Wow!! I was blessed today by the folks at Johnson Automotive!! Bought a 2013 Ford Edge and drove up from Los Angeles a week ago…yesterday the moon roof wouldn’t close. I called around and no one had any available appointments until next week and most places are closed on Saturday in Arcata and Eureka. I called Johnson Automotive, and even though they were booked solid, they told me to come in and they would check it out. Well they did more than that…they got the moon roof closed and didn’t charge me for their service!!! Advised me to check to see if service to repair the moon roof is covered under the warrantywhen I get back home.Would definitely recommend these folks for your automotive needs!! Fast, efficient, kind, professional & clean! Does it get better? They got me in for a smog without a wait! I was in and out in under 20 minutes! Van did not start. Checked several auto shops to see if they could take in the van before I committed the tow trucks destination. Johnsons competitor was not much help. George was professional and accommodating. They diagnosed the problem after I called following up a time I was to receive a call. I was involved in a wedding. Johnson Auto did identify the problem, resolved it, picked up the van the following morning. Very much appreciated.I am not from the area, however if I had vehicle issues, I would call Johnson Automotive & Electric first. Overall well done!! Thank you.

Chris was our main contact and they are truly Blessed to have him represent the Company.. He kept us informed and updated during the Work which took several days.. Did all that he could to make sure we were as comfortable as possible since we were from out of town.... We have never had such a Wonderful experience during what usually is a horrible time... I was so happy I took my new-to-me old truck here to be smogged. They were super kind, answered all my questions, and didnt shy away when they needed to dig in to a few things to get her to pass the smog test. The previous owner replaced the factory air cleaner so one had to be sourced from a parts yard. Fine that solved the smog test. When I got home I opened the hood and couldnt believe my eyes. To say the part was used was ok but the part was caked with heavy dirt/grime. I spent 5 minutes wiping it off with a WD-40 soaked rag and cleaned up 90% of the mess. Looking around further I discovered the plastic cowling on top of the motor wasnt bolted down. One bolt, thats all it took. When I informed the service manager he really acted like he could care less! No apology nothing, he just put his hands in his pocket and walked away whistling.

Went on a Saturday and was super busy so made an appointment for Tuesday. Super easy to schedule and service was quick. The only downside is they are not super great at following COVID protocols. Staff wasnt wearing a mask in my car when they pulled up my car and there wasnt a a lot of room in the waiting area...

I took my car to Johnson Automotive & Electric to check my head gasket. I had been having problems with spark plugs and the engine light was on. They verified that I did have an issue. The fee they charged me was very reasonable. Other shops were charging more than double the price. I used Johnsons shop many years ago and I had them take care of everything that needed to be done and was able to drive my car for many years without needing repairs. The service was friendly, patient and helpful. I definitely recommend Johnson Automotive & Electric for any concerns you may have a with your vehicle.

Went to get my vehicle smogged. It did NOT PASS but they “still charged” me a “smog fee”. I’ve had my vehicle smogged at other locations and when it did not pass, I was not charged a fee. DO NOT SMOG at “Johnson Automotive”. They will RIP YOU OFF!

We had the worst experience here. There was a lady I spoke with she was older maybe mid 40s with brownish blond hair she said after talking with her she blamed her incompitence on being new. She sounded rude and impatient when I called to schedule my appointment. When we asked her what she was charging us for she had a hard time telling us and instead of the guy coming up and explaining it he sat in his chair out of sight. I had to call and make the appointment then cancel it because our car wouldnt start. We didnt want to take up the appointment slot if we couldnt be on time out of respect for this business. To bad we didnt get an ounce of respect back. When I called back to tell them we got the car jumped AAA said we should keep the car on for at least 30 minutes which gave us enough time to make our apartment. I called back got the guy on the phone this time and told him about the whole situation about jumping the car, the year of the car even the make of the the car. We were told we didnt fail our smog test but the device used wasnt working on the car because it needed to be driven to fortuna and back going 62 and then come back and pay full price again for a maybe that the device will work on are car if it still wasnt working we would have to keep coming back and paying the full price every time. It would of been nice to know I needed to do that and I did say that, not in a mean way but I wanted to know exactly why and she couldnt explain it to me which was frustrating and the guy hiding in the background wasnt much better. Ill be talking to AAA about that recommendation they gave me because that is just rediculous how we were treated.

About a year ago I got a smog done here, check engine codes were cleared because my battery was recently disconnected. So the smog failed laid the full smog price (70 or so) and the guy at the front desk told me to drive around for the day, come back and he would only charge me 10 dollars for the paperwork. I come back the next day have them smoge it, passes, to and the same guy rings me up for two smogs, chargese twice, says that he never told me I wouldnt get charged twice. Felt very ripped off, will cirtainly never go back. They pull you in with cheaper than the next guy prices for specific things but my guess is your going to pay more in the end.

