Nice gym, very clean. I come from Staten Island NY. Been good to planet fitness for years. This fairbanks location has everything you need, coming from my old location, the machines here are very basic compared to the ones I used to use. Dont get me wrong these work just fine and after using them a few times, they will do....but the old Machines I used in NY, the quality of the machines were night and day. I will continue coming back here as it serves its purpose.

By far the best quality package you’ll find in Fairbanks at the lowest price. The equipment is newer and there’s a good variety. The Team here has been EXCELLENT throughout the covid pandemic with cleaning machines consistently and ensuring safety while allowing us still to stay healthy and move our bodies. There are tanning beds and massage chairs included in the membership, as well!My only complaint is that since this is such a great deal, it is almost always very busy. The best time that I’ve found to workout is in the early mornings - but it’s still quite busy even at 5 Am!

Very clean gym. Spacious and plenty of room to exercise.

Terrible management and bad business plans. Told the employee a week in advance we’d just need a gym pass for a week and she checked, double and then TRIPLE checked that it would be $10/day with no extra fees. Come to find it’s a $50 application fee that was hidden. On top of that the employee working the desk had a “rules trump customers” mentality. We’re a pretty unique situation but normal or not, this is a business. And this business failed to put the customer first. Found 4 other gyms around that could HAPPILY accommodate our situation and had the sense of business to hear us out. Does policy and rule win? I’d say the customer should.

I used to work at this location, and continue to work out after my employment here. From behind the counter, to the bench - the gym is practically spotless. If a machine is damaged, they are quick to fix it. Their prices are extremely hard to beat - especially since they include personal training at no extra costs, no matter what membership you choose. Might I add, the personal trainer, Kendra, is extremely down to earth and holds a solid level of integrity. If you’re looking to work here, this is a great job if you have a great work ethic. As a member, I appreciate a clean gym and helpful staff - and that is the definitely the goal for this gym. This is not the gym to go if you have a huge ego on shoulder; which is something I thoroughly enjoy about Planet Fitness. The staff is committed to making sure you are comfortable within reasonable limits, and they do not tolerate gym bullies. This is the perfect gym to go to if you’re just starting out, or looking for a place that is free of “gym drama.” If there is any “drama” the PF staff is quick to weed it out, and stop the issue. 👍🏼👍🏼

Great gym, great staff, clean and well lit. The guests are polite and its not a campy meat market atmosphere. Only downside is the $12.00 fee for towel rental. That is excessive.

I lived in alaska two years ago. I canceleld my gym membershio. Fiund out from my bank now, that under a different name planet fitness has been charging my bank account different amounts for all the past two years. I have called and tried to cancel multiple times but everytime they say oh we dont have a record for you. Well i have been keeping a phone record and email record. Also they want me to cancel at that specific planet fitness, i live 3,000 miles away. Dont go to planet fitness. When i calle my bank they said i was not the only one, and that there were several lawsuits against planet fitness now. Dont trust them i signed up for the black card. 10 dollars a month. When i cancelled two years ago till now they have charged my account over 2,000 dollars. Shouldnt it be 240 dollars. Anyways dont join. Please dont or youll never get out

The hours needs to be specified. On Monday the gym says it’s open but they have people waiting and standing outside thinking they’re going to get a workout in. It’s best to come at a later time if you’re a early morning person

I love this gym! It has everything you could need to get a great workout! The only thing I wish they had would be a scale so people could track their performance. But this definitely does not take away any stars from them!

The new trainer, Kendra, is amazing. Best trainer Ive worked with, hands down. Incredibly positive, encouraging, and very sweet. She took the time to understand my chronic conditions, and help me develop workout plans around my disorder. Planet fitness had better do whatever they can to keep her, because she is amazing!!!

Great facility and staff. Parking could be improved and the new check-in system by smart phone only is annoying. I dont always want to bring a smart device on me. I miss being able to use a the member barcode off a Keychain card. It should be optional. Besides that I love the cost and equipment and full-body massage chairs!

