I had a great experience with Dave’s Towing. My insurance company didn’t specify to Dave’s that my car was stuck in a parking garage so The towing service sent a truck that couldn’t clear it. Dave’s quickly sent a new truck and when it got here, it was off in less than 5 minutes. Super friendly, efficient and professional!

Daves was dispatched to me by AMA roadside assistance when I got two flat tires. They arrived within 20 mins of my call (original eta was 90 mins), were fast, courteous, and treated my car like it was there own. In the past, tow companies have made me cringe as they handled my vehicle without any care, but these guys were so gentle and made sure not to scrap my low-profile car as they drove it onto the truck. Definitely the best towing experience Ive had.

They arrived about 20 minutes before the estimated arrival time, and were very efficient with getting my vehicle loaded and to its destination. Service was friendly and an overall pleasant experience.

When your insurance company dispatches a tow company be sure to read the reviews before accepting the company. If I had read the reviews on this company, I never wouldve let them tow my vehicle. The original dispatch time was 1 hour. After 1 hour I called and the lady told me we put you on the back burner since you said you left the key. She then proceeded to say the tow driver would be there in another 30 minutes he decided to do another tow. My insurance company had another tow company on standby that would have been there in 30 minutes as well. I gave Daves the benefit of the doubt that they would be on time the second time yet ANOTHER HOUR went by and still no tow truck. I called the lady in the office again she said he will be there in 5 minutes. Guess what? 15 minutes go by and still no driver. Instead of them being courteous enough to say they wont be able to get to me for 2 hours so I could use another tow company, they preferred to provide bad service just to make them more money.

William with Daves Tow-Away was on time and super nice! He attempted to diagnose my car trouble and check some basics things to see if there was any quick fix before loading my vehicle up to be towed. I appreciated his patients and flexibility towing out of a very congested and active parking lot. Would recommend 10/10

The tow truck driver was so so so amazing, super nice and friendly no complaints on him at all. However, if you have an issue after a tow and call them be prepared to get a horrible attitude from the lady that answers the phone. She was extremely rude to me and my fiancé, I will say I had to get an attitude back with her because she was acting so unprofessional. Instead of looking into my issue and trying to work together to fix it she instantly got defensive and down right rude with me.

Our car died unexpectedly this past weekend, and our insurance assigned this company to tow our car. I cant stress just how quick, professional, and friendly the service was; our uber hadnt arrived by the time the tow came, and the driver waited with us for the extra few minutes until we were safely in the car. I hope we dont have to be towed again! But if we do, Im relieved to know wed be in good hands.Thank you!

Overall customer service is lacking. Very short with us. I was not happy with customer service. I called to speak about it and didn’t get any kind of concern. I’ve worked in customer service my entire life. When I make a mistake or someone complains I always go out of my way to apologize and make it right. This was not the case.

Wish I could give zero stars. This company was called out to tow our car by my insurance company. First off they were late, it took them over an hour and a half to get to our car. We got a ride home in the meantime. They called us, very rudely, demanding if we were going to pay the $96 for mile overage or they would have to tow it and we would still owe the $96 plus tow storage fee. I asked if I could call him back after I consulted with our insurance because we were quoted $16 not $96 and it was a 24 mile drive, not the 44 miles he was yelling at me about, and he said absolutely. My insurance company quickly cancelled the tow with them and reassigned another company to tow us. That new tow driver called us that the car was gone. This place towed it without our permission and never even contacted us. Which is against the policy procedures with our insurance company. Then they said we would need to pay to get it out of storage and it would have to wait until tomorrow. Thankfully our insurance company resolved it. Such a mess and an unnecessary nightmare.

My daughter woke up on a Sunday morning, truck packed to drive across country, and a flat tire. She had to be at flight school for the day and was planning on leaving early Monday morning. I called Daves Tow-Away and made arrangements for them to change the tire without anyone being at her home. The tow truck driver arrived promptly, changed the tire, moved some of her packed personal belongings from the back of the truck to the front seat, so he could fit the tire in the back and she wouldnt have to try and lift it. He left her keys with the neighbor. He was a rock star. Thank you so much!

I’ve used Dave’s multiple times over the past 22 years. I recall waiting a few times but never longer than a couple hours which I was told the wait time. I’ve even called multiple tow companies and Dave’s seems to get there first.Latrell helped me in 2020 on a busy Sunday night. His empty rollback was on its way back from Raleigh to Chapel Hill so he changed course to help me in South Durham. Latrell was courteous, tried everything to help me avoid a tow, and, once we concluded the tow was inevitable, was efficient, courteous, and fun/positive.As far as tow truck companies go, Dave’s operators have always been safe, reliable, and friendly. I can’t remember a time when I’ve been happy to need a wrecker...and imagine no one is happy when in need ... but Dave’s employees have always been professional and friendly helping me make the best of an inopportune situation.

A lot of confusion. One of their drivers operated deceptively in a simple roadside assistance call to GEICO that turned into a 3 day nightmare just trying to get my car towed to my hotel after the transmission went out, and screamed at my wife about paying a bill that we didnt owe. The job was given to another company, but the driver impounded the vehicle, and then held it for ransom after the tow was already cancelled. GEICO and Daves Tow Away got it worked out, and my car is in my hotels parking lot now.

Car was towed from a parking lot that had no signs about towing. I called and was told it would be $35 per day. When I called the next day they said they only take cash and it would be $255!! Thats highway robbery. $185 to tow a car 5 miles. Rediculous!! Now I am sti waiting for someone to show up to release the car. Said they would be here 15 minutes ago.

