Love that its 24hrs. But the place is crammed and not as clean as it used to be. Could use an upgrade!
Our family has been members several times. And because of the lack of competition in town (24hr gym), we find ourselves back again. They sold us on the pool (pretty hard to find in fbx), night gym, and tanning beds @ both facilities.I really hate posting this, but it seems the facility is being abandoned. The tanning bed in the 24 hr gym has been inoperable since we signed up in yhe spring. The bathroom is consistently dirty- not new acute messes, rather dust bunnies allowed to accumulate until they reach sweater making proportions. The urinal is sharp to your nose, and by the time youre done- your eyes sting. The water fountain / bottle refiller looks ... contagious. There is a whiteboard for members to write concerns on- which routinely gets cleaned. Be the issues never really seem to be addressed.Equipment problems are not the issue here. Sure, there are a few machines in various stages of maintenance- but I can accept that. A month ago, my wife and I had a trip to Anchorage and went to Alaska Club West (also 24hr) down there. We were somewhat emotional when it came time to leave... straight up sad actually- because what we pay monthly (family platinum- close to $200) would is TOTALLY worth it in anchorage- absolutely beautiful facilities with up-to-date machines... and CLEAN TOO.
Forced to shower and shave under filthy conditions. Skin droppings in the showers, grease stains on the walls, hairs all over the floor of the showers. Toilet overflowing onto the floor because the staff refuses to maintain it. Very gross conditions to shave shower and use the restroom under. Old refused machines, not properly maintained. Not a good club for the money, rudeness and hostility directed towards the patrons.
I just really wish there was a salt water pool! I havent got to swim in 10 years was thinking bout switching from planet fitness to Alaska club but the reviews are not so great at all and I cant afford 50+ in hidden fews
Well equipped for a small location.
Best gym in town! New management has really helped turn it back into an enjoyable place to be.The cleaners are busy everywhere you go inside and are very considerate of members. Cassandra gave us a thorough tour and was very knowledgeable about all of the recent upgrades. Our interaction with her was very pleasant, never pressured. So happy to be back!
Its a good 24hr gym limited and weird due to covid sitch.
West location is a very nice small gym perfect for on-the-go workouts . Iv been a memeber for years!! The only concern is, that the SO called MANAGER at the west club. Does NOT DO HiS JOB. Only thing iv seen him do is pick up the hand towels and even then he leaves all the dirty towels in the basket for days., only 10 new towels a day!!! The cleaning Ladys keep the gym usually clean. West club (needs new management) ... SOUTH club is amazing.
They lie through their teeth about membership & wont give any info over the phone. Some staff good, some very douchy & unprofessional. Outrageous monthly fees, triple that of any comparable NICE club Ive been a member of. Their west location is not staffed- what kind of business practice is that!?!? They said no one under 18 is allowed there, as kids were doing drugs in the bathroom. Are there no idiot adults!?!? Maybe have a staff member there!?!? Morons. Kids need showers too.. maybe take responsibility for your business & its locations & what goes on there.. until then, dont bother considering this place as a gym or showering option. Ridiculous!!
Wonderful place to work out
They won’t even give you membership price ranges over the phone. Who has time to drive across town just to hear prices?
Turf room is no longer as the trampoline buisness now occupies space but no price drop, chronic broken steam room, overcrowded locker room, inconsistent group workout instruction. We are thinking of cancelling membership as its lost value for our family.
My favorite gym
Small gym with all the necessities.
Clean
