On August 26, 2021 I drove into the El Cajon Ford dealership without an appointment to get my 2015 Ford Focus checked out. I knew I’d have to leave it there since I was having really bad problems with shuddering on take off and my clutch. I had a really great experience at this dealership!! Carlos Martinez was my Service Advisor and he was completely transparent with what was going on with my car, how much my final cost would be, and the estimate on my car. Unfortunately, the clutch (I believe) was back ordered and it took literally three weeks for the dealership to finally receive it (completely NOT their fault, though), but when they DID receive it, Carlos got right to work on my car and called me 30 minutes before the Service Department closed! I appreciated this because he was trying to get it back to me ASAP, which I definitely wanted!! Picked my car up on September 17, 2021 and she’s been driving like a charm ever since & there’s no more weird jerks when I’m shifting now!! The engine in my F-350 needed to be replaced. Working with Brandon was a great experience. Service department and Quick Lube is outstanding. We were passing through on our way back home and we had some car issues. They were able to get us right in. They listened to our issue and were really great. They treated us like friends and valued customers even though we are just vacationing. Since then I have experienced great customer service and timely repairs on my 2016 Explorer and 2018 F350. Brandons customer service is going to keep me bringing my vehicles to El Cajon Ford for the foreseeable future.
Our smart key for our 2014 Expedition broke and we could not find the spare. I called El Cajon Ford parts and George looked up the VIN and confirmed they had the key I needed in stock. Explained the process of making a new one. Nothing like the old days I assure you. He then told me he checked with service and if I could come down right away they could get it taken care of same day. I jumped in the car and dashed to their store. When I arrived Carlos in service already knew what I needed and got me set up. 30 minutes later it was done and I have a working remote key again. Excellent service and very friendly staff. Great job guys!
Stopped in last Wednesday, Aug 25th, to get two rear coil springs mounted on my new shocks for my T-bird.The service rep, David Gutierrez, was most helpful. He called in a repair tech, Mike, to look at and see if he had time to do it. Mike said no problem and told me to come back in an hour and he would knock it out between jobs.Sure enough, an hour later it was done. David even walked out to me in the service drive and loaded the two assembled shocks in my trunk. Amazingly, he offered this service at no charge, though I did give Mike a nominal Tip for his hustle.I will definitely return to El Cajon Ford for any future service, parts, or maybe a new car. Theyve got me sold.P.S. El Cajon Ford was my last stop after visiting 5 other front-end repair shops in the area that turned me away. I should have come here first!

This location is one of the best. Drove in from New Mexico and needed our Ranger looked at. Walked into the quick dept. the gentleman walked me to the right doors. There, Mr. Brandon Snyder greeted me and listened to my concerns. He told me to wait a bit in case it was a quick fix. The professionalism and courtesy that was shown to my family will be appreciated! No better representative for a company than Brandon and those who helped us in the service dept! Folks, its just such an odd time to be looking for a vehicle. Youll find shortages, inflated prices and market adjustments everywhere. The sheer effort to find the right vehicle at the right price point can be exhausting.Truth is EC Ford is limited on stock and that darned market mark up is present on their sticker but thats true all over so theyre just part of the current sales game. No harm, no foul.One thing... Spoke a bit to James in sales. Hes a straight shooter and was up front with info regarding my interest in a Ranger. Suggest you talk to him if you choose to visit this dealer.Good luck!
Ill give a 2 because the car was eventually fixed, But my overall experience with this dealership service department was lacking. I waited three days with no contact, then I had to call three or four times. To get to speak to somebody. When I finally got to talk to somebody they told me it would be the next day or so. 2 days later I still hadnt heard anything and had to call another three or four times to get to talk to somebody. Toadd insult to injury, the entire time Im on hold Ihave to hear this promo over and over about howthe Quick Lane is so fast and so helpful.Meanwhile Im going a week without my car andno contact! When I finally went to pick my car upthe people there had no idea where mypaperwork was, no idea where my key was and itseemed completely disorganized. I shall not be returning.
For the most part El Cajon Ford has always done a good job of taking care of my vehicles this last issue a upgrade on my sync system was required but when it was done it wiped out the aftermarket reverse camera and the camera was installed by El Cajon Ford through a third-party. So since March 2021 the issued has not been resolved and numerous phone calls and trips to the dealership with promises I would be made whole. Now they are not returning my calls. I rated this review as one star but it should be none.Thank you Mr Morales for reaching out to me. You are gaining stars ⭐️⭐️Today my new reverse camera was installed and I understand the delays and thank you Mr Morales and David, the service manager. I appreciate being providing a vehicle while the camera was installed. You have earned 5 stars. My only complaint is not being kept updated on the progress to get this done. Overall I’m good. Service department allows you to set appointments for specific maintenance services, then later on tell you after arriving that they dont honor appointments for most maintenance and that its all first-come-first-serve in their Quick Lane department.Very misleading and they had absolutely zero concern or empathy for the scheduling fiasco that they created. Ill be finding a new place to get my vehicle serviced.

