My dog, Bear, is my Schipperke rescue dog. I adopted him when my folks passed away a few years ago. He is 15 1/2 and full of love and needs to be near me a lot which I adore. When I take him to Tails-A-Waggin for boarding, when I travel, he can’t wait to go inside to spend quality time with his human and furry friends ! The attention and care for he needs is met and he rarely looks back at me when he runs inside to play. He and I love this place for his medical and emotional care. I recommend them for anyone who loves their pet(s).

The staff I dealt with were exceptional. Hailey was extremely accomidating in getting my dog in for a surgical evaluation. Jill and Sally were both friendly and professional and show pride in their work. Dr Baez was amazing/thurough...he explained the different surgical options/ details of procedures, risks/benefits, expected recovery, etc. for my dogs cranial cruciate ligament tear. My dog is scheduled for his surgery today. I have no doubt that my fur baby will be well taken care of

We asked a friend back in October for a veterinarian recommendation and she suggested Tails-A-Waggin. Bailey, our 12 year old Miniature Pinscher, has been battling a chroni liver and gallbladder problem the past year. We took her to see Dr. Mercado in November. Dr. Mercado is wonderful! She is a very knowledgeable and carrying veterinarian. She spends as much time as necessary talking with your about the options for care. Recently, Bailey got sick overnight and the staff worked with us in the next morning so Dr. Mercado could see her right away. The technicians and staff are also very friendly and helpful. I would hihgly recommend Dr. Mercado and her team to care for your pet.

We had our 1.5 year old golden doodle at Tails-A-Waggin twice while visiting the Fort Myers area. I kept wondering why she had so much energy after she came home from her visits. We learned that they were keeping her in a 3’ x 5’ enclosure for much of the day, letting her out to play with other dogs several times. Unfortunately this was quite a surprise to us as we were not allowed to see the inside of the facility (maybe due to covid) and there were no cameras that we could use to see our dog playing. Every dog daycare we’ve used (even since covid) has allowed tours and provided cameras to view your dog remotely. Also the pictures on their website do not show the enclosures where they can spend much of their time. I would suggest avoiding this place if the intent of your dog daycare is social interaction and play time for your dog. We will be using other dog daycares in the area for our dog in the future.

If you have a sick pet, do not bring them to this veterinary office. I brought one pet in and had to wait over a week for an ultrasound to be done; wound up having to bring him to the emergency vet first. Made the mistake of bringing another pet to them for bloodwork; they botched the first blood samples so had to bring him in again for more blood to be drawn, was told results would be 1-2 days; all told it was a week before I knew what was going in and only after I called them several times to get the results. Lost a weeks time getting him the help he needed. They need to have a sign posted on their front door that they cannot handle sick pets.

His approach made it much easier to make those decision that scramble your brain when you are hearing the devastating news. Lucy had surgery with Dr Baez at the Veterinary Emergency Referral Hospital in Estero. He and the staff at the facility kept Lucy well cared for. Lucy is now 13 going very strong and back to her old loving self. We are sooo happy we made the decision to go with Dr Baez. We had 100% trust in his experience and it paid off. Tails-A-Waggin is an amazingly talented and ethical animal hospital that has shown such compassion, intellect, warm care toward our diabetic aged dog. They, led by their talented Vet Dr. Alexandra Mercado, most recently performed dental surgery on our beloved family member of 12 years, and removed a very large mass from the roof of his mouth. Thanks to the skills of their medical team, our dogs recovery has been very swift and the prognosis for his future is bright. During our 50 years of dealing with veterinary hospitals, this organization ranks at the very top in our humble opinion.Little more need be said.

We have been with Tails-A-Waggin since 1991, when it was founded by Dr. Mogavero. We are SO GRATEFUL that Dr. Mercado took this practice over and has continued in the same philosophy of animal welfare. Beau and Yogi actually LIKE going to the vet, the doctors and staff are very caring and make the entire experience as stress free as possible, they are attentive to both the pet and the owner, they truly LOVE animals, and Beau and Yogi feel that, and are not fearful going there, and we feel the care and service here for ALL of us is superb. We are visitors from Maine and brought out dog in for an inoculation so that he could be boarded there for a weekend in the future. The staff was efficient, immediate, and thorough. My dog has never been boarded other than in the breeders kennel where he was born. I was understandably concerned about kenneling him elsewhere. I received a tour of an immaculate facility with no odor at all with happy and content dogs. My tour guide even chose a room for my shy Lab. I now have no hesitation in bringing my dog to this facility. Since I am a horribly over-protective Mom I would highly recommend Tails-a-Waggin to anyone who cares deeply for their pet.

I started taking my dog to Tails in 2013 and my husband and I loved taking her here because of the friendly staff and the Dr. was excellent with our Delilah. Unfortunately the vet passed away and we were so sorry to hear of this. We made an appointment for Delilah after his passing which was when we then realized the new owner has become money hungry. They state that they require vaccines every 6 months which in fact are required every year. About two months ago I dropped my dog off for a bath and to get blood work and stated I would pick her up after I got out of work which is what I would normally do when dropping her off. When I arrived to pick her up the man behind the desk stated that they were just starting her blood work after I got there. I couldnt understand what they were doing from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM with my dog. A few weeks ago I wanted to drop her off again for a bath and they refused to make an appointment for her because she was supposedly not up to date on her Bordetella which in fact is due every year not every 6 months. I also noticed that after the vet passed away the staff became rude in person and on the phone. If you are unhappy with your job and its environment then you should step aside and give it to someone who will be more then grateful to do the work and make the money. This is a business to take care of pets the right way and not just worrying about what you are going to charge for the services. We recently switched vets and have brought our Delilah to Indian Creek on Summerlin and they are much more proficient, and friendly.

Recently boarded our 11 year old shepard mix there for 5 days during the Christmas holiday while we traveled. He also received a full grooming, which we thought looked great. Upon picking our dog up, we noticed that he had eaten very little of the food we provided for him, which was unusual. This behavior continued when we got home, even with treats and rewards. Upon further inspection of his coat, we found traces of flea activity - of which he contracted at some point during being boarded. In occurances before when he got fleas, he ate very little and became very sluggish, so the behaviors matched. What makes me even more concerned is if he contracted the fleas while being boarded, did the groomer notice them? Or did he contract the fleas while being groomed? Questions to consider when deciding to board your dog here. And we paid for one of the more expensive kennels too.

Dr. Mogavero is fantastic! One of our dogs has a skin condition that had been diagnosed when she was a puppy and we were living in Miami. Unfortunately, no other vet was able to spot on fix her problem (after leaving her original doctor in Miami and moving here) For several years while in Ft. Myers, her skin flareups became worse, and doctor after doctor here could not seem to help. Finally we found Dr. Mogavero. He took one look at her and knew instantly what was wrong. He gave her a cortisone shot and prescribed her to high grade (expensive but worth it) Fish Oil.The dog was in immediate relief, and her skin condition is cured. BTW, he also diagnosed her as allergic to flea medications, which even original vet did not find.We have more than pleased with this worthy doctor of animal medicine. His clinic is state of the art, and many animal issues that other doctors are not set up to help with, can all be done at Tails A Waggin. Cancers are just one I know he works with.I highly recommend this Animal hospital.
