This is THE BEST computer repair shop in the Triangle-(period). I dropped my laptop and bent the power button. It was still under warranty so I took it to Geek Squad at Best Buy.They wanted to charge me $345 and also recommended I pay an additional $100 to backup my data just in case. Compuer Cellar fixed it in 20 minutes for $37.00! These guys are AWESOME.

I cannot recommend this shop enough if you need a computer repair. They saved the day for me when my MacBook Pro keyboard and trackpad stopped working. The staff were professional, friendly, and explained exactly what they were going to do to fix the computer. Best of all, they fixed my laptop in only two hours and for a price that was even lower than what they quoted me! Plus, they also have a really awesome vintage computer collection on display in the store. I’m definitely going back here next time I need a repair for my device.

I don’t think I can say enough good things about this place. From my first initial phone call (I spoke with Gabriel) to picking up my order- it was a fantastic experience. They’re super professional and more importantly, super transparent. The shop was clean and appealing when I walked in. I worked with Gabriel again when I got there. He explained everything to me- enough so I (who is not super computer savvy when it comes to the inside parts) and had a great turn around time. Also communicated with me via text through to give me updates, which I appreciated. They were priced super fair (one company quoted me $400 as a minimum and I paid about 20-25% at The Computer Cellar. Will absolutely recommend them to anyone and will for sure use them again if I ever need to!

I bought my laptop in to have the palm rest replaced after a sticky liquid spill that ruined my keyboard and touchpad and they were able to swap it out and have my computer back to me on the same day! Everything is now working perfectly. Everyone that I interacted with was very friendly and helpful. I took my 10 year old laptop for diagnostics and repair recently to Computer Cellar. I had an exceptional experience. Gabriel tested my laptop and responded back to me in less than two hours. As I feared, I need to buy a new laptop. I am computer illiterate. Gabriel is so kind that he has given me excellent advice on choosing a new laptop. They only charged me $20 for the diagnostics. I had called Geek squad and their charge is $100 just for the diagnostics. Another chain computer repair shop charges $50 for diagnostics. Their three shops told me that they wont get to my laptop for 3 to 9 days. I chose Computer Cellar due to glowing reviews and it exceeded my expectations. I found the staff very polite, prompt and professional. I whole heartedly recommend Computer Cellar for all your computer repair needs and questions.

Over the course of two weekw, we called the Computer Cellar to find out if they work on Vintage Macs. Two different people told us they did. We live quite a distance from there, and we drove in to deliver our Mac. Evidently wed been given wrong information, they dont work on old Macs. I deeply resent a waster trip.

I cant say enough good about these guys. They went over and above to try to fix my old laptop it ended being a bust probably because I had basically wiped it by the time i broke down to take it somewhere. I dealt with 3 different people at the shop. Each of them was almost overly friendly like chick fil a friendly. Also I was shocked at how little money I was charged for their work. I thought he had misspoke when they told me the price. I will never work on my own computers again they have won my business for a while!

Let me begin with a bit of context, got pc parts Friday at 3, build it and finish around 2 hours later. It post and then I tried to install windows 10. One weekend with a combined 6 hours of sleep later I come to the realization that this is absolutely beyond me. I take it to these guys, incredibly professional, they literally keep you posted about whats going and what theyre doing to your Pc through text. They figured out that my 3600x was a dud with a test cpu in 3 hours give or take. I drove 90 miles from lexington to go to these guys and id do it again in a heartbeat. You are doing yourself a disservice by not going here if its within a 100 mile radius.

This morning my 3-year-old Lenovo ThinkPad would not turn on. It was just dead. I drove right over to the Computer Cellar. I was going to leave it there for them to look at, but the head guy came out of his workroom and said dont leave. He called the other guys over and showed them how to fix this quirky playing dead thing that ThinkPads do sometimes. It took maybe 10 minutes and it was fixed. They didnt charge me. I love this place. Everyone is so incredibly nice and they are awesomely knowledgeable. My husband and I use them for all of our computer needs.

They couldnt fix my laptop (no fault of theirs), but did offer some very good advice.

Ive been having printer connectivity issues for some time, and finally contacted this company to see if they could fix the problem. They initially tried remote connection with my computer, to try to analyze the issue. This is a new service they offer, and they charge by the hour in 15 minute increments. They narrowed it down to a few possible issues, and recommended I bring the printer in to confirm. Unfortunately, they confirmed what I had suspected at the beginning, the printer is just ready to be retired. They acknowledged that they were unable to fix the problem, and charged me less as a result. Good, honest employees, knowledgeable about various operating systems and hardware. Ill definitely use their services again if I have another computer issue!Incidentally, if you go to their location on 9th Street be forwarned that their entrance is around back, so youll want to go down to the next light, turn there, and turn down the alley that goes behind the building to get to their parking lot. Much closer and more convenient for carrying equipment in if you park there instead of on the street.

