Lack of customer service skills at this location amaze me! Don’t even try to help you . Got a reservation on line and they charged for the rental in full once I get there they said if you are using your visa bank card not only charge you more for deposit ( which I was ok with ) but they run a credit check, I did not want an inquiry and made me feels very uncomfortable, so I want to cancel the rental and they said “ just call the 1800” we cannot help with your refund “ just went to Enterprise where I never get this kind of treatment

If I could give no stars, I would! After arriving at the Frederick location with an online reservation and given the run around I realized I didnt have my credit card (thats on me) and had to go get it, they told me they would DEFINITELY be able to do it upon my arrival back, which turned out to be a complete lie! So a wasted morning, a call which Ive got to make to get my money back for the pre authorization, and 3 different Lyft drivers (who were at least nice), just gotta say thanks for absolutely NOTHING, Budget!Dont waste your time with the Frederick location for sure. I hope the rest of the Budgets are at least a bit better than this l that one.

8.25.2021: Returned our rental with a full tank of gas at Chicago OHare Airport. Long story short, days later I was being bill for extra rental days as they said I never returned the car. I had to make numerous phone calls, send emails with proof of boarding pass and more phone calls. Several numbers called will disconnect as it says sorry no customer service rep is available. After calling for a follow-up I learned the car had been located. Why was I not contacted as I had an issue opened. Then I was charged over $400.00 more than the contract price for late fees and gas. I returned the car on-time and with a full tank of gas. I am beyond fustrated for the incovenience, stress and just lack of good customer service. BEWARE and get a receipt when you return the car even if the attendant says you dont need one and you will get an email.

Miguel and his team were friendly and demonstrated great customer service. The first car we rented had an issue where when reaching over 40mph it would violently shake. We brought the car back and Miguel upgraded our car rental at no additional cost.

I’ve been calling the number listed on the website for 3 days now between 9-5 trying to reserve a vehicle for Oct. and no one has answered. No recording, no nothing. Is this a joke? How can you do business like this and expect people to use Budget? This is ridiculous.

Tried to rent two cars for our family vacation. Went to pick them up and was told you can only rent one car per address so since my father and I have the same address the canceled our reservation on the spot. No problem, we called another place and for a second car lined up. Got in the one car they did give us and it smelled of cigarette smoke SO bad. I asked if we could switch because of the terrible smoke smell. The employe came out and sat in the car got out and told me, “the car smells great.” For sure will never return.

WORSE PLACE TO RENT A VEHICLE!!!! Rented a car here the car was out of inspection the car was dirty and looked like it had sat in a yard for a few months. Once I noticed the inspection I went back to exchange the car the guy at the place was extremely rude it was 5:03 pm he was taking car of a customer in front of me asked what I needed when I told him of the issues with the car he replied they closed at 5 and I would have to come back tomorrow I told him I had just gotten the car from him and he said were closed you will have to come back tomorrow. I had to call the corporate office and they gave me a location where I could go exchange the vehicle for one that was legal to be on the road. Would NEVER recommend this place to anybody ever! This happened in June of 2020 so it was not the old owners it was the current ones!

The employees seem awesome and helpful. But the manager George is horrible. It’s a shame that he doesn’t let the employees handle the customer facing side of the business because he has absolutely no customer service. If it wasn’t for having to deal with George it would have been great.There’s so many more car rental places that are much better to deal with in Frederick. Take it from all the other bad reviews of George and just go to another business. I had to go out to verify the condition of the car, mileage and gas prior to renting as everyone should do and the employee that went was awesome. But just requesting to do this George got an attitude and yelled that it’s brand new and didn’t need to be verified and had a bad attitude the entire time I was there. He then made another employee do it because god forbid he leaves the desk and helps customers and does things the right way. Go elsewhere. There’s a reason they are cheap.

Use their cars a lot whenever we are in the USA. Rented a Ford Explorer in Washington DC and drove just over 7500 Miles in it. up to Buffalo in NY State then across to Ohio Indiana Illinois Iowa Missouri Kentucky Tennessee Alabama down through Virginia Tennessee The Carolinas Georgia to Miami Florida and then all the way across to Los Angeles via Louisiana Oklahoma Texas New Mexico Colorado Utah Nevada Arizona only complaint if they charge an arm and a leg as its a one-way rental and we had the car for 3-months.