I was very happy that they got my car serviced and the spark plugs and coolant exchange didn’t take long and I was out of there ahead the estimated time by 1.5 hours. This allowed me time to go home before I had to go to work.Guillermo was my service rep-very nice, friendly guy. I spoke with him a few days before and he was very kind to look up the answers I needed.The only thing I didn’t like was the labor cost. It seemed high to me-over $300 added to the parts quote I was given of $179.

I went to get my transmission fixed under a warranty (so I thought). When I went to pick up my car I was told it wasnt covered by the warranty and was getting charged for the fix. The costumer service was in no way rude about it, there was just a little confusion and mix up. The manager, David was extremely helpful and understanding. He showed that they really do care about their costumers, and he helped me out going above and beyond my expectations! Very grateful for these folks :)

I purchased a 2020 Ford Explorer on 06/172021. The entire process run fairly well (aside for the typical car dealership useless haggling process).The issue started the very next day. Because of their long haggling process, the technicians were all gone by the time we wrapped up the deal and they didnt have anyone to generate a new door key code. My review reflects the fact that they knee a day ahead I was coming to buy that specific vehicle and the have plenty of time to prepare and get it done. They told me not to worry, you can go to any dealer and they will generate the key code at no charge to you) next day I returned to them and after 2.5 hours they still didnt have anyone to work on my $60k purchase. I went to another dealer and they wanted $110 to get it done. Even though El Cajon Ford offered a reimbursement, I still needed to go to them to process the refund. Two days later and now they are not even returning my calls. I am very concerned about my future encounters with them and I feel once they have no use of my wallet I am just another collateral damage to them.UPDATE: 06/29/2021 after a lot of research online a many trials and tests, I have now come to realized the auto start/stop feature on my 2020 Explorer Platinum is not operational. Car has been on Kearny Mesa Ford all day and still havent heard back from them as to what the problem might be.
I bought a car from El Cajon Ford on June 25, 2021, and I just found that the registration that was sent out to my new address from the dealership was sent to the wrong address (the dealership put my address in the system incorrectly). I find this out 11 days before the temporary registration is going to expire. They took care of the registration over the phone, and I should receive the one with the corrected address in the mail soon (time will tell). However, I paid cash for the car, and I am still going to have to get things straightened out at the DMV for my title and pay for a new title out of my own pocket (they wont reimburse me for the title when it was their error in the first place). This leaves a bad taste in my mouth because I dropped a lot of money on the car, and Im not rich, and now I have to lose money taking time off work, filling out forms, and paying for a title that they were supposed to take care of for me. I guess the lesson from all this is beware when people tell you with a smile, dont worry, well take care of that for you! Make sure to have staff repeat your address back to you before sending off your paperwork!

