Be careful if you ever rent a car from there and don’t initial or sign anything until you make sure you read it. They overcharged my card almost $300 in one day rental . I had to go dispute the transaction through my bank. I’ll never ever go back there or recommend it to anyone i know.
One star is too generous for the customer service, or lack thereof, I received from this business. I have never in my life felt such condescension from another human being, and I have worked in customer service all of my life. Aside from offering no general help or kindness, while he was on the phone with another customer, he accused me of trying to go into his office. (His tone suggested his next move was to call the police). I was seeking a quieter spot to keep his voice from activating the automated phone menu of my insurance company (who he refused to contact on my behalf while I was struggling). After I finally got everything he needed, I handed him my debit card (I bank with Chime), and he made it very clear that Chime IS NOT A BANK. He then offered no alternative (like, could I pay with cash?) and seemed happy that I was also going to be charged a $350 deposit, (which the reservation did not mention anything about). He made me feel like a rat that just crawled out of the sewer and invading his space. I had the money, but I walked out instead. And just fyi, if you are not going through your insurance, their own insurance is $45 a day.
I went to this location after making a reservation on the app. When I arrived the customer service guy told nothing was available and I would have to wait an hour and a half, I’m like ok fine. I leave and realized he didn’t ask for any info on how to get in contact with me when the other car arrived. I called back and he then tells me my reservation been cancelled and he no longer has any cars available so I go on to hertz app and put in my conformation number and it’s still active. I go back to the branch and try to work something out the customer service guy was NO HELP AT ALL he didn’t want to help me out even when his manager told him to push it through. He was really acting like he didn’t want to do it. When I had a little hope of getting one I can tell he was upset about it but then when they didn’t get things to go through for me he seemed happy. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!! And as I was sitting outside trying to get on the phone with corporate he locked the doors as if I was going to come in and harm him. And I don’t think I have to even tell y’all what I’m about to say but yeah he might r.
Worst customer service experience I ever had. Rep called my wife during a snow storm to return their rental car. We told him we could not because of iced roads, but they could try to pick it up if they like. Rep hung up on my wife. Towing services would not even come to us because of weather. We called Hertz corporate, and they told us the rep was rude to them as well. When I returned the car, I asked to speak to a manager. The very same rep was then rude to me and told me to leave or he would call the police. I asked for my receipt, which he refused to provide. He then calls 911 and says a Black man is threatening him. Police come out and the Rep is rude with them! He finally agrees to give me my receipt, which of course is wrong. Heed all these negative reviews. As a business owner, I am appalled at how one employee is running a franchise into the ground. Save yourself the trouble and go to Enterprise.
This place doesn’t even deserve 1/2 star. I called 2 days prior to picking up rental and was assured everything was good and the SUV would be ready. I was quoted 380.00 with unlimited mileage for a week online. I arrive 15 min early and the car is dirty and (muddy all over carpet in back) the manager insisted I produce my insurance “declaration” with details of my auto coverage. I only have my card with me and my insurance company is closed on saturdays. (Who carries that information with them anyway??) I was never informed that I needed to bring it when picking up the car. I’ve rented from other companies and have never had to produce such!!! The manager then quotes a total of 970.00 with limited mileage. Bottom line....don’t rent from here! Not honest..not efficient...not good for business!!!!
This place is under staffed and takes to long to rent a car.when i got here there were two people in front of me. Ive been here a hour and a half and i still have one more person in in front of me. Dont know what the staff do when they leave and dont come back in for 45 minutes but they sure must be busy. I do NOT recommend coming here if you are on any kind of time schedule.
Yesterday, we reserved a car for an overnight business trip. When we got to the Hertz in Florence, we were told they didnt accept the only credit card we had. The card was issued by our bank. The employee said that the local Hertz was having a legal dispute with the bank and was not accepting cards from that bank. We had reserved the car online and there was nothing online about not accepting our card. We even used that same card to reserve the car. Even though they had our phone number, no one called before pick-up time to tell us they couldnt accept our card. Of course, they dont take cash, they wont take a different card over the phone, its Saturday and they close at noon and there are no cars to rent at the only other rental location in town. Now we are stuck and dont know what to do. Im a Hertz Gold Member, but will never rent from them again.
Was not nice or upfront with what was the criteria of renting a car also tried charging more than what my online reservation said.
2 words...BAIT AND SWITCH...advertise one price and then tack on all sorts of additional requirements you dont publish when a customer books a reservation...after the smug guy at the desk told me it was going to be an additional 55 per day, that was it...I was done...
