Came home to find my AC condenser unit was running but no cold air was coming into my house on a 90+ degree afternoon! It was already over 80 degrees inside and I was dreading a long, hot wait for service. Darrin arrived at my house less than 2 hours later and was able to make a repair that got my AC running again! Came first thing the following day to install a new part and make sure everything was running smoothly. I cant thank him and the service department enough for the quick response and terrific, professional work. Ive been a customer for over 20 years and they have earned my loyalty!

We called for a service request and were told it could be a day or two but they will call. They took my info. I have used them for the past 20 some years. Well, no call no nothing. After 5 days I called someone else. Our furnace was 20 years old and we ended up having it replaced by the other company. Lost customer lost sale.

I was hoping I would be happy with Shekell as they are a good name in the area. Technician seemed to do a good job. However, I was disappointed that they charged $127 for a $15 run capacitor and charged $50/lb of 410A which runs about $5/lb. Im okay with a reasonable markup but this is absurd!Update - I got a call from Shekell that the flat rate charge for these items was not warranted in this situation and they are issuing a refund for a portion of the bill. Makes sense since the AC service includes the diagnostic tests that revealed the need for the capacitor and refrigerant. And they guarantee their work.Raised the rating to 4 stars.

Marcos came over a few hours after I called. He called to let me know he was on his way, was very nice on the phone and informative.He got to the house quick and figured out our problem quickly after we had been told we needed a new furnace. Its a 30 year old furnace, so I know its at the end of its lifetime, but 2020 has been rough and Im so glad he was able to fix it for a good price.

We had a garbage disposal circuit issue. Bryan was great and identified the trouble quickly and repaired it for a very affordable price.

(Removal of our old claw foot tub and installation of a walk in shower) My husband and I were extremely pleased with the level of professionalism and attention to detail that we received from J.E. Shekell, Inc. with this recent upgrade to our home. When I called to inquire if J.E. Shekell did home plumbing upgrades, Danny Hammers took my call. He talked with us on the phone and set up an appointment within just a day or two. He arrived at the time and date that he said. He was professional, attentive to details and told us that he would get an estimate ready. He sent that estimate to us by email within a day. Once we signed the agreement, he was able to schedule for the job within a couple of weeks. During the work at our home, Lloyd Grigsby (along with a couple of other men that I didnt get their names) arrived on time and completed the work with precision, professionalism and courtesy. We would highly recommend J.E. Shekell for any residential plumbing issues that you have. Danny helped simplify the process from beginning to end.

Herb does a great job in getting a serviceman to us very quickly to fix any problem we may have. He calls when he has a serviceman on the way, is very personable on the phone.Darrin is the last serviceman we had. I like service techs that show up on time, are friendly and professional. Shekels has done a good job taking care of my HVAC units, but they are not inexpensive.

Amazing as always! Have a 2 week old and a couple toddlers and an extremely tired wife on maternity leave. Air quit working @1, set first available appointment for later in the week Herb called me to let me know he would have someone out to us that night... told me he wasnt going to let a baby or healing mother wait if possible! Marcos the technician was super efficient and friendly. We will not use another heating and air contractor.

Had an AC drain issue...water leaking at bottom of inside unit. Previously had 2 companies out. Both focused on the p trap. Marcos and Easton flushed the pipe out, put forth the extra effort and got in the crawlspace and increased the slope of the drain pipe. Tested the drain with water and water was flowing nicely. Looks like the problem is solved...finally. In addition, Marcos and Easton were very professional and friendly. Explained everything they were doing and why along the way. Very satisfied customer after this service call.

Dale came out and did an energy assessment. He was extremely professional and friendly. He made some great suggestions and really seemed to be concerned for the customer. Excellent customer service. Would definitely recommend!

Dale came and provided a very thorough inspection of the residence as well as explained everything that he was going to look for/change. While going through the work Dale expressed tremendous knowledge on why it is he was changing things, what the benefits were and the consequences for not having things changed/fixed. Dale also provided insight into other areas of improvement as well as showing exact examples either via picture or visually pointing out what it is he was seeing as a potential issue. Dale was also very easy going with two dogs roaming around. Highly recommend not only the energy audit program but Dales services as well.

Jason installed a Saniflo Upflush toilet system in our basement bathroom. He did an excellent install and when we had a small glitch with the unit on the Saturday after install he came back and took care of it for us. We have used JE Shekell for heating and ac install as well. Good reputable company. Highly recommend.

Quick and timely service. We had an after hours emergency call at our business and they had a quicker than expected response time. Once they were on scene they diagnosed the problem and had us back up and running with very little to no down time. I would recommend them to anybody in need of electrical work.

Dale just came out to my house and not only took the time to explain how I can make my home more energy efficient and save money but he gave us several free items to help us save electricity and a new shower head to help us save water. I am very pleased with the experience and before he left my driveway I was on the phone with my mom tell her to sign up for the FREE inspection! He also signed me up for another FREE inspection to get a quote on better insulating our house. 10/10 experience!

Dale was right on time. He changed my light bulbs to energy efficient ones. He also replaced my thermostat with a digital one & replaced my showerhead with a more energy efficient one. He was very pleasant & knowledgeable. He gave me info on what I can do so I can use the atrium year round.

Every time I need someone to assist with my heating or air conditioning, I call Shekell. My Mom used to call them bc she used to get calls for them as the phone numbers were 1 digit off. Our AC went down after 5pm and by 10pm we were sleeping in an 85 degree house. I called JE Shekell around 6am and they rearranged their schedule to get a guy here before 8am. They called me to do my a/c spring maintenance check. Told the manager that I just got out of the hospital, and he assured me I would not have any clean up to do.There was grass and mud on the floor when the guy left. He also took a piece of wood from my trash can to kneel on and left it in the yard. Very disappointed! Have used Shekell for 18 years. Not anymore.UPDATE: As of June 2016 I was contacted by the company to offer their apologies. They offered to make things right for me! Usually good service how ever last time not so great. The gentlemen that i was in contact with was not very friendly. They came to replace the insulation wrap on my duct work ripped a good section out then decided that they wasnt comfortable put back in so they contracted another company thinking they would use a special insulation which they are not. so call the shekell guy back and told him that they were gonna use what he was afraid to use and i would like for them to Finnish the job and he said that he didnt have time to mess with that he had air conditioners to fix. so here i am left high and dry.

I wouldnt reccomend these guys for plumbing, they came out worked on my clogged drained for about 2 hours and the guy says after I Think I fixed it so I paid him. Then 2 days later my drain was backing up again, so whatever that guy did he did not fix it, so I called them back and asked if they do call backs and they said no, so they were wanting to charge me again after something they couldnt fix the first time. Then they tell me I didnt cancel my appointment, which I did tell them Im going to someone else and were wanting to charge me again $277 for someone that came and did no work the second time. On top of that knowing that he was doing drain work, he tells me he forgot his machine, so I got charge for that machine too. When it comes to plumbing these guys dont know what there doing and I didnt really want to give these guys a 1 star either!

I was impressed with their service. The tech was thorough, friendly, very knowledgeable. Whoever the Shekell owner is needs to keep this guy. I am very happy and will use Shekell again if I can have this technician. And FTR the tech or no one else is paying me to say this either. ;)
