I’m seeing multiple things about collections. They had all of our information to tell us that we owed but never contacted us. They had our new address. We lived there for 3 years and we complained about the poor carpet coming up because it was leaving metal exposed. Maintenance didn’t fix it and we were told we would not be charged for carpet. Our apartment also flooded due to poor plumbing and it destroyed the downstairs bathroom and carpet. I’m assuming this is what it’s for. But I wouldn’t know because we never received any Mail or calls to rectify this. Insanely unprofessional and not the only thing I could complain about with these people.
The photos on the website do not represent the actually apartments. They are run down. Its a great place if you like to see a heavy police presence due to murders and other illegal activities.Oh yeah. Once you plan on leaving. Plan on getting a notice from a collection agency. They wont contact you directly. They will send a notice to your old address at their apartment and instantly send you to collections. It is a scam. We had to pay $1200 or have our credit score damaged. They would not provide us with an itemized bill.
Lived there almost 4 yrs and yes the move out charge was outrageous! They rent to anyone and everybody. Never had an issue with staff. But definitely some scams going on for the fees charges. I dont recommend these apts
Maintenance responded quickly to our issues and fixed them up quickly! Thanks so much :)
Please do not move into this apartment complex!! The office will never answer the phone and will charge you for things that never happened. Maintenance will do a poor quality job on whatever problems you have for example my ceiling in my apartment cracked open w/ water leaking through. They came to replace the hole but it’s creating a bigger hole to deal w in the ceiling bc of the poor quality job they do to fix it. PLEASE LOOK AT OTHER PLACES!!!!!!
Lived here for just over 2 years. Maintenance was pretty good. Generally pretty nice minus one encounter. People in the office always seem clueless.Be prepared for when you move out because that’s when they really screw you over. We were obviously expecting them to fix up the apartment for the next tenant and send us the maintenance bill. All places do that. What we WERENT expecting them to do was send said bill straight to the debt collectors 2 weeks after we moved out. They didn’t contact us to let us know how much the bill was ($1200) or see if we could pay them directly. Instead they decided to go through a debt collector. Now mind you, we have 30 days to pay it before it impacts our credit. Luckily we have the means to do this, but not everyone does. Imagine being a good tenant for over 2 years with no complaints or late payments just to be screwed over in the end with a surprise bill you have 30 days to pay or else it’ll sit on your credit for the next 7 years. Also the police are there a LOT. Get used to the sirens and the texts from family asking if you’re okay or saw what happened. The building I lived in was raided only 3 apartments down. A month before that a man was shot and killed only a couple apartment buildings away. They didn’t even check on those of us who were involuntarily directly outside the chaos. I recommend googling “the summit at Ridgewood apartments” and then reviewing the “news” tab.The couple months leading up to when we finally moved out, there were uhaul trucks seemingly all over the place while the parking lot slowly got emptier and emptier. I talked to a couple of my neighbors who were worried about their kids and also looking to move out soon. Take that as your warning sign if you’re considering living here.Overall, it wasn’t the *worst* experience I could have had at an apartment complex, but I wouldn’t do it again.
Lived here for over 3 years in different units.Getting ahold of someone in the office is worst then reaching out to someone about your phone or internet bill. The number provided on the site puts you in a continuous feedback loop where they dont actually allow you to talk to a representative - its frustrating to say the least.Left the apartment in near the same condition as it was left since I barely lived there while traveling abroad. Was still charged with a $1200 carpet replacement fee. These people are scammers.I should have invested in a house instead of living here because while the rent is reasonable theres other hidden fees like this thatll bone you. Take this route if youre financially fit enough to do so. Otherwise, good luck!
Just moved in. I will let you know more after I am settled. Be prepared to pay your rent, deposit and trash fee by money order for the first time. They do not take credit or debit cards, personal checks or cash.Adding on (3-24-2021). Had some maintenance issues that were taken care of quickly and professionally. These are older apartments. I admit that I was disappointed. But, as I moved in and made it my own I was quite pleased. A recent change was and upgrade to each apartment with a solar switch on the porch lights. It looks very cool at night! It is spring and it looks like the grounds are being prepared for flowers. Yay!
