Doing a great job with Covid-19 restrictions. Plenty of machines and equipment to work out on.
Fun place they have a giant out door climbing wall. On the inside they have a nice gym, more climbing walls, basketball courts, and ice rink. The best part you dont have to be a student to be a member to the rec center. The prices will also not break the bank.
They do most things very well, but I have to say its hard not to play basketball one on one with your friend and just shoot hoops.
I will always love this place.
Great place. Usually quiet.
Fun place to go to and has a lots of food and you can play basketball and a bunch of other sports
Good place to chill
Outstanding museum on Alaska native cultures. Plan to spend an entire day--you will not be bored. Films, displays, guided tours, visuals, hands-on science center for kids and adults. They shooed us out at closing time.
Great place prices are reasonable well balanced equipment and nice people
Tons of parking but the walks are atrocious.
So much snow 😍
Great place to work out. Im a fan of the stair machine and the one here is pretty nice. But overall great facility.
Great view of the town. Campus is clean and quiet.
The Governor likes to give UA full funding. NOT
If youre a student this is definitely a great place to workout, with three open courts for various sports, an indoor track, and a small weight room it definitely fills your workout needs.
My niece sure enjoyed the games.
Great college. Awesome research programs.
Looking for cultural heritage? Then this is the place to go. Wonderful exhibits
Well rounded gym. The showers are pretty slimy and gross.
GREAT!!
Easy to get to. Even in summer lots going on. Convenient to other events in Fairbanks.
Not a student, there is a public sled hill great for a quick break. Its nothing intense but super fun for children and adults; lackluster for thrill-seekers.
Because I keep it nice and clean to the fullest!!
Pretty cheap membership especially if you live with a student. Gym is fine enough has a little of everything.
Im updating this review because the SRC had updated their gym. Bafflingly, as if it were 2005, the gym has converted the weight room (which previously hosted dumbbells, barbell and plate loaded weight lifting) into (Im being serious here) a crossfit gym. They displaced all the typical weight lifting equipment with 8 power racks and then sprinkled Olympic platforms in the free ground space. The weightlifting gear was relegated to the corners of the indoor track and for all intensive purposes does not work anymore (you literally have to circle the track several times for a lifting routine now). My only guess is some guy with purchasing power likes CrossFit and basically said to heck with everyone else, Ill do what ok want.I would not pay to go here now. Even though my membership is paid for Im still looking at leaving due to this silliness.**My previous 3-star review**Things here are basic and mostly compete. Theres nothing new, nothing nice, but there is enough to stay in shape. Unfortunately if something breaks its going to be a very long time before it gets fixed, but most of the equipment is tough.A word of caution, theres a lot of young guys (specifically) that lift with terrible form, loudly, and dont understand what they dont understand... If you get what Im saying. Unfortunately I have to mention that, but you can avoid the childishness by staying away from peak hours.
Beautiful museum with lots of Native items. Love the gift store!
Busy rec center bought with student fees. To my knowledge was the first UAF building bought in this fashion. Created the precident for the University to steal from the pockets of students when they decide to shirk responsibilities of building facilities.
The Museum of the North is fabulous.
History galore !!!You can learn much by visiting . The early history of development of the world, people, especially the Alaskan area . You need to be a sponge to absorb all you will see .
Nice gym with good weight room and basketball courts. Prices are not great.
Great place and friendly people.
Museum of the North is very well designed. Also walked through the experimental garden.
Great museum. Loved it
An ok place. Things dont get fixed very fast and they are missing some basic equipment, but other than that it works ok for weights and cardio.
Student run so mediocre on most aspects, rock wall has some lame routes but otherwise a fine facility
A great place to climb when rain outside
Ran out of time. So much to see.
Very friendly and has a lot of different options
Nice gym. Has new weights and a rock wall!!
