Beware!!! Lots of bad reviews but I wanted to see for myself before joining... no way now after I visited the gym. The manager seemed irritated I was there, my corporate guest pass was denied, and the manager stated that the East Flagstaff Planet Fitness location is independent and does not follow corporate policy. I suggest looking for a better managed gym elsewhere.

The pics are from the Flagstaff Branch. Spacious maybe, but not squeaky clean. Soap scum build up is gross. The floor had scum buildup that was so nasty I threw away my shower shoes. I literally felt dirtier coming out than when I went in. According to health regulation pertaining to fitness center showers, the showers should be cleaned at the least daily. As for the workout equipment and massage chairs/beds seems okay. I will be looking for another gym that is clean.

Signing up for a membership was a breeze - all online, done in minutes. So, why not be able to cancel online if needed, too? Unfortunately, I found myself going to a gym closer to my house, so I wanted to cancel my membership. In my account, I couldnt find the cancellation option, so I contacted Planet Fitness via e-mail, and was informed Id need to go in to the specific club to cancel. This would take at least an hour out of my day - for what? So they could try to convince me to stay after Ive already made up my mind? Next option was to write a letter, and send via certified(!) mail, and was advised I better do it quickly before the next billing date. So its stand in line at the Post Office to mail a certified letter or drive across town to PF? What a joke! Totally a trap - they got my bank details, and now I feel like Im dealing with a child to get it cancelled. I didnt have any poor feelings about PF until I went to cancel -- I just didnt go enough to make it worth the membership. However, after experiencing this type of shady business practice, Id steer clear. There are several other gyms in town that are much easier to work with if you ever need to pause or cancel your membership.

I thought 3 stars were adequate for someone who only walked inside the prescott PF, I travel and was looking for a gym with showers and membership for diff states,its sad to hear alot of negative reviews and pictures of gross showers and so called muscleheads staying on equipment while on phone,I will be looking to find a diff nationwide gym,I hope there is one,thank you

Walked in at 5am on Spring road trip and sincerely greeted by the front staff. This PF has the most modern machines of any Ive ever been in. Great showers, hot water, clean and spotless mens locker area. Really nice gym. Flagstaff really fortunate to have this top line franchise. Front desk makes it great.

Imagine youre thousands of miles from home on a once in a lifetime journey. After weeks of hiking you pop into the local PF to do a simple workout, take a shower, and chill. Everything is great until you hop into the shower: the water is cold. Maybe it needs a minute to warm up, you tell yourself. Crouched in the corner you patiently wait ...and wait....and wait until it finally dawns on you that you wont be getting a warm shower today. You quickly bathe yourself leaving the shower just as quickly as you got in. Your energy level has dropped a few vibrations. You begin questioning all your life choices...A new hot water heater would be a simple, yet welcomed modification at this location. That is all.

I love Planet Fitness, but the experience would be nothing without Ty from the front desk. He is always so helpful and extremely nice. If he were my employee, I would undoubtedly give him a raise!!!

Small, but everything is spaced out well. The bathrooms are nice and clean. The showers are hot enough, but Ive noticed that nearly every planet fitness that I go thru has a plumbing issues in the stalls and the waters builds up..

This is a great gym with one exception. Many awesome members are tieing up equipment while on the their phones for long periods instead of working out. This is a busy gym and this kind of rude behavior is OUT OF HAND and needs to be policed by the staff. Limit phone use on the floor to fitness apps only...conversations, emailing, messaging and all else should be restricted to the waiting area...ITS CALLED COURTESY!!!😎*************

Staff does not maintain a clean environment. The mens locker room is always filthy. The showers are cold, if the water warms up or starts out warm it will not last your whole shower. I am writing this review after walking into. Disgusting locker room that stinks like a moldy drain.

Totally unhappy with my Flagstaff experience as I’m visiting from out of state. Showers lose pressure if someone flushed a toilet. There is little privacy in the shower area. The tanning bed had dirt and debris under the glass which the wall states new bulbs so not sure how there would be dirt if there’s new bulbs. With COVID-19 and the variants rampant I expected literally everything to be clean. So disappointed isn’t even close to my experience here.

Horrible experience, wanted a day pass to tryout gym Nope! Can I pay for one? Nope,I was gonna pay for 1 year in advance still couldnt give me the plan I wanted. They just want your card on file so the can get that maintenance fee, so they can hold that monthly price. Sales pitch. After all that I asked well I want to be a member can I workout today? Nope sorry its not in the program. This was in Flagstaff AZ . So I went to aquaplex. Thanks aquaplex for treating me fairly. Not this corporation BS!

