I had a couple very good experiences with the shop. I have spent a lot of money with them. When I last picked up my car I asked if they had addressed the problem with the clutch and they said that it just needed to warm up and there was no problem. Didn’t sound right but I trusted them. Was able to drive the car twice before the clutch went out. I called and asked how they would compensate me because now the car would have to be towed in. They said they would not help me out. They continue to bombard me with service reminders while my car is stuck in my garage.

I had great experience. I had my tire error sign on for a while even with inflated tire. Gentleman who was was working was able to resolve the issue in minutes & did not charge me any thing. Highly recommended!

Been searching for someone local since the wonderful mechanic I’ve used for years & years is now retired. I’m looking for honesty, knowledge and affordability. Brakes starting making a horrible noise so I decided to give this place a try. David seems honest (Jury’s still out). So far, It seems that his tech did a very good job with the brakes (time will tell). Paid about $850 (not cheap but doesn’t seem too unreasonable). So far, so good!

Given the pandemic is still a big deal, this shop has done a great job of staying open and keeping you safe. It may not be the most convenient experience at the moment, but I think its for the best for everyone. You drop off the key in a box, they do the work, and when ready you pay online and just go pick up your car. Never do you have to be in direct contact with any other person.

Ive brought my Honda Pilot here several times. They gave a straight and clear diagnosis. I was able to make determine what tasks I could do on my own, replace shocks, struts, lower control arms, sway bar links, and brake pads . Then I would bring it in for the other tasks. I have had them troubleshoot and repair an issue of bad spark plugs. Next visit was timing belt and water pump replacement, it was due. They work with a car rental agency that bring a car for you to pickup/drop off at the shop.If your trying to find a shop that is not high price with a list of required tasks (dealership shops). If your trying to find a shop that you will not have to bring it in again for repairs of the repairs done or afraid to drive in the area or wonder if you will ever see your car again (local non-certified shops).David repairs on my vehicle are done right and they are fast for the tasks that are required.Toni explains clearly what the issues are and provides the information for me to make a decision on what needs to be done first.I will keep bringing in my vehicles here.

I brought my 1986 Toyota pickup Truck for a valve adjustment I paid them $350 they did not adjust my valves I took It to two different mechanics for a second opinion and they said they didnt. it sounds the same way I took it in. Very disappointed.

Replaced a bad wheel bearing. Accidentally replaced the wrong side but was very professional in handling the matter and replaced the correct side at no extra charge. I trust this shop because of professionalism and transparency like that and if the need arises, will return here for repairs.

Brought my 2011 Toyota Sienna here based on the reviews...its hard to find an auto repair shop with good reviews! All the oil had leaked out of my engine and with the car having almost 170,000 miles, I wanted to find a reputable place other than the dealership to take it to. Not that I have had any bad experiences with Toyota of Grapevine, I was just hoping to find an alternative to take my old workhorse to. In any case, Tony and Co. determined the issue (oil cooler hose) and I was up and running within a day. Great job guys!

JARS is a decent shop. i come here for oil changes (although i am car centric and not happy about their oil filter choices). They do good work but pricey.. they quote the highest pricing on a job before they do the work and if you do not research and go over the work, youll pay the full premium rate. Do your research, call around and know what your getting into before you get the quote. (Quoted around $600 for a driver side cv axle replacement, actual cost and time - 45 mins and $125 - 3 bolts to remove, a seal replacement and of transmission fluid replacement).

Ive been using this shop for a while now for our Sequoia, and recently bought a Lexus GS that ended up needing to be caught up on maintenance. These guys are honest and charge more than fair prices for the with they do. I really like the web system they use to share their report of your car. They send pictures and descriptions of every point they inspect so you better understand the services they may recommend.

I wish I could give this company a ZERO!!!My first time here because I thought it has ok reviews but didn’t notice the reviews were not recent.I was quoted a diagnosis fee of $115.I called & David says they couldn’t find the problem & need another $115 fee to continue to diagnosis to find the problem.What in the world?He says he found the problem; it’s not running.I said, I knew it was not running, that’s why it was towed here to find out why.Is this even legal?I will definitely find out from a judge!!!

I take my 3 cars, (2) F-150s and (1) BMW, to David and Mike regularly for over 3 years now. They do great work, do the repairs/job in a timely fashion, email and text you when the car is ready, send full reports with before and after images of the work done on the car, warrant their work and do it all for a reasonable price with an easy to read car health report. They will be fair and honest and have a nice waiting room that is pet friendly (important to me). They arent the cheapest, but they are also not the most expensive. They come in somewhere in the middle, but you never have to worry about the work and the customer service is among the best. Ive taken my cars to many shops, but none compare to their quality and service. Highly recommend. I even forgot my wallet one time and they trusted me enough to let me go and call in the payment.. given Im a regular, but still.. you get the old school handshake trust from a shop where these days can be hard to find in Dallas.

Tony was very helpful with my 1995 Tacoma. It is a sentimental vehicle to me and he took good care of it. The top to bottom inspection was awesome because it showed me everything that needs to be done in the future.

