This is my regular mechanic. The guys here always seem honest and fair. Works has always been of good quality. Pricing is always good when compared to other shops in the area. When something is outside their area of expertise, they have made good recommendations of other shops in the area.

I recently went to get my oil changed here a few months ago. Today, to my surprise, my car was saying that my oil needed to be changed soon. After looking at the mileage that my car displayed and comparing it to the sticker Igor had written, I noticed that the sticker was incorrectly labeled. The sticker read that I had an additional 1,000 miles to go until my next oil change. I called Igor and expressed my issue. I inquired if I should follow what the sticker says or abide by what my car is saying. He responded “Go by what your car is saying. I must’ve written down the wrong number.” I said okay, and asked, “If I come in to get yet another oil change. Is there any type of discount I can receive for the incorrect labeling.” He responded “I said come in and get another oil change, but if your looking for a discount then don’t come here!” And hung the phone up. This was one of THE most upsetting incidents I have had. Between myself and other family members, we have been going to Igor’s shop to get all of our maintenance issues taken care of for the past 7 years. After what happened today. Myself nor my parents and six sisters, who all have vehicles, will be returning to Igor shop to get anything and will be taking our business elsewhere. This was the most hurtful and disrespectful experience EVER! Do NOT go to this mechanic shop. Igor is driven by money and complete lacks customer service for his customers and accountability for himself when he makes a mistake!

They replaced my tire this afternoon and everything about the experience was excellent. The guy I spoke to on the phone before arriving was really helpful with figuring out my tire size and was realistic about the time they would need to get it done. The mechanic who worked on my car pointed out some other minor issues it had, but wasn’t pushy at ALL about getting it fixed right away. He was also incredibly helpful and answered so many (probably silly) questions of mine without being condescending, and he even gave me tips and tricks on how to maintain my car in the future. I can’t thank this guy enough. I wish I had remembered to get their names! Their pricing was also really reasonable. I will definitely be coming back and recommending them to others!

Top notch mechanics who know their stuff! As a woman, I trusted them, to figure out something 3 other mechanics couldn’t. I was treated with respect from Ahmed at the front desk, to everyone in the garage. Wendell solved the mystery (knowledgeable process of deduction) that no one else could solve. They are good with very inexpensive charges to fix your vehicle. But this one time I told them my car could not start. They told me it will take a few days to diagnose and I agreed. Later told me its starting and working, but will still check car properly, inspecting things and diagnose to to see if anything is odd. When I came back to pick my car up, car still not working. Apparently they never checked it and said they couldnt check it because it was working at the time but now its not working when I got there, so why make me leave my car and not do anything on it other than check to see if its starting but tell me it will be checked and inspected properly regardless. I was very unhappy because I was going out of time and gave them a week to see if they could fix it and kept calling but reassured it will be looked at. Worst of all is I had to get my car towed back to my house cause they said they cant fix it, only to get my remote key entry missing all its buttons with a tape around it. Went back to talk to owner and he said I was trying to rip him off that no one did anything to my key. Never again.

I had been visiting AWs Auto Service since 2013 (though at times I didnt go there for oil change only because my timing challenges). They are highly knowledgeable and they treat with utmost care and respect. The prices are very reasonable and they never over charge and give only viable recommendations. They also helped my friend in getting a good car. They were very accommodating several times when I needed their service though its late for them.I highly recommend this place to every one.

Been going to AWs for at least 8 years. Their strengths are pricing.. communication and sense of urgency.My car has never been there twice for the same problem..never been there longer than promised or more than quoted. In fact... I often show up and my bill is less than quoted.No coffee or TV in the lobby..no fancy floors or building. Just great mechanics. If you have a Honda ask for Igor.

I just love Igor. He spent an hour and a half of his time just to talk to me about my vehicle. He even put McGuire’s on my headlights and made them look brand new. When I told him what I needed done, he let me know what was unnecessary and what wasn’t, and then after looking at my engine he recommended I change a worn-out belt that he noticed. I came in for a tune-up and transmission troubleshooting, but I think he looked at everything because he even mentioned the condition of my brakes. He also showed me how Firestone had overtightened and stripped the screw to my oil pan. He said it took him 20 minutes to remove it. My car runs like a dream now. A man of integrity, Igor rocks.

We had a tire blow out and there service was quick and friendly, good prices. The only issue is the smell of the lobby and the man who works at the register seems to be short with you.