Budget car rental of frederick is a great place if your looking to rent a car. They are opened 7 days a week so theyre convenient. No overnight drop off so you have bring the car back during business hours. Also sunday rentals are reservations only. No walk ups. Other than that, its a go. So happy renting

He made sure they had what we needed for our mission trip to Florida to rebuild homes from hurricane damage. When the time comes again for a rental for our trips, we will be coming back to this location!!! A+

I arrived at 8am on Sunday May 26 to pick up my full-sized rental. I could see there were NO full-sized cars on the lot. The staff member told me that the full-sized cars expected back the day before had not come in....so could he offer me a smaller car?I SPECIFICALLY reserved a full-sized car because I NEEDED a full-sized car to move my daughter to another state! I could see there was an SUV on the lot....he told me it was reserved but I could take it for an added FEE!!?? Are you kidding? You cant fulfill your obligation and have the nerve to try to charge ME more???Additionally, it is outrageous that:-He offered me a discount on a smaller car but in fact, it was just the price of going down to lower level car-I was not notified the night before that what I had reserved was not there!What should have happened is the person on the last shift the day before should have arranged for a full-sized car from another Budget location be brought in for my RESERVATION.In the end, I ended up taking the smaller car with the biggest trunk. My daughters belongings were removed from the boxes and literally crammed into every nook and cranny of the car. It was actually a very dangerous situation I was forced into because every window in the car was completely blocked except for the windshield.Needless to say, I will not be using Budget again because reservations mean nothing. Furthermore, I will do my best to help would-be customers avoid this location because clearly they have serious customer service issues.

They were most accommodating to a couple who were lucky enough to be escaping the overtaxed repressive state of Maryland. The car dolly we needed was unavailable so they upgraded us to a car hauler for no extra charge. The staff was great, the truck not so much. We got caught in the rain, the weather inside the truck wasnt all that much dryer than that outside. The roof leaked. It also tried to make a right turn the whole trip. Perhaps an allignment was in order. Those two things aside, best price good service..

Budget in Frederick has been my go-to rental in this area. Rates are very competitive and the staff is always cordial. Had a really nice experience this past rental, with the gentleman who brought my car around very helpful and courteous. Negatives about the agency is location and the office itself. They obviously are small and probably cannot afford rents in other more convenient and spacious accommodations, so the office is basically a room in a small corrugated building in an industrial part of town near the Frederick airport. But for good basic car rentals that can be had at the last minute, there is no need to be housed in the Ritz, thus the place is a solid bet.

I rented a car this morning in Pittsburgh and the brakes on the car were causing the car to shake and pull to one side at high speeds and when I would have to slow down quickly. I started feeling nervous about the safety of the vehicle a couple hours into my trip and called the Budget Customer Service Number. They advised me if the car was still drive-able I could take it into any Budget location along my route and have it exchanged for another. This was the closest location to me at the time so I went in. I explained the situation to the guy at the desk and he basically laughed at me and said I cant help you because we dont have any cars. I understand that if they have no cars there is nothing he can do about that but he acted as though he could care less and it was my problem and not his. He did not offer to help find a location with available vehicles or even show the slightest bit of concern for the predicament I was in. I let him know I had come all the way from Pittsburgh and he laughed again and stated there are a lot of Budget locations between here and Pittsburgh like I should have went to one of them instead or something. I got frustrated with him at that point due to his attitude throughout the whole exchange and his extremely poor customer service skills. I asked him what his name was and he refused to give it to me and said he did not have to tell me his name. I proceeded to take pictures of him to document who I was interacting with. He put up his hand and told me I was not allowed to use my phone and walked quickly towards me and yelled at me to get out of the store. I called Budget Customer Service and everyone I spoke to there was very apologetic for the experience and was able to find me a location that had available vehicles. Customer Service and all the workers at the BWI airport location were all very professional and helpful to rectify the situation but this man was a bad representation for this company. Upon calling the location after the fact it appears his name is Tim.

Despite a hectic amount of customers the employees tried their best to serve us as quickly as possible and somehow managed to remember the order we arrived. Most of the customers who were displeased with their service seemed to be having personal financial issues preventing them from renting. Overall a nice location that makes an effort to get to know their clientele on a personal level and provide the best service possible given the circumstances.

Started kind of rocky when our van was not even at the location. Waited for 30 minutes, but they got us into a larger van for the same price as the vehicle originally reserved. Everyone was generous and very willing to work with us concerning our time restraint with family arriving at the airport needing to be picked up right after the pick-up of the vehicle.

