Very personable. Fit us into a busy schedule last minute and was able to efficiently diagnose the issue within a very reasonable amount of time. We are now able to safely drive back through Chicago to Michigan. Really saved the road trip from becoming even more of a nightmare.

On two separate occasions now we have attempted to request an appointment from their website. On both occasions I received no email or call confirming or denying the appointment.After the first attempt, I called in and made an appointment for a different day for an oil change and brake check. I left the car and requested a call when it was done. I called 5 hours late to check on the status and it was done hours ago with no notification. And what else? They didn’t even look at the brakes.

Ive had been using CarX due several years, now I will no longer go there. They tried to screw me over for the last time. We took our car in because brakes were not working, they said we needed brake pads and rotors all around, and caliper in one tire. Total of $850. Took in for second opinion, one tire needed rotor, pad and caliper. All the rest were 75% or higher remaining.

Ive had several dealings with them now and its been great Everytime! Theyre definitely a go to place and reliable.

I was told I would get my refund in two weeks and that was in April! Here we are in July and still no refund for an over charge. Also my vehicle came out worse than it went in. When calling about the refund I was talked to disrespectfully. Filed a complaint with the better business bureau. Got respond from car x saying they wanted to make it right yet still no actions taken. My family has a credit card there and go there often but after this we have not and plan on canceling the credit card. I spent about $1500 in April and this is what I get an overcharge and a car that makes noise every time I break or back up!

Not only were they able to fit in both of our cars the next week, but also were able to take care of all the issues at a decent price.

My car always took synthetic blend and they put in conventional oil in. Thinking I could drive 5000 between changes I ran that oil past it useful life. Hope I dont have to much damage. Done with this place

I contacted the Fond Du Lac Wisconsin Car-X location on 4/9/2021 approximately 8 am to have tires installed that day. I spoke with Mike the manager and he asked me what size tires I had. I told him the tire size I thought I had (215/65/16s is what I think I said), but I was unsure. He said, we have that in stock, you can drop your car off I told him I would drop it off around 10:30. The phone call ended and was short, brief, and very little effort to verify the tire size I actually had. He didnt even provide the make or model of the tire. When I arrived two hours later and told him the size I had, 205/65/16s, he went out and verified by looking at the car. He came back in, and said they dont have that size in stock. When I asked why he said they had it on the phone, he asked if that was the size I quoted, and I said I dont remember. He made a point to look in the records to tell me exactly what I quoted which was the wrong size. He looked at me and said, no sir, you said 215/65/16s which we dont have. He did say he could order the right size and schedule this later. I was completely upset and asked why he didnt verify when I called previously, to which his response was he has no idea what actual tire size is on the vehicle until they see it. I left.On my way home I was so upset at the lack of effort to accurately identify the size over the phone on the initial call, that I called and spoke with Mike again expressing my frustration that he spent very little time trying to assist me identifying the correct size. I informed him that I have spent upwards of $3,500 at that exact store over the past several years getting tires and I wont be coming there again. He apologized saying Im sorry you feel this way. He again said We have no idea what size tire is on your vehicle until you come in. I told him that is not true, because every website I have been to from Car-X to other competitors, when I type in my vehicle year, make, and model number, only 1 size, not 3, not 5, but 1 size, the size I actually have, shows up. I told him in his line of business, that is the first Go-to to determine the correct tire size for specific vehicles. He could have spent a few minutes on the phone with me, pulling up the size through the vehicle year make and model and then ask me if that is what I had. He continued to say they dont know the tire size until they see the car. This is an example of a manager that doesnt spend much time on the phone meeting customer needs. I am completely fed up with this, and my last transaction over a month ago putting new tires on my other vehicle from this store location. If the tire tool on the website does not provide the correct tire size as the Manager Mike Eluded to, then what good is it. I do believe the tire selection tool on the website does in deed show the tire size that is supposed to be on my car, which in fact it is accurate. Mike has poor customer service skills and is more concerned with showing the customer how they are wrong, than he is apologizing for HIS lack of effort. This is not a good reflection for the Car-X company. I regret giving Car-X the almost $4,000 in business over the past several years. I am completely frustrated by his candor and inability to use the available tools to assist customers. He should not be a manager if he cant use the tools available and if he is more focused on pointing out how the customers are wrong rather than apologize for him not spending the time on the phone in the first place.