On March 19, 2021 I took my 2008 Shelby GT500 in for an oil change at El Cajon Ford. My service rep was Dustin and he was extremely helpful through the process giving me status updates on when my car would be ready. Additionally. he was helpful in letting me know when the sales floor would be open to look at other cars while I was waiting. I saw a beautiful 2021 Mustang Mach 1 on the showroom floor with all of the bells and whistles! Almost makes me want to trade my Shelby. Since moving to east county we’ve been using the El Cajon shop for our Transit repairs. I’ve dealt exclusively with Carlos and he has always been extremely patient and flexible with me. This particular van has a number of factory problems and we’ve worked around many of them, and those repairs I’ve needed Ford to do have been made easier by the staff there, and they fixed the real problem the first time which is even more important.
Carlos was awesome. He communicated with me regarding the status of my car being worked on and really helped to make a challenging situation as smooth as possible.
I told them I had a maintenance package and they said they didn’t see one on my account which was odd my car is brand new. After I paid I ended up finding my agreement in the glove box and when I went back in to show them they said oh I had to show them the paperwork for them to honor it and I have to call and ask the third party company the maintenance package was purchased through to he reimbursed. I asked if a note could be placed on my account to reflect this and they said no I had to make sure I showed this paperwork every time. I was hoping to just be reimbursed right there but was not.
Good experience. Kelsey was friendly and professional. All tasks completed as requested. Good documentation. And a car wash! Only criticism- call me when car wash was completed so that I did not have to wait 15-20 minutes for the car to be done.

The quick lane wasnt very quick. It took nearly 45 minutes to get our car out of car wash. Kelsey kept checking on it and was told almost ready. She did all she could. Dont know what/where the hang up was.

I purchased from Weather Tech front/back mudflats. I was able to install the back mudflats but not the front mudflats. I went to El Cajon Ford where I bought my Ford Ranger. We brought our Ford Fusion in to David to replace the glass coat on a right panel that had some vandelusm body work done. Not only did they make it convenient, kind, professional, AND provide a loaner vehicle.....they redid the whole car and gave it back clean and QUICK in a few hours!! And no charge!! Come on...that was FANTASTIC SERVICE!!! We always get treated so amazing at El Cajon Ford. We have closer Ford Dealerships to our home - but we continue to go the extra distance because you just cant beat service like this! Theres just no comparison - and we are truly grateful!! I have a 2019 F150 King Ranch that needed a oil change and a update to a moduleI was helped by multiple service technicians which answered all my questions and took care of the service. I received a ride back home, I was notified when the vehicle was ready for pick up. I found the vehicle safely parked, interior was clean. I declined the car wash as a vehicle was already clean on the outside. And my technicians both answered questions about towing for me and headed me in the correct direction. Very happy with the professionalism of the dealership on this visit.

I recently purchased a Bronco Sport and was please with the assistance i received from sales persons James Boyd and Lisa Welch. Their help in getting to a workable deal was much appreciated. They were very friendly and easy to work with. I was disappointed that Ford advertises that they support our Veterans with a rebate program but exempt many popular cars including the Broncos. If Ford is going to honor our vets do it across the board with all your vehicles.
I took my 2005 Ford Focus in to get the air flow actuator replaced. The knob had broken so I could no longer switch between regular air flow and defrosters. Jessica Blake was our service representative. Unfortunately several issues occurred before the vehicle could be fixed correctly. First the technician forgot to reconnect our cigarette lighter power after she had performed the initial diagnosis. This meant that we had to drive around for 3 days without being able to charge our phones while waiting for the necessary part to arrive. Then we came back to the dealership and Jessica informed us that a second part was now necessary, but her colleagues had mistakenly ordered the wrong one. This resulted in another delay of several hours. I will say that Jessica did a fantastic job of keeping us informed throughout this ordeal. Her communication and customer service skills were top notch. She even offered us a free rental car after the second problem but we politely declined. She ultimately gave us a generous discount on our bill due to the service issues. In the end my wife and I were happy customers. Thank you Jessica!
I called ahead to make an appointment. When Maya answered she was very friendly and told me theres no need for an appointment just come in. When I got there I checked in with Maya and she got my car in ASAP! I told her I needed it done by a curtain time and they got it done before the time I told them I needed it by. Ryan was the tech who worked on my car and did a great job that I could see from the viewing window from the lobby.Thank you El Cajon Ford Ill be back!
I was told that my lug nuts swelled so I needed to replace my lug nuts. I have driven cars for over 40 years in all that time Ive never heard of lug nuts swelling. But they wanted to charge me $50 and I said no nope. Because I have never in my entire life her lug nuts swell so I thought that was a ploy to make me buy something that I didnt need I was really upset about it I really dont know if Ill ever go back to El Cajon Ford Im very upset with them were trying to get me to buy something that I know you dont really need it was just wrong and Im very upset about it.
My power steering when out on my vehicle and I brought it to El Cajon Ford. There was actually a recall on the power steering. The service advisor Carlos Martinez also informed me of another recall that they could also take care of in the same visit. He notified me parts needed to be ordered and updated me throughout the entire process.Parts came in quickly and I got my car back the very next day! This is the second visit to this service center and the service advisors are always professional, informative and pleasant. I recommend El Cajon Ford! 👌