Its been a nice place for us. Lived here 2 years, had a problem with the neighbors which was quickly resolved by the leasing office thanks to my security camera, had a few maintenance problems that were quickly resolved (a lightbulb went out and a leak in the sink). Recently upgraded the toilets.Only con is the heating and AC. The heating works, but its 3 baseboard heaters and 2 of them are directly under windows, which makes the electricity bill sky rocket. Weve paid $200 once for electricity because of this flaw. We havent even turned on the AC because its just a window unit in the living room, so not worth the worth it.Also, when we moved into our upgraded apartment, the medicine cabinet in the bathroom was replaced by a larger mirror with no storage. I dont consider that an upgrade but whatever. For just over $600/month, its been nice for us. Staff are friendly and easy to work with in my experience.
Please look up the crime rate in this area. Very unsafe place to live. They say they monitor the parking lot. But my car was keyed and broken into multiple times and nobody saw anything. We also lived in mold half the time we were living there and the appliances are so out of date for the price. Look elsewhere
All of the staff are attentive and professional! I am greeted everyone I come into the office. Nikita Cain is awesome. She is very knowledgeable and kind. Maintenance is always taken care of in a timely manner. Great place to call home.
Comfortable place to live with several useful amenities, and the price is great considering the location in the city.
Nikita was so helpful with my move in and my transfer I appreciate her so much. The apartments are amazing any issues I have they are taken care of same day or next day.
The staff was great the Price was right the apts. were clean . Very happy
Nikita was so much help with the whole process from application to moving in was by my side with every question along the way recommend asking for her if interested in getting an apartment here
Nikita is always so friendly and down to solve any problems you bring to her! You can tell she takes her job seriously and loves to make things right! Love to see it!!! She rocks :)
With the current situation processes are a little different. Applied online for an apartment. Surprised to be assigned to one person who would handle the complete process. Our one contact was Taryn. She explained the process and the milestones to get to the Move in date. Taryn was very responsive to emails and phone calls. Even had a small blip, she didnt skip a beat, jumped right on it and resolved it in less than 24 hours. Was a pleasure working with her, may you be so fortunate!
Its about as meh as it comes. Its exactly what youd expect from a two star apartment complex. Some of the outlets in my BFs apartment didnt work and were never fixed, and the in unit dryer they provided was godawful. Also due to the building design it kinda feels like youre living in a cave, with three max windows. Also their no smoking policy is fake, they say its resident enforced meaning you cant do anything about it. If your neighbor smokes, your stuffs gonna smell like smoke. That being said, its cheap, and safe enough, and its not the ugliest place Ive seen, and the management is pretty nice Also, to break your lease you just have to pay the next months rent so there isnt too much commitment. It was fine for a few months but i wouldnt really want to live there long term.
The maintenance guys are great, the office staff very friendly but one of them definitely uses no common sense when renting apartments. I have leased apartments and would never be so inconsiderate of renters already in apartments as they are here. You dont put a family with 2 or 3 kids in a 2 bedroom apartment above people who work and have no children! We are not renewing the lease and I wont be recommending this complex. Started out great here but the last 6 months have been ridiculous, sad too maintenance guys are great.
DO NOT LET THE PICTURES ONLINE DECEIVE YOU! The pictures of the apartments they show, are NOT what you’re going to get. Apartments are extremely outdated, with cheap cabinets, doors, etc. unless you pay an arm and a leg, which you could get a much nicer apartment and complex for at the price they nail you with.I don’t even know where to start with the cons of living in this dump. I had pest control in my apartment pretty much once a week (they only come to the complex once a week) to empty my mouse traps because I had been catching mice like crazy. I lost count by the 3rd month I was there. I’d be sitting on my couch watching TV and suddenly hear a trap go off. I had been so used to it because of how often it happened. My neighbor to the left of me had the same problem.Second, YOU WILL NOT SEE YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT AT THE END OF YOUR LEASE. I had carpet steam cleaned before I left and there was absolutely nothing wrong with the place when I left. No holes in the walls, nothing broken, and completely spotless. I had definitely left it cleaner than it was when I moved in. I moved out in May and called sometime in June to ask about it but they informed me, “it generally takes about 6-8 weeks to get it back,” which is illegal. By law, they must have your deposit back within 45 days. The one pro of living here is the maintenance and pest control guys. They’re very nice and I got to know them well, since I saw them every week for the mice infestation and everything breaking by simply touching it.I was only there for 9 months, (only needed it for a year of college) luckily. I wouldn’t have been able to last a full year 😷. I would never ever recommend this complex to anybody. The convenient location is not worth all of the bad things about this place.
