Very bad service, we really ended up disappointed in the apt, it had cucas, apart, they gave us an apt, in poor condition, and one very different from the one they said, which they would give us, and they had shown, I did not like the services, and the maintenance, the people in the office, terrible.

We are moving to Maryland and researching apartment complexes. I’ve been met with very kind and informative staff with other complexes about the simple questions I had. This apartment complex is a different story. The woman I spoke to in the office today was incredibly rude. Not informative at all. Needless to say, we’re moving on and looks like we dodged a bullet.

Dont live here. Thanks to everyone who mentioned roaches, bugs, and crime.I will no longer look at this place.WowThey will respond with a generic message like most disingenuous properties.Hi John, we are sorry to hear about...Hi Tammy, we are sorry to hear about...Hi Mark, we are sorry to hear about...Hi Lisa, we are sorry to hear about...Youd think a HUMAN BEING would be a HUMAN DOING instead of seeming like a robot doing. Get on your job people youre not robots. Im sure you can type customize messages to people and fix their individual issues.

I currently live in this apartment complex. Ive been here for 10 months and have had no issues. Ive seen a lot of complaints about this location and I wanted to share my experience because I do not see it the same as many of these poor reviews. My roommate and I read through many of these before moving in and against all the reviews moved in anyway. The price couldnt be beat and the tour and hospitality from Lauren was great and we felt at ease.To address the main concerns in other reviews:Bugs- Ive seen maybe 3 bugs in 10 months and our apartment has been sprayed at least once, maybe twice. The management company is also very responsive to maintenance requests so I would assume if there is a bug problem they would have someone spray in a timely manner.Parking- I have maybe had to park on the street 4 times. Most times I can find a spot in close proximity to my apartment and if there isnt a spot its usually later in the evening when everyone is probably already home from work. When parking on the street, there is generally plenty of options and Im really not any further from my building.Safety- I have never been concerned. People are friendly. There are many families. I have made friends with several neighbors. There is a code for every building and everything is pretty well lit.Lastly, I live on a second floor apartment and I will say the one negative is the noise from above me. The family has children so that probably adds to it but there is definitely a good bit of noise from running around and heavy walkers. So if youre comfortable with daily steps of living on the 3rd floor, Id recommend it for a lower noise level.Oh and one more thing, the cleaning ladies (they clean the common areas and laundry room in the building) are super nice and have done a great job through the pandemic and the management company even did a drawing for renters at the beginning when times and money were hard. They gave 18 (I think) renters $200 off of their rent if they won the drawing, which was entered simply by paying rent on time that month. My roommate and I were lucky enough to win this, so Im thankful for the kindness of the company as well!I recommend this complex if youre looking for a good value for your money. Good location, safe in my opinion, and I believe the management company is new within the past year or two so maybe some of these older complaints were with a previous company. If you have any questions feel free to reach out!

I love my apartment floor plan, happy they allow cats and dogs, rent is a lil high due to you pay for all utilities separate but overall is a good community where I feel comfortable raising my kids and management/staff are very nice and understanding specially in this hard time with the pandemic.