I just left the service and needed to find an affordable gym which allows me to keep in shape. Planet Fitness offered access to good gym equipment for a price totaling less than $30.00 a month. Based on the times Ive been in there, everybody generally does the right thing and practices good gym etiquette. Definitely would recommend to others.

We only used the shower facilities here. Had to get a day pass for 10$. Very clean and spacious shower area.

Spotless gym with a large amount of machines and free weights. Tanning, hydro massage, and total body fitness all included in the black membership. Great local gym!!

Moved out of state, the closest planet fitness is 2 hours away. I’ve sent 3 different letter requesting to close my account. I’ve spoke to McKenzie at the front desk, I’ve asked to speak to manager Susan. I’ve gotten no response, they’ve put multiple notes under my account that I’m trying to close it but no one will just hit the deactivate button on my account. They’ve been pulling money out of my bank every month, all I want is my damn account closed!!!!

Straight forward, the gym equipment is typical planet fitness 5 star but leaving a 2 star rating because the front desk is a gym vibe killer and feels like the damn “planet fitness principals.“ I’ve traveled to over 15 different locations all over the country & the Fairbanks one is a freaking strict joke. If you’re an actual lifter, go and feel their eyes watching you. Might even feel them breathe down your neck of you’re lucky.

I love the gym. Super clean but having issues with harassment and racial profiling through management since COVID opening concerning mask. There have been very rude comments made and inappropriate tones that have put me in search of another gym. I used to think I was overthinking or reading into encounters too much but Ive recently run into others with the same perspective. It just doesnt feel like a judgment free zone. Love the gym but need new management.

The hours are great, equipment is maintained. All the way up to the manager, except for one or two employees who I’ve known before their employment, I wouldn’t boast of their friendliness. In fact I’d bet on their desire for you to leave as quickly as possible. I imagine they don’t treat their employees all that well

Covid has taken away most of their services, but the gym is still open. They do not require you to wear the mask while actively working out. But they do want you to wear it when switching between stations.

I joined the gym in 2015 and recently moved to Anchorage. It was clean throughout that time, and folks were, for the most part, kind and helpful.In spite of COVID-19, there is a policy in place requiring folks to visit in-person, provide a doctors note stating that you are immunocompromised, or physically send a piece of mail to their address to cancel your membership. I didnt appreciate being told any of the above when I tried to call and cancel my membership like folks generally do in the 21st century. I suggest offering a cancellation option online or over the phone in the very near future.You should see my letter in the mail soon (:

Ive had to switch to Alaska club due to the change of hours. I am a care giver and I can not make it to the regular hours of business, I was happy with the service when I was able to go but the fact that they are not 24hrs any more is what made me change.

I really like this gym. Open and staffed 24 hours a day means I can go late after the rush and take my time working out. Its a smaller gym but they have lots of equipment and doubles of most machines so theres rarely a wait for equipment when I go. Really clean facilities and friendly staff. The parking lot is a little small and the spaces are super narrow but its a great place to workout.

5 stars for this part : Awesome if you just need a shower pass! Cheap and fairly clean. Used to use them when I had a dry cabin.1 star for this part: I could never workout there. Between the purple and yellow ridiculous color scheme and silly workout rules I thought it was a joke. I was glad when the day came that I did not have to see the inside of that place ever again.

Great price, good customer service and nice facility. However, please expand!!! It would be so nice to have a location in North Pole or even another location in Fairbanks.

All kinds of equipment and plenty of room to use it in, not to mention the massage-beds, -chairs, and tanning booths. There is also a very friendly atmosphere as you walk thru the door. The treadmills also have T.V.s to watch.

They just remodeled so the facility still needs a little bit of touch up, but the equipment isbkept clean and the staff is very helpful.

The staff here sucks one of the girls thats been here for a while is honestly the rudest person I met in my entire life. And there payment system is all messed up I have changed my auto debit 2 times but it doesnt save then you have to deal with the B at the counter to fix it. A decent budget-friendly gym. If you are wanting to tone up or lose weight, they have tons of treadmills, elliptical machines, stationary bikes and weight machines to help you reach your goal. If you are want to build muscle and bulk up, they have exactly four cages in the whole facility and you will be at the mercy of the crowd.