Honest, knowledgeable and patient. What more could you ask more. My first time there and they help solved my inspection problem without charging me a dollar extra. Really nice to find a place you can trust. Listening to them take the time to explain to each customer the cheapest course of action without suggesting their own business was quite a surprise.

I was a regular customer of this place. The owner and the mechanics are very honest and ask for reasonable labor+parts cost. I usually do my research before going into any auto shop, and they always gave a reasonable quote. Also, if I ask questions, they provide many options. Sometimes they will even tell me that I dont need to fix minor things. I am moving to another state, and I will have to try so hard to find an auto shop like this... Long story short, I highly recommend this place.

The owner was very rude for absolutely no reason.

The service is above reproach and very friendly. They even tell you to use fuel additive from Walmart instead of getting a $250 fuel system cleaning.

I found AW just browsing online, needed my rusted gas lines repaired. Got a quote from a dealer for over $600..went to Igor and fixed it for way less than that! $400 less! It did take a while for it to be fixed but I completely understood! Upon arrival Igor explained how he fixed it and I left knowing that quality work has been done to my vehicle! I will be a returning customer for as long as I am in Durham for anything service related! Thanks guys!

Stopped by today for an oil change / air filter replacement. Charged me $60, which I felt was very reasonable. They were done within 45 minutes. Pleased with their service and will be using them again!

Fast, cheap inspection

Excellent staff. Very transparent. After taking my pickup to the Honda dealer and they said I needed to replace the brakes on the back wheels, I brought it to them for a second opinion. They took me into the shop and showed me that the brakes were fine and that there was enough buildup to prove that the Honda dealership didnt even open it up to take a look. Ive always been treated well there and its always been a good experience.

We were in a bind with our work truck having blown a belt and we were 35 minutes from home and around the corner from these guys and called and asked to use a jack they were more than willing to help us out and once we got there they had a tire that fit! I stopped by to introduce myself as a local business owner and was abruptly dismissed by an angry and very disrespectful Indian man. I later learned that he was the owner. The moment he discovered that I was not there for car repair service he became very short and told me to get out of his shop. I was shocked and offended by his behavior. I often walk into small businesses unannounced, so I understand that time is not set aside for me. However this does not excuse a business owner from being nasty. For the most part, small business owners in Raleigh-Durham are pleasant and generous with their time, especially when approached by a fellow business owner. The owner needs to learn that respect is not based on how much a person is giving to you or your business. It’s based on common decency.

AW is a very nice man, I take both my cars there for inspection every year and dont have to wait long. And hes fair in price.

This is a fantastic independent garage. They take tough jobs and deliver quality work. Prices are far better than you will find at any franchise.

I want to preface by saying that this is not actually a review of service provided. I wish it was, but I can only hear we know wed said we could do it at this time but we cant so many times before giving up.I called on Thursday needing my headlight replaced and knowing that it was a less than quick job (my compact engine means that the entire assembly has to be removed in order for the headlight to be replaced) and asked when a good time on Friday would be. I was told any time. Called back on Friday around 1:00 to find out if it was an okay time and given a tepid okay, but when I arrived I was told they were unable to that day, but said that if I came in on Monday theyd find the time.I left work early on Monday around 11:30 and called them as I did so, asking when a good time was. I was told 1:00. I arrived at 1:00 but was informed that they couldnt get to it until 2:00. I left and came back again at 2:00 but was told that they would be unable to do it at all that day.I understand that things pop up or take longer than anticipated sometimes, but after three times being told Id be able to have my job done only for them to not have the time Ive run out of patience and time.

The service was good but my car look like it had been trashed, All my papers from my glove department was in the floor. My back seat was laid down and you could see in the trunk from the back seat.

I came for a tire once they were freindly and efficient. So i decided to come back i was quoted 1400 for the work it only came to 800 and because i had budget the 1400 i was able to get all brand new tires which was desperately needed

This place is great, fair prices, great service, and they really know what they are doing. Igor is an amazing mechanic. They dont pressure you into services you dont need. They sell tires and windshield wipers and their oil changes are inexpensive and fast.

I went to the shop to get a tire inspected. The first agent was very pleasant and told me that it would be a while but then advised me that if I wanted to use the hose I could to attempt to put air in the tire. I tried but one of the tires wouldnt hold air. I then tossed the hose back towards the garage and one agent and the owner came out and asked me why I did that. I told them I was just putting the hose on the ground and didnt realize part of it could be damaged. Then one of the managers comes out and says why did I do that? I told him I guess I was just uneducated. Then he tells me goodbye as if I dismissed and I can leave and they dont want to service my vehicle. Kind of disappointed...I mean Im not a mechanic and the fact that they were completely unsympathetic and wanted to act like I did intentionally was disheartening. There are plenty of places I can spend my money and I guarantee it wont be here. Thanks to the first mechanic though for being so helpful.

