If this is the place on butler Rd, I was underwhelmed. The front door was locked and blond hair mechanic saw me there for 40mins. He has to be a mute, because he never said anything to me. I should send them an invoice for wasting my time. Here is my.mercedes i need help on. July 5th they were closed along with the 4th, and the 6th as well, because i did not exist. Its disappointing, as i needed there help, and I focus on Mercedes Restoration/Detailing/Ceramic Coatings, as I remove scratches, swirlmarks, and it has been my experience that both disciplines, go hand in hand. Meaning in Sarasota, the mechanic there sold my services to his customers as I was trained in Stuttgart, and everyone had scratches and swirlmarks from carwashes.
I brought my 2014 Countryman in for an oil change - they charged twice what the dealership in North Scottsdale charges. And the dealership washes it for me… I also asked for them to check if it needed a carbon cleaning (a known service for Mini’s). Their response was to run a scan. Carbon cleaning doesn’t pull a code. I used to love these guys but will be making the drive down to the valley from now on. So disappointed.
Terrible gas chemical smell in car that hasn’t gone away since they serviced it. Worse when I turn the heater on. I have never had this problem before and so disappointed. I regret getting my car serviced at Ken’s import service bc this smell is sickening and unbearable. I wish I’d just gone to the dealership where I purchased my car.
I was away from home on vacation in Flagstaff and saw the warning for an oil change. I contacted Ken’s as my car is an import with a very specific type of oil (you can’t get it at Jiffy Lube). Drew at Ken’s got my VIN and ordered the oil along with the parts necessary to do the change. That was on Wednesday and the change was completed the coming Monday. I checked with the dealer in my hometown prior to visiting Ken’s. They said it would be a month before they could service my car. They also quoted double the price! Car is running great so far. Thanks for the research and availability- I don’t know what I would have done otherwise.
I called these guys two days in a row, and apparently they couldnt hear me because they just said hello, hello and hung up on me (Ive never had an issue like this on my phone before). I decided to go in person to talk with them and they were locked up, mid-day on a Thursday, with a sign on the door to call the number I had called 4 times over two days. Maybe these guys are great if you can get through to them, but thats too many red flags for me.
My AC went out and they did everything they could possibly do to repair it. They were very thorough and contacted us with updates. Highly recommend Kens Auto Repair.
Just moved to the area and wanted to find my new mechanic. Explained the problem over the phone and dropped off car using the key drop, since COVID restrictions closed the lobby. Was difficult to get information on the diagnostics. Would call, and the person answering the phone wouldnt have information and the mechanic who did know what was going on was inevitably unavailable. They would promise to call back with info promptly but rarely did. After almost a week, when we finally got a quote, the price seemed unreasonably high for an independent mechanic and the service required seemed pretty vague. We decided to pick up the car and take it to a different shop. Much to our surprise, the car that we dropped off in running condition, now wouldnt start. The mechanic explained it died at the end of his test drive, but he hadnt tried to contact us at the time because at the time he was late for an appointment. Since they hadnt actually taken anything apart, all they were sure of, was it needed major internal transmission service. Thanks for the revelation -- thats why we dropped it off. Anyway, had it towed to the dealer, with much more effective communication and a similar price for the repair.
Had my BMW serviced here last year. It was the beginning of summer and Tino had my car in for the afternoon for a routine oil change. I noticed they had a AC special for $130, which i opted for. After paying the bill, over $300. I was told the AC service could not be preformed and was told i could get the service done at a later date. I was never able to schedule a day that worked for them (during the pandemic lockdown) and a year later we have been playing phone tag. I dont think this was intentional but buyer beware. Im still out the $130 and no longer need the AC service.
Very professional; they called prior to the appointment to be sure they had the right oil and supplies for my Audi. On time and good communication. Reasonable pricing, better than dealership.
Ive had my BMW worked on twice at this business. Once to replace a sensor and once to replace a rear oil seal.Tino and Drew have been great communicating what is needed, the cost and a realistic timeline.Ive been very satisfied and am happy to recommend this business.
I appreciate when good and bad news are properly described and when the right steps to ensure quality work are completed. This is what I experienced from Tino and team.I had to leave my car at the shop 1000 miles away from home due to and engine+transmission mishap, I am glad it was a Tinos shop.Looking forward to picking up my car soon to drive 1000 miles back home.