For months I called the office, the police, & sworn protection about the smell of marijuana in my apartment. Smelled like it had been smoked in there. My 6 month old at the time had just been released from the hospital after being in respiratory distress. He came home doing breathing treatments & I was specially instructed that he was not to be exposed to ANY kind of smoke. I presented the hospital papers in the office. Kept getting blown off about requesting a transfer. I left without notice to protect my child as he was still struggling to breathe. Being charged 3,300$ when my leaving could’ve been avoided all together if somebody actually cared. This place is outrageous in price for how trashy it is & the people that live there.
Been here months now, nice apartment, nice neighbours, had no issues, staff are nice, its very safe, there are always maintenance guys out on their golf carts multiple times a day. The pools were lovely in the summer. Just had the polar vortex and the paths were salted every day .Snow removed from the paths too.I see some people saying the issue is when they move out, well I guess we will find out. Will update when our lease is up and we move out of town x
This isnt the place you want to be. Management changed at the start of this month which resulted in having to update payment information online in the resident portal. I took care of that in due time, submitted payment for Augusts rent on July 30th. About two weeks later I got a letter in my mail slot saying I had ten days to pay or get out. Thankfully I had taken a picture of the payment confirmation in July, because they changed my resident portal to indicate that I had not paid and that I now owed $75 for a late fee. I contested that, provided proof that I submitted on time. They removed the late charge. Great right? Hold on. Tried to submit payment again (took another screenshot). I waited several days and the money was never drafted from my account. Come home yesterday and find a letter stating the check was returned for non-sufficient funds, along with a $25 returned check fee. I took it into the office and told them I could provide proof that I have had money in my account for over a month waiting to be taken out of for rent. They said they could remove the $25 charge, but that the NSF would stay on my record. Im taking a money order in today for both August and September rent, along with my 30+ days notice of moving out. Will be doing money orders for the remaining duration of my lease to avoid this nonsense in the future.Dont expect your deposit back, dont expect people who know what theyre doing, and certainly dont expect them to treat you fairly. This place is trash.
The new management has been mostly on point and very helpful but Ive been there for 5 years and the rent is still going up every year. Ive recently found a house in the neighborhood so I will be moving out. So many good memories there. Good neighborhood and mostly real peaceful. A little part of my memories will always be about these apartments and people. Im glad I didnt move far.
Carpet is terrible quality. The apartments need updated-remodeled; new doors, new windows. Not enough natural light.
These apartments are actual TRASH. How are you going to charge 600+ for a single bedroom, 800+ for a two bedroom when the apartments are literally falling apart??? Black mold growing in the cracks of the walls that were there previously, sinks keep clogging and breaking. The carpet is TERRIBLE quality. Not to mention their maintenance staff does not respond quickly to problems, or even at all!! Even the water pipes burst within a week of moving in and they drilled a hole in the wall only to leave it like that for WEEKS. Do NOT reccomend living here. If I could give zero stars I would.
Our carpet was damaged when we moved in. They said they would fix it or replace it. Neither happened. They turned us into collections when our lease was up for the carpeting. We had our apartment professionally cleaned upon move out and the carpet was steam cleaned. It was cleaner when we left than when we moved in and we have photos to prove it. I plan on contacting an attorney immediately. It seems we are not they only ones turned into collections for “CARPET” charges. The office staff was extremely unhelpful. Update: If your possibly interested in this facility please look elsewhere, this place is a legitimate scam. The number of false charges added to individuals bills is staggering....
These Apartments are great! I feel like there are not enough new comments to show how fantastic they are. They recently went under new management and are really turning the whole place around. Apartments are being updated and look great! All new windows! Maintenance guys are all great and get whatever you need done that day! They are a great price and spacious! I have had no problems yet! I highly recommend these apartments! Neighbors are all great!
Don’t get deceived by the scammers. They will make you pay for their mistakes. Apartments are old, dirty.
I have been living here for 4 months now. My spot is quiet and anytime Ive had a problem the office is on it. I called this morning about a few issues, maintenance was at my door and both issues fixed within a hour after the call. Every time I speak to the office they are always friendly and quick to help you. My surroundings and neighbors are quiet and friendly. I would recommend here to anyone especially if you are just beginning and need a reasonable place to live.
This is absolutely terrible. I would not recommend living here, at all. It’s over priced for the quality apartment, the late fees are ridiculous, and the worst part are the neighbors. My fiancée and I are constantly woken up at 1-3 am with loud music from our upstairs neighbors, not to mention the fact that we smell marijuana constantly. No matter how many security complaints we make, the noise does not stop. We can’t use our bedroom because they are too loud. I am not paying for a one bedroom apartment, just to have to sleep in the living room.I don’t feel safe being here as at 3 am when we first moved here I received banging on my door. Not recommend. Only good thing is the staff and the convenient location.