Overall good for what it is. Ill continue to train here. Its a large apartment gym, which isnt bad overall. Most of the people who train at this location are cool, staff are amazing 5/5 for staff. Just way to much cardio equipment and not enough weights. Dont expect to be able to use a bench, and really any free weights. If you have a structured regime youll most likely have to improvise. I dont so its not an issue for me personally. Nothing major to complain about but also dont expect a perfect gym for $20 a month. If youre on a budget this is the best option.

No warm water. Fix this. Dont tell me to call Zack. He knows its an issue. The will to fix it isnt there.Staff need to start enforcing PF rules regarding toxic people being bullies here, too. People dropping weights. Violating dress code. Creeper guys. People standing in front of the dumbbells.Otherwise its clean and pretty well outfitted. A jacuzzi or steam/sauna would be amazing.

This is a nice gym. Clean and well-equipped.BUT, they cant keep hot water for the showers or sinks. This problem has been ongoing for months and they need to fix it.... as a follow up, Planet fitness did reach out to me via Google advising me to contact the manager if I had any concerns. So I did. Several days later, still no hot water...

Apparently Flagstaff location owner cannot make decision for day passes to travelers. Jennifer(not the owner) said the owner does not make the decision. Additionally she stated she cannot make the decision to earn an additional fee for a day from travelers. Someone send her to a math class, and basic business management. Shes soooo bright.

Great place to workout. Plenty of treadmills and the massage chairs and tables are great after working out. Only thing I was hoping they would have more of is free weights.

This gym is sad. Every time I go there the showers are both filthy and ice cold. They always say their working on it which is now 3 months long. Too management, get your $&@# together!!!

I have loved Planet Fitness for many years. I lived in El Paso, Texas where I would go at 4 in the morning, exercise and get ready for work. When I moved to Flagstaff, I called their offices and asked that they build one here. Almost a year later, here it is! Thank you!! Hope to get back on track!!!!!

Staff are friendly, they greet you when you come in the door, making you feel welcome.

I was actually a bit nervous to go here because I lift heavy and I was worried they would frown upon that. I couldnt have been more wrong. They do a great job making a space for everyone at any stages of your journey. Staff is always warm and welcoming, bathrooms are clean and the places pases the vibe check for sure. I have even worn tank tops and slammed weight (on accident I was smoked) and I have never caught a sideways glance. If I had any complaint it would be the dumbells maxing out at 75, that said recommend this gym just dont be on the machine I want ha ha

Was excited to sign up and get a gym membership until I heard about the cleanliness of the showers and the freezing cold water.I get it, cleaning showers is not a glamorous job. I’ve worked at restaurants where I had to clean the toilets and it absolutely sucked. But guess what? I did it and did it well because it was my JOB and I got paid to do it.As for the cold water there’s no excuse there. Thank you for everyone leaving reviews and making me aware of these problems!

Many reviews mention issues & PFs response is that the reviewer needs to contact PF staff. This IS their way of letting PF know about a problem. Whomever monitors these reviews needs to be forwarding concerns to the right person at PF. Dont make your clients report problems twice. Fix the cold showers. Its a known issue from the various reviews. Until then youve lost 4 potential new clients.I saw review responses from a few weeks ago saying the reviewer needs to tell PF staff about a problem in person. A more recent response says they need to contact the manager. Which one is it, staff or management? It sounds like communication between the personnel is ineffective, and accountability is somehow on the client. It is uncomfortable for people to discuss a problem face to face sometimes. You dont want to come off as a Nancy, and you dont even know if the info youre relaying will be escalated to the right person. After a bad experience, most people just want to leave and not wait around to talk to anyone on their frustrated walk to the exit.

Clean and good basic well equipped gym to get back into the public workout groove post covid. Price is great and no contract is even better!

