Whoever wrote good reviews about this place is probably their own people. I had the worst experience with this car rental company and would not recommend to anybody who is under 25. Just because I am 21 they thought they can take advantage of the fact that I am young and tried to triple the amount for me to rent a car from them for just three days. Then, once I threatened to go to a different rental place they magically were able to lower the price significantly. That is extremely sly and unprofessional to be dishonest to a customer whether you are 21 or 50 years old they should treat everyone equally. I understand it is expensive anywhere you go to rent a car especially when you are under the age of 21, but definitely not the price they were trying to charge me for just THREE days. I felt offended that they thought I was stupid enough to pay that amount. On top of that, I ended up with a vehicle that was new it definitely did look in good condition it wasnt old and beat up the drive was smooth but the breaks did not feel so new. They werent the worst breaks but for the amount i spent i would expect a new car to have excellent breaks. On top of that they convince you to buy a sun pass (WHICH YOU DO NOT NEED) and they tell you tolls in Florida do not accept cash (because they know you are not from there) in which they charge you their own fee on top the amount the toll is so you are paying once again, double the amount you originally are supposed to pay. Then, there was some type of miscommunication where I told him I would return the car at 5:30 pm and he agreed and when the day comes for me to return the car he put I was returning the car at 4:30pm instead of 5:30pm and they wanted to charge me for a whole day. I completely felt fed up at this point and I would NEVER return to this company again.

Best rental car experience I have ever had. Getting the car was easy, I was not pushed to upgrade, great prices. Everybody was very helpful and kindly, did everything to please me. From the time I entered the establishment everyone met me with a smile. They also had plenty of vehicles to choose from. All in all very nice shape. Definitely renting back from them next time I go back to Miami.

Have used Sunshine for years. Always liked the friendly and courteous help and smiling faces but there are some issues. Do not like the regulation of not allowing anyone else to drive my rental car especially my husband. The rates seem to fluctuate according to the season, even though I rented every other month for over 8 years. Hate that the cheapest rates are only from the internet. But the latest change, not being able to use my own transponder for the toll roads. You expect me to pay $2/day for your transponder when I know you can buy one for $5, and then pay my tolls. I do not use the toll roads much but to go to Miami you have to. With this change you are punishing those of us who are good loyal customers in favor of a few bad. I have spoken to others who used to rent from you but will no longer due to this policy change. It is so grossly unfair to charge me an extra $14 for a week when I do not need your transponder but maybe for a day or two. Some friends of mine rented for a month and you were going to charge them $60!!! There has to be a better way, but if you do not see it that way I am sorry to say you have seen the last of my and my dependable business.

The best rate you are going to find on a rental car in South Florida!! Service is excellent. Shuttle picks you up at the airport and takes you to the rental agency. Super fast and friendly on check in and out. I highly recommend to go offsite form the airport for your rental car needs. Saves you money and you still get a great car with top notch service.

Service was excellent. There prices were very good and their cars were modern and well kept. Very accommodating staff. Will definitely rent again from them. And you should too!!

Excellent car rental company in the Ft Laudardale areaPrices were cheap compared to the big rental companies, cars were in good condition and the prompt and attentive service is the best!On the day that I dropped off the rental car I left my cell phone in the shuttle airport by mistake and when I realized this called them immediately and they were able to find it.... then 2 days later I had my cell phone back home! Will definitely rent with them again when I go back to South FL!

Worst car rental experience in my life!!!Reserved a car with 2 car seats 2 weeks ahead. Emailed and called them to confirm the reservation (because we have 2 young kids and we need 2 car seats), and the said No Problem all the time...until the morning our cruise arrived! I called them at 9AM on the ship and the guy on the phone said sorry we cant keep the car for you because you will show up at 10AM instead of 9AM, and we cant find any car seat...I had to go to the airport car rental center to find a car and that took me an extra 4 hours.They are liars. Their price might be cheaper than the big companies, but they are just liars. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company to anyone.

Sunshine got me a car when everyone was sold out. Flew into Fort Lauderdale on Friday of this Columbus weekend. The on airport companies were priced very high or just out of cars. Two of the agencies recommended I jump on the shuttle and go off airport to Sunshine. I was treated well and got a good price on a new Nissan.

The company is a scam. They claim they have really low prices but they are completely a scam. They require you to be on 3 way call with your credit card company to get the insurance coverage but they have no idea what they are doing. Juanita the rudest woman i have ever spoken to, asked the poor credit card company if they had a policy number. the credit card company does not have insurance policy number everyone knows this. but Juanita claims she does this all the time. the credit card company tried to explain it doesnt work like that but juanita interrupted her and berated her. Juanita then called me only to yell at me and call me a moron. and cancelled my reservation because she refused to let me speak and told me i wasnt going to be a good customer for her company. then she sent me a rude email claiming she cancelled the reservation because i as somehow rude to her. Juanita who claims to be the owner when i asked to speak to her supervisor so i was just stuck with her (her exact words) Florida rent a car is a scam.

