A maintenance person entered my apartment without my knowledge while all my family was gone. My door was locked, but he came in anyway. When I talked with the office about it, they said that it is their policy that they not notify the renter unless specifically asked. I placed the work request through the front office, so I was never told that this request was necessary. In my lease, they are allowed to enter, but when I questioned this when signing my lease, I was told that the entry-without-knowledge provision was only in the case of emergencies. I view what happened as a breach of my privacy, a security risk, and a horrible policy on the part of Goldmark. Let those who are considering renting beware!

Rent was decent, apartment was decent. When it came time to check out and do the move out walk through, none of us who lived in the unit could be there due to COVID-19. We understood at first, but then a little over an hour and a half we got an email stating that we would be charged $175 for carpet cleaning which had already been done and $175 for five hours of cleaning after we had just spent a week cleaning ourselves. We had the carpets cleaned prior, and when we told them we had them professionally cleaned, they didn’t ask for a receipt for proof. My roommate called to inquire about these charges, and the man who was helping her said that they automatically charge for five hours of cleaning as a “worst case scenario” and go from there. I doubt they’ll look at the move in record where they marked all the previous damages, if they even have it on file. They’ve gone through a handful of management staff in the two years we lived there. Not to mention that Ive had packages opened in the mail room and left, weve complained about smoking in our building multiple times and nothing has been done, and they treated us like idiots every time something needed to be fixed. There is broken glass in the parking lot constantly. Sometimes kids ride their bikes through the hallway. Im just genuinely very upset that after two years of us being nice and understanding theyre still trying to take advantage of us. The only thing I can say thats nice right now is that Prince the maintenance guy is great. Also, as we try to get answers, Cate continues to not answer the questions asked and be generally very rude when emailing us. Including saying that we got a deal because she should have charged us for more.

Dynasty buildings apartment was nice and newly remodeled. Parking was not good, you get one garage and there are about 4-5 spots after that off to the side. Which I wouldn’t recommend parking because people will back into your vehicle. Also the fence at the end fell on my car during a storm - Insurance company of the building said there was no proof damage wasn’t there before the fence fell. After that we choose not to renew our lease.I believe management changed in the office halfway through our lease, which was a plus. She helped and made sure things in our apt got fixed asap.Over all the worst part about this building is the parking situation.

If you’re questioning whether or not to live at this place, it’s definitely worth it to spend more to live somewhere else.I currently have to email management for every single issue after calling and never having problems fixed. They recommended that I do this in order to be able to have at least some history of my complaints. Whether it’s parking, your neighbors, your OWN MAIL, they won’t do a thing to help you with any problems. I have been lied to (to my face and over the phone) by management, I have paid more than intended, I have been trying to be civil about these issues for months, and I am finally just done with this place.Last December there was an issue with them processing two of my checks within a couple days of each other instead of processing them on the correct dates. (Which would be the days they told me they processed checks when I signed the lease.) This resulted in over $250 of late fees. I paid it, and I don’t have any outstanding balances currently. I’m honestly not even that mad about the $250 I was out for Christmas, I’m just more mad I even lived here in the first place. This is worth mentioning though, if you do live here make sure you pay rent with a money order instead of checks. It’ll help you out more in the long run.I just asked them today when they would come clean my carpet from the flooding that occurred about 3 weeks ago now, and management told me they already did and that there’s no need for them to come here twice. Our apartment has been smelling for the past 3 weeks, and this is the treatment I get. They set up fans to help dry out the carpet, but I’m told that I’m lying when I try to get things done. This just isn’t worth the time or effort anymore to try to live here. Thankfully, we have taken our own measures to improve the carpeting situation at this point. I’m sure they will post a response to this saying that it was resolved, but I can assure you that it never was.I emailed them prior to posting this review letting them know it’d be 1/5 starts, with the only star going out to maintenance.I hope that my review can help future college students like me just save themselves a BIG HEADACHE.

Apartment staff is nice and buildings are nice for the price. Neighbors are uncivilized. They leave their full garbage bags in the hallway for weeks at a time and no matter what apartment staff try to do about it, they continue to do so. Continuous noise from most neighbors ranging from stomping and screaming to extremely loud music. I’ve also had personal property stolen from our garage as well as packages stolen from our mail. Until they find a way to filter out the bad neighbors, skip this one.

