Yesterday was my first visit to Andrew Taylore Hair Design. The feeling, even before entering the salon, is relaxed and inviting - the small patio outside the entry contains flowers, greenery, two wrought iron chairs and a little table - lovely! I was greeted warmly as soon as I walked in. The shampoo woman (Myrna?) - was fantastic - it was a shampoo and scalp massage. Darlene was my stylist; she studied my face, studied my hair, asked how I wanted it to look. She is thorough, and exacting in her standards - nothing less than perfect will do! When she had finished drying and styling my hair, I was astonished - its been decades since I have been so pleased with a cut! She is extraordinary. I am a fan for life! - most highly recommended!

My preferred stylist is Amy, who does great things with long hair. I am an older woman, dealing with the gray hair I want to pretend I dont have. Amy has figured out the right color tint so that my hair looks really natural, and each time, the gray is completely covered. I have also gotten full or partial foils there twice, and both times, the highlights and lowlights came out really beautiful, and looked really natural. Amy has been great about suggesting slight color changes to help me keep away from the gray more, and which also help me to go longer between appointments, since I am on a budget. They have trimmed my hair a couple of times, too, and when I ask Amy to take off a quarter of an inch, she takes off a quarter of an inch (not the inch and a half so many other places try to do). If I need a trim, she will let me know, and if not, she does not recommend one. I believe they give me the straight information on what is best for my hair. I stumbled upon them a year ago, and keep coming back, because I am always happy with the services I receive there.

The staff are very professional customer oriented. I came away with the best hair cut I have ever gotten. I needed a perm and the result is lovely curls. My hair has never been so soft after a perm. The staff really went above and beyond to see that I was comfortable throughout this process. I could not be happier! I unreservedly recommend this salon. Darlene cut and styled my hair and Aby assisted with the shampoo and perm.

Amy was amazing. I have wanted a wavy bob cut for years but no one ever understands my hair, so I was hesitant. A friend recommend her and it is seriously the best haircut I have ever gotten. The salon is very nice and very clean as well.

What a wonderful, calming place to spend some time. Haircut and pedicure, Amy and Nicole were both professional, and very aware of the safety issues that are so necessary today. I would highly recommend. Actually 5 of my neighbors go to this salon, and we have all been going for years. I know they are always open for new customers too, and their Covid 19 guidelines for safety very seriously.

I was long overdue for a change. I have a lot of very fine straight hair that I was wearing in a shoulder length straight cut. I made an appointment with Darlene, just wanting a change, hoping she would know just what I needed/wanted because I had no idea. She took the time to play with my hair, see how it hung, she asked how I styled it etc and then she truly worked magic on both my highlights and the cut.

My daughter had her long hair cut short, and donated her locks. Amy was excellent throughout her cut!

I went into Andrew Taylore this morning to donate my hair to Locks of Love. I showed up a bit early, and I was offered coffee or tea while I waited.I was extremely nervous because I have always had long hair, and I was going to have to cut off 10 inches to donate. I had Darlene who has 40+ years experience and it showed. She was amazing. I have a very VERY round face and she managed to make me look great!Before she started cutting my hair, Darlene talked with me in depth about what I wanted, then pulled out some magazines to show me what it would look like. I felt very prepared for the change and at ease once we talked about it. Having good stylist-customer communication is really important, because if you both arent clear what you want, it will turn out terrible. Thankfully, mine looks great.Overall, I LOVED my haircut and I am making this my new salon and telling all of my friends to go here. It is close to George Masons campus, so I would recommend that all students go there!

Everyone at the salon is a pleasure to work with and very helpful. Arlenes the highlight of the experience. Ive used Arlene for many years and she knows exactly what to do. We have gone through different hair styles and she always knows how to take what Im trying to describe and turn it into a cut that works for my hair. I bought a groupon for deep conditioning and hair styling and was so excited since the reviews for this place were 4.9 stars. What could go wrong right?The place is clean and Staff there makes you feel welcoming. I am giving one star because when I went home after a hair cut, I realized the hair wasnt even anywhere when i tried to make a pony tail and also my bangs fell flat. I was so disappointed. I had to make another hair cut appointment at another place to make all my hair even and ended up paying another $85 which is ridiculous according to me.I am not sure if the reviews are great because of other members and the lady who cut my hair was sweet and kind. So, im giving one star for their lack of experience. Dont go here just because its cheaper. Lastly, im not even sure if the deep conditioning did any good to my hair.

SO happy with my recent color and cut at ATHD! Colleen colored my hair and then did some type of magic highlights with dye! Then Darlene gave me a sassy holiday cut. Love this place!

Nicole has done fantastic job of getting nails back in shape. No longer adding band-aids to await new growth. Feel as I can face the public again. All all other staff very friendly and helpful. Steps down are difficult but can be done for most.

I receive facials on a regular basis and can honestly say Rehana provided the best facial I ever received. She not only gives a facial, she also takes the time to go over and educate you on your skin. This place is a little hard to find but Rehana makes it worth it.I went back a second time and Rehana provided another service which is the ultrasonic and spa facial. Immediately I noticed that my sagging jowls were lifted and lines smoothed out. I decided to use the customized skincare line. I used in the past but used the antiaging line. Rehana explained that I really didnt need everything from that corrective series and mixed the skin brightening and antiaging lines to give me a while skincare regime for my skin that would last for 3 months (Ive used these products in the past and they do last) and the cost was still under $200.

New customer and had a wonderful first experience with Amy. The location is hard to find, but well worth the visit!