Awesome service! I needed an inspection for my car and when I went in they said there were a few in front of me and offered to call when they were ready for me. They called and got me in and out.They could not have been nicer.

NEVER GO HERE!!! ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A WOMAN!!! My girlfriends car broke down right down the street from this place and some people helped push her car here. I was at work so I could not assist her, but she told me everything they did.The staff (all men) were very flirtatious and one of them told her that her service would be free if she took her shirt off. The complete lack of professionalism is astounding and the only reason I did not drive down there and give them a piece of my mind is because I do not want to go to prison... And to top it all off they told her that she had corrosion on the battery terminal (which is highly unlikely because I just got her a BRAND NEW battery less than two weeks ago) so they fixed the problem and overcharged her for something that they didnt even need to fix. If I could give this zero stars as a review then I would!

About 10% cheaper than the other shops and 300% worst than any other repair shops, I called in advance for 2 tire installation (12/30/16) got a quote and asked them how long it takes, the indian fellow who calls himself AW told me 45 minutes, went to the shop . talk to the same guy, this time he told me will be at least 3 hrs or more. BUYER BE AWARE DO NOT GO TO AWS IF U NEED AN HONEST HEPAIR SHOP. THERE ARE BETTER CHOICES.

I went to have a tire put in my car, mechanic put the WRONG size car on my AWD Ford Fusion. I went back to the shop after my transfer case went out with the correct documentation and they refused to own up to it. The mechanic admitting to putting the wrong size tire on my car. I went and filed a small claims suit against them and I WON!! They lied, came unprepared and tried to disgrace me. The total repairs to my car came to over $4000.00. I went without a car for a month. I will never refer them, use them again. Now they want to appeal the case and Im ready for them.

Quick and easy

Igor and the owner are both very ignorant and rude I told them I had a anti freeze leak Igor told me it was 2 hoses that cost me $260 and then I was charged $150 for the labor 1 day later my antifreeze was still leaking I came back and asked what did I just pay for if Im still having the same problem the owner said its under warranty so just bring the car back next week and they will fix the problem so when I bring the car back he act like he never told me anything and now they are telling me well when you fix hoses on cars that sometimes you fix one hose and then it makes the other hoses go bad so just pay for another hoes and we will put it on! So I asked him what was the point of you telling me that you guys will fix the problem because it was under warranty and Igor says I am lying and he will not work on my car no more ! I wanted to slap skin off his face for being so disrespectful to me I will never recommend or go back to that place I just wasted my money!I will never respect that owner for looking me in my eyes and telling me we will fix the problem sorry it is under warranty we will get it corrected and then turned around a week later and says I dont remember saying anything to you that is horrible customer service what kind of business owner does that and then let Igor yell at me and disrespect me as if I said something wrong and they got my money!

OReillys from down the street recommended this place to me about a year ago. These guys are honest and fair. I have found their prices are typically 30% less then the price of a dealership service shop. Ive got 5 cars with 100,000 to 200,000 miles, and they handled repairs with ease on them - 1987 Mercedes 420 SEL, 2001 Honda Odyssey, 2006 Buick Lacrosse, 2008 Ford E-350 15 passenger van, and 2005 Toyota Maxtrix. They have also talked me out of some repairs, telling me I dont need a certain repair that another shop said should be done, explaining why it can wait, or why a different solution will be better in the long run, or even telling me how to perform the repair myself. These guys are friendly and willing to give advice. I highly recommend these guys. They also sell tires at a very fair price.

Just happened to stop by because my truck has a check engine light on and it was making a weird noise. Igor came out, stopped what he was doing and spent about 20 minutes looking at my truck. He reset the check engine light and assured me my truck would be ok to drive for now. He didnt push me to bring it in the shop and he didnt charge me anything to look at it. Please be very careful. It feels like u are paying less here for your auto service than in firestone or midas. But u get what u pay for in dealership /firestone.In this auto shop, they will make you pay by repairing unnecessary things or even worst make you pay for things which are not even damaged before. Same thing happened to me recently!!! They screwed my electrical system while fixing my car. At first they said they will fix it. Now they cannot fix it are saying they are not liable for it. Really pissed. Next time, i wont mind paying double for the service in dealership, at least i will have peace of mind..