Reserved a 12 ft truck one way. Drove 30 minutes to pick it up. They tell me sorry, cant do it, need the truck for tomorrow. Then want to rent me a 16 footer for MORE than the 12 ft truck and want me to bring it back. If Im not gonna bring the 12 ft back, why would I bring the 16 ft back. There is a reason I wanted it one way. And there was a whole parking lot full of trucks. Poor customer service.And to follow up these clowns charged me $50 for a no show when I was there and they didnt have my truck. Incompetence reigns supreme

The rental pick up and return was quick. However, don’t expect any sort of help from the staff. On pick up, the rental was set for a short time frame. The representative did not even try to assist. I was the only customer present, but customer service on the phone was able to adjust it for me. Back at the store, we did the normal inspection before hand, during which a representative and I confirmed the starting mileage.On return, the clerk entered the wrong start Milage. When I asked him to correct it, the representative and a man who I think was the manager, tried to explain that the milage in the network was correct. He became very creative in his justification, instead of going back into the system and adjusting the start mileage to what was agreed and confirmed by both the representative and me.Again, he was unable to resolve anything. Phone customer service,was extremely helpful. However, the personnel running this shop either don’t know how to operate their system or are unwilling to make things right. In either case, creative explanations instead of real solutions are an unnecessary headache, especially when you are dealing with a move. If you like the budget pricing and options, go to a different budget store. Good luck.

If I could give this place a 0, I would. HORRIBLE customer service, they do not honor reservations, and they will charge your card way more than what they quote you without your permission. I had a reservation for a small car and when I got there George said they had no cars. He said they could give me an SUV but would charge me more for it. I told them it wasn’t my fault they had no cars because that’s what my reservation was for. He didn’t care. He saw that I was desperate because I had a work trip to go on. I reluctantly told them I’d just take the SUV. My daily price went from $30 per day to $37 per day for a total of $81. I went to turn the SUV in the day it was due and asked how much it would be to extend it for 3 more days. Timothy told me it would be $95 total for 3 more days. No receipt or new reservation and I’m definitely stupid for that. I trusted what he said in good faith. I went to turn in the SUV the second time and expected to be charged $81 for the first few days and $95 for the second few days. Nope. They ended up charging my credit card $281 which was $100 more than I was originally quoted. This place is shady and will rip you off. Do NOT rent here and if you do, you better get everything in writing. Watch out for George and Timothy. I have complained to corporate but I doubt anything will get done. Will definitely take my business to Hertz or Enterprise from now on.

I originally reserved a vehicle on May 30, 2018 for June 16, 2018. On the day I needed the vehicle, I got a call to tell me there was no vehicle for me. When I asked what the purpose of the reservation was, I was told that they were sorry but there was no vehicle. The rep told me I would have to call customer service to cancel. I asked to be transferred to customer service, but was told that could not be done. I then called what I thought was customer service, but it was only a number for reservations. I had to make another phone call. I was told I would get a refund. When I asked if I could get some kind of coupon for a future reservation since I was now inconvenienced with the burden of getting a much more expensive ride to the airport, I was told that could not be done. This has been a horrible experience as a customer who has rented numerous vehicles from Budget. I am not sure I will be back at this point.

Expensive. They also do not always agree with each other as to what scratch to charge you for. The only safe way to not be charged for scratches is to take their damage insurance which is about the same as the rental price. Expensive.

I wish I could give 0 stars because the manager in the location refused to even talk with me. I made an online reservation a week before and when I got to the location they simply told me that they didnt have cars and that I had to leave because they couldnt do anything for me. End of the story from their point of view.I could see they had a bunch of cars outside. They should have given me one so I could start my trip. While I was trying to figure out a way to get a car I saw how a new costumer arrived and took the car he booked online without a problem. They treated me unequally because my booking was for a compact car and they didnt care to lose a customer in that class.The manager and the rest of the team were extremely extremely extremely rude, unhelpful, unsympathetic, and unbelievably unprofessional. The WORST experience I have EVER had with a car rental company. I felt insulted and discriminated.

Awful experience. Avoid even if the best rate. Would give it 0 if I could. Adding an upgrade charge is their way to “make extra money” as we were told. Never asked just added the charge. When I did, the corporate office said that the local office should have known about it. When picking up the car Eric was very helpful. He was the bright spot.

