I was driving back from Cape Cod to Vermont, having pumped up a pancake-flat tire when I left. About 2 hours into my journey, thinking I had finally cleared the hellish carcrashes & thunderstorms . . . the tire light came on. I exited 495 & by blind luck found Central St. Garage after just a couple of miles. In about 15 minutes theyd put the car on the lift, removed the nail from the tire, plugged the leak, & sent me on my way for $26. My trusted mechanic in Vermont confirmed that all was well with the tire, & its held air just fine for 2 months. THANK YOU SO MUCH, Central Street Garage!

I needed a flat tire patched ASAP. They took great care of me, patched the tire, replaced it and made sure my air pressure gauge was all set and took the car for a test ride. 100% satisfied and going back!Edit: took my car here for an oil change and inspection. I did have to leave it there for a few hours but they also checked on my tires and brakes and were 100% honest about what I actually needed. Coupled with the reasonable price for a full synthetic oil change and I will be back again!

Great experience. Dropped my car off in the morning for an engine light and they had it fixed and ready for me by 2pm the same day. Friendly and professional. I would suggest using them for your cars needs. Thanks, guys!

Words can not express how thankful I am to Al and his crew at Central Street Garage. After two months of getting the run around from the car dealership... It was the TCM they changed that, then I was told the transmission bearings needed to be changed and when I finally get the money together for that they tell me no I needed a new transmission. Long story short frustrated with Ford. I bought one, called Al and asked if he can do the job, with out hesitation he said to bring it in. They changed the transmission in one day and for a whole lot cheaper then what the dealer would have done it for. I would and will recommend Central Street to everyone. Thank you so much Guys I really appreciate the work you did.

Excellent business. They go all out for the customer. Sometimes it is better to deal with a local business like this, because they can tailor service to your needs more than a national chain can

My family has been using Central St garage for about 20 years, now spanning multiple generations. Al, who runs the front office, is a straight shooter who explains everything and doesnt upsell. This is an honest shop that gets their business from customer loyalty, word of mouth recommendations, and maintaining their reputation in the community. Even when I lived in Boston I would take my car back to Central St to use a mechanic I know and trust.

Have been taking our cars there for 3 years. I have come to trust them and of which, I never felt taken advantage- different than my previous experiences at other local car places. They are business-like and I wouldnt describe them as overly friendly, a complaint I read from another reviewer, but Ive always been treated with respect.

Not the friendliest place.. overcharging for everything. Costumers BeAware Better believe all other negative reviews as ive had the same experience. Had these guys change the oil on my ford and also wanted them to replace a front turn signal bulb if they could and tell me how much it would cost. They say oh $55 cause there is some work involved pulling the light out( it doesnt involve pulling a motor out, it??) I rolled my eyes took my car and Went down the road at advance auto parts bought two bulbs for $6 and had the advance auto parts guy replace not one but both turn signal light bulbs for me and literally took him 5 minutes and i handed him a$20. For his honesty and helping me.

Recently had some work done to my vehicle. When I received my vehicle plastic clips from my trim on the inside of my car in areas unrelated to the repairs were missing. Upon inspection of the new radiator installed I realized when they filled it they must not have used to funnel because there was coolant all over my engine Bay. Checking underneath my vehicle I noticed all of the protective plastic That had previously been In great condition aside from one small crack was torn apart in multiple places the work I had done didnt even require removing the splash shield. After obliterating my splash shield they tried to zip tie it together as if I wouldnt notice. And to add insult to injury they had my car in their shop long enough to tell me that there was something extra wrong with it, But not long enough to tell me I had a tail light out which I then got pulled over for upon leaving their shop. If they told me they f*** my splash shield up I woulda been willing to purchase a new one and have them install it at no cost but when I called to ask their customer service I was told my concern wasnt a big deal and the guy on the phone would be more than happy to rip the rest of my plastic off for me if Id come in. Honestly all around c***** experience will not be bringing my car for any of my cars in the future here for as much as an oil change. There is either a hack job or a bunch of teenagers in that mechanic shop.(Per your response and upon further inspection: My friend Chris did me a favor for Christmas not knowing I was in the market for a new car all together. The hack job that destroyed the plastic trim of my car tore my grill off to access my radiator and broke the clips that hold the grille in place. They also must have broken the button Because there was and still is a button raised trying to hold my grill to my radiator top plastic protector but it didnt fit Because its quite clearly from my splash guard underneath my car. So clearly the person fixing my car broke the clips broke the buttons try to fix it by pulling buttons from other places in my car and Mickey Mouse it back together. I had to figure out Mickey Mouse my own situation for my splash guard which was dragging around Because of your shops and negligence and carelessness. And to be clear about the manhole cover I hit I hit that with my frame not my plastic. I inspected my car thoroughly after the hit. No additional damage nothing dragging. Youre a flat rate shop cutting corners to maximize profit A bunch a hack jobs.) Oh and Just to clarify this wasnt a review on who paid for the work this was a review on the work that was done. And one final note my car is burning coolant Quite rapidly the one thing I wasnt complaining about, the radiator swap, seems to also be garbage.