I have booked with this agency and was traveling for a vacation to Florida. I booked the car week ahead of my trip and someone from the company called me hours before boarding my flight and said cars were not available and so cancelled my reservation. I argued how can he do that but the hanged upon me and asked me to wait 3 more days if I need a car. This car company sucks. The worst service I have ever seen. Dont book the car with them. This is the first experience to me over 10 years of my experience in renting a car. If they dont have enough cars, why do they accept the reservations in the first place? Please dont book the car with them if you want to enjoy your trip with out any hurdles or it would be last minute surprises. Hope my review helps. Finally DONT BOOK CAR WITH THEM . I would not recommend to any of my friends or colleagues.

Quick and easy service. Only had a few vehicles to pick from but it all depends on when you go.. Was not the cheapest but the shuttle service and staff were pleasant.

I would HIGHLY recommend Sunshine Rent A Car to friends & family. I wish they had more locations throughout the US. When we arrived at the shuttle pick up, Ray, the shuttle driver was already waiting for us. He loaded our vehicle, welcomed us to Ft. Lauderdale and gave us an update on what the weather was going to be like. When we got to the rental location, the guys there were so quick to get us our vehicle and on our way. Very courteous and giving us directions to our destination so that we could avoid the road construction and toll roads. When we went to return the car, the guy who came out to check our car said he saw us pulling in and they already contacted the shuttle that we were there. Again, quick chekout with friendly service. Ray picked us up and got us to the airport in plenty of time to make our flight. We will be using Sunshine Rental EVERY time we are in Fort Lauderdale.

Very bad customer service! flight was delayed, i called then to let them know. the guy on the phone said ok ur car is saved for u. when i got to Florida i called to make sure m car was still their the told me that they were out of cars. so i got on the shuttle. when i got to the office the guy yelled at me and said oh so u decided to show up anyway!

Nice car, friendly service, good rate and shuttle was fast and easy. When you get to the airport rental car facility, the shuttle is easy to find right at the end of the building and the number to call is under Americas Best not Sunshine.My only complaint is the location is off airport property so getting a taxi to come to the location to take us to the pier was impossible, we finally had to flag a taxi off the side of the road (the 24th St location is a busy rd super close to the pier, we spilt the cab with another couple and it was $10). Sunshine called 2 cab companies so I cant blame them, I am just saying be aware and if your in a rush to get to the pier flag a cab down. Tip there is gas station very close to the location just east of drop off (on 24th St) if you are topping off the tank.Tip #2 they also are the facility for NU Care rental.

In less than 15 min I was in and out with a car...WOW. The only rent a car company in fort lauderale that anyone should rent their next car, truck or van from and let me tell you why...everyone should do buisness with sunshine rent a car in fort lauderdale florida.We all dread the hassles experianced at the airports and defenetly the renting of vehicles, its like buying a car. I have been renting vehicals from the top companies at the airport kiosks (by the way FT. Lauderedale aiport is awsome) to the side shops in back alleys all over the USA and in other countries... found all the same negative experiances discribed in each review posted at all of them except...from the people at Sunshine rent a car in the City of Fort Lauderdale Florida.You can say it may have been an off day, the new year festivities had past and miracles do happen. What I can say from my personal experiance is that they are a professional neighborhood mom and pop type team of friendly courteous helpful people doing their very best to establish a good name in the industryover other companies who give the rental buisness a bad name.No resonable educated person can argue that it takes patience to run a buisness dealing with government requirements, high cost of overhead, payrol, repairs and still tring to turn a profit to stay in buisness. It costs to run a buisness and thats why most companies will try to sell you your own shirt or dress if they can...but not at Sunshine.You go to these places with the idea of generaly getting &%$@? and hoping you wont, but you do anyways. This place was different...I was in and out of Sunshine with a car in less than 15 min. The entire staff was like hows it going, what can we do for you today...like I was the next door neighboor they hang out with...reminded me of the little stores that used to be on your block and the owners knew everybody in the nieborhood. It was too good to be true and I was still leary about, whats going to happen when I turn in this car (great car by the way) all this nice nice stuff...oh I am really going to get it in the end...and it was just not that way at all. I was out of there quicker than when I checked the car out.Every experance is unique in its own way and I will say that there was no pressure on this one, they did not try to sell me anything other than what I needed.My father always said, if you cant say something nice dont say anything at all...but he would also say if someone is nice and does something good...ackowledge it.Thanks Dad I am passing that on in this case...if you want to have a great day rent from Sunshine rent a car in the Sunshine state.If you are wondering...No, I dont work for them or have stock or know anyone there..just a great experiance I wanted to share.
