We had a reservation at Nextcar 7440 New Ridge Road, Baltimore for last Saturday, September 25 until Oct 1, 2021, our international flights were delayed and after a long journey we arrived at the customer desk after midnight to pick up the car to continue our trip another hour and a half to our final destination in West Virginia.At the time to process our reservation, the clerk requested a credit card deposit to secure the vehicle as normally happens in these cases.For that purpose, as international visitors in the US, we offered 4 different European credit cards that she refused, two because she was unable to recognize the issuing Banks and the other two because for her, the card holder name was not completed showed on the car (Spanish surnames are much larger than in the US and the cards do not have enough room to write them completely!).It is clear that the clerk has not received the appropriate training to be able to deal with international travelers or recognize a proper solid credit card. She was limited to Google the bank name on the card, and inaccurately concluded that our cards were provided by an electronic bank or so.She refused to try any of the cards, also to return the money (we paid in advance through Expedia), and we were forced to take an Uber car to West Virginia at 1am. We are still using that same transportation means as our arrangements were frustrated by Next Car.We were not notified by Expedia that we needed an American card to leave a deposit otherwise we wouldnt have made the reservation nor the payment.At this point after so much inconvenience, we lost the full amount for the week we paid to Next Car via Expedia plus the extra expenses we have been forced to make with Uber during our business trip as per the failure from Next Car to recognize a proper Credit Cards.Horrible service, horrible experience!

So, I am a frequent car renter. I looked at the large differences in rates compared to my usual car rental place, so I decided to once again patronize NextCar,Inc. However, the lack of consideration for my time, the fact that my appointment was for 12 and there was no other customers ahead of me an it still took roughly 40 mins to get in a car is absurd. I quickly remembered why I prefer to pay the extra money. My time IS VALUABLE, so this accompanied with staff that sometimes seem impolite is all I needed to say for future rentals, no thanks.

THE WORST, and I mean this with all sincerity. From the minute we stepped into next car, the women at the front counter was rude with zero customer service. We were the only customer in line, and it took about 45 minutes. When my fiancé asked about an upgrade to a bigger car, she was so rude and told him he would be charged extra (which he assumed!) We called about our deposit, and again, very rudely - she explained we were charged an extra $75 for two hours of time. I VERY rarely do yelp reviews, but steer clear (literally!)

We rented a Toyota Rav4 for a beach vacation. The interior of the vehicle was clean and smelled like a new car. However the vehicle was dirty on the outside and we had to ask about the cleanliness before being offered to have it ran through the on site automatic car wash. The windshield still had many smudges from possibly bugs as well as the front end of the car even after the car went through the wash, I was able to remove the smudges at a gas station with the windshield cleaner.It was also unfortunate that we rented through a third party, Orbitz. Nextcar would not honor the full car insurance that we paid for through Orbitz so we then had to go through the third party seeking a refund and pay for car insurance through Nextcar.Another issue we had was that to add a second driver ir cost us $8 a day despite the fact it was a spouse. We have rented from Enterprise with this information known for no extra cost.The vehicle operated to expectations but I was highly disappointed that the navigation system did not function because it was never set up in the vehicle by the rental company, to do so you need to go through the manufacturer website. We have rented a new model Nissan, from Enterprise,  which had the navigation function and it was great as the driver.Nextcar contacted us the day prior to our drop off date but wanted to speak with us while on vacation, it seemed like they wanted to confirm our rental return time. When we return their call, we were told that they were busy with customers and that the person on the phone was unable to answer why they called. We were unable to speak to anyone that could so we left our phone number and no one ever returned our phone call. This could have simply been done with a voice mail or call reminder or an email.We discovered via paperwork left in the glove box, which could have sensitive information on it, that the vehicle had been turned over to us less than thirty minutes after the previous renter. So it had been hastily checked over but not cleaned or thoroughly inspected.Overall all I was not thrilled by the experience and will not choose to rent from Nextcar again and do not recommend it. We have rented from Enterprise before and did not have any of these issues.

My wife and I found out about this location last minute the night before we were going to drive to Hagerstown to get a rental because every major chain we knew of in Frederick was over $100 more than Hagerstown Airport. Nextcar was the same price but saved us a drive. We prepayed on a Sunday night, picked the car up Monday afternoon. Spoke with Eli who was extremely pleasent and communicative. No issues with the car, dropped it off 5 days later. Couldnt have been a smoother experience. We will definitely be using them again next time we need a rental.