Called and was told I could rent a 12 passenger van. The day before we were supposed to pick up the van, they called us to say that they didn’t have any available and that they could give me a good deal on an 8 passenger vehicle and a 4 passenger vehicle. I didn’t need the 4 passenger so we rented the 8 only. When we arrived to get the rental, my husband was angry because we needed a 12 seater and that’s what we thought we were getting. The owner/manager told my husband that he wouldn’t serve us if he didn’t calm down. The owner/manager had us over a barrel as there was not any other 8 seater vehicles available in the area at any of the other rental companies.They told us that we could return the vehicle at any point on the day we were returning it and they wouldn’t charge us. When we did return it, they charged us extra and said it was because we had returned it late. I told them that they had said we were ok to return it late (I was getting angry at this point) and the owner/manager told me to calm down and that it was my job to remind them of their promise not to charge. I was given a refund but I will never use them again.

DO NOT USE! Absolute scam artists. Had a vehicle rented for by my boss for a work trip. When I picked up the vehicle the gentleman at the desk handed me the keys and sent me on my way. As it was prepaid and set up by my employer I signed the pickup paperwork without questions. Didnt find out until I returned the car that I had been upgraded and there would be an additional charge. Neither myself or my boss were given the opportunity to approve or deny this upgrade. Furthermore I was told that I had already been pre-checked out (even though I arrived before my drop off time) and that the additional upgrade fee had already been charged to the supplied card. When my boss called their location to question the charge he was told charging the customers for something that they didnt agree to was how we make extra money So these people are intentionally scamming their customers and are happy to tell you so. Top it off with the corporate office is unwilling to give a refund either.

Had reservations for a car and prepaid in advance. Got there 20 minutes early to get the car and was told by the two employees at the front desk that I had to wait until 10 am to pick up the car. When asked if I could complete the paperwork while waiting, they said no, couldnt fill out the papers until 10. Very rude service and senseless policy. I had to leave and come back. Front desk staff member again spoke rudely, the one completing my paperwork was cordial and friendly but clueless and couldnt do anything by himself. The car was dirty and covered with animal hair and as a bonus, the MAINTENANCE REQUIRED light was on. Would not recommend at all!

Terrible experience with Budget!! Ive rented vehicles several times and have never had so many problems. First they charged my card 4 times, quoted me 2 different prices and then when I dropped the car off they said it had a full tank of gas when I got it (which it didnt). They are a bunch of crooks!! Dont give them your money!! They might be cheaper than Enterprise but they will screw you over!!

I was highly impressed with the local owner. He was very kind and professional. Do NOT call the national number. They are rude and unprofessional. I traveled 45 minutes to get there and it was worth it for the service I received. Plus, I had ordered am economy which they did not have and was upgraded to an intermediate SUV for no additional charge. The Jeep was a dream car!

What a total CF! Reserved a 26 foot truck online to do a one-way rental from a different store in MD. Received email confirmation and other correspondence from Budget related to this reservation. While driving over an hour to that store, I called to confirm the truck was there, only to be told they didn’t have any trucks. Called Budget customer service and had to wait another hour for a call back with directions to a different store.... another hour + away from the original store. The customer service rep claimed he verified with the local owner that the truck was there and verified it was going to be for a one-way rental. They even sent me an updated rental confirmation with the exact same information.When I arrived to pick up the truck at this place, the owner would not honor the one way rental, he could only commit the 26 foot truck to local rentals. He indicated he was never contacted by customer service and that they just send people his way without calling them first to verify the rental. Frustrating for the owner and even more frustrating for the customer as there is clearly a disconnect between customer service and the local owners.The ONLY reason I am not rating this experience as a one star is because the local owner is at least trying to be helpful. While he is not quite as professional as he could be, perhaps because of frustration as well, we at least have options for a smaller truck and he is being reasonable.Overall this is a terrible experience. I would not recommend budget and won’t rent from them again. This is not a rating of this store (Budget in FREDERICK MD). All things considered, they were quite helpful in the end. But the truck renting portion of the company apparently has no freaking clue how to manage their inventory. And their reservation systems are not current with real-time information. The reservation system allows trucks to be reserved, when the specific size trucks are not available for the time period you need. Customer service isn’t very helpful either other than apologizing profusely so don’t bother wasting your time calling them.

