We worked with Expeditors for some big shipments before Christmas of 2018. We thought their size would be an advantage. Wed worked with smaller companies in the past and our shipments would sometimes get bumped in favor of larger shipping companies.Expeditors was just *awful*. We were assigned someone who just didnt care. He didnt check on our shipments, he missed deadlines, and he wasnt responsive to emails. We had to babysit every single shipment, making sure that the proper paperwork was submitted along the way. We asked to be given someone else to work with and they told us no. Among other things, they caused a big shipment to the UK to be delayed in a railyard for two weeks because they didnt get the paperwork in. It meant we didnt get orders fulfilled before Christmas and we lost thousands of dollars and had some unhappy customers. Then Expeditors tried to bill us for the railyard delay that was their fault.Id like to think we were just assigned a bad person to work with, but it went deeper than that. Our impression is that Expeditors tries to put the responsibility of getting things shipped on the customer. For example, they have tools that let customers book their own ships. We were encouraged to go to a day long training session so that we could do it ourselves. But isnt that precisely what we pay them to do?Stay away from this company. Youll save yourself a lot of headache.
The staff has always been courteous, and explained what was needed on paperwork. These folks have been a pleasure to work with.