Prompt service; cost more that I would have liked
I was driving cross country when my engine light came on. I called Ken’s Import Service and Drew helped me. He was awesome in helping me set up an appointment for the next morning. They fixed my problem that morning and had me on the road again. I would highly recommend them.
Honest, thorough and easy to work with on all levels. 👍 I have used them multiple times and will continue to do so.
Took over a week and a half to even look at the car after i dropped it off. I picked up with my ac not working so i took it back and told them to look at it. I call later and am put on hold to find out theyd fixed it and it was over $200. I didnt ask them to fix it. I will never be going here again. It took way too long and they charged me for work i didnt even want done.
Excellent service and above all else honesty. I had a brake service light that was on that could have easily ran into hundreds of dollars. Ended up being just a reset that wasnt done after a brake change. I appreciate there honesty and the way they do business. I will always use Kens for my Mini Cooper and Bentley.
Went to Flagstaff for a ski trip 400 miles from home, idler pulley bearing failed and took out the serpentine belt. Towed to Kens. Fixed the next day, above and beyond my expectations, they found two more bad components and replaced all for a reasonable price. Back home with a great experience.
I had a very positive experience using Ken’s. My daughter car was towed to the dealership for a broken radiator fan. The dealership quoted me thousands of dollars of work and repairs.I decided to move it to Ken’s. He recommended a towing service, they immediately got my daughters car. Turns out the dealership was lying and it was not going to cost thousands of dollars to repair. He fixed the fan and a couple of electrical issues. My daughters car was repaired and ready in 2 days. I paid 1/8 of what the dealership wanted to charge.Communication was good and I would highly recommend Ken’s Import Service. Honest, reliable auto service and repair. My daughters car is a VW Beetle.
I would not recommend this shop to anyone, which is how I wish I was told about it. I took my Jetta in for some repairs to replace two engine mounts and some other minor repairs already been diagnosed by another shop that previously fixed a strut. That was three and a half weeks ago. I just found out that no work on my car has even started yet, but they tried to assure me that they have been diagnosing it the whole time. I had to stop into the shop to find this out because they did not answer the phone once when I tried calling. I rely on my car for work and have probably spent double the cost of the repairs on transportation in the time Ive waited, not to mention the risk of COVID-19 taking Uber/Lyft rides. Therefore, I am taking my car elsewhere so that it can be in the hand of a reliable and communicative auto shop. Flagstaffs monopolies on European automobiles is a real problem.
I’ve taken my Mini Cooper to Ken’s three times now, and every time they have been thorough and honest, and they have returned the car to me in exemplary running order. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
While on a cross country drive from Texas to California, my car broke down and I had to get it towed to Kens Import Service. They took my car in and were able to repair it within the same day. Friendly staff, quick service, and reasonable prices. Extremely thankful for their work!
I came into this shop for the first time due to a starting issue I’ve had with my Volvo, I had accidentally overfilled my oil and they were awesome with draining the oil. I had a faulty wiring for my speed sensor and he told me they couldn’t do it because they can’t warranty their transmission work. They had also charged me 2 hours to replace a brake pressure sensor, but I had another take 30 minutes for a crankshaft sensor. So I’m not pleased with their time on things. I had brought my vehicle again for the same issue and they told me to press the gas if it won’t start. The vehicle should not need me to give it gas to start. I took it to 3 other shops before getting it fixed.
I cannot thank the staff of Ken’s Import Service enough. We were stranded just south of the Grand Canyon. When Ken’s found out our predicament, he worked us in to see what was wrong with my VW. Ken’s looked at the car the next day and was able to o fix it by the day after. We are from the Phoenix area and are so grateful to Ken’s for getting our car fixed in such a short time period. I would recommend Ken’s Import service to anyone!
Very honest. Always does a great job. Follows up promptly on scheduling.
These are great guys and a great place to bring your car for servicing. I have been going there for over a year, and am always treated right. They are the tops, bar none.
These guys were great! They definitely hooked me up with quick repairs to my Mini Cooper at a fair price! Thanks for everything!
Always a great price, always fixed right! ;)
Kens auto is the most honest shop Ive ever used - and Im 60.
Very open and honest about a repair IF needed . They wanted to start at simple and inexpensive fixes and then work upwards.I appreciated their honesty and as it turned out my car only needed to have some screws tightened that a previous car repair shop missed. Clear explanations of the problem! Call Matt or John and you will be treated with respect!
