Awesome place. Tons of bouldering problems, and tons of top rope, and lead climbing routes! Nice gym areas as well. Staff is excellent. Very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Theyre great about social distancing guidelines. There is a max capacity, and all climbers wear masks at all times. We feel very safe while were there.

We had a blast doing the belay course! The facility is very nice - clean, open, and well maintained. All of the staff members we interacted with were very friendly and helpful, especially Julia who was a great instructor. After doing our course, we got the orientation to the entire facility and were allowed to go off on our own to climb and explore. It was a fun afternoon activity, a great workout, and well definitely be going back for more.

Great family gym - they’ve got all the climbing styles well represented, as well as an area for strength conditioning, cardiovascular, and yoga. They also have programming for children and those who want to get more involved with outdoor climbing.

I brought my toddler here to climb earlier. They have autobelay courses which were a little too advanced for her but also bouldering which might have been okay if she were bigger. The staff, specifically Jen, was very patient and accommodating and even though it was a bust I’m so glad we came here! It was affordable, and not too busy. We will definitely be back someday!

Fantastic gym. Really good space with a ton of walls for bouldering and rope climbing, lots of angles, interesting aspects, new holds. A full Kilter Board! Really really great setting--truly some of the best bouldering setting Ive climbed anywhere.Love the mask policy--they asked me for proof of vaccination then let me climb maskless.

Phenomenal place to take your child. I was so proud of my son when he kept progressing to new heights. All of the regulars were really supportive of him as well. He ran around the place a bit and some of them played with him which made us both feel very welcome. They are constantly switching up the rock walls to give variety. Plenty of parking outside and the staff is informative and tentative. They even have a gym if your looking to stay fit while picking up a new hobby. I would have joined but I work out at 5 am and they don’t open until 7 am. My schedule wouldn’t allow it but if my son continues to show interest I will be getting a membership and climbing up walls and be laying down!

Definitely a great place. I feel they could be a bit more creative with the walls and obstacles but otherwise really good all rounder. Theyve got plenty of variety in how you can climb. If you are new or want to climb they have 10 autobelays

On Sunday we took our son to try rock climbing for the first time. We were told that our daughter had to wear a mask to enter. I explained to the man at the desk that she was only one year old and he rudely told us that there was no exception to the rule even though CDC guidelines clearly state that children under the age of 2 should NOT wear a mask. My husband and daughter had to wait in the car so that my son could still enjoy rock climbing. Perhaps the staff should brush up on CDC guidelines and reevaluate how they talk to paying guests.

Purchased punch pass for climbing during COVID time, Im also a resident physician with unpredictable duty hours. Was hoping to climb at a window that overlaps their designated sessions but was told that Ill have to pay for two punch passes even if I only stay a total of 1.5 to 2 hrs. This is despite they have over 25 slots available and would in no way exceed their capacity limits. The day passes should not be marketed as day pass if they are only good for one session. People who cant travel to this gym has to get day passes instead of a membership but its disheartening how this company supports health care professionals, while trying to convince me that they have the best prices? The capacity limit is a rule to help protect the community not your excuse to rip off your guests

Great place to spend an afternoon. reasonably priced per day. rentals are cheap. membership is a good way to save some money if you plan on going more than once a week. I love the environment here its unlike a lot of other places where you would go to work out. There is an air of immediate friendship when you and another person get stuck on the same wall and puzzle it out together. They have weekly meetups if you are looking for a partner to climb with which I highly recommend, but you can alway rent a coach to belay you as well. All skill levels are welcome and you will definitely find something you can climb weather you need something as easy as climbing a ladder or you want to push yourself on the lead wall.

Love this place, eager to see the improvements done! It would be nice if I could go to the gym before work, there are no gyms open in this area earlier than 10am. Id be willing to bet you would get more business opening at 6am (even 5am) instead of 10am. Be the first to do it!

Had a lovely belay class with Jose as the instructor. Clear concise instructions, friendly, personable and easy to work with. Come back a week and a half later for the test, and the instructor I worked with a) gave me a harness that didn’t fit and b) failed me because I couldn’t provide the answers she wanted in the format she was looking for. Despite the fact that how she was asking questions was not the same way that it was taught. If your expectation is that people will be perfect at something after a single demonstration and practice session, then maybe you shouldn’t be teaching or testing in the first place. I have zero desire to ever try climbing at this facility again, and honestly have lost much interest in trying rock climbing at all. Thanks for that.

