If you are considering Gulf Coast Restoration Services for any work in your home or place of business I can not stress enough that hiring this company will be a disastrous decision.I had experienced a leak in my shower that require the entire shower to be torn out and rebuilt. Working through my insurance company GCR was the vendor they referred me to.I met with a representative of GCR in February 2019. He came to look at the shower and became my main contact for the project. Over the next 9 months, yes 9 months GCR tried to put in a new shower. The incompetence of this organization in trying to get proper permitting done, handling subcontractor workmanship and overall organization of work scheduling is evident in that they were never able to finish the project. In October a decision had to be made to start all over and hire a new company for the shower redo.Try to picture the Three Stooges or Laurel & Hardy handling a construction job and it will give you a sense of Gulf Coast Restoration. This is not an exaggeration. My recommendation is to do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. “Caveat Emptor”.

I hired GCRC to restore my house after a water leak. The quality of their work was very low. After they estimated and started the job they told me that they could not get base molding to match my existing molding for six weeks, all but forcing me to use a cheap grade. Then they cut the baseboard trim so sloppy the some of the gaps were 1/4 or more. When I asked them to fix it they just caulked them. Now the caulk has shrunk and they look terrible. Painting was done so poorly that I told them to stop because the rooms looked better BEFORE they painted them. I made the mistake of paying them before the tile and grout work was complete and after that I never saw them again. Fortunately the insurance company let me finish the work with somebody else.

If you have a home owners insurance claim and are looking for a company to walk you through the approval & construction process step by step w/ patience and empathy in a timely matter, Gulf Coast Restoration is NOT the place. In our experience they were everything but this. Unclear communication created anxiety about the process as well as a lack of professionalism/compassion to move things forward in a timely matter. 3 mo after ripping up our floor we were advised by Gulf Coast that they did not have a cabinet supplier that could meet our needs and therefore they were backing out of the project. When questioned about this decision and other options the project manager acted agitated and rude... making comments like “I don’t have time to discuss this any further...”. A follow up call to one of Gulf Coast’s partners was no better... “We just don’t think we’re a good fit for this project... I have advised your insurance company to just cut you a check.” WHAT? How does this help someone who found themselves in an unplanned kitchen project due to water damage 3 mo after the fact? These guys are in the wrong business and as a result have one less insurance company referring clients to them. It’s no wonder they aren’t on social media.

They took over six months and still did not complete the job yet want to be paid in full and told me to hire somebody else to finish it. They also brought the wrong cabinets 3X, cut water lines before they turn the water off, “Accidentally” turned on the outside solar system without opening of the valves, they ran over the sprinkler heads and broke those outside, cut their drywall on top of my couches they placed in the garage. The owner pretty much said he doesn’t care, just don’t forget to send your final payment.