These people are crooks, I rented then added days, turned the car in early forgot to put it back full was at 1/2 a tank. Am getting charged $25 for 1/2 a tank of gas and still cant get my security deposit back until Thursday waiting for a manager. You didnt need the manager to take my $. And I need another rental, but NEVER mind from there

Ive rented from this NextCar location about 75 times for business travel, so I have a LOT of experience with them. Overall I think they are excellent and I highly recommend them. Ive used the Frederick locations of both NextCar and Enterprise extensively, and I prefer NextCar. Their rates are better, the vehicles are more comfortable, the staff are helpful and friendly, and the checkout process is slightly easier / quicker / smoother. A++, five stars, two thumbs up, will use again without hesitation.

They always have the vehicle size I need, and the prices are fantastic, I would highly recommend them to anyone. Thank you guys for the great rentals. Btw all of their rentals are the current year, if you get a rental in 2019, the rental vehicle will be a 2019, never 2018 or older. Enjoy all the features of the current year vehicles, then go buy one after returning it if you like it. Great job guys.

Very helpful and friendly staff. The only thing is they have a distorted view of comparable vehicles. This is the case with all rental car companies. I own a Jeep Grand Cherokee that has recently been involved in an accident. My insurance covers a rental car that is equivalent to my Grand Cherokee. When I arrived at the rental car location they put me in a Jeep Renegade, which is a considerably smaller SUV then my Grand Cherokee. If my insurance is paying for a comparable vehicle, I would expect to be put in a Ford Explorer or another Grand Cherokee. Other than that I have no complaints with Nextcar. The Assistant Area Manager, Kellee, didnt have any larger vehicles available when I picked up the rental. If a larger vehicle comes in, she said she would contact me and offer to trade the smaller SUV that I have for the larger vehicle. Even though it seems to be a practice in the rental car business of downsizing cars for insurance rentals, Nextcar is willing to do what they have to in order to make sure that Im a satisfied customer. In my past dealings with other rental car companies, none of them was willing to go out of their way for customer satisfaction. Nextcar is the only rental car company willing to do that. If I have to rent another vehicle, I would definitely give them my repeat business.

When you search for this location on Google, a listed discount is 20% off with prepayment. I called in to make a reservation and was told to get a discount you have to place your reservation online. I placed my reservation online but was never given an option to pay for the rental. I stopped by to pickup my rental, having tried diligently to follow all of their directions. I was told at the time of pickup that I was unable to receive any discount at all. My advice to this company is, please do better to ensure a quality experience for your customers, potential or otherwise.

Attempted to rent a car from Nextcar and thought I would give them a try. I always rent from Enterprise and thought I would give someone else a shot. I wanted to see what other options I had. I was blown away at the $150 deposit requested. Enterprise asks for a $100 deposit and I rent from them so often that they only hold $50 from me. My main point was Nextcar wasnt willing to budge. Maybe Im Enterprise spoiled, but I will not be going here. I will continue with my normal routine.

Great Service. I showed up 15 minutes before they closed desperate for a car on a Friday night. Both reps were very friendly and did not appear the least bit bothered by my late arrival, even though I probably caused the them to start their weekend a little late. The minivan worked great. I used the drop box for the keys on Sunday. I called on Monday to make sure they got the keys. They confirmed everything was good to go. Easy peezy lemon squeezy.

We had an issue that required a rental very close to their closing time on a Friday night before a holiday. Unfortunately, I do not remember the name of the woman that helped me, but she handled the transaction smoothly even though I was a bit frazzled and it went past their closing time. The only reason that this is not a 5-star rating is that the rental was not able to be closed out on a day that they are closed, so I had to pay for an extra day.

My sister and brother in law was in town from Alaska. I researched rentals for them. I found 2 other companys at the same price as Nextcar. Due to location only my brother in law chose Nextcar. Everything fine the first 2 days. He then noticed a spot on a tire that looked odd to him. Instead of ignoring it and keep driving the car, he took it back for it to be checked out. Bottom line, they said it wasnt marked on walk inspection. Charged 150.00 for the tire. (small Hyundai Elantra). Will never use this Co. Again!!!

This is the absolute worst rental company Ive ever had. I will never rent from this place again I feel like I was cheated out of my money. I wish I could dispute it to get my money back because I feel like I shouldnt have to pay for a dysfunctioning car! Then when I went to enterprise to tell them about the bad experience that I had, they gave me a luxury Mercedes for $20 a day for the inconvenience. Even though it had nothing to do with them!! Go to enterprise, never rent from NextCar!!!!!

Do not rent a car from Next Car and pay for it online. If you do not need it for the full length of time they will not reimburse you for a day return. They will if you pay for it when you pi k it up.