Practically rebuilt my daughters VW the correct way after another garage had its hands in it and screwed it up. Being I was in Glendale and daughter in Flagstaff, they took care of everything and called me with updates. I appreciated the understanding of the long distance. Best part, my daughter has heat in her car during the winter in Flagstaff. Thanks again guys!!!!
We were on our way from Calif to Oklahoma in our 86 VW Westfalia vanand the engine quit running. We had it towed to Kens after they closed that evening. They got on it and had us going again the next day. Tino was great, very accommodating.
Employee was great gave me dionastic problem ordered my part and was replaced quick.
Upon receiving the car the interior and exterior were completely trashed. Tree sap all over everything inside and out. Dirt and pine needles all over the inside. Lack of communication on status of the car. Shop had the car for nearly 3 weeks.
I didnt have time to shop around, so I cant comment on economic value. But all other aspects where great! Very easy to deal with, even in these trying times. Will be using for service on our Audi in the future.
Excellent service on the phone and in person. They actually called when they said they would and the price was unbeatable!! Highly recommend!!
Matt was very knowledgeable, honest and friendly . My NAU son took in his LR3 with some electrical issues. Matt kept me posted on all steps and explained everything to my son. He made recommendations for next time. We have found our new service shop!
They did a great job working on my Volkswagen. I will definitely come here for future maintenance and repairs!
Came to them with a sick bmw.... I just drove in.... out of the blue.... 560 miles from home.... with a sick bmw.... they took me in... without an appt.... and save me and the bmw..... great guys... great shop.... god bless them
Excellent service and a well educated group who were very competent in fixing my Mercedes. They even picked me up and took me back to the shop when my car was ready to go. I highly recommend Kens Import Service.
I brought my 2004 911 in for service in August and had a great experience with Tino and the crew. I was in the middle of a cross-country journey (traveling over 9500 miles)and needed to have the oil changed as well as the air filter. As a 911 owner Im very fussy about who works on my car. I found them friendly, knowledgeable and the pricing was very good.
Looked over my automobile, diagnosed and illustrated all issues in order of urgency. Started with radiator and hoses at a very reasonable price. Way, way less than what a CA friend paid for the same E90 generation radiator repair. I would kill to know even 10% if what they do about German cars. Very easy to chat with and I am grateful to have them in town. Gonna knock out issues as funds permit and have full confidence in their competency and business ethics. Full marks for Kens and all their employees. Thanks guys.
Always a great experience. I have been taking my vehicles to Tino for several years. He has the same mechanics for as long as I can remember. Their service is always top quality and you can tell they are all very knowledgeable of European cars. 5 stars again.
Techs were great. Thank you!
In this day and age with high tech & less face to face dialogue it was refreshing to meet everyone at Ken’s Imports. They stayed late after closing on Friday waiting for the tow truck with my vehicle. Excellent communication as well as service. I would use these guys anytime & also refer family & friends. Thanks again!!!
Got there right when they opened. Had some light warnings on in my VW. Had my friend pick me up. I figured it would be in the shop all week. Not so. I barley got back home to Williams and they called and said it was done. Reasonable price and done quickly.
Pulling a heavy 16’ cargo trailer up the steep grades from Prescott last Friday,V8 engine of our 98 Toyota Landcruiser began missing badly. A friend called ahead to Ken’s Import Service in Flagstaff & they were expecting us when we arrived around 10AM. (They were very COVID cautious, which we very much appreciated!)We waited in their comfortable customer area and by noon, they had our vehicle diagnosed, installed a new coil, and bid us farewell with a very reasonable charge.Tino (technician) & John (front desk) were just great. If we lived in Flagstaff, we would have a very excellent service facility for our Toyota & Mercedes vehicles. No question.Leo & Yoli [email protected]
Tino, the owner, is very honest, does a great job, & is a straight shooter!
Took my car here, did an oil change, and replaced some front end components. They called and explained what they saw and recommended. Informed me of the cost and were within a dollar by the time I got my car. Everyone I interacted with was very polite and I will for sure be back. Great place to get my European car worked on.
I have been bringing my cars to Kens Import Service for years and they always provide excellent service. They are good diagnoticians and consistently communicate my options for repairs. They also stand behind their work and if something needs adjustment or replacement following a repair, they will fix it. Tino is the owner and very knowledgeable. I have brought Japanese and German cars to him and he knows them well.