I would not recommend living here to anyone unless they are really strapped for cash. It may be affordable, but it is not safe or nice. Also please note the same management company owns Hunters Glen and Wellington Trace. I cannot speak to the experience at these two complexes, but just keep that in mind.I moved from Kentucky to Maryland just after college and was looking for a cheap place to rent with my fiance who didnt have a job lined up yet. We ultimately chose this place to rent because we could afford it with only my pay if he didnt find a job within a reasonable amount of time. Originally our lease was for 5 months, but we extended for another year. We extended, despite the poor conditions, because of the cheap rent and poor planning (we didn’t have somewhere else to move set up yet).During the tour, the apartments looked nice enough. They weren’t luxury by any means but looked nice enough for my fiance and I’s first place together. We were especially thrilled because we could have a bottom floor apartment with brand new carpet. After we moved in we experienced several problems. As many others have stated, there were issues with cockroaches. It eventually got to a point where I felt it was useless to request maintenance assistance with them because they would be back within 2 weeks. I set up my own roach traps from Amazon, which helped. When maintenance did come to spray for bugs, theyd often give a very short notice and request all items be out of the cabinets to spray. It was extremely frustrating to come home to find a note in my door that they were spraying for bugs tomorrow, so I had to spend that evening moving all my dishes, then the next putting them all away.In addition, I lived on a bottom floor apartment that flooded 3+ times during my 1.5 year stay with them. The first time the apartment flooded they did not respond to my emergency request and said it got lost, so we ended up with ankle deep water throughout the apartment. I felt as if I was fighting the management company to get them to assist with my situation. All times after that they were prompt in their response to stop the flooding. However, it was clear they did not plan to fix the actual flooding issue and just wanted to clean up the mess afterwards. One of the times the apartment flooded, I was the only resident able to take the workday off to ensure everything was going as planned. Unfortunately, I had to assist moving the furniture to help replace the carpet. This wouldnt be a big deal except for the fact I had a severe arm sprain. I was not supposed to be using my arm.The actual workers in the office are friendly enough. However, I’m aware that it’s the management company that’s bad. The management company owns several other apartment complexes in Frederick, including Hunters Glen and Wellington Trace.I’m posting this review after I have moved out and no longer rent. I want to make sure everyone is aware of how awful these apartments are. The people who live in the area are nice enough and rent is cheap. You may smell illegal substances being smoked throughout the apartments, but it’s once in a blue moon. I’d expect that at any apartment complex, honestly. You’re near great restaurants in Frederick, and it’s about a 15-minute drive to… well, pretty much anywhere in Frederick. However, I would not recommend this apartment to anyone looking to rent in the Frederick area.

I lived here for 3.5 years and compared to other places and what you get, It a pretty good price. I paid more and gotten less. The big thing I liked was the customer service. Fast even when not an emergency. My only reason for leaving is I purchased a house or I would be still living here.

If there were negative stars this would be the place for it! management being very unprofessional, they lied from the beginning, our apartment looked nice until we started finding mold, and our air filter hadn’t been changed in over a year, my husband has asthma and was getting sick every day living there . Roaches started coming through the bathroom drains, not to mention everything falls apart in the apartment(doors cabinets, etc). Then charged us an extra fee after already paying almost 3000 to move from there!! DO NOT MOVE HERE .

Has anyone experienced issues with cockroaches at this apartment community? I just signed a lease, after which I was able to view and inspect the apartment. The representative of the management company told me it was not available to view until the day we went in to sign the lease. During the process we were given our keys and told we had two days to submitt a report with our inspection results. The apartment itself was nice, clean carpets, fresh paint, nice appliances. There were a few Minnie issues such as window treads that stick in the master bedroom. Well I opened the master closet and a reddish brown insect crawled out and up the wall. After work that evening I returned, with my family. Now there were roaches freely roaming the dining area, bathrooms and kitchen. My boyfriend moved the fridge and we found more roaches and roach bodies. I refuse to bring my belongings to a place where they will be infested and ruined. More importantly I have two young children who dont need to be exposed to the health risks associated with these germ carriers.

Definitely an apartment to AVOID!!The apartment I lived in, was infested with bed bugs!! I have NEVER seen a bed bug before until this place. One morning I woke up and I had bad rash and bites all over my legs and arms, went to urgent care. Had no idea what caused this and went home. One day I was laying on my bed and I saw a bug crawling on the ceiling, it actually dropped directly to my face. SO GROSS!! Called the landlord for treatments. The treatments did not work, so I went to Home Depot and got diatomaceous earth and seems it helped a little. They kept coming back so I decided to leave the apartment for good. I agreed to pay one month in advance.I got all of my things out, moved back to my parents. I called the office, to inform them that I am leaving. They said the source of bed bugs was from my bed which is a LIE! Ever since I moved out, there was NO bed bug issues at my parents!!I called the office to tell them that I was going to drop off the keys and the lady told me how much I should paid so I went to Giants to get the money orders. When I came in the office and dropped off the checks, all was good. Then last week I received a letter from the greed corporation that owns this apartment. They said I have to pay like $250 and gave me f.... 15 days or they will send to the collection agency. WT%... In the letter, it says they charged me wrong. Well if it was wrong, they should f*** take this responsibility!!!!! and I was not warned or informed about anything. Before moving to this place, I read other reviews on here about bed bugs, I was like Im gonna give this place a chance. BIG MISTAKE EVER!