Kaitlin did a great job and checked my tire pressure and set my next oil change into my trucks dash for me. She was fast professional and well educated. She even told me im missing a sensor which is why my tire light has been on. Thanks kaitlin you did a great job.

We were broke down on the expressway nearby on a holiday. They were open and when we limped in they made the time to take a look. They figured out what was wrong. And when we decided to limp the rest of the way back to Milwaukee, they did not charge us for the inspection. Really appreciate that.

My husband called and asked for a quote on tires. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable, as we are on a budget. They were accommodating to our schedule and asked politely if we would like an appointment. We did not feel pressured nor did we feel like we were being ripped off. We are back on the road running smoothly and will be bringing our car in for future work.

I scheduled an appointment and got in quick, which was great. During the initial phone conversation, and upon dropping the vehicle off, I explained that there was a pounding/knocking noise in the front right side when slightly turning right. Got a call stating that it was the steering rack and there was a bad ABS sensor that needed replacing. Quote was $740.98 to do the work. I asked if this would take care of the pounding/knocking noise in the front right wheel, seeing that was pricey and was ensured that it would so I agreed to the work. I picked up the car and no difference in the original issue I brought it in for, so I brought the car back in the next morning and received a phone call stating it was probably a bad wheel bearing and I should have both replaced for around $800.00. I was told that the noise was barely noticeable which is crazy because you can hear and feel it when turning. I picked up my vehicle and cancelled my appointment for my other vehicle. I will not be back for service at CarX again after being taken advantage of and no resolution to my problem.

Great experience. Was so lucky to be seen the day after Christmas. Due to check engine light, was found to need new spark plugs.Staff was personable, helpful and informative. My car repair was completed in a very timely manor. Was a great experience.

Good customer service, quick oil changes, and cant be beat prices

Brought car to Walmart to have tires replaced. Had no brake issues prior. When they were *done* replacing the tires, they came out and said that they couldnt torque them because we had a brake line leak.No signs of a leak before the tires were put on. After the Walmart tech assured us car was driveable and it was a small leak, went to head home. Pulling out of Walmart the brake went straight to the floor. Immediately pulled across the street to Car X where they were extremely helpful and even allowed us in the back to demonstrate that Walmart had, in their professional opinion, put the lift on the wrong section of the car and damaged the frame, blowing out the brake lines.Manager was incredibly helpful and even offered to do a statement for us. We are currently fighting a claim with Walmart and will see what happens. Wasnt able to get the repair done due to cost, but will go here for all of my needs from now on.Thank you Mike!Photos are where the damage was done by Walmart. I got this screw lodged in my tire. I called Mike and he asked me to bring the tire over to be looked at. When I got there he said it would take 45-50 minutes to be fixed. When I told him that I will be picking up my son from school, he got Brian to work on it right away. Within 25 minutes Brian got the work done and I was on my way to pick up my son on time.Thank you Mike, Brian, and the other young man. You guys were very courteous and displayed a very high level of professionalism.That was my second time at CarX, and I plan on going there again.

I was dealing with sub zero temperatures in Wisconsin weather and my car wouldn’t start. I spoke with Caitlin over the phone who helped me troubleshoot the problem and had the parts in on the same day, with a fixed vehicle. Everyone is nice and friendly at Car -X. I highly recommend.

Decent price for repair, but only if you think its worth it to drive your car off the lot with something else wrong with it. The amateurs lifted the vehicle wrong and busted a coil spring on my car. Claimed it wasnt them, but when it wasnt broken before it was sent in for work, and suddenly is broken right after...odds are they broke it. Cars can take bumps and potholes at 90 mph, to miraculously break a coil springs driving in a parking lot is 1 in 1000 and doesnt add up. Company would not admit fault, doubt they even knew the issue was there since they likely didnt test drive it.

Will definitely return for all my future repair needs fast honest and reasonable prices got in and out in the same day!