Do yourself a favor and do not ever consider using this place. I reserved a box truck two weeks prior to when I needed it. Showed up the day I scheduled the pick-up and was told they have no box trucks. They never called me beforehand to notify me that they would not have the truck I reserved. They were very forceful in attempting to get me to use the cargo van, which was not large enough for what I needed to move. They had at least 20 box trucks in their yard, but supposedly all were broken down. One of the employees barely said one word. The manager was very rude and inconsiderate (and I usually just let things fly, but this guy irritated me). After wasting 45 mins of my time driving there and arguing with Budget I left and got a box truck from Uhaul (which was wonderful).THEN I was charged a $50 no show fee from Budget. I showed! They just failed to provide what I had reserved TWO WEEKS PRIOR. Not like I reserved the truck 2 hours before pick-up. Luckily, Budget is refunding the fee, but the hassle of all of this is not worth it.If youre in the area and need a rental truck, use the Evergreen UHaul location - quick, friendly, easy.Budget is literally. the. worst.

If I could give it a no star I would. let me start off with, I booked a car with this company, prizes sounded good the deposit that they said I was going to put down sounded about right, so I go in at there store days before my trip to check if everything was ok with my account so when I come pick up my car I have no problems and it will be a quick process. well when I walked in the black man was a rude employee, he dont greet the customer, he was been loud, than I asked if the deposit was what they said over the phone and no, he gave me a bigger prize, so I walked out, in there lot, they dont even have nice cars, or plenty of cars, cars are dirty. I was trying to safe some money from my trip but is not worth it.

Reserved a12 person passenger van for a team trip. Arrived on time to pick up the van after confirming three times. The vehicle was dirty inside and out. After signing paperwork, they marginally cleaned the interior. I made the staff come back out with with cleaner and and wipe down the sticky cup holders and clean up trash. Upon arrival at home, I gave the van a through cleaning wiping the coffee off of the inside doors and additional cup holders. Extremely disappointed in the service!

We were refused service from this location and not given a reason why.My girlfriend went in to pick up a car she had reserved online and George Amoah (the owner of the franchise) said he needed further identification from her but would not share what was needed. Instead, he refused to rent the car to her. When I volunteered to rent the car in my name and he said flat out Im not renting the car to either of you. We were completely shocked. Was it something we had said? Did we not look like responsible people? For what reason could he just deny us a rental? Both of us have rented from Budget (sometimes for months at a time) with no issues.I demanded to know why he was refusing us service and he said he didnt need a reason. Needless to say, things got heated very quickly after that. His refusal seemed intensely personal. We were both shaking with anger. It was such a disturbing and upsetting experience. Avoid at all costs.

Worst experience I ever had this is the first time I am writing a review. If they had a zero star I will pick it. I wanted to warn you not wanted there. There is a older black man that works there I do know if he is the manager or not but he is rude and very nasty he act like the cars are his own. I think he is prejudices against his own race.I am sorry to say but I pray God will remove him from that company if not budget will lose alot of there good loyal customers.I rented a car in New York and dropped it off there I came back there two days later and he give me all kinds of prombles. I can go on and on please dont go there.

Rented a f150 pickup for a little over a day...showed up at 8 am when my rental began to get the car and was told that it had not been returned by the previous renter yet and to come back in 30 minutes. 30 minutes later called and was told on the phone that the guy who had the truck wanted to keep it another day and that I was basically out of luck even though I had reserved and payed for the rental over a month in advance. They told me they had a dodge journey that I could have and that would be my only option... they wouldnt even refund my money. So I drove back to the place to get the 3 row journey SUV that I was going to have to make work in place of the f150. Then to make it worse as I am going through the process of getting the paper work done the guy helping me which happened to also be the manager told me he could not rent the car to me... why?.. well because Im 19 and you have to be 21... now that would be the case but I am a USAA member and I booked through them so not only can I rent the car being under 21 but I also get the young driver fee waived. Now I had to explain this to the manager because he was extremely clueless as to any of this and told me I was wrong... when I told him that he should know this as my reservation shows my age and that I booked through usaa and everything he became very irate and started screaming at me that I didnt know his f***ing business and to shut the f up. When he calmed down he finally agreed that he would call someone to check and he went to the backroom and make a phone call.. when he came back he was so angry he didnt even want to talk to me anymore so he had another employee finish my paperwork and hand me the keys to the vehicle. By the time I got in the dodge journey and drove off it was 10 am and I had already lost 2 hrs of my time and the time I had paid to rent the vehicle. On top of that they still charged me for the rate of the f150 which was more expensive then the car I received and never compensated me for the time of my rental that was wasted.