The gym part is fine. Nothing to write home about, a pretty typical setup for a PF.No self-respecting human being should find the locker room facilities and their associated configuration in this establishment acceptable. There is no excuse for this. This location is not old—this was built like this recently. Has Planet Fitness Corporate not learned through the construction of literally thousands of gyms how to establish guidelines for the construction of functional locker room facilities? I have been traveling quite a bit this year and visiting Planet Fitnesses along the way is sort of like playing the Wheel of Fortune. At the Flagstaff, AZ location, the wheel has landed on BANKRUPT.First, as other reviewers have mentioned, this location suffers from a lack of hot water and appears to have exhibited this issue since its construction. In fact, walking outside during one of Arizona’s rare rainstorms would yield a more comfortable experience than the Arctic waters emanating from the shower heads here. The staff claim that there is nothing they can do because the hot water is provided by the mall that this gym is a tenant within (which sounds questionable to me). My question is, how do you open a gym without asking questions such as “what needs to be done to ensure there is hot water for our average daily expected patron usage?”? This is an oversight I would expect from a very rookie gym operator, maybe building out their first facility. PF has developed thousands of gyms. How was this overlooked? If the site cannot deliver the necessary hot water capacity for whatever reason, it is probably not a good candidate to house a gym.Second, the showers themselves are smaller than your average house shower with nowhere to put your belongings other than in the shower to be doused with frigid water along with your miserable body. There are no attached changing areas, so you have to take a naked stroll across the open locker room to get to the changing area on the other side. This is hostile design at its worst. This location does not appear to me to be at a deficit for square footage, and in fact, the hall between the shower area and changing room is probably wide enough to accommodate attached changing areas for each shower stall. Was this locker room designed by Satan himself, with intent to inflict maximum pain and suffering?The lack of consistent facilities is a problem across the Planet Fitness location base, but this one probably takes the cake for the worst. If I lived in Flagstaff permanently, you could not pay me to endure the anguish associated with regular visits to this horrific location, much less me paying $20/month for the misfortune. They claim that because each location is independently owned and operated, corporate has limited control over the experience. Would McDonald’s allow an aspiring franchisee to open a store without a deep fryer? Without an ice machine? Without electricity? Of course not. They establish brand standards. All PF executives should be forced to take an annual sabbatical across the US while experiencing the facilities they sanction firsthand. No grooming anywhere else but a PF locker room. 2 weeks minimum. I bet this would inspire some meaningful changes.Finally, the more compassionate side of me wants to be of assistance. PF Corporate: do you need help? It sure seems like it. When your business relies on the construction of physical spaces, you should probably be a lot better at it than this. I am sure we could work out a mutually beneficial arrangement for me to provide common-sense consulting services to your organization. I eagerly await your reply. Together, we can fix your horribly inconsistent nationwide facilities once and for all.

Being a van lifer that uses planet fitness to shower and get in some movement, I was very disappointed to have a cold shower after looking forward to a hot one. The previous reviews about cold showers had responses from the owner saying to speak to management so thats what I did today hoping I would get at least a warm shower. The girl at the front desk said there was nothing they could do because they share water from the mall so that was a dead end. The first shower I used was the first stall. The water temp at best got above the temperature of lakes in Wisconsin during Feb. The water pressure in stall 2 was a joke. They should just turn that one into a changing stall or an extra stretching space since they seemed to forget about that when building this planet fitness. The third stall, however, is the winner of them all. Hot water and normal water pressure. Your welcome if you read this before you go in.

Customer service was good. But the showers are terrible compared to my home gym. Temperature ice cold to cold, not even warm & very little pressure. The showers stalls are also about 1/3 the size of my home gym & have curtains instead of glass doors. At least fix the water even if you cant do remodeling. Again customer service was good & they had the usual assortment of machines.

Not sure what all the people are complaining about? They must’ve fixed the shower issue or else I got lucky. Shower was hot and worked as it should. Everything else around the gym was as it should be

I hope you like cold showers.I let the staff know about the cold showers multiple times.. They say that theyll have maintenance deal with it, but the showers are still cold. There are multiple reviews on here mentioning the cold showers. Is it really that hard to turn up the hot water heater?

The place is clean and the staff are mostly helpful. Id like to say that too many women are staring at me while I work out but in fact no...theyre all men. FML. But hey Ill take all the attention I can get lol. 😉

With the restricted hours, the gym is still ridiculously busy until close. Needs to be open until at least 11, if not midnight. Membership seems way up with the NAU gym closed, but we are all packed in during the peak hours. Instead of 4-10, make the hours at least 5-11 or 5-midnight. It is clean inside though and the staff are great. And before you tell me to contact management in response, I did, twice. I got some empty response about the crowd meter (which is now deceptive - it should measure how busy it is in relation to capacity).

In my experience they are not consistently asking guests to wear masks once they’ve entered. They’ll ask at check in but then don’t seem to notice/care if people put them below their nose or around their neck once they’re inside. For a place full of people breathing heavy in pretty close proximity, I think they really ought to be more diligent about it

I have been going to gym for a couple of months now 6 days a week its become like my second home both the staff and the customers are second to none I made many friends there that I see on a regular basis for me it adds a richness to my work out exspence.

Great place to work out! Lots of equipment and circuit choices, good variety of TV channels, locker area spacious and clean, super affordable, love the Black Card amenities like massage bed,etc. & friendly and helpful staff!