Mike over there on Rolling meadows shop was beyond fantastic, and for the holidays could not believe the speed where a few other shops in town said we might be able to look at it next week Mike had my car for two days, inspection, diagnosis, into the repair ( it was corroded internal wiring on the positive terminal leading to battery, and the battery itself among few small things );But he did that and made sure every detail I said was taken into full account. l will be returning here every time for future repairs on my cars.

EDIT:After discussion with the manager, the price was changed to promotional value. Changed from 2 to 3 star.Oil Change and Tire Rotation scheduled 1 week in advance for $19.99 promotion. Picked up car and charged $45 for use of synthetic oil. Bad communication and transparency.

Scheduled an oil change over the phone. They are not allowing anyone to stay inside during services right now which is understandable, however whoever scheduled my appointment should have told me this so I could plan for it. Also, the parking lot is TERRIBLE! It’s like they want you to wreck your car while driving through.

I have had work on my car done by Car-X a few times and every time is always very professional and prompt. Price is very reasonable and fair and the work they do is top notch and always will recommend when someone needs a place in regards for auto repairs.

They tell you one thing and it changes when you go into get it fixed. Then its something different that needs to be fixed. Need to be honest with there customers. Will not go back and will not refer them to anyone!

Couldn’t fix a nail that was in the thread of my tire and made me replace my whole tire for full price. My tires were also on a warranty and it didn’t give me a deal or replace it for cheaper. Thank you to Badger Tire and Summerfeild in Fond du Lac said they could both patch it. Will never go to Car-X again horrible service and will just rip you off. I will only go to Badger Tire and Summerfeild both have great service and I highly recommend.

We came in for an all around inspection of our vehicle. Andrew was at the front desk, he was polite and professional. Told us it would be about an hour. It was done in a hour. Andrew went over everything we needed to know about our vehicle.Again so very polite and professional. We will be returning for future services.

Had estimate on steering rack problem. Decided not to repair due to age of the car. They did not charge for inspection! Very impressed! Will be back when any other service is needed.

This just has to be the best place in Fond Du Lac for car repairs. From the minute that I arrived to the second that I left they couldnt be anymore helpful. They treat their customers like their own. Fantastic all round service. Managers Andrew and Michael were amazing. I went in expecting terrible service but came out amazed. I had my break pads replaced on my 2013 Chrysler 200 & I fully recommend that whoever reads this post go there for repairs. With oil changes at $19.99 this place is beyond fair when it comes to prices. Cant praise this place enough. Well done guys and keep up the good work.

I went into CarX Fond du Lac to get a flat tire plugged. There was no wait for the car to be taken back. It took 5-10 minutes longer than what I was told, so I wasnt charged! Repair was good. Definitely would recommend!

Car-X was wonderful from the time I called to the time I picked up my vehicle. I called at about 5pm after I got done with work and I was able to drop my vehicle off in the morning before they opened to have an alignment done. They called me a little after noon and told me I could come and pick it up. The alignment was great, service was great, and the cost was even better! I will definitely be going back! Thanks Car-X!

Dropped one of my vehicles off to have a fuel line replaced, with no appointment scheduled. Told the guy at the counter it was no rush since I own 4 vehicles. After having my vehicle for a week, I received a phone call with estimate which I was happy to pay for. Upon receiving my vehicle I noticed a new “clunking” noise coming from the right rear. I investigated the issue to find one of my shock bolts wasn’t tightened properly. Naturally I drove the car back the next morning. Told mike, the guy behind the counter, what I had discovered. To my disbelief mike said his 20 appointments that day were more important than taking 10 min to fix the work they had previously overlooked, and I would have to leave it all day for them to maybe get it in. I left and went to Pomps tire where they were more than happy to fix my vehicle immediately, free of charge. I wouldn’t recommend car x to my biggest enemy.

Wanted to get my tires checked to make sure there was nothing wrong that I wasnt aware of. I recently had my car serviced at the dealership, so was a little concerned when I was alerted that my tire had low air pressure so soon. I am not very tire savvy, so took my car to Car X for peace of mind. Im glad I did. They were super fast and very friendly! I was impressed. Scheduled oil change and tire rotation for 8 am (first appointment of the day). Was told it would take 30-45 minutes. It took 90 minutes. The person working the counter also did not wear a mask.