If youre in a last minute situation and need somewhere to live. This place is great. If you expect a happy experience with the staff or your neighbors. You need to look elsewhere. They over charge on their rates as well. 600 for a one bedroom. Not worth the investment.
Ive been here 3 months and from reading the reviews it seems if I didnt live in an updated model I would hate it. I dont know where one of the previous commentators is hearing gun shots. That was forced.. However the walls ARE thin and its so annoying. My biggest issue is the price is crazy. Im paying 619 for a ONE bedroom.. only because I have a dishwasher. Also 40 extra for washer and dryer.. so 659 altogether.. It was a last minute choice. Also the apartment really isnt worth that much. Its nice and its cozy but remodeling isnt worth that price spike. If youre not making super decent money to afford the update, and dont want to live in the old outdated units then it isnt for you.. I could have a 3 bedroom house for this.. Plus parking sucks and tthe they havent touched the outside of the apartments.. my balcony is literally falling apart.. Not to mention other minor things that need fixed. I feel like the place should be perfect for the price.
So lived here 8 months, had little to no problem with the actual apartment. But the stove store stopped working and the toilet got clogged to which I couldnt undo, and still been waiting weeks on maintenance to come out. Also had to call cops several times because of the neighbors wont shut up to let me sleep
Overall not an awful place to live, but the problems happened when we moved out. They said the carpet was damaged and needed replaced (it could have used a steam cleaning, but it wasnt damaged at all) and tried to charge us $400 for it. We called and asked for photographs because we thought the carpet wasnt damaged. They said theyd send proof, and then instead of doing that, they sent a collection agency after us. Weve been arguing with them and the collection agency for 8 months and they still cant/wont provide any proof that the carpet was damaged but want us to pay anyway. Not a bad place to live, but moving out isnt worth it!
DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! Especially if you have pets this place is a scam. Make sure you take pictures before and after ! They will try to find any little thing to over charge people rarely leave with their deposits. You won’t be able to check the carpet pads when you move in they will tell you stains that were there previously where from you and charge you 800+ to recarpet apartments . Nice maintenance staff but our apartments had many issues when we moved in and non of them were taken care of even when we turned in check list I will be complaining to the Better business bureauI know they will provide a number to call in response to this review don’t waste your time you will still have to pay the ridiculous overcharge
I have lived in a 1 bedroom here and currently stay in a 2 bedroom. The office has been helpful and maintenance has responded quickly to all of my issues. Any problems have been resolved in a timely manner. Rent is very reasonable and is the main reason I have stayed here so long. My neighbors are kind and, luckily, not overly loud. I have seen fights and arguments outside of other buildings, but they have been handled by apartment security or police. The main reason I am leaving a 5 star review is due to Melinda from the office. She went above and beyond to accomdate me with information to help me find a new place that will fit my needs. She was friendly and gave me information quickly.
I love this place! I have lived here 14 months and in that short time there have been numerous upgrades and renovations, just to many to list! If your looking for a safe, affordable, apartment style home on Fort Waynes north side, then you should call The Summit At Ridgewood your new home!!
The staff is extremely unhelpful and they always make mistakes. They have messed up my rent payments on multiple occasions. Saying I overpaid/underpaid when I had talked to a previous staff member for an exact amount and was told a different amount. Not to mention the fact they come in my apartment at least once a month for pest control inspection. What it really amounts to is having to wait around in your apartment all day waiting on staff to show up so you can cage your animals. Then they spend 10 mins looking around and say Okay your apartments clean! Bye!. Not even doing any pest control treatment. Major inconvenience for those who work a full time job. Have never had apartment staff in my living quarters this much staying ANYWHERE.
I called the day before to set up a time to get a tour for the apartments. Took off work to get the tour. When I got there, no one was in the office. The sign on the door said they would be back at 2:30. Ive called many times with no answer. The management here must be a joke.
Service is terrible, they never answer the phone, wasp in my apartment. Never again
We have lived here for 5 months. It is overall a pleasant place to live. Leasing office is friendly (Melinda). Maintenance is on point.
New ownership doesnt help when its the office staff that needs gone. They refuse to hire residents regardless of how well qualified they may be, hidden monthly fees in regards to water, dishwashers, washers, and dryers ($20 for water, $20 for washer/dryer hookups, $10-$20 for dishwasher) massive misinformation has led to legal fees, lost jobs, and jail time for myself and wife. Cant afford the $2000 termination fee or we wouldve been gone already and honestly cant wait to leave this place.