Outstanding Employees but they always overdraft my bank account

2.5 stars. Some of the members have no gym etiquette whatsoever. They will take 3 machines/cables hostage for sometimes 40 plus minutes. If you ask if you can work in with them on a machine or cable, some will not only say no but give you a dirty look. So much for judgement free. On a positive note, PF has a ton of cardio equipment.

I love Planet Fitness. I have been a member for over a year and after a while you find the good times of day to go for your personal preference. The staff is friendly and the members are there to do their work outs and leave. There is none of that macho, ego clunking and personalities you find in some fitness centers. I would recommend Planet Fitness to EVERYONE.

Would give 0 stars if I could. The manager of this location is absolutely HORRIBLE. She is incredibly rude and condescending; I don’t understand how this woman is still employed after numerous complaints. She is by far the WORST customer service representative of any company I have ever encountered. I will NEVER step foot into any planet fitness location ever again and always warn friends and family of the hideous service from this awful woman and business.

Overall this is a great place to workout and the price is the best in town. Ive noticed that I personally am sensitive to the cleaners used on equipment and the tanning beds and have heard similar complaints from others but showering right after generally stops any reaction. The big motivation killer is that the 30 minute cycle area is basically unusable because of people who go back there and stay on one or two pieces of equipment for prolonged periods of time or people sitting on equipment using their phones and taking selfies. When I first started going I wanted to make it a goal to do the cycle once or twice a week since it really seemed to kick my butt but I could never complete the whole cycle due to the lingering people.

For the price, cant beat it. I compared. I go most days between 1 - 4p. Seldom have to wait for a machine, if I do, its not long.I agree with another post that the 30mt circuit area isnt monitored. People do often just plop down on a machine casually & seem oblivious that theyre interrupting someones training. Sometimes theyll even sit on a machine just to use their phone. I dont mind working around those who are trying. Many just dont seem to care. Maybe they cant read the sign? Whatever the case, PF staff have not held up to the posted monitoring claim. Hopefully they do a better job during the busy hours.Staff have been friendly to me. Ive never witnessed one of them walking around with, or even looking at their phone as stated in other post. Theyre young.Again, for the price, it cant be beat, especially when tanning is included!If there were more amenities, I would have given at least another half star.

Standard equipment. Was prettt empty around 8PM. Many using the showers but didnt need to wait. Roomy showers.

I recently joined planet fitness and am pretty pleased with the gym, but am dissapointed they dont have a legit row machine. If they could get 2 of those that would be fantastic - I miss my days in college going to the gym with a bud and competing on the row machine games. Other than that its perfect there.

The manager I cant think of her name. An old white woman with split ends is the rudest woman I have ever met. She accused me of cussing out her staff wich never happened. She then took my card and hid it behind her back like a little kid. She wanted to explain what she thought happened. I repeatedly asked for my card back and she kept stating that if I was unhappy she would gladly cancel my memebership. Anyways Alaska Club is better and has more professional staff.

I enjoy going to planet fitness. Almost all of the equipment is in working order. It is generally pretty clean, but I did notice barely anyone cleans the equipment after they use it, So Ive started wiping down the equipment before and after use. The employees are pretty meh. They dont really smile and kind of have an apathetic attitude. Which is better than an overzealous attitude but could use some work. It truly is a no judgement atmosphere and that is the biggest thing for me. I am a member and continue to be one for a long time!

I cant speak for the Womens locker room; but for the Mens locker room, they need more sinks. There are only two and sometimes I have to wait for someone who is shaving or brushing their teeth. Also, they need more shower stalls. On top of that, the shower stalls have been running out of soap. There is seldom something more frustrating than working out on a schedule, all sweaty, and no soap in the shower stalls. Yes, I have had to wait until an occupied shower is freed up only to find it is out of soap also. On a positive note, the equipment is pretty well maintained and the only saving grace is the price.

Its alright for where I currently am in my fitness. Overall tidy but cleaner, paper towels and soap have often been out and Ive only been going for three weeks. My first time in, all three were out.