Beyond pleased with both of my experiences at this location. Michael, the store manager took great care of me on each of my visits to patch my tires from a nail puncturing. Even though I came in for one thing, the techs were very informative about other potential issues with my vehicle. Very fair pricing, and wait time. The addition of the comfy leather couch and chair make the wait that much more comfortable. Highly recommend getting service done here.

I had water leaking inside of my car from my AC. I called Car-X and the man on the phone was pleasant, professional and got me in right away the next day. They took my car back right away and had it fixed in under 10 minutes. The guy explained to me what the issue was and how he fixed it. In and out!! Granted it was an easy fix, I saved time and money by going here instead of the dealership. I also get my oil changed here as well. Highly recommend this place in fond du lacOnce again I was shown great and fast service in getting new tires. The manager and staff seem to really go above and beyond expectations. Would’ve potentially earned my business if I was able to get a detailed quote. The guy that picked up the phone wouldn’t even provide one unless I brought my vehicle by - to which it needs brakes. Been going here for years. Everything is always fixed correctly the FIRST time. Once they recommended that I go somewhere else thats more specialized. This proves that they truly care about your vehicle being repaired, even if it means losing money to another business. You dont really see that too often these days.

I have always taken my vehicle to a Chevy dealer but decided to give this place a try after my warranty expired and I was so impressed with not only the work but the customer service was top notch! My a/c needed repair and I knew it was going to be costly but I was offered two different options which would never have happened at a dealership. I especially like that they actually call you with an estimate before performing ANY work on your vehicle. Did I mention the free inspection to diagnose the problem! The staff is amazing and very trustworthy. They have worked on my wife’s car and mine a few times each since we have lived in Fond Du Lac for 2 years. I had an estimate done at another place in town and was quoted around $500 to $700 for the repairs needed. Took it to car x and they literally had it in the shop for 15 minutes max and fixed it for free with a screwdriver! When the other shop misled me to think it was a major transmission/lines problem. Also recently had an ECM problem I was not aware of and they very generously looked at it for hours to diagnose what was wrong and help me with info on how to fix it. They did not charge me for that either. Not saying they do all work for free. But when I have them do work it’s done right and is very fairly and honestly priced. I would recommend the Car X in Fond Du Lac literally over any vehicle technicians I personally have ever went too! Thank you Mike, Andrew, Ethan and all the rest of the staff at Car X

I brought my Camry in for an oil change and tire rotation. The techs, B Strean and B King were great! They did the job promptly and professionally. They were very friendly and I could see they were hard working and seasoned mechanics. They advised to come back in a few days to ensure the lug nuts remained tight. I went back and the manager promptly checked them himself. I was very pleased with my visit and will give them my future business. Also, they did not try to sell me products or services I didnt need. Great experience!

You know, I really like these guys. Waiting area is sparse on comfort but their auto service has it where it counts. They were $50 lower for a tire install than another tire place across town. Honest, fast, and easy to deal with.I have been there for tires for both of my vehicles and most recently for brakes and rotors. Mike is great to deal with and treats you fairly.

I absolutely love this place! I am a single woman who doesnt know much about cars, but the owners here honestly tell me what is wrong with my car, and what they can do to fix it. They have gone above and beyond. Today I went in to have a wheel bearing replaced, which they did for cheaper than expected! I also asked for an oil change. Mike ran into a problem with my oil pan while changing the oil, but he didnt say I needed a new one - the old was repaired to work perfectly. I am beyond thrilled with my experience here. PLUS they now have a really comfy couch to rest in while I wait! I wont be going anyplace else for my car repairs.

Had some extensive air conditioning work done there on my 2005 Yukon. Had some just a couple of issues and they didn’t hesitate to fix it. A year later air conditioning did not work in the back. Took it back due to going on vacation and even though the issue wasn’t their fault they fixed the line for me and only charged me for the R134. The manager was great and I had a great experience with CarX of Fond du Lac. I will not hesitate to take my car there again.

I was passing through on my way to a funeral in February of 2019 and my car broke down. The employees went up and beyond for my 6 yo daughter and me to make sure we were taken care of. One of the employees drove us personally to our rental car place and refused to accept any money. The best part...the repairs were done right and at a fair price, according to my local mechanic here in Iowa. The owner must be honest and fair because his employees are stellar and really care about the business. I would recommend them to anyone.