You know why there are so few negative reviews? Because these guys are doing everything in their power to keep swindling apartment sales and leases out of unsuspecting tenants who float in and out of Frederick. They report and remove any negative reviews that pop up.First, assuming this review survives the week, if you have a large number of children or family members and dont mind a lot of noise, look no further: this place is the place for you. If you have any kind of standards of living or expectations from your apartment complex, move on.Second, the leasing office is an office for sales-that is all. After signing the lease, if you have any kind of complaint or need anything at all, they will do everything in their power to shirk the responsibility onto some other party, call the security guard(who never picks up the phone), file a complaint online (youll quickly find what a waste of time that is), call the police (because if you feel that your life is being threatened, theyre the only ones who can help you). Unless you need an overpriced apartment, these guys are worthless.Third, after finding that youre basically living in a third-world country as far as what you can get in terms of service and value for your hard-earned monthly lease payment, youll find that youre within close proximity of all of the people around you. If your neighbors have kids, you have kids. If your neighbors are loud and have parties late at night, youre not getting any sleep no matter how hard you try. Call the police? Get ready to be harassed by your neighbors and intimidated by the gang members that like to frequent the area. Complain? We already found out how much they care when you complain.Fourth, the water payment is for the entire building, so even if youre cautious with your water-usage, youre still paying for the neighbor with 6 kids to wash and bathe each of those kids-great if you have a large family or a large number of people who need to be cleaned on a regular basis; not so good if its just you and your spouse.Let me be very clear now: if you signed a lease with these people and run into these problems, no one will help you. Unless you have a lawyer and have basically the lease term to spend fighting these people and your neighbors for one night of rest, youre trapped. You may as well buy a gun and get really good at using it, as well as pray to God that you dont have to because thats all thats standing between you and the horrible people who call this place home with the exception of maybe 5% of the people who are just as terrified of the God awful mistake theyve made in signing with these people. The happiest people in the apartment complex are the people loading the moving van as fast as they can because nobody with half a brain subjects themselves to these conditions for longer than they have to.Say goodbye to a year of your life and prepare to move because you cannot escape if you were gullible enough to sign that lease here. It looks nice from the outside, but the longer you stay the less the view of the mountains in the distance can take you away from this nightmare that you call your life.

Lived here yrs ago. Can not believe I forgot to rate this garbage dump. I had to leave early cause of the ridiculous bug problem. I mean, absolutely unlivable conditions. This place should be closed down. I walked into my sons room and was horrified to find a roach in his bed. That was the last straw. I moved the next wk. Of course Elmwood was quick to put it as an eviction *which is fine*. Everything has been settled with collection agency and my lesson was learned to never rent from a company as terrible as this one. When I first moved in I noticed the bug problem and quickly called the office only to have the secretary whisper put one in a bag and bring it to the office so we can see it. 🤦‍♀️ Im not the only person who got swindled out of money at the place. I, alone, can count five friends who had to leave cause their apts were also infested. As I said, this place should have been shut down yrs ago and has absolutely no business letting people live in those conditions. This place is so terrible that I couldnt help but think the people who wrote good reviews are friends of the staff/owners cause it is well known in frederick, md that these apts are dumps. I was new to the area at the time so unfortunately I didnt know how bad they were. The model they show you will be nothing like the actual apt you get. Please beware!