Ive been to over fifteen climbing gyms, including out in the western states where they are often quite large with many amenities. This stacks up with the best in terms of the volume of climbing available, and the prices are better than those huge gyms out west. I was surprised to see people calling it overpriced. This place is great with managing the younger population in the gym. Sometimes I dont notice that the team practices are on because they dont take over the place. The only bit of feedback I have is that I wish new boulders got set more frequently. I recently was gone for over a month and came back to what appeared to be the (exact?) same set...maybe the top rope and lead wall were getting more attention? Also, given that the autobelays upstairs see so much traffic, it would be nice if they were set more frequently.

Do not let your kid do this. My daughter was at a party here and they simulated a free fall and she hit her leg on a metal bar on the way down (no helmet on either). Completely irresponsible to do something like that in an area where she can hit things. We will never let her go to a party here again. Staff were not sympathetic.

This is verifiably the worst climbing gym I have ever been to. Somehow they manage to create the most fundamentally un-fun climbs imaginable. I can’t remember the last time I actually enjoyed climbing while at RCF. Every boulder problem is just a collection of moves I never really want to do. Bump left hand 3 times in a row, dyno across a flat wall, match vertical pinches with bad feet...etc. I’m not saying that the problems are hard, if anything RCF has a softer grading system than other gyms. It’s just every time I realize what the next move is I sigh because I don’t want to do it. Add in the fact that kids are running everywhere and yea this gym is trash

I took my daughter there this past weekend for a father/daughter day before she goes back to school. We worked with Ana for about an hour and had a lot of fun. She was a great instructor for me and my daughter who is 5.The place is well run, everything appears in great condition, the staff are encouraging, helpful, knowledgable, and above all patient and professional. Were looking forward to getting a family membership and making RCF a weekly activity. If youre on the fence about whether or not its for you, Id say give it a try. There is no pressure to do anything youre not comfortable doing, and all the encouragement to get you to the finish line if when you think you may be in over your head.

I checked this place out for the first time today and couldn’t be happier with what I encountered! I’m an amateur climber who is absolutely petrified of heights, but loves being a thrill seeker who tries to push past my fears in any way, shape, or form. This place has it all! They have all sorts of walls and obstacles to climb as well as a cardio section and gym! The staff was insanely friendly, genuine, motivational, and helpful in not only getting me started, but also by pushing me to my absolute limits and getting me closer to overcoming my fear. Thanks Andrew! You guys rock 🤘🏼🧡

Great location, good facilities, very cold over winter (saving on heat?) dusty as hell, if you have allergies, definitely skip it. Management is horrible, Alicia the manager (not a climber) makes all efforts to ensure her insurance guidelines are met, which is OK if her blunt rudeness wouldnt kill the whole climbing experience. My opinion? Look for someplace else where the climbing experience is number one goal, from climbers to climbers.

How can you review a family? How can you quantify some of the best times of your life with a few gold stars?Ive been climbing at Rock Climb Fairfield since it grew out of the previous gym Carabiners. While I admit in full disclosure, I used to work at Carabiners. I can tell you first hand, how improved the climbing, the management, the facility and overall experience has become and continues to improve. Ive been climbing for decades now and have climbed all over this great nation and Im proud to call RCF my home gym. The holds and volumes are quality and recent, the indoor terrain interesting, the setting is challenging and spans a great range of difficulty. In addition, Ive recently enrolled in some personal training, and while I could always open even the most stubborn of jam jars, Ive seen some amazing gains in overall strength, flexibility and health. The weight room has a great range of heavy things, equipment and supplies for nearly any routine.Lastly, its the community that I love the most. Ive met some of my best friends through this gym that have enriched my life in countless ways. I consider RCF to be a part of me, that makes me healthy, happy and fulfilled. Big thanks to Matt and the entire staff for making RCF such a great place.

Great to see this gym under new ownership and moving in a great direction. Staff seems awesome and facilities are improving. Routes could still use some work (ie footchips). Hopefully on the list are some quality hold purchases over the long run. . . The original owner bought 100s of the cheapest holds he could find and they leave a lot to be desired for the veteran climber. Would be cool to see them sell off the junk and slowly get more new holds and focus on higher density of routes on their walls (maybe switch to taping all routes).Go Vertical used to have a huge climbing community supporting it... would be cool to see that sort of thing grow around this gym now that the old owner and manager are gone.

Great Facility. The best I have seen on east coast. I live in NYC so i climb brooklyn boulders, chelsie piers, new rochelle gym and a bunch in nj. The fairfield carabiners gym has the best lead section, very diverse and lots of routes. Decent bouldering sections (should be much improved summer 2012 with expansion) and probably 100 of top roping sections.I am primary a lead so this gym is perfect for me. The staff is awesome. The vibe in the gym is very positive and healthy. Love this place! They have some crack climbing (i have not seen this in any gyms before) great for real deal trad climbing! You name it they got! Route setting is also sick, very diverse and stuff gets changed up at a good pace. Unlike Chelsie Piers once a year...