This is long pass due but a few weeks ago I brought in my truck for new tires. They did a great job servicing my truck and they have a great plan for tire protection. They also were able to identify a problem with my tire rod and now my truck drives so much better. I want to thank mike and the rest of the crew for a job well done and I recommend carx fond du lac to everybody I know due to the friendly and knowledgeable staff. Was recommended this place from my sisterTook my car there because I new my breaks probably needed to be changed and a squeaking sound too. Dropped it off at about 11am and by 11:15 called and said I needed needed front brakes and rotors. Was ready to get picked up before 1pm. (I was expecting if to be much later) They were even nice and showed me my old brake pads to show that they should have been replaced a while ago. Will definitely be going there for future maintenance.

You really wont find anywhere else that will go out of there way for your safety. I found Mike and his team a year ago and Im very pleased I did. I travel a lot so his advise is golden. He keeps my car top notch.

I am BEYOND THRILLED about my first ever Car-x experience! Mike made sure I was taken care of and never pressured me into an extra service or accessories--in fact, I nearly had to keep talking HIM into some services I wanted for my car lol. I was a walk in yesterday to see if I could get an oil change. Anthony greeted me and told me he could get me in at 4 or he had more appointments available the next day. I took the 4 oclock appointment as I need the oil change that day!! I went back at 4 and was again greeted by Anthony, very friendly. Filled out some paperwork and told me it would be about 30-45 minutes before my truck would be done. I thought it was awesome how they left the tv remote out so the customers could watch what they wanted!!! Time flew by really fast, before I knew it my truck was done and I was only there for 20 minutes!!! Great place, great people, first time there and will continue to go back for further services. Highly recommend anyone to go here and get work done if you have not!!!!

Sorry for the late review mike. My wife and I would recommend this place to everyone. Late July we move back to WI from Florida where we had been living for 4 years while in Florida before the move we took our vehicles in and had them do a complete check of the vehicles they told us that there were no problems and that there wasnt anything that really needed to be done but on my wifes that it would be about 500 plus to replace the brakes and rotors. We told them not to replace them cause we couldnt really afford it and they said shouldnt be a problem on the trip. Well sure enough it ended up being a problem right at the end lucky for us we found this gem of a store and in fact he charged us 200 less than what they said it was going to cost. I will be coming back to see Mike for anything our cars need.

Yesterday my car started making a loud rattling noise. Its labor day weekend and I knew it would be difficult to find a mechanic that was open on Saturday. Car-X was open! I called and asked if they could help me. I was told that they were booked solid for the day, but they would look at my car in between appointments. Im very grateful because I had plans to go out of town, and I was going to cancel because I didnt know what was wrong with the car. It turned out to be a loose part, and they tightened it up. They said it will need work eventually, but its not an important part and I can schedule it any time in the future. This is the place I get my oil changed as well. The waiting area is clean and has WiFi and TV.

Very satisfied with the services provided. Quick and customer service is great!!!Today I took my car in and no A/C and a wierd noise. He got it in and fixed I under 3 hours. Iv never had any issues with there work. And always I repeat always friendly. I will go back anytime I need them . . You rock!!!!!!

These guys have been great. Last year I had to take my Jeep in to get my stem on my tire changed and they fit me in quick. Then once again my other side tire stem broke off this year and they fit me in and then because Im military refused to let me pay for the work they did for me. I promise you I will take all my work to them and make sure I let all the guys at the unit know how I was taken care of by everyone here. You dont get this kind of service at a lot of places anymore, take care of the ones that service you well!!!!

Wanted a free check and estimate for my brakes. Told them I replaced the pads in back but the shoes for the parking brake were junk. Guy at desk argued with me saying there were no shoes. After a half hour he came back to tell me my pads were good which I knew because I just replaced them. They then realized the shoes were behind the rotor and said they couldnt see them unless they took it apart. Never got a estimate for the shoes. Never going back. Theyve lost 2 vehicles and my business.