This is my first experience with Japanese Auto Repair. What a great find! These guys really know what they are doing. Had a check engine light on my 2016 Prius come on. Upon arrival at their shop, the first thing I noticed was that David, the owner, had all of his training certifications and credentials for Toyota up on the wall which gave me a high level of comfort. I also got a real feeling of trust when dealing with Tony who took care of me. These guys are honest and take the time to explain the issues. Their pricing was also very fair.I took it to them at 11am yesterday and they had me out by 5pm. I will be taking my Prius back to Japanese Auto Repair for any future work I may need.

Toni was very helpful and explained everything including the inspection fee (applies to repairs) and each step as he found our problem and before incurring further costs. Fixed our problem and costs were not beyond what we had expected and definitely within what they quoted us.Very professional and patient and made us feel like our car (and our money) was as special to him as it was to us.A little short-handed from the sound of it, but we still got next day turn-around.Well be back!

I get my oil changed here since the last place I went to regularly started to pressure me into repairs my car didnt need. Japanese auto repair has been friendly and helpful in making recommendation without any pressure, letting me leave without any extra services so I can research what I need done. When I do want extra services done I feel comfortable going back in to get them done.

Great Service, fast, and honest. They leave no stone un-turned. They fixed my AC just in the nick of time before Summer the same day so I didnt have to deal with the hassle of not having a vehicle.They even found a nail in one of my tires and patched that up for me. They wont do any other work without consulting you first and will tell you if work is necessary or not. Very good experience and refreshing to find a mechanic shop that is actually honest.

Horrible customer service. The guy at the front desk was rude from the get go which made me want to leave but due to needing to get my inspection done same day I decided to leave it there with them. I asked to get a call if any repairs needed to be done to approve pricing and never got a call until everything had been done already. It was only a light bulb but I knew that going in and asked them about it because I didn’t want to pay labor fees for a simple bulb replacement on a brake light. Never once asked me what kind of oil I used just went ahead and used whatever they thought best which I’m sure was the more expensive choice. When I asked to see the charges that were incurred I was told I couldn’t get a itemized receipt of the work until I paid. Would not recommend!

Fuel gauge was not working on my LX 470 Lexus and they fixed it in a half a day for 50% of the cost of Park Place Lexus. Saved me $500.Great place to take a car before buying for a through inspection with pictures and write up as well.

David and Michael (and their team) did a simply astounding job on my 2003 Infiniti G35.After the car was caught in a flash flood, they honestly told me the specific issue, which, in my case, thankfully led to an outcome MUCH less expensive than an engine replacement.Further, they performed a complete inspection, with photo documentation of anything else needing attention.Needless to say, Ill be back.

We have 3 cars and always seem to be having one of them serviced or inspected. This time, I had to reschedule an appointment (multiple times actually), and I was not pressured to get more work done than I wanted. The report was emailed to me so that I could review it on my time. They always remember me and inquire about my husband, who is usually the one to bring in the cars. I highly recommend Japanese Auto!

I got the feeling he was too busy to discuss the issue I thought my car had at the moment.So I took my car to All Star Japanese Engine & Auto Service where I received much better service. I took my Nissan Quest 12 for the scheduled maintenance. This was my first time taking this car to service, as its a new to me car. Anyways, I got a coupon on my mail from Japanese Auto Repair, and made a call. The gentleman that picked up the phone was very polite. I scheduled my visit, went there and everything was ran very smoothly. Honestly not cheap, but I understand imported cars are usually a bit more expensive to maintain. I will definitely take my car for service again.

I came from Dallas to have my Acura serviced. Everyone was so nice and and honest about what I needed done now and what could wait. They usually have a shuttle service for local drop offs, but they called an uber for me since I was going back to Dallas. Ill definitely be back!

Called Saturday and explained the problem I was having. The shop foreman told me he could get the part and repair the car but couldnt do it that day because it was close to closing. So I called up there today and an asian man answered the phone, was told he didnt have the part and hung up. Called back and tried to better explain myself but he didnt seem to care. Was told I would get a call back from the shop foreman (which I never did) sent my relative up there only for him to tell them they charge $100 to just look at the car. The problem my family member is having with their car is VERY hazardous yet this man doesnt seem to really care about potential customers or customer service. WILL not go there nor recommend anyone to.

The battery on the control fob to open/close and do a lot more things for my 2006 Toyota Prius finally ran out. Guess 10 years was enough. Mr. Lee ordered a new one (I replaced the one my wife uses as a precaution.) Took 2 business days to order and receive the new parts. Prius now running on its second decade with new control fob batteries. Service from Japanese Auto Specialist was, as usual, prompt and excellent.

Super over price! ridiculous price! my friend show me this paper to me. it shows when she visited japanese auto repair on 2013 someday to change oil and air filter. she arrived usa 2013. so she didnt speak english well. and also she is she... she was good food to over pay. they kidding her. impose total 85.51 labor 50.99 parts 34.52 as you can see picture.they are honest price? I never think so!

Not happy with results. Came in to fix failed clutch with no other problems. Got my car back with a rattling exhaust.