This place is horrible and was from start to finish.They purposely try to confuse you on the cost and then over charge you.I accidentally locked the keys in the car and instead of offering any real help the guy that works there response was that he would send a tow truck to get the car and basically leave me stranded instead of giving me the number for the roadside service that comes with the rental. I booked online for a economy car but they only had one car available and they acted like they were doing me a huge favor by giving me a new Jeep (not clean when I got it)but that was really the only option. What I plan on contacting the better business bureau about is me agreeing to one amount and them charging my card for more than that.Twice.Also they said i smoked in the vehicle and I absolutely did not.I am a smoker but I stopped and smoked when I needed a cigarette since it was a new car.I have never been treated so badly by a company. FYI They are not owned or operated by the real Hertz so complaining to that office is a waste of time and energy.I would give it negative five stars if I could.
I returned rental car at florence AL on 06/13/2020 and I got charged until 06/22 with a bill of $1854!!!!They didn’t have anyone to give me a ride after I dropped off the car and that lady didn’t give me a receipt.I called the customer care to give me a refund, it’s been 10 days no response!I think all because the return info wasn’t correctly entered by the lady who works there. And there was no one else in the office who could give me a ride so I had to take my own Uber!Plus now I have low credit score because hertz took out $1800 something from my credit card!!!!This is beyond ridiculous
We picked up our car on a Saturday and it looked as if an employee had called in or didnt show as our CSR was the only person there. We went through the paperwork and signed for our Saturday to Saturday rental. The CSR went to the back to get the vehicle, and then came back to tell me that the car was dirty and needed to be cleaned, so she was going to clean it and bring it to the front. Well just agree that our definitions of clean are not the same as the exterior and interior of the vehicle were not clean. It might have been sprayed off and the trash emptied out, but it was still dirty inside and out.The kicker, though, when we were surprised by family with an extra night on our trip, I called to check in on the charges and if there would be any charges for returning the car 7 hours later, on Saturday evening, rather than Saturday morning. Ill say that I know that I signed the contract for the return date and time, but I thought I would call and talk to the company first. The employee that I spoke with told me there would be no charge. Of course, my credit card statement comes and Ive been charged. I call to talk to someone about this, and all employees are now saying, I didnt say that. The employee that I spoke with at the location before speaking with the manager actually said, Good luck proving that.This review would be one star, but the young woman I dealt with renting the car was actually very nice, so she saved them a star. Ill recommend going anywhere else before renting a car from here.
I can’t say I’ve had a bad experience like everyone else on here. I was put in a 2020 Toyota Corolla that was spotless on the inside. Employees were very nice about everything and explained all the costs of the rental. Brought it back when my Volkswagen Jetta got fixed and I was in and out in 5 minutes. Definitely recommend.
My boyfriend & I rented a vehicle over the weekend. Not only did they charge us for the rental but they charged us TWICE for no reason whatsoever. We’ve called multiple times pertaining to the transaction & we continue to the run around. If it were $75 I would not care, but you can’t charge someone over $300 TWICE. I’ll be sure to reach out to whoever I have to in order to let them know how this store is being ran. I understand I’m not the only customer or problem that being said, the customer service could be better. I can’t be the only one to have Troubles. worst rental place.

Florence located the guy working didnt say hi or nothing we waiting 10 minutes then, he was rude to us and then my husband sitting down, he change price of car higher than they said, it wasnt the cost if was the rude guy, we leave and went to enterprise to get one, lost two customers for sure today
I was not pleased with my rental, I had already booked a rental 1week in advance from someone hitting my car and it needed repairs. I call 2 days before to check on my rental and they say they dont have a car available at their intermediate level, so essentially Im down rated to a Ford fiesta. Not a big deal but they had to get the car from another location. And to even top it off the car that I was picked up in smelled like smoke. However staff I spoke to were friendly and explained everything to me about my rental and what I need to do if anything went wrong. Everything else was quick and simple even the paperwork.
Terrible service and they over charged me for a vehicle. Will not use ever again.back to enterprise.
If I could leave this location negative stars I would. The “manager” in the office was absolutely no help, was unaccommodating, and offered EXTREMELY poor customer service. After a series of issues with the rental she refused to offer a refund, a refund I should have received because I was not taking the car. After being transferred to two different people on the telephone and finally to the Hertz call center I was given a refund. I would advise anyone looking to rent a car to stay as far away from this business as possible.