I had my car towed from an auto shop to my home while I was at work. Once I got home I saw the car on the sidewalk. I call Daves tow away back to inform them of what happened. The guy was extremely rude and unprofessional. He did not listen to me. He proceeded to keep telling me he couldnt hear me. Once he said he could hear me he told me hed call me back. Once he called me back he told me I was a liar and that he was not going to move the car. He yells at me and says call your roadside assistance to move your car and hung up on me. Daves tow away is awful, poor work ethic, no professionalism, lack of care and bad business all around.

Have been waiting for a tow for over 2 hours in the middle of the road. The tow truck driver called an hour ago to let me know he would be there in 13 min when he never showed I called there office and they said he went to take care of another tow and they would have no idea when he would be done. This company has horrible reviews for a reason. The main reason I’m writing the review is because how rude one of the women in the office was to me over the phone. Horrible service and rude employees. Don’t waist your time with this company. Call another tow company!

Hey everyone. Just wanted to let everyone know about Emily? before you decided to tow. I could’ve sworn her name was Amy or Amanda, so Emily, if there’s an Amy or Amanda then I apologize because it’s not you. However, if it is you, then you owe me an apology. I have never in my life received such terrible service ANYWHERE. EVER. First off, I waited 2 hours (when estimated time was an hour) before she even called the tow man to come get me. Every time I called to get an updated ETA, I was patient and nice. She was short with me every time. She said she’d have the tow guy call me, then I had to wait 30 mins before he even called me. Now we’re at 2.5 hours. I said this is BS to the man, because he told me he had another car on his trailer he still has to drop off before he can come get me, and he’s stuck in stand still traffic. Ridiculous. He said he’s just the tow man and it’s the companies issue, I apologized, hung up, and told him I’d take itUp with the company. I called my insurance company so they’re aware of the service the company they referred provided. Emily then called me, cussing and yelling st me so loud for the way I talked to the tow man (again, all I said was this is BS) and I couldn’t even get a word out of my mouth to say anything to her. She proceeds to say that she can talk way louder than me, I told her I’m cancelling, which she probably didn’t hear because she was yelling so loud, then hung up on me while I was still talking. What type of company allows the receptionist to talk to a customer who has already waited 2.5 hours like this? Obviously one that is terribly ran. Not to mention, she knew I was in a hospital parking garage.. what if my husband had just died that day, or my son got diagnosed with cancer? No respect or regard for anyone. If you want to avoid any issues, go to a different company.

I have used Dave’s in the past but never left a review. Well today, I felt compelled to leave one. The dispatcher was friendly and courteous with my problem. She gave me a time when the truck would be there and was only off by about 5 minutes. (My fault, directions were a little sketchy. Haha) Super friendly driver, again, very courteous.Never had a bad experience with Dave’s. Although, I hate to have to call them, I always trust it will be a good experience.Jason T.

Dave’s rowing is absolutely horrible.....they lie to you, and act as if they know nothing when they have documentation sent to them... I’d never recommend this service to anyone! Please find yourself another tow company before they raise your blood pressure sky high...

If I could do no star I would. Long story short, took 3 hours to arrive after being told multiple times that they would arrive within 10-20 minutes. Meanwhile it got dark, on side of the road, with my 2 year old. I made sure to let Geico know that they should never dispatch this company again.While I appreciate the response from the company, their comment of me being at a residence, it was not mine. I stopped on the side of the road and gave the address to a house that I was near. Mind you I had my 2 year old daughter. So while I was not on a highway, I WAS NOT at my house and was stranded for over 3 hours waiting when the original estimate was 45 min.

I was involved in an accident on Hillsborough Road in Durham during the evening rush hour. Company dispatcher had a tow truck to my rescue in approximately 30 minutes. In fact, the driver was on the scene before the police officer finished writing up the report. The tow truck driver was very polite and helpful to me as a nervous mom with a young scared son. Im a driver at Daves Tow-A-Way and have been for 3+ years, all in all we are a wonderful company family oriented though we do be late sometimes we get backed up sometime holding 20- 40 calls Durham is a big city and a county so we do are best to take each and every call in a timely professional manner. Just got towed by Demetrius (sorry if I spelled that wrong.) he was super polite and helpful. State Farm quoted us 40 minutes and he got there in less than ten. Made a bad situation a little less stressful. Keep him around!!

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever seen. I called to pay for the towing of my sisters car because she is in a pickle and I am trying to help her out. But they only except cash you have to have the owner with you as well. What the heck difference is it if its cash or card or if the owner is there or not. You except card for towing services at the scene it makes zero sense not to be able to pay with a card for any other transaction?

Company cancelled tow service request without notifying customer after customer waited over an hour for tow truck.

My experience with Dave’s Towing was terrible. I first waited for 2 hours for them to find a driver just to call back and be told they haven’t found one yet. The receptionist was also snarky and rude and once I told her that I would find someone else to tow my car, she cursed me out! I’ve never received as terrible a service as this in my whole life. Never again.

Disappointing. I called to confirm pick up after my insurances road side assistance contacted them. The young woman that answered the phone was dismissive and became irritated when I asked questions. I called and had that service cancelled and made sure my insurance company was aware of the horrible attitude and customer service.

One of your tow truck drivers was driving on August 4th at approximately 5:50 exiting 312 on I40 and turned at a red light into traffic with a truck loaded and almost caused an accident and hen proceeded to road rage with a family!!! You should really look into hiring better quality people!

Was sent out by nationwide to move my car and all they cared about was why it was sitting where it was. They were so disrespectful and they were upset that it was in the middle of the night. Wish I could give ONE STAR BECAUSE they literally did nothing.

One of your drivers stopped to help me change my tire. He didnt have to do that he was just being genuinely kind. It speaks volumes about the culture of the company. Will always call Daves for my future towing needs.