I DO NOT recommend moving into these apartments. Here are the reasons: 1. The first week my fiance and I moved in, my license plates got STOLEN. 2. My fiance would get little to no sleep at night because we would constantly hear gunshots at night. 3. MOLD EVERYWHERE. 4. The a/c unit in our apartment smelled so BAD, even after calling multiple times all they would say is wash your filter and EVEN AFTER washing the filter multiple times the a/c would still stink!!! 5. No fan in the bathroom so you would have to open the window RIGHT NEXT TO YOUR SHOWER (I dont know about anyone else but I do not like being watched while I take a shower). 6. The closet doors would constantly fall out of their brackets. 7. Really thin walls. 8. Our porch would constantly flood every time it would rain causing the mulch to go everywhere. 9. Unorganized staff and BAD service!!! The list really goes on... Lets just say my fiance and I are HAPPY to be out of there.
Just got a call today (11/6/18). We (my wife, daughter and I) lived there from 6/26/17 - technically 10/26/18 we left in September but paid our rent to avoid any extra bs. But they are charging us $399.84 for carpet repair. For a stain they couldnt get out. Didnt call us to let us know or send anything in the mail. Only reason I knew about it was because some collection agency called. So I asked ridgewood for pictures and they said the collection agency has them, I called the collection agency and they said they dont have pictures. But little do they know I have pictures of everything. Ill post updates.Update 1/9/19. I called them the other day and the lady sent me pictures through my email. They were of a boot and stain on a carpet with a picture of the wrong building number...
It was fine living there, it occasionally got loud. The issue is once you move out. I switched apartments once and moved out of that second apartment a year later. ( 2 apts, 2 years) Both times we were charged fees ranging from 100-400 that were nothing, but scam. They couldnt legimately explain them and they send it to collections before we could even dispute it. 2 weeks after getting the bill it was in collections.
Great place to live!
Charged me 600 dollars for carpet and a mirror when I moved out ... not only that but they took my deposit as well and wouldn’t let me use it towards my final bill for the carpet and mirror that I left on the wall... everyone I’ve spoken to in the office over the year I’ve lived there has been completely unhelpful you always have to wait to talk to their boss to get anything resolved ... Apartments are ancient and small you can’t use their heat without it costing 400 dollars a month in electric . Don’t move here . Your welcome.
These apartments are fine im from Fla and Ive lived here for a year and have heard NO gunshots..These people with negative comments are crazy or have to high of expectations. This place is in ideal location with decent rates. Ive lived in much bigger cities and you cant beat these prices for the placement.
Glad I didnt move to this ghetto complex. Someone was shot and killed Easter weekend. P.S. They refunded my non-refundable funds and I am filling a complaint with the attorney general for illegal rental practices.
This place was not that bad when we first moved in as it was owned by someone else. It was actually kind of a nice location so I was optimistic when moving in.. The new owners, Morgan Communities, are very rude and terrible at managing their records. I was served several eviction notices only to go into the office and be told that it was a mistake. I always paid the full amount of rent several days before the due date. There would be construction at all hours and no notice would be given. My boyfriend was nearly hit by falling roof tiles with no warning! I had to make several attempts of putting in a work order before someone would finally come. There are ambulances and police vehicles at all hours of the night and the walls are so thin, you can hear everything in the apartments next door. I did little to no damage to the apartment and about a month after moving out received a notice that there was over $700 worth of damages, without any sort of list or proof, or even a method of contact. Just an address to send the check! Do NOT move here.
Stay away from these apartments! They will overcharge you for damages when you move out and then send it to collections. I will be making a complaint to the Better Business Bureau.
Worst experience. And it haunts you even after you leave. The office staff will consistently lose important documents, we had to give our 60 day notice to move out three times! Be sure you have documentation on anything you give them. And then when you do move out and there is no furniture in the apartment theyll claim to not be able to tell you the charge for damages because there is still furniture in the apartment? Then you have the neighbors... drug dealer on one side, under age drinkers and thieves on the other, and lets not forget the human trafficking three units down (the cops did a raid while we were there). Does any of this matter to the staff when you say something? No.Only positive thing I can say about this place is that it is conveniently located.