Well I went to get all 4new tires but on my car that part was amazing everything went smooth fixed the problem that I was having a half hour later I went to go get in my car to go pick up the kids from the pool and my car wouldn’t start it doesn’t click over the dash board lights the radio nothing will turn on I’ve been so overwhelmed with this trying to figure out what could be wrong that I didn’t have time to call and let them know what is going on yet... I’m not saying that it was their fault but it’s just really frustrating when the last place you when to was a car shop and now the car doesn’t work

Mike the store manager was great and so was every one of the techs there! They got me in right away, fixed my problem and I was on the road in about 2 hours. Their waiting area is very comfy as well! So glad I brought my car here, was absolutely worth my drive from Beaver Dam!

I have been a customer for over 17 years with 7 different vehicles. I have always found the staff very knowledgeable, competent, punctual and friendly. I greatly appreciate that they always advise me concerning the services my cars and trucks need without pressuring me to perform services that are not needed. What a rip off. When I tried to use the life time muffler replacement warranty they said they only replaced the resenater, but my receipt said that they replaced the muffler. It is criminal what they are doing. An elderly lady that I was talking to said that she was there for the third time having her power window fixed. Please dont go to Car - Rip Off X.

Had a noise when I brake and took it in for inspection. They determined it was a loose sensor in the trunk. They reattached it at no charge. I have been going there for years and have always been satisfied with their customer service and technical ability. Thanks Mike!

Needed a replacement tire on a Saturday afternoon. Staff completed the job within 30 minutes of the vehicle leaving the flatbed and before closing time. Excellent and professional job by all!

My vehicle started rumbling and running really rough. I was on the highway headed to Atlanta Georgia. Not good timing as vehicle trouble never is. I took a chance and have no regrets. This repair shop got me right in even though they were short handed in the shop. I received the best customer service! They made sure I knew what was wrong and how much it would be. They are also dog friendly and gave me the wifi code while I waited. They had me fixed up and back on the road in less than 2 hours. Hands down, this is the shop you want to use!

Weve been taking our cars to CarX for several years now. A change in management always makes me nervous but my most recent experience with Mike was great. He explained all the repairs thoroughly, answered all my questions and saved us money where he could. The techs were fantastic as well, staying after close to make sure the alignment was exact.

I have patronized this facility for over 15 years.The new manager Michael Pokorney is efficient, courteous, honest and trustworthy. All this with a fair price.The services are broad in scope and the hours of operation are convenient.

I called for a window that came off the track. I was able to come in two hours later and they also took care of a plethora of other issues that were causing my car to shake at highway speeds. Everything was explained well and went over thoroughly with me so I knew what was going on every step of the way. There were a few curveballs that were thrown and Anthony was amazing at handling everything to make sure I was able to have my car so I could get to work that night even though it meant staying over an hour after closing to take care of it. I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone! Great service and great work!!

Mike was great. Needed a tire put on a rim had it sone extremely quick for dropping it off first thing in the morning. Mike also helped me out by giving me a upgraded tire becuase the quoted tire was out of stock. Great people and very easy to work with. Thanks again Mike.

This shop was great. We were experiencing some car trouble on our way back home, so we stopped here and asked if they could look at my van. They looked at it made sure it was safe for me to finish our drive home and didnt charge us a thing. It was a very friendly shop and very informative.

Mike helped us out in a pinch with a noise in the steering. Good explanation of what was happening which I always appreciate knowing. This was my first time going to CarX and I had a very pleasant experience. I took my car in for two new tires, an oil change, and an alignment. It was finished within two hours and when I came back to pick my car up, he had also checked all of my fluids, brake conditions, etc for free. Most places charge for this! He did not. Very reasonable prices. I will be going here for all of my future car needs.

Mike at CarX has been amazing! He’s been able get my vehicle in and fixed up exceptionally quickly, twice now. I called to ask about getting my breaks looked at and the manager answered right away. He said they have a free inspection and said to bring it right over to look at it. We waited maybe 20 mins and he said that the front breaks needed to be changed due to grinding. He gave me a price and I debated after hearing it would take over an hour as we had to go get on of the kids from school. He assured us we would be done in time. And 45 mins later we were on our way. He was not pushy for extra things. He was so kind and helpful!!! Thanks again!!!! Highly recommended!!