They always provide great reasonably priced Serivce. In short the good, honest mechanics you want. Car turnaround time is usually a few days
These guys work on our 1980 air cooled Vanagon Bus and provide professional and honest customer service.
I recently had car trouble on the way from California to Pennsylvania. Kens was suggested to me as the place to go, and it turned out to be the truth! They were very understanding and accommodating, and above all knowledgeable. They had to wait for parts til the next day, so suggested a rental car place, and were very understanding when we had to wait to be picked up. They called promptly once they received the parts to let me know they were starting the work and had made some suggestions on where if we could travel in the meantime. They helped make my vacation a success. I couldnt have picked a better place!
Ken’s Service did exactly what I asked and at a reasonable cost.
It was Friday afternoon and we were 50 miles from Flagstaff, I received a drivetrain malfunction prompt on my dash and a loss of acceleration with my BMW X5. I contacted Ken’s Import and let them know I was on my way. I arrived at 3:30 pm and Tino helped me get vehicle diagnostic check performed (keep in mind it was Friday, they closed at 5 and they were already very busy). It turned out to be a bad ignition coil on cylinder 8. They put in a used one as they would not have a new one until Monday. Vehicle runs great!I would recommend Ken’s Import for any scheduled or non-scheduled service.
Kens Import Service had the knowledge and skill to repair my 1992 Mercedes 400E. Ive had a lot of experience with auto shops over the years, and am pleased to recommend Kens. They are courteous and take the time to explain in detail the work to be done. They dont do or recommend work that doesnt need to be done. Their prices are fair, and in my experience there, they didnt hit me with any surprises when it came time to pay the bill.
Always fair and honest. Cars are done on time. Friendly and courteous staff! Highly recommend their services!!
I trust and appreciate these mechanics to work in my Land Rover. They have been honest & efficient.
The staff at Kens Import is always great when I bring my 13 year old Saab in for service. They are quick to bring me in and work on my car. They explain to me in terms that I can understand what they have done and what needs to be done to keep me on the road and traveling. I recommend them to everyone! Thank you!
Professional work did great on my oil change but the customer service is rude which ruined my experience and my oil change did take a couple hours to get done.
I truly appreciated the crew going above and beyond to ensure my safety, even taking my groceries and I home.
They gave me call back on vehicle status
I recommend going to Kens Import Service. You wont be disappointed on their service. I was traveling from Connecticut to Grand Canyon and along the way my car broke down. (*fuel pump problems). I looked around and found a couple auto repair shops. Called every one of them for good prices on my car. These guys told me the price up front. Very Fair. I was shocked to see that their prices were lower than AutoZones fuel pump in town (which was kind of expensive). Fast workers, great price, and excellent work!
Amazing shop with great & quick service. Helped us out with our VW camper that was having some trouble on its way to the Grand Canyon. They even let our dog hang out in the waiting room. If you are driving an old Westy, this is the spot.
Great for both car maintenance and problems. Their knowledge shines through with every interaction.
Tino has always taken care of our 2 Jaguars and our Range Rover, hes the best!
Every time Ive brought in my VW Vanagon to there shop, it left better than it arrived. There specialist Timo is great! Lancelot.
They were faster and less expensive than I expected, and the problems were taken care of.
Great customer service and took care of my concerns right away. I will be using Kens Import Service again
Very helpful. Was travelling thru from Cali to Atlanta. Have me great kind service! Had Volvo mechanic to resolve my wired Volvo issues.
Evin is amazing
We’ve been using Ken’s for many years. Always reasonable, reliable, helpful, timely.
You dont have to go to Phoenix to get your German autos fixed. Fixing a German car is never cheap but Kens is better prices than the dealership and they do good work.
Ive brought my BMWs here for years. They have always done the work as promised when promised. Tino takes good care of our cars. Not sure why others didnt write favorable reviews.4/10/17 update: just brought in another car in for an oil change. They noticed I needed a routine brake fluid change, but unfortunately didnt have time to finish the job that day. They asked to hold the car overnight. The next am when it was done, they apologized and had washed my car for me. That was nice! Im still happy with the service here.