I got a rental from this location setup by the ins company While I was waiting on my truck to be fixed after being rear ended. First I had to wait days to receive a truck then when I got there to pick it up it hadn’t even been cleaned inside or out. Second the ins company explained that I would have this rental for as long as my truck was being worked on. But instead of this being the case when hertz time allotment ran out they started calling the next morning acting like I had stole the truck telling me in a voicemail and my wife on the phone that they were trying to locate the truck I was driving. Needless to say it has been a fight between us about returning the truck and getting the ins company on the phone to tell them it was ok. On top of that they charged me a $50 deposit up front (no big deal) but then have charged my card $89 twice on top of that. Not easy to deal with at all find somewhere else to get a rental!
Have rented several vehicles from Hertz rental on cox creek parkway location and I would definitely recommend renting a vehicle from their they have nice vehicles good prices and a very friendly and helpful staff

Very helpful professional ladies. Much welcome change after we had booked with enterprise (who gave away our rental then told us they would try to find one from a classified location and so much more craziness!) We plan to only work with them from now on when going on trip or simply needing a rental vehicle as it was a welcome stress free rental transaction.
The customer service at the Florence, Alabama location was fantastic. If I ever need too rent another car I will use that location. Thanks.

Unable to rent a car because I was using a debit card and my credit score wasnt up to their standards. So I had to call the body shop and pick up my wrecked jeep and hope it didnt fall apart until I could make other arrangements. Very disappointed..
Absolutely horrible experience! My insurance company booked me here. I went right before closing time at 4:30 PM. They had two clerks working. One (a blonde girl) was helping another customer and the other (a dark haired girl) fled into the back when I came in.I waited and the customer had to briefly leave and check on his bank for a deposit. The blonde started helping me when the other customer returned. The brunette was still hiding. The brunette reappeared .The blonde finished my rental and advised me that all of their cars were non-smoking (I dont smoke). The blonde asked the brunette to show me my car. She was visibly put out by having to actually work. She showed me my car and it smelled strongly of weed. I brought this to her attention and she said it would go away in couple of days. I refused the car.We went back inside and the brunette dumped me off on the blonde again, who was helping out the other customer. They had a lot full of cars, but apparently only two were local rentals. TThe brunette had gone out and opened up the other car and started the air conditioner, so it wasnt until I was a ways away that I noticed the car smelled like a Las Vegas casino. I went back and they were gone.I called my insurance company and set up a return and a rental with Enterprise. I came back at opening and explained this to the only clerk, the blonde.She apologized and told me they would have to charge for two days. I told her that I got the car after closing and returned it at opening. I had only driven it home and back (less than five miles). I also emphasized that the return was because both their non-smoking cars stunk.She called the owner to authorized a discount. Once he found out I was going with Enterprise, he refused and said to charge full.DO NOT GO HERE! The blonde clerk was awesome, but the other staff I worked with is horrible! I truly hope all Hertz locations are not like this one.
Ive used both Enterprise and Hertz in the Florence area. Though Enterprise did their job, Hertz pulled through for me when I had to make a last minute business trip. They also worked with me during this time when I had to hold the vehicle for several months. Saved my hide and I was definitely grateful.
Didnt even register the car I drove 24 hours away from the rental location in my name and I never received the proper paperwork to get my out of pocket expenses refunded by my employer due to the messed up way this experience went. The car I drove was showing up in Minnesota as I rented it in Alabama and drove to Maine and the car was in the name of the person who was last renting it. Hopefully theyre not being charged for the companys mess ups...If not for my drop off location I would have never been aware of any of the misconduct on this locations end. (Thank God I wasnt in a wreck while driving a rental car that this one employee at this Hertz location never registered to me or added my name at all. After I paid fees for not only renting but for full insurance as well but never would have been covered since I wasnt even legally renting said car to my astonishment I was made aware at the drop off location a day and a half later.) Thank you Hertz in Newark, Delaware!!

Total and complete rip-off. Renter beware the prices they advertise are about half of what they actually end up charging you per day. And they place exorbitant holds on your credit card or debit card whenever something does not go as planned and you cant return the car exactly on time. Their online posted hours are also false advertising as they just started new shorter summer hours. Hertz has already been sued along with many times along with their advertising partner for misleading pricing. When will the Federal government step up and smack them down with the full force of the Consumer Protection Bureau? Im thinking about bringing them to the attention of the Feds myself.
Worst rental place ever! There were bugs in the car! BEYOND furious at the services! They continued to place unexplainable charges on our account WEEKS after we returned the car. They took so much out of our account, we were left in the negative for DAYS! Customer Service department wasn’t any help, they just told us to talk to the location where we received the car. Then when we went to the Hertz we rented the car from, they told us to contact the Billing Department....Long story short, NEVER RENT A CAR FROM THEM
I vacuumed the car and washed it before returning it and was still charged a extra cleaning fee.