I brought in my laptop on Monday because the fan was so loud it got worrisome. I brought it in and apparently dust had built up to the point that the fan was having trouble turning easily. Since I worked from home, I was worried that I would have to leave my laptop. But they were so quick that they were able to clean out the dust and I walked out with my laptop after half an hour. Very professional, and nice people to chat with. They also have interesting displays of old timey computers and devices that you can read while you wait.It is now Friday and my computer has not given me any more problems. It even runs a bit better now, which I dont know if that was the dust or just needed a golden touch. Very thankful for The Computer Cellar!

Wow! I cant say enough great things about this place! I decided to go here after Apple quoted me $815 to get new speakers. Computer Cellar did it for less than $100!!! They were great to work with and wonderful customer service. I thought they did a great job of communicating well. I got a text when the parts were ready to be installed. Really great experience! The people there were super helpful. My MacBook Pros screen suddenly went black and they were quick to tell us what the problem is. Apparently more recent versions of MacBook designs contain a lot of irreplaceable parts that only Apple can fix after 2016. And they started using this ribbon cable that is attached to the screen that is super thin and breaks with just normal usage of opening and closing the screen. They told me they see a lot of these problems and that we need to send it to Apple for repair. They even lent me a cable to connect to an external monitor so we could backup my data. They were super helpful and knowledgeable to diagnose the problem and didnt charge anything. I really appreciate their honestly and helpfulness, and would definitely go to them in the future if I have anything that they can repair.

I was so pleasantly surprised by the prompt, courteous service that Anthony and Gabriel provided. They answered the phone right away, were able to give me an estimate of how much time it would take after they saw the computer, and even provided me with the ability to text them if I had any questions throughout the day. My iMac was becoming very slow and I couldn’t diagnose the problem, even after more than an hour on the phone with Apple. I finally brought it to the Computer Cellar. They needed one minute to correctly identify the problem as a failing hard drive. Even though it was a Friday afternoon, they fixed it before they closed, for much less than Apple would have charged. My computer died & I freaked out because its an 8 year old antique Mac book that the Apple Store wont touch. Im so glad the Apple Store doesnt offer repairs now that Ive found this place!!! Its so conveniently located! I no longer need to make an appointment online or drive from Downtown to Southpoint to attempt to have my computer looked at. When I called to inquire about services a human being answered the phone! I didnt need an appointment, I could come in at my convenience, which was 15 minutes after I made the phone call! The customer service & affordability are amazing!!! The problem with my computer ended up being pretty simple, my power cord had a short in it. Andre was able to sell me a new one, but he went above and beyond to check out a few other concerns of mine. He also helped me with replacing the battery, I can now use my computer without it being plugged in! Andre also assisted me with purchasing an external hard drive and explained to me how to use it with Apples Time Machine software to back up my computer in case my antique does eventually die. My mom and I waited in the shop while he checked everything out and in addition to answering all of my random curious questions Andre and the rest of the staff were warm and friendly! Thank you!!!

I brought my PC to Intralex for a problem I was having. They told me, without diagnosing the problem, that it would be at least 2-3 weeks before they even looked at it.I brought my PC to Computer Cellar, and they immediately diagnosed the problem, fixed my PC, and returned it to me within 3 HOURS, the same DAY! Really nice guys, great service, cool store. Don’t go anywhere else for PC/Mac service.

I spilled half a bottle of kabocha on my mac . Tried a home fix but made it worse. I called these guys after reading a bunch of good reviews and they put those reviews to shame as it only took a few hours to fix my problem. I am very grateful for the attention and efficiency you took on my case.

Very friendly staff! I spilled water on my MacBook Air and the screen was very dim. I took it to the Computer Cellar to get the screen fixed. They did the diagnostics test on it and figured out that the backlight had to be fixed, but told me I need to get fixed somewhere else. The diagnostics cost $50, but since they werent able to offer a repair they made a discount for me. Thank you!

I contacted them inquiring about a dented Macbook pro cover which unfortunately, they were not able to fix, but they were very pleasant and informative throughout our interaction. After going to Apple at Southpoint to try and get my laptop repaired, I decided to check out the Computer Cellar. Apple quoted me a week and $475 to get my laptop repaired. I brought it into the Computer Cellar and they had my laptop up and running in 10 minutes and charged me WAYYY less. I highly recommend them.

The folks here took care of me, went above and beyond in their attention to my macbook, were fairly priced (no attempts at upselling), AND had it done in just a few hours at that. I am a student so my life relies on my computer (plus money is tight, haha) so this meant a lot to me. Hopefully will not need computer repairs anytime soon but if I do I will be returning to the computer cellar

Went in with a business laptop yesterday after receiving a phone consultation from Computer Cellar. These folks are experts.