I went to this location for a vehicle exchange after speaking to corporate. My rental is 600+ miles overdue for servicing and in the next week I will put another 600+ miles on it. I told the employee that I needed a car as big or larger than my current vehicle and that I would be returning it to NY (my scheduled return location). There were 4 mid/regular SUVs on the lot with NY tags. They offered me an elantra. Not the same size. I asked for the managers name and the onsite employee refused to provide even a first name for the site manager. Can I give no stars? Would never recommend this site for car rental. Rude and verbally threatening agent George- almost called police as I did not feel safe with his threatening behavior. I rent cars frequently for work so this is not the norm for Budget, just this site.

Dont waste your time here. Keyword is, waste. I took an Uber over there, arrived, and had the longest wait to be helped. Only a few people before me. Then when trying to pick a car, dont have the type of car Im liking for, that I reserved. They were going to put me into a different level and type of car. I wanted a sedan not an SUV. I askef them what the cost difference is going to be, and this was not information that he could pull up. Get to thw time to pay. Because I use debit card, not credit card there is an extra charge. I kniw this even states this in their website. They will also, at least at this location run your card through some credit check. Have no idea what this is. Mine didnt pass. No idea why. That was the end of that. I called Enterprise as I should of at the start. They picked me up at Budget. Since we were near the Frederick Airport, drove me over there, so the guy could pick up another vehicle without taking me to their store. I initialed and signed on their tablet. The charged my credit card, and I was in my way. Spent less than 5 minutes with Enterprise, and I was on the road. Over an hour lost dealing with Budget.

I reserved a truck for a one-way move months in advance, and modified my reservation over the phone a few days before the scheduled start date. The day my rental was originally scheduled to start, I got a phone call saying that they didnt have a truck for me. Two problems: 1) They apparently never actually modified my reservation. 2) They didnt have a truck for me!! That day or the next, which I modified it to. And they didnt care one bit that not having a truck pretty much ruins an entire move. They said, Sorry, we rented everything out to UPS. What is the point of making a reservation if it doesnt mean anything at all? They said theyd see what they could do and call me back, but they never did. STAY AWAY. U-Haul in Gettysburg, PA got me a truck the same day and were super professional.

If I could rate this facility no starts I would. Customer service was horrible the owner George was rude, very aggressive, difficult, and combative.Rented a SUV from Budget in Frederick MD, When I picked up the vehicle the exterior was not cleaned and the inside was not filthy but could have used a better vacuuming. Since we were in a rush to get on the road for our 7 hour trip we let it go. While driving the windows where so dirty we could barely see out the windows and mirrors.We returned the car a day early since we got back in time before the place was closing. Arrived about 15 minutes before closing. When turning in the car George said he was charging an additional amount for a cleaning fee as there was some minor crumps on the floor in the back, a piece of a pretzel on the floor of the drive side, and foot traffic from stepping in and out of the car.We told him that when we received the vehicle it was not cleaned and we were actually going to bring it to their attention when dropping off. George, ( who advised he is the owner of the facility) then became very argumentative, verbally threating, and rude. While in the store I advised I would not be renting from them again and that I was filing a complaint. He suggested that I threatened him since I said I was filing a complaint. I asked for his name and the manager or owner and he refused to give me his name and said he was the owner. There was another customer in the store that actually provided his name after seeing how obnoxious he was acting.Nowhere in the contract does it say we are supposed to vacuum out the vehicle before it is returned. No pets and no smoking was the conditions and we abided by that.I rent frequently for work and travel and I will never rent with Budget again. I would rather pay a little more be treated with respect as a customer and a person. George the owner of this franchise gives Budget/Avis a bad name.

