and supplies.
Service received was fine. Oven hinges were repaired to satisfaction.Due to ticketing system technician was not allowed to fix both issues at my home - oven and vent. My sister was at my house for the initial appointment and thought that she had cleared up the confusion and the technician would be able to fix both my oven and stove vent. When he returned to install ordered parts it turns out he was only allowed to touch the oven per rules. Now I will need to take off work for two more half days and pay another service call fee to get the vent fixed. I put both items on my online service request, so I feel they should have called to let me know that only one item would be fixed.
Scheduled an appointment a few days ago for a window on Saturday afternoon. The 1-5 window came and went. When I called they told me no one was ever assigned to the call. I wasted an entire afternoon waiting for them. Valuable time when I could have been getting other things done. How do you get a confirmation number and just no communication about the mixup. I am very dissatisfied. People’s time is valuable and Sears wasted mine.
Searss customer service was horrible, the repair company was excellent, and in the future I will call them (A&E Factory Service) directly and not deal with Sears. I chose a time (a 4 hour window!) that was convenient to me, only to have the time window changed without my knowledge to a time that I couldnt be there. When I called Sears to complain, I believe that I was routed to a call center outside of the country. I managed to adjust my schedule with some difficulty to meet the repairman, who was articulate, intelligent, and best of all, repaired my freezer in very little time, so that we were only a little bit late to our sons baseball game. Because it was a freezer that was full of food, I wanted to make every effort to try to get it repaired. I will not go through Sears in the future for repairs.
I called and spoke with Sears, letting them know the situations, what was broke and the model. They looked up my account and confirmed it was under warranty. When they arrived, they charged $100 for the guy to tell me what i told them and then said o, nm, its not under warranty. The service guy was very friendly and professional though.
BEWARE-->Talk about a HORRIBLE Experience...After taking a half a day off the First Appt. Was a No Show No call.Made the mistake of trying again. Second appt. Was scheduled for 100 -500. I was supposed to be notified before showing up. No one called just showed up at 4:15. Looked at my dryer very briefly, told me it would cost too much to fix, charged me 107.29 would not give me a receipt ( said hed mail it) and was gone by 4:25. I Will NEVERcall this Company Again!!!
Very courteous, helpful and pretty well knowledgeable.on
The service technician was very knowledgable and had the problem fixed in a matter of minutes. Only problem was that I had to wait a month for him to be able to come out. Sears either needs more repair technicians or someplace in the Houston I can take my mower for service.
Your service technician was on time. He quickly diagnosed the problem and had the part needed to fix our oven. He was courteous and professional.
I was not there but my daughter was. I was there the day the first Sears repair man came and showed us the hole in the big gasket by sticking his finger through it and that part was ordered. The second repair man said it was not a hole but a wrinkle and he took the ordered gasket with him. He said the machine was old and would probably continue to leak. I think he cleaned the pump which is what he told my daughter and found a dime wedged in it. It still continues to leak and I will be calling again. Our machine is only 8 years old. We have always purchased Sears products and they usually last over 14-15 years.
Repair was diagnosed correctly and done correctly. It took 2 visits because parts needed to be ordered. The only thing that went “wrong “ was the technician showed up shortly outside of the 4 hours repair window.
The repairman arrived on time and was neat in appearance, He cleaned the dryer inside as well as installing the heating element. The cost was explained and agreed to before the work. Everything works now.
We had a repair on our Kenmore clothes dryer on Jan 12, 2015.We are highly pleased with the repair. The technician was punctual, courteous and very professional. He is an asset to your team
Nice guy. Came in, did his work and told me my options. Fixed the problem. What more could you ask for. Great job!
Tech. was prompt & friendly. Said all he had to do was reset the machine. I was only able to wash 1 load of clothes. Second load machine filled with water. Machine wouldnt drain or complete wash. Had to call out for a 2nd time.
The repairman was nice however he was unable to find out what exactly was wrong with my freezer so was unable to fix it. I felt I did not get my moneys worth. $90 for a service call and did not get any satisfaction. My freezers still did not work when he left and I did not know what the problem was. I think it could have been fixed, but ended up buying a new freezer.
Thanks to Mr. Muluneh K, he is an excellent Technician and a gentleman. If I need appliance service, please send him to my home.
We were told our ice maker needed to be replaced and it would cost almost $500. Since we hate, hate, hate the ice maker in our refrigerator we refused to pay $500 for another one just like it. We bought a new refrigerator, a GE, with a ice maker that makes large cubes and a large ice bin.
Was very pleased with the way the part had to be ordered and was received so quickly. It was repaired quickly and it seems to be working well.
Excellent service..The technician went ubove & beyond the call of duty to ensure the riding mower is running tip-top!
The repair man was very pleasant and knowledgable. Great to know that there are still left out there.
Excellent service!! Well worth the extra $ I paid for warranty and wish I had used the service every year.
I got an appointment for the next day and they fixed it fast!
Excellent service. Arrived on time and did excellent work.
It was horrible, i had to reschedule three times. I asked to be placed first on the repair list so I could the work could be done early in the morning because i work grave yards and would be staying up to wait, plus i was told that it could be done. The technician was never scheduled to show up before noon. When i called to complain the girl on the phone said she could see that I requested that but it wasnt a guarantee and it is what it is. So the tech finally arrived at 2pm he tells me that have to pay $68 before he can do the job. A job that was to install parts that had been ordered to complete a previous job because that tech didnt have the parts on hand. Even though they ask Im on phone for the make and model so they can be prepared. All in all sears home service is crap. I will not be using them again.
The technician inspected the oven and discovered there were no gas leaks or faulty parts. He was professional and allowed us to feel secure in the final report on our oven.
The gentleman that services my dishwasher went over and beyond. Thank you so much
Right on time....and quickly I had a new ice maker!Thank you.
Everything was done excellent. Less than 30 minutes.
The Tech was very courteous, and spend over 30 minutes or more doingthe mainteanceI hope i remember to call him back each year.thank you
Repair technicians arrived on-time, properly diagnosed the problem, and made repairs in good time. They were courteous and efficient.
Anthony was our repairman. He was on time, he was courteous, he was knowledgeable, he fixed the problem with our ice maker on our Kenmore Elite refrigerator (which I love). You couldnt ask for more.
All went better than expected. Service Technician was friendly and professional!

Bad service, it took 3 weeks to have a technician in and 3 more weeks for parts to arrived I was with out refrigerator for a long time, very unhappy with Sears way, also when you call it goes to another country and is difficult to get your point across, not the Sears of long ago at all