Listen, the bottom line here is you get what you pay for.. or maybe less than you pay for.You will be wine and dined through their model apartment but the fact of the matter is you are not going to get anything like what they show you.My experience has been that the apartments have paper thin walls, noisy floors, and are not sealed correctly so drafts come in. Your shower will regularly shift hot to cold ever 20 or so seconds. Your apartment will have roaches. If you come home after 8pm there will be no where to park. The building may have door codes but everyone (kids, all tenants, non-tenants) knows them so it is not secure. There will be a significant marijuana odor.On the other side of things maintenance is relatively responsive the gas heating will save you a good deal on utilities and... well thats it for the good.To further elaborate on the cons because some things need it; the roaches.... since almost day one they have been in my place. The response is inadequate and intrusive. Rather than find how they are getting in and sealing it off, you will go through almost monthly pest control visits if you complain about it. During these visits which can happen anytime between 9am and 5 pm, you are required to empty out your entire kitchen and after the extermination you can not return for multiple hours. This is especially fun when the pest control almost always comes just before 5pm. It may not sound burdensome but when you do it almost every month with no change in the roaches it becomes exhausting. The buildings are very old and it is impossible for the community to fix the floors or walls so you will 24/7 live with your neighbors noise. In regards to the water temperature. They will not replaces the building water heater so it will never be fixed. Btw you share your water, sewer and water heating bill with the whole building. So expect $80-100 a month for that. To add on to it many of your neighbors have more people living with them than on the lease or allowed by law. You will be paying for them cause you are charged based on people on your lease. The parking... over crowded apts means over crowed lot. Although the lease says no commercial vehicles, you will see dozens of work trucks taking up spots. Construction, landscaping, home cleaning to be specific.it is sometimes impossible to find parking.Since it seems everyone, esp kids have all the door codes, people will be running through your building playing or cutting through, even though they dont live there. Also there will be many, less than upstanding citizens and noncitizens loitering in and around your building. Be mindful of your surroundings, esp at night. Dont become a victim.Although many of the office staff are friendly and seemingly concerned for your complaints and requests, nothing will ever be done beyond basic maintenance requests. They will not successfully handle any complaint or concern. When pushed to resolve an issue, you will be handed over to a less friendly member of staff who will respond with things like, and I quote what do you expect us to do deal with it if you are willing to pay more we might have a resolution keep in mind the concerns Im personally referring to are lease violations that are their responsibility to resolve. Finally, there is heavy theft in this community. Do not leave valuables in your car, post a message on your door asking delivery man to knock when leaving a package. If it is outside your door longer than an hour, consider it stolen. There is also heavy drug use and some gang activity. As I said earlier, be mindful of your surroundings esp at night. In conclusion, I believe like me, if you have looked to live here, its the low price that drew you here. If it is desperation that makes you lease here, I wish you good luck. I promise you will be unhappy.Btw they will probably get this post deleted from the reviews like many others I have posted and are no longer here. I have copied this and will continue to post it repeatedly until they stop deleting it. Thank you for reading.

I have had tons of problems in the past - not with management or the actual apartment, but the people. Some crazy chick and her billion unruly children lived next door (paper thin walls) and I was at the end of my wits. I hate complaining, but I seriously complained my ass off. Finally she left and now I have new neighbors, actually more people in that apartment than before, with a tiny cute dog, but they are SILENT! Very respectful set of tenants in our apartment building (in Hunters Glen, so they are row house type instead of one giant building) and we all pretty much know each other. The buildings are code locked but somehow Mormons make their way in or in one case, a kid got in a couple of times and pulled the fire alarm. We do not have a noise problem in our building, but my recommendation is to ask to visit at different times of the day before renting an apartment so you get an idea of what it will be like. I recommend living on the highest floor so no one is above you, the floors are so loud and creaky but some carpeting does help.Management is friendly, repairs are QUICK and unintrusive. Pest control comes regularly. We used to have a roach problem until Crazy Lady moved out and now its just an occasional spider or silverfish. No rats/mice. The gym is small but the equipment works and there are TVs, bathrooms and vending machines.Pools are kept very clean and there is always an active life guard close by.At night there is a security company that drives around the property and responds promptly when you call the #, police presence in the area is great too.Sometimes I see an article in the news about something that happened here (and see police in the lot sometimes) like some guy who attacked another dude with a machete, or shots fired... TBH the area is full of PoC and we are all chill, so if you arent looking for trouble, life is good here.Comcast serviced internet here has only gone down like twice in three years. The internet is fast and reliable, so is the electricity. I think all the cables are underground. We did not lose internet or power during the 2016 Jonas blizzard. Snow season is fine here. Plows come through the lot and street often because of the elementary school next door. Maintenance keeps the sidewalks and stairs salted, as well as leaves a bucket of sand for us just in case.Unless my rent gets stupidly high, I wont be moving for many years. I pay $1040 for a 2 bed 1.5 bath. Your results may vary.