I have been a budget customer for years and a fast break customer since 2008 and when I say this location had the worst service ever! I mean it was worse than the two other locations in Maryland I have been to. I am late writing this review (8/1/2016) but I never forgot the horrible service I experienced. I would not recommend a dog go here. The younger guy was cordial yet still rude however it wasnt until the Hamite came out and began to be very rude and disrespectful that I decided since he was not going to honor budgets OWN promotion of the free upgrade that I would not rent from them. I believe he must have purchased his own fleet instead of budget the way he went about the ordeal. My warning is if you have AARP or use any coupon dont go there PERIOD. Since looking on the web I have seen so many bad reviews on this location it is pathetic which lets me know its not just me. Budget needs to take pride in who they hire or let franchise (if any) We came up from South Carolina and I can tell you that location has 3.5 stars meaning I overstand no one is perfect but it costs NOTHING to be polite and courteous to the customer who is keeping the company you represent in business. P.s I rent from budget exclusively this is why I took the time after these past months to write this review considering me and my family cant rent from a convenient location to us because of the HORRIFIC service we experienced. Budget REALLY needs to do something about this owner. If not I know the MostHigh will because you can not continue to deal with people in the manner in which you have and think you will get away with it. Check Genesis 34 for Clarity.

They didnt have the vehicle which was reserved ahead of time. And then even tho the lady over the phone said there would be no issue with using a debit card when arrived they treated it as a huge hassle. Customer service needs to be addressed here or you may lose many more customers.

Same as several other reviewers, if I could rate this facility no stars or negative I would. The owner George Amoah is not only rude but a CHEATER. To make long story short, BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR CONTRACT, he may add servers to your contract without notice you or even after you said NO. Especially when you are in a rush, beware of this guy.I was moving and need a truck. Since I had quite good experiences with Budget and Avis Car rental before, I booked a reservation for a 12 truck at Budget of Gaithersburg. Then the day before my rental was scheduled, I got a phone call saying that they didnt have any truck for me. I called back and was told that there were no truck available even at near locations and my reservation is only to guarantee the price not the truck!After the negotiation, the manager of Budget of Gaithersburg agreed to transfer my reservation to the nearest Budget location, which is Budget of Frederick at more than 25 miles away with a 26 truck. He also gave me 100 free miles to cover the distance. Although I never drive a such big truck, I did need a truck and this is a solution. I agreed to pick up the truck at Frederick. I never expected a much bigger headache than the big truck ahead of me.I went to Georges location at Frederick at April 1st around 4pm. He was a little unhappy since I got free mileages. He pushed me on buying some kind of protection. I said clearly No, its only one day. I will be careful. If someone look the surveillance video at this facility, he or she will find out the truth.Then I asked George whether he has smaller truck since I dont need such a big 26 truck. He told me he may have one but will need it by the next morning. Since I had a meeting on the next morning and I noticed they have a key drop box available, I told George I can drop the key during the nighttime so he can get the truck by the morning. George very seriously asked me to promise on returning the truck by 10 am not 4pm next day and quite friendly shown me how to use the drop box but never mentioned there will be an after-hour fee. What a smart George!!! It is myself who mentioned drop box. It is myself who promised to return the truck much earlier.It was April 1st 4:30 pm at Frederick, MD, a big thunderstorm was ahead. Everyone was in rush. A man, George, just did you a favor and he is the manager and owner of a Budget facility. Will you trust him? I did! How stupid I was!I signed the contract without knowing George added the Insurance I denied to buy. I promised to drop off the key by the morning without knowing there will be an after-hour fee. I returned the truck by dropped the key to the drop box without a receipt. Its all my fault!!! So you can imagine how surprised I was when I saw my credit card bill bumped up to $68.56 from $22.95.I called Budget customer service and they simply said You signed the contract and you are supposed to read it. The charge are valid and we can do nothing.So STAY AWAY from George and this location. I dont know Madhusudan Tyagi but this is it.BUDGET OF FREDERICK291 BUCHEIMER RD,FREDERICK, MD 21701Stay away from it!Also Beware of Budget. They are not as good as before, at least for the truck rental.About me, I will simple boycott both George and Budget.

This place is the worst experience I had with a rental. I was dropping a one way rental I drove for like 65 miles. My condition report was marked at half tank of gas and he was charging me for a full tank. He refused to call the original pick up location to solve the problem and I had to do his job. I asked for a ride 0.3 miles away so I dont walk on a road with no sidewalk for safety reasons. The car was clean at return and I had a empty cup of coffee I asked to deposit in his trash and was told they have no trash can I can use. Very rude and very unfriendly place to do business with. Stay away and use other locations that deserves your business.

Horrible, rude (George) and difficult to work with to resolve issue. Had extenuating circumstances and despite receiving instructions from Budget corporate on what to do since office was closed when it was scheduled to be open, still received additional charges to my bill. Would NOT recommend.