Clean club however they still are not 24/7 while most locations around the country have been since reopening last summer which is ridiculous. I wouldn’t bother with any kind of black card membership until after they decide to join the rest of planet fitnesses around the country since our location is way too busy due to this problem

The shower heads are awful and they need to be cleaned. The wifi is not reliable inside the fitness center. The staff have acknowledged this and stated the company may not get it fixed and are aware of the situation.

Tried to pay for a day pass to train while in Flagstaff for the weekend, but was told PF does not offer day passes.Update:I went back to this location and showed them your reply, the lady in the front said they do not offer any kind of day passes. Very disrespectful to make me drive over and waste my time for nothing...

Glad it’s here. Can be full at times but that’s because NAU’s gym is closed and lots of students.

I love this place! Its so nice that its back open. Everyone was masked up, socially distancing and cleaning equipment like theyre supposed to. Also, the staff was extra diligent about cleaning equipment also. Love it!

I just switched to Planet Fitness this morning due to the fact that my previous gym has had unacceptable customer service that I have been dealing with for the last few weeks. It was so refreshing to be welcomed with open arms to Planet Fitness. Shoutout to Morgan & Zack at the front desk. Morgan answered all my questions when signing up with a smile on her face. Zack was so patient while he helped me over the phone before I arrived and also helped me adjust the machines during my first workout. Very happy with my experience. Thanks!!

Flagstaff AZ needs another PF, its too crowded and the machines have wierd ergonomics.

Still havent received a refund for an over charge fee in over a month, I call no answer, I come in and they say itll get taken care of, doesnt happen. I hear they dont reinforce the mask rule, Ill be coming in to cancel my membership with them, they can keep the overcharge Im over fighting for it.

**Until COVID-19 passes, dont bother picking up a membership here.**Because NAUs fitness center is closed, Planet Fitness has picked up the runoff of students who otherwise would be working out on campus. Consequently, this gym has become an absolute zoo!Unless you are willing to workout at 4 AM, be prepared to spend a decent amount of time waiting around to use equipment in a completely packed gym where social distancing is non-existent.Thanks, Rita!

Worst gym ever!!! This place where do I start, I was with my dad all we wanted to do was look around and see what the gym had to offer. However, the lady at the counter was very rude to me and my dad saying “YOU CANT GO IN THERE GUYS”. So it was very obvious of two things 1- the staff were like her in personality, mean. 2- Since we are not beginners at weight lifting or at least in look she gave us a hairy eye ball. Can you believe it she judged us in a judgement free zone how ironic. Guys don’t give your money to fake places like this! If you want cheap weight lifting go to any time fitness as that is a real gym. Planet fitness should be planet fakeness as it is not a real gym it is a gimmick center. One final note did you know this place has a lunk alarm how cringe!!!!

Worst planet fitness I’ve ever been in..... showers were not cleaned from the night before, broken machines, bathroom literally smelled like feces, no hot water in the men’s shower at 6:45 am. Employees didn’t seem to care.

I was double charged $29.50 at the end of september. i had called them and made them aware of it and they said no problem we can refund that for u. they never did. emailed customer service about it with screenshots from my banking app showing the double charge. and then when i didn’t get a response from the email i went in and talked to someone and still have not gotten a refund. don’t waste your time here or your money especially with covid going on right now because with them closing constantly it’s just a waste

Generally pretty ok about enforcing masks, which is why I chose this gym, but I just watched staff let a group of people without masks walk in and begin working out. I left my workout early due to many people wearing masks improperly, or not at all.

Super great and friendly environment, very clean which is great because everyones doing their part and cleaning their equipment after each use.

I miss my PF family. The place is clean and friendly and is truly NO JUDGEMENT. I love going there and cannot wait until theyre back and I can start going again.

Planet fitness is amazing! The equipment is really nice and always clean and the black card spa has the amenities that you can really enjoy and be able to relax in! The staff is very friendly and super helpful with any questions I have. I was signed up by a young lady named Gabriella and she was very knowledgeable and was very sweet and made the process very easy! I would absolutely recommend planet fitness to my friends and family!

Masks are required but not always enforced by employees, other than that most people follow guidelines and clean up their machines after using them.

Angel signed us up. He was very friendly and showed extraordinary customer service. He made sure we knew and understood our membership, costs, and fees. Great price as for a gym like this. AND its 24/7!!! You cant get a better deal than this! Thanks Angel!! You rock!!!

Honestly its a gym. However this planet fitness is very clean and should be being brand new. Showers are clean. Employees are very friendly more then originally expected. This pf definitely stands out from the rest.