These comments here with the low star ratings are during the time when a previous owner of the Apartment complex went into bankruptcy and were basically not taking care of the property or protecting it. However, another company took over and had renovate various things (about a year or two back) and then also put security patrolling the neighborhood, which brought it back to a good state.. Then, that company sold to another company maybe a year or less ago.. This company seems to be running it pretty good so far..Would say it is a decent place to live.. Decent location right off Coliseum Blvd. Neighbors seem to be OK. I live in a townhouse, so dont have anyone above or below me. There are various designs of apartments here, some of which dont allow for someone above you.
My husband and I love living here omust a year in August close to everything even my work
Office staffs didnt treat me fairly.
The rent i paid for my sister was 588.93 for march and then for april it went up to 688.93. Makes no sense. They just seem to make up their own price
The gift that keeps on giving. After we moved out we got an email that we had furniture in the apartment when we turned in our keys so they couldnt do a true move out inspection. We had moved all our stuff out 2 weeks prior. All that we had left was their fire extinguisher and the appliances. I suggest you record all interaction with the staff, it will save you time and money down the road.
They overcharge you once you vacate your apartment. I changed 3 apartments in the same community as I am used to it compared to canterbury as most of my friends live there. I have seen many comments that they are finding disturbances lately. I found no disturbance. So i gave 1 star for that and thats it. Staff is NOT helpful at all. They got all new staff i dont know why, old staff was much better compared to new ones( old ones are irritating and not much helpful too). They respond to you by your dressing. Yes, you can see by the way they talk to u. I have observed this past 2 years. DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT GETTING YOUR DEPOSIT BACK. Yes, you wont get your deposit back and you will definitely pay extra $500- $1000, you are lucky if you have rental insurance and it clears you half of it. But still you have to pay extra after you leave. I TRIED USING GYM WHEN STAFF IS PRESENT, its akward to say this, they laugh and joke about you. I stopped going to gym.
As I was about to move in they attempted to raise my rent by over 150$. The shower water goes from boiling flesh to ice cold never constant. Ive been here less than 2 months and regret moving in.
I called matenace about a rip in my rig they said that.it was because of the pets potting on the floor and if gets any worse I would have to pay. I didnt call about cleaning the rug, I just want rip fixed. This place is dump they show you photos of how nice it looks, thats mainly around the office or in it. Dont move hereOK
Great Location, good prices for living in the Northside pools, fitness, club house, business center, and park.
Just moved in and we love the place. But they tell you that you can get frontier internet when its really not available in the area. So Im basically forced to pay the high price for xfinity.
I would never refer knownine to these apartment complex. I forgot my toilet rack in the bathroom . When I move out and there think there change me for new one. And I do not know how many time I want to the office tell them something was wrong amd if there can fix .and my down stairs neighbor, would follow you in the dark time and go upstairs to your apartment. And. the office said we can not do anything about
This was my first apartment. I never had any complaints except when the Johnny Appleseed festival started lbvs. They cracked down on it my last year there by towing everyones car if they didnt have permission slips in the windows. Maintenance is in and out...Roger knows everything and is the kindest gentleman you can meet. The office staff when I started was the A-Team, but theres some new ones that are good that would have made that team as well. Thanks Binny and Big Meg!!!!
My greatest advice I could offer is I hope you never lose Melinda as part of your staff . I would say I am rather patient and forgiving for most delays, but when it involves collections and affecting my credit you could imagine why a person would be upset. I left the summit March 6th, I called several times to inquire on how I would go about making a claim on my insurance for any damages to the apartment, no one I talked to seemed to have a clue (that’s fine, I understand your two different businesses). I made a claim not even a week after I moved out, and let me tell you to my astonishment, the invoice was never sent until 10:30 am this morning nearly 2 weeks later. I am receiving calls from collections, and I’m being harassed for nearly 2 weeks for the lack of responsibility and communication in the leasing office . I had previously gone to the office a week before this entire mess to pay my remaining balance of $50, and I found it quite odd that Melissa could take my payment and provide me a receipt but the “Manager” couldn’t. I waited for 2 hours for the “manager” to inform me I needed to send my payment to an address out of state. 2 HOURS. Now not only was I waiting for 2 hours, but I was also assisting and translating for a couple that the “manager” couldn’t communicate with . The manager even had me walk into the office with her to interpret while still not addressing my issue . So, the fact that I was helping this woman still didn’t give her even a glimpse of the audacity maybe she could help me, so I could be on my way. I spoke to Melinda this morning, she was responsive and clear . I hope the entire staff takes a lesson from her . If I could rate zero stars I would . I will never offer the summit my business again .