Unbelievable service despite other reviews I read. Tino worked on my late 80s VW and stayed 2 hours after the shop closed to get me on my way and able to travel home out of state. If you are in this area and in need of a qualified and experienced shop, this is the place.
Had a terrible experience with our mercedes at Kens. Our car is stone exterior with a beige interior. It is spotless. Kens allowed two employees to drive the car with no interior protection. The carpets were stained with grease and footprints. The interior surfaces were marred with grease fingerprints etc. The staining was on the drivers and passenger side. The car was in to have a hood latch repaired. There was no reason for the car to be driven.Worse... they nicked the driver;s side door and tried to hide the damage with touch up paint. They were very apologetic and referred us to a body shop for the repairs to fix the damage they had done. When they heard it would cost $475 (from the shop they chose) ... they stopped returning phone calls and refused to make the repairs.I recommend avoiding Kens Import if you value your car.
My boss and I were in town and had flat, the tire was off the rim and we were to far from the tire shop to drive there because the tire had come off the rim. The crew at Kens went out of their way to take care us and to make sure we got back on the road so we could get back to work. Thanks again for all your help.
The most disrespectful group of people I have ever experienced. I called the day before bringing my BMW in to make an appointment. I brought my car in at 9:00 am with only needing my headlight repaired. They told me to come back at 1 pm which I thought was long to begin with. It was until 4:30 that they gave me my keys. Thats 7 hours! My car wasnt fixed either, they told me the part needed to be order and wanted $86.64 for just looking at it! To top it off when I got upset, the front desk told me I dont understand the problem. I havent had a car in three years and Im able to support a wife and child. It is not ok to keep a car for 7 hours without proper communication. Then to be disrespectful and rude to my face in front of customers? Im never going back. I would rather spend the money to drive to Scottsdale for repairs.
My collage freshman age son was stranded 45 miles outside of Flagstaff. I called the owner and he said to have the car towed in and they would try and fix it the next day. I live in Tucson so I counted on them to do what they said. . They never returned my calls. They trashed the interior of the car trying to get to the battery in the rear hatch. They told me that the front differential was no good and I should just junk the 2004 BMW X5. They also said the battery went bad and I needed a new one. They never moved the car from the parking lot to put it on a lift. I asked if they would just give me a price to fix it and never did even after one week. I finally went there with a trailer and picked it up.The new shop in Tucson said the battery is fine and the only thing wrong was a cv joint. Please BEWARE of this shop for your NAU collage kid. They are very friendly on the phone but they are not out to help you.
Went in with what was thought to be a power steering pump issue that ive been driving on for a year. After there diagnosis and 4k estimate now my steering doesnt work at all.
This place is an ABSOLUTE RIP-OFF!!! $130 in labor +$15 to change brake fluid in my BMW! Why would I pay someone $155 to unscrew a cap, put brake fluid in, and screw it back?! Look online at your issues before you think about going to this place! I also had some diagnostic done on my car which costed over $150 and they didnt do anything to it! Id give 0 stars if I could.
This shop has the worst customer service, combined with the absolute worst treatment of the vehicle you could ever have. I was promised the vehicle would be kept in reasonably clean shape, it was not, the window was left down outside and it came back filthy.Tim has the worst case of bad attitude I have ever seen at a shop. I dont think his is even treatable. I was treated very poorly and berated in front of other customers. The repair costs are unreasonable, and $110/hour is more than my lawyer makes.Tino, the owner is a super nice guy, but beware the shop and Tim...Beware, you have been warned.
Thanks Ken’s import!
Friendly customer service and quality work on all my vehicles
Charges an absurd amount for used, junk yard parts. Takes advantage of you if youre unsure about the difficulties in your car. Charged $190 for a Lyft Driver inspection, which is FREE at nearly every chain in these United States. Look elsewhere for earnest work.
Friendly and honest service!
Really helped me out in a jam on a cross country road trip … was much much cheaper than it could have been (Audi’s can get $) and got back home without any further problems… thanks!
Great staff~ESPECIALLY Evin!!!!! He is Un Das Crusher of German cars!!!!! If it needs fixed & its German Evin IS the man!!!!!
Incompetent customer serviceAnd the mechanic lives in Colorado... for real! There is literally no one homeStay away!
Fixed my BMW really fast
Honest
Taking advantage of young female college students by doing unauthorized repairs and charging them for it. STEER CLEAR!!!
They are professional.