Best truck shopping experience I’ve ever had! I’ve been going to El Cajon Ford for over 10 years. Mr. John Banner and Pamela made my truck buying easy. One day I came in to the dealership and talked to Mr. Banner about what I wanted, and he gave me a straight answer. The truck that I was looking for came in two weeks later (2021 Lithium Grey Ford F-250 Lariat ) No one in San Diego county had this truck available at the time. Mr. Banner gave me the best deal possible in San Diego County. Pamela was also very easy to talk to. She was very knowledgeable about the features and took the time to go over the different models that they had.
We had a great experience with everyone at this El Cajon Ford. They were not pushy and listened to what we said. The actual process was quick and smooth. Nick was professional and very polite. One other gentlemen that helped us the first time also was great and did not come off as an aggressive salesman. We definitely will come here when purchasing our next car.
Experience was fairly quick and easy, as it was just an oil change on my relatively new car. Only took about 45 minutes, much better than last oil change which was 2 hours.The only problem they created this time was the disconnecting of the temp probe for outside temperature.
I am only giving 2 stars. I went in to have my oil changed and tires rotated. The technician told the service advisor that the lug nuts had swollen and could not be taken off. Therefore he was not able to rotate my tires and do his inspection.I was giving a quote to replace lug nuts and I scheduled for the next day. Before my appointment the following day I tried the lug nut wrench and had no problems turning them if needed. I just figured the tech must have been tired since it was the end of the day. I was emailed the inspection report saying the inspection was done. I am pretty sure it was not done since the tires could not be removed. I am not mad just frustrated since I was there for awhile waiting. The service advisor Maya was great. We all have those days.
Carlos Martinez went above and beyond to get my truck fixed. Cant thank him enough for his time and dedication to making sure parts were replaced under warranty. He sent 100s of photos to corporate making sure my warranty claim was approved. Im a very happy customer and will return here for all my future work. Thank you Carlos!
I had a horrible experience with the technicians. I took my F350 in for a check up on the drivers side tire, an oil change and to have the rear passenger side tire filled. I dropped my truck off first thing in the morning. I heard nothing all day, at 3:30 I called to ask what the status of my truck was and they had no updates for me. I called back at 4:30, and was told nothing had been done on my truck. The woman at the desk was the only positive experience I had. I was informed they were keeping the mechanic late to at least complete the oil change. I arrived back at the service station at just past 5 pm. when they brought my truck out the service worker informed me that they did not fill the tire with air because they didnt have the correct tool. It is still unknown what they even did to my truck for the 9 hours or so that they had my truck. What I will say is I will never take my truck there again

El Cajon Ford is a very nice dealership loaded with lots of inventory and has friendly people working there. We found & purchased a used Nissan Pathfinder in their used car section. Reagan was our very knowledgeable and patient salesman. He was forthcoming with answers to all of our questions and concerns.
I had an amazing experience, very helpful and organized, went in to service oil change ... thank you for maintenance on my ride and offering me a complementary car wash .
I never agree with dealership prices... lol no one does. But they do a great job servicing my RV.