The apartments themselves are nice in the inside, affordable, and nice staff. However the neighbors and community are terrible. Weve had things stolen from our garage, mail stolen twice, and neighbors throw trash everywhere in the apartment hallways and leave it there for weeks. It is constantly noisy with people and kids running around the halls yelling.

Danielle helped me find an apartment that met my needs within my budget. It was truly hassle free working with her and Danbury. I will be recommending everyone I know looking for a home to Danbury.

I take pride in this community; Saturday while cleaning my windows 1 thing led to another... I noticed some trash left in the hallway and cleaned it up. Next I noticed a disconnected rain gutter and reconnected it. This is my small way of saying thanks to the hard work and inspiration I get from our maintenance team (CRAIG) who cannot be everywhere at all times (though sometimes it seems he is asked to be). I have been here 4 years and take pride in the community

I would read this real thoroughly should you be considering any place managed by Danbury, or Goldmark as a whole.Let’s start at the very beginning, checking the place out. It seemed pretty nice, plenty of space, nice location, it needed a few things fixed and cleaned up but we were assured it would be taken care of. We advised our rental agent that we would not be able to move in until our lease was up at our current place because we did not want to double pay.He was understanding, said we would fill out paperwork and if we needed to move dates around due to not being able to get out of our current lease a month early, we could do so. We filled out the application, got approved for it immediately, and then I tell him we cannot get out of our lease early so we will have to change the move in date. He says we already got approved for the date a month early than we were actually ready to move in. I asked about the whole, move dates around thing he mentioned. In which he falls back on “Well you already signed the lease” and “We can’t let it go unrented for the whole month.” In which they graciously offered half off the month of rent we never agreed upon.I guess they had us backed into a corner at this point, through blatantly lying to us. So we accepted their offer. We asked about possibility of moving stuff into the garage prior to move in date. We were told no, it was a liability issue and the unit needed to be cleaned. Okay, whatever, we went to get the keys on the 1st. We were also asked to provide information on our vehicles, I knew mine but my girlfriend did not know her plate since it was a new vehicle. We were told not to worry about it, we can get back to that. Well, we should’ve worried about that. The garage was still filthy. It was unswept and still had the massive oil spill in it and the hole in the front of the garage the size of a baseball. Obviously no one had been in to inspect or clean it. It had graffiti on the walls, “666” pentagrams, and a couple other things I can’t recall. On top of that the drywall they used to separate the different garages was damaged and clearly had been water damaged. This should’ve been a sign.My first run in with another tenant in the building, we talked about the garage problems. They said they weren’t surprised, there’s always issues and come winter the driveway rarely gets plowed and is constantly icy. Great to know, I was hoping they were just bitter and overdramatized the situation. Sadly I came to find that was not the case.Moving in:We wanted to back up a Uhaul to the garage and just quickly unload everything from the truck we were renting right into the garage. Then we could’ve brought it inside out our leisure and without paying to rent the truck longer than necessary. We didn’t want to throw a bunch of our stuff in a garage they didn’t clean being as we wanted them to covered up the graffiti and clean up the mess. We were told that someone would come out and fix the issue. Great, you knew weeks in advance and couldn’t take time to fix it prior? Due to this instead of easily dumping all our stuff into the garage, we had to move all of our possessions inside. Then move it back into the garage once they took care of the mess. Doesn’t sound like a big deal, but walking a box at a time through 2 secured doors and down some stairs takes way more time and is way more aggravating. They wouldn’t give us any compensation for not taking care of the apartment so it was actually move in ready when my lease started. What should have taken us 3 hours maybe took about 9.On top of that when we move in, we have to make numerous phone calls to fix things over and over. Our building/apartment constantly smells like weed. They towed our car while we were running errands without even a call.It gets much worse, but I have hit character limit. Can message me if you want more details.

I would give zero stars if it were an option. As the other users explain, this place is just our for one thing: money. Poor maintenance, anytime we put in an order to fix something, we came home and it was not done. Our toilet seriously ran for 18 months. Management is fake nice, but as one user said they are also not pleasant to work with. We also had extra fees upon move out due to poor communication by management. I will never deal with a large company like this after this experience. Go with independent landlords, at least they have hearts.