Hate that parking isn’t monitored as it should
I have found multiple places with mold in my apartment. I have noisy neighbor and have complained at least 5 times. The office employees to not care, though there ARE set quiet hours. There is dog poop everywhere because nobody picks up after their dogs. I dont feel safe because the windows are so old. They told me that I would get a renovated apartment, and I got one with broken doors, no dishwasher (as promised) and the oldest stove I have ever seen. I cannot wait to get out of here as soon as my lease expires.
Weve lived here for over a year now and were here for the transition from the old to the new management. They are slowly going through and updating carpets, windows, and sidewalks as people move in and out. The linoleum in our kitchen, entrance, and bathroom is a very nice dark brown fake stone, my only complaint about it is that I can never tell where my dustpan pile is. :) Our carpet is neutral beige (which they are keeping the same for updates) but it needs to be replaced desperately. The service people respond quickly and are friendly. Weve had a part on our toilet updated and some mold removed. The community is friendly and our neighbors are courteous. When we signed a lease it was for a different apartment than the one that became available. However, the apartment we live in now is farther from the main hub and closer to stores and a vacant field. So I like that its more quiet. The appliances are newer and work well.Weve had some frustration with the outside company that keeps up the communal washers/dryers. Ive had to submit quite a few service requests and many Ive had to submit multiple times. (One of the dryers has been broken and has needed replacement for 8 months). For us, as non-smokers, it has been somewhat frustrating to be surrounded by people who smoke on their porches, but such is apartment life. I have received lease violations (so they do enforce rules, which is great for most of the time) and there are no secure bike racks outside, so our only option is to store our mountain bikes indoors. And no laundry hanging outside (even if a dryer is broken). The buildings are getting old and probably need new insulation or something because there are seasonal issues with mold growing (particularly in the winter on the outer walls of the apartment buildings where there is condensation). Im nearly positive that the tile in the tub/shower has been re-grouted unsuccessfully and it wouldnt surprise me if there was mold in the wall behind the tub as I dont think the tile has been redone since the invention of cement board and membrane stuff that is used now. Im not sure what the bathroom sink is made out of, but I believe it needs to be replaced. The paint/enamel is peeling off of it and it is rusting. It drives me nuts that it never looks like Ive cleaned it. Im not sure what kind of painting company the new managers use, but hopefully its not the same people that painted our apartment last. The paint was so thick and sloppy there were hairs stuck in it and they painted some of the cupboards and the electrical panel shut (which is unlabeled, so you cant change the water heater temps btw). The hinges all have several layers of paint on them which looks ridiculous as, of course, none of the paint is staying there. Some (actually a lot) of the floor joists are old and creaky. When we moved in it was actually scaring the 2 year old that lived below us because he thought we were monsters. The weather stripping in the front door is completely worn through (you can see daylight through the crack) and somehow my service request last winter got lost (I possibly sent it to the old management or called the wrong people). There is a mud pit in front of our building where irresponsible residents have driven through the grass and killed it. This combined with the brick facing are ideal for the friendly mud daubers that buzz around and have to be knocked down every winter from around our doorway. There are two pools but one has been out of commission for both the summers weve been here. The playground doesnt look particularly safe/clean (its in a low, muddy area), but we are really close to Johnny Appleseed park. All in all, these apartments are a very fair price and are conveniently located near the Coliseum (basically you get free parking if you walk), IPFW, grocery stores, and the mall. We are able to do most of our grocery shopping via bike or walking and we feel safe in the area thanks to the busy shopping areas nearby and the dogs in the apartments near us. I havent noticed any theft or vandalism.
This place is literally the WORST place to rent from in Fort Wayne. I have lived here for a year now and have recieved nothing but attitude and disrespect from the leasing office. Not only are they charging us over $500 for a bedbug treatment that was unnecessary, they knocked on my door demanding my keys back a week early. The staff is ALWAY rude and they act like helping their residence is an inconvenience. The property manager is THE WORST OF THEM ALL. DO NOT RWNT HERE. I HOPE THEY GO OUT OF BUSINESS. Also, theyre so cheao they cant even afford to put frames on any of the doors in ANY of the units. Its honestly sad how terrible this place is. DO NOT RENT HERE!