I left a positive review here before and I have enjoyed the work they have done and find them to be good honest workers but after having some work done someone had screwed around and ruined my cruise control causing me to also have a check engine light. Normally this isnt that big of a deal except Ive brought my car in for a week at a time 3 separate times just for absolutely no progress to be made.

Smog check . They got me in right away. They were professional and prompt . I was even 10 min late. I recommend them.

When AA A didnt show up to take my camper van over to Johnsons Automotive.I called to let them know I couldnt get over there .Chris answered asked where I was. Then he told me hed be right over and he got my van over there. My Van was fixed at very reasonable price and I was on my way I cant say anough about this business

I cannot recommend this place enough!!!! I’m currently in the process of moving cross-country, my house is all packed up and I’m ready to head out when my car starter stopped working 🙄 Glen Taylor at Johnson Automotive was able to take my car at 4:00pm on a SATURDAY and have it fixed and out the door before 5:00pm. This shop showed that they have a lot of experience with Nissan cars. They have the best customer service I’ve experienced in my 6+ years living in Humboldt county, and even offered to follow up on the warranty of the part personally if I should have any trouble with it in the next 2 years. Amazing! Everyone must go here, mechanics that are compassionate and get the job done quickly and correctly!!

Not too happy with their service charge my wife like a hundred and sixty bucks just to do a Diagnostics will we get a smog give her a list of things that need to be addressed or fixed totaling over $2,000 and something got her all done under five hundred bucks and they left a glow plug in my engine almost caught it on fire

My car started smoking 3,500 miles from home and they were able to check it out last minute on a Saturday and provide a very reasonable quote. The guys were very nice and knowledge. I did not get my car serviced here as the parts would have arrived a day late (I had to leave Sunday) but they did offer a discount if I returned and I really appreciated their assistance and advice. If I ever need my car serviced while in town this is where I would go!Also, my local friends get their work done here.

I recently purchased a used vehicle with a lot of miles and had been apprehensive about traveling outside of Humboldt in it. I scheduled an 80-point inspection with JAE to give it a “once over”. They gave me a ride to a meeting I had scheduled and when I can back to pick up my rig they had it ready and waiting for me. I have so much more piece of mind in my new purchase now that it has the “all-clear” from a trusted shop. Whether you are having issues with your vehicle or want to take it in for a preventative check-up DO IT! Seriously, I’m so glad I did.

I’m a single mom with 2 young kids and I won’t take my car anywhere else. being a woman makes me naturally skeptical about trusting any shop with my car issues. Car issues are already so confusing and stressful. However Chris has always been honest and upfront and when I don’t understand he doesn’t talk down to me. He explains things so I can understand. He works with me. He’s professional I have been bringing them my car for couple years now and I have never regretted it. Hope this review helps a struggling mama to find a reliable place to take their car. Johnsons hasn’t let me down and they won’t let you down.

This is a great shop. I called they were busy but still able to fit me in for a smog on my pick up.. they tried to make it pass. It was missing a hose to the EGR.. they charged only 56.00 and said if they repair its only another 8. To smog check again. I bought a new EGR and a hose Will be added. Appointment tomorrow at 10:30 and it will be a done deal..

These guys were great! They let me know what needed to be done, and gave me an accurate, competitive, estimate. They had the work finished in a day, plus they had a guy in the office, til 5:30pm, so I had plenty of time to pick up my car, after work.

I have taken both of my cars to Johnson Automotive and Electric for sometime now. They are the only place that I will take my cars to. I have always found them to be fair in their pricing and honest with me. They have definitely earned my business.

The employees were very rude while I was getting my car smogged. I would ask a question and they would clearly ignore me even after I repeated myself loud and clear. They acted like it was an inconvenience having to smog my vehicle acting like it wouldn’t pass or whatever but of course it did pass and their attitude changed very quickly after that point on. Definitely will not be going back I hate people with attitudes for no ducking reason.

I stop by to make an apointment and they have a open spot for my truck that day they did all my truck needs same day, great service thanks a lot.

I have entrusted my vehicles in the hands of trusted and honest mechanics over the years. The staff (Julie, Chris, Glenn, GG, Randy...) are excellent employees.

Brought my RV in for maintenance before I took a cross country trip, Thing runs worst than when it went in, now Im 2 states away, and theres transmission fluid leaking, gouges are goin crazy, alignment is sitting at a 1 Oclock and pulling to the right after alignment was done. Call them and they want no responsibility, lost good business here. Hope this helps..

I went to Johnson Auto Electric because they have advanced smog systems that I needed to pass a smog test. When my emissions ran too high, the staff gave me some good advice on ways to bring my emissions down. I was able to pass thanks to their good advice and care, and they even managed to point me in the direction of a near by weight station. I highly recommended them.