Please do not move here. These apartments are truly terrible in everyway possible. This apartment complex is a absolute disgrace. Number one the tenants are trashy and ghetto and rude. I am not from this city so I picked this apartment only because it is located near my job. When I moved in I had a aggressive mean neighbor who would play loud music all day and night and do drugs; the complex would not let me get out of my lease all they did was allow me to move into another apartment within their complex. I have been in this apartment since April, everything is falling apart, the parking is horrible, the walls are so thin it is ridiculous, the apartment is overpriced and to add insult to injury I am told that in order to take my new job out of state I have to pay 2000 dollars and the rent until April! It makes no sense to me why I would need to pay rent if I am no longer living here and I am paying a fee to break my lease. This place is a sham. I specifically asked the staff if this place was a ok place for me and my baby and they assured me they would live here. All lies. I feel like I live in section eight housing with a bunch of bums and college students. I will be contacting corporate about their policy on the lease agreement because I refuse to have my credit be affected negatively because I need to move for a better job opportunity. Sorry for all my run on sentences lol but I didnt have the time to write a well punctuated rant.
Update 2019: 5 star to 1 star review. After the Easter shooting, I wanted to stay and give this place another chance. It wasnt their fault and I still like the place. However, I should have left like everyone else in my building did. First it was the weed that was leaking into my townhouse from another townhouse, that I complained after. When I called the office they literally told me, Well, since you dont know which apartment its coming from we cant really do anything. If you think someone is doing something illegal you should call the police. Uh... Kay. You could send a note about smells and how they leak into apartments. Then it was the group of kids that moved into the apartment building next to my townhouse building. That I called in to complain about the car that would park outside with their bassy music blasting at 1am in the morning. That was never actually resolved until I went and knocked on the car window in THE Morning to get them to turn it down. Oh and I cant forget to mention the screaming matches with those kids that would happen too. Honestly, I did not feel safe there anymore.I want to warn everyone, like everyone else on here. If you live here and have pets, be ready to pay about $1000 for them to unnecessarily replace the carpet and pro-rated rent that is end of lease, not end of returned keys. They are charging me a late fee for pro-rated rent to the END OF my lease (April 6th) after I asked and was told I WOULD not be charged a late fee, because I was returning my key on the 2nd. Im also being charge a water and trash fee when I returned my key on the 2nd of April. Its not MY FAULT that because of the weed leaking into my apartment it caused one of my cats to get sick constantly. Also, all the carpet needed was a good clean, since I ALWAYS cleaned those puke spots and they were not bad at all. Which they were perfectly aware of when I called to complain about the weed leaking into my place.Oh also, btw I rarely saw security at night after the shooting. Only saw them a handful of times after the music complaint. And once they stopped showing up again, of course the music was back. So, yeah. Prewarning, the low prices are there for reason. Just stay away and go to some place that deserves your money.---------------------------I ADORE living here. I just moved into a townhouse from an apartment. I plan to stay here as long as possible. I dont know what gunshots are being mentioned, but Ive heard nothing of the sort and Ive been here a little over a year now. They have a 24/7 security that you can call if your hear, see or get in trouble. (I once threw my keys away with my garbage on accident at 12am and one of the security guys stopped and helped me get them out.) Maintenance is very friendly and helpful. Staff in the office is just as friendly and I always feel very welcomed when I go in.The rates are reasonable and low for the space and location. Ive done my research on all apartment complexes in the area and they always STAY on the low side of rates. You really cant get a better deal. I have a unremodeled townhouse and Im very happy with it.I only wish their pool was open at night so I could swim after work, but I understand safety reasons. 😄
I have lived here for almost a year and I cannot wait to move out. My neighbors play extremely loud music at all hours of the day and night, they have parties almost every night, and since I share a balcony with them I always have empty beer bottles and cigarettes right out side my door. Also, they make my apartment smell like weed every day and yesterday, we saw one of them sitting outside with a needle in his arm. We have had to call the police on them several times but of course nothing has been done about it. Other than my terrible neighbors, the insulation is terrible and water was leaking in all winter long..we called maintenance but they didnt do anything about it. Also, there is mildew in the closets. The absolute only good things about this apartment are its convenient location and its cheap. Just like with all things, you get what you pay for.
I would not recommend the Summit at Ridgewood.
Charged 300 dollars for garbage bags left when I moved, can’t even verify my address for employment reasons ! Place is not organized and not a very warm place to live .
I have lived here for 1 year and i love it, no problems at all.
Nice place
Average
I just bought a new car the security office gave me a ticket and told me they are going to tow it within 72 hours and the BMV is closed on Mondays.
Its nice and secured.
Would leave a zero if it would let me.
Im just waiting for the day I get struck by a golf cart trying to step out of my apartment.
Excellent to live
