I waited over 45 min for someone to show up at the counter to pick up the car I had rented ahead of time on line. I called the 800 number to see if they could help. The only response I got from them is there is a sign up that says we will be right back so maybe someone will show up soon. If you have a choice use any other car rental place! This was my first time ever renting a car and if I ever have to do it again I will NEVER use this place.
Reservation was easy as well as the check in and check out. The car was great had no issues with anything.
It was a fast, smooth, and positive transaction. Your employee was extremely pleasant and made the experience fun and pain free. :)
Service was great, easy, and professional. The car we rented was clean and very nice.
The clerk checking us in was very kind and helpful with directions. The vehicle was awesome and perfect for the area.
Avis was great! We have rented from them several times at this airport in Durango. This trip we were stuck in DFW at a lay over and got in at 12:15am. Phil was there to greet us with a smile on his face! We were so thankful they had been watching our delays and waiting for us and the others on our flight.
They were very friendly and professional. The only reason I gave a 9 was because the oil light came on saying it needed an oil change on the day we got it. Otherwise they were great.
It was quick and friendly service. Yes I would tell a friend of great service from AVIS.
Best service!! They accommodated us when in need; flight was canceled and we still had time on the rental, so they were so generous to let us take the car back and use it for the rest of day till my next flight. I will always rent from Avis when visiting Durango because of customer service they have! 😊
I accidently booked a car in Mexico, while they didnt have an excess of cars they were able to accommodate me quite well. Thank you Avis!
Nothing but problems.... Please contact me 7
Everything was wonderful with the rental. Great vehicle and seamless experience. The only thing that would have been helpful would be a snow brush and scraper because it snowed while we were on rental.
Your car parkers have some serious skills! Threading the needle of parked cars like a boss! His cheerful disposition as he threatened to call security on me for parking in the avis spots did little to take away from the glow I was feeling watching his mad parking skills.Def a 10 out of 10! Good job! 👍👍👍Wanted to make sure you could put a name with the license plate number incase that helped you achieve whatever your goal was taking that information.Would have given a 5th star but his returned good job I felt was less than sincere, unlike mine. 👈😎👉
Very convenient, quick and easy pick up and drop off.
Rental and return were quick and simple.
The agent in Durango went out of his way to get me a vehicle that would make my Colorado experience the best it could be. He was very nice and made me feel like he was really happy I was using Avis.
Got in too late but didnt gauge me for a ridiculous late fee. Were very enjoyable to speak to the young man behind the desk had my wife constantly laughing and removed her stress. The Lancaster Ca location that rented the car to us were just as Amazing.Thank You So Much
The vehicle was dirty and obviously not cleaned out after the previous person rented it and I found that to be odd with Covid-19 I would think the car would be cleaned.
The gentleman at the counter was awesome! Super kind, quick pick up and drop off and gave me no problems. I tried out Avis after having such a terrible experience from enterprise and I’m glad I did!
With continued reliance on AVIS, the company over the years has been able to provide the necessary resources to complete business, personal, and military obligations.
Long story short our flight was canceled and re routed. I was an hour and 20 min past the agreed upon return. I was expecting to be charged an hourly or prorated rate instead I was informed that Avis does not do this and there was nothing they could do about it. Got another hundred bucks charged on the card. Use enterprise
Your company is terrible our experience with you guys sucked and I did post on Facebook not to rent from you guys
Staff is courteous and helpful. The check in process was easy and efficient.
Jennifer at the airport was able to help me when my company’s system canceled my reservation. She was incredibly helpful and got me everything I needed. Thank you, Jennifer!
Avis have charged me for an additional days rental when I was unable to return the vehicle on time due to the location closing early, at 4 pm instead of 6 pm. I am very unhappy about the customer service I have received from your company.
Very friendly and helpful local staff in Durango. The mobile app makes reserving and turning in the vehicle very easy. Thank you Avis for making our trip effortless.
My car was ready in less than one minute, BUT it was dirty, had bald tires and 33,000 miles. There was a hole in the carpet under the drivers heel about 3 inches in diameter. Hey guys lets upgrade these cars. You are not renting the cars for half price, they should not be half used up.
Easy rental process and excellent value for the money. My car was almost have the price of Hertz and was much nicer than I thought I paid for (paid for a full size Ford Fusion, got a Lincoln MKZ instead!). Highly recommend. Staff worked till well after closing to make sure I was still able to get my car after a long delay on my incoming flight!
Very happy with vehicle for our fly fishing trip. I left my wallet in the vehicle and didnt notice it until I returned home. The Avis staff located it, called me back, and shipped it back home to me. Cant say how much I appreciate the friendly and honest staff!
Thank you Avis for taking such good care of me! You guys are the best! The car was amazing! The staff is always friendly and helpful.I definitely recommend you to anyone & everyone! See ya next time!
Our rental broke down yesterday in Durango, CO. We have been on the phone with Avis Roadside Assistance since yesterday afternoon. What it all boils down to is they will not provide us with substitute transportation until they find tow service for under $700!!! There is an Avis agency 18 miles down the road with a car but will not release it to us until the car broken car is towed. We will be filing a lawsuit for lost time of transportation and reimbursement for prepaid lift tickets, snow mobile rentals and skis.It all boils down to a tow bill instead of safety for 2 adults and 2 children!
Nothing but a positive experience from start to finish
Not opened when I was scheduled to pick up my car. Employee could care less that he was 45 minutes late to work. A simple pardon my lateness or an apology would have gone a long way.
I have never been charged mileage on my one way rental via my discount option. I had $hock@check out!!Avis has always been my choice and the brand I send all my customers to when I commute home to Durango. I hope your policy changes!Bob Phillips the agent in Durango was a complete professional.
If zero start was an option I would chose that. I was charged for extra insurance and never agreed to the purchase. Avis has been less than helpful in this matter. The sales guy at the counter added the insurance without ever asking me or indicating that my prepaid rental would cost any extra money. I have full coverage insurance and never needed nor would I have agreed to the charges. I am so upset that a company can get away with this robbery. I feel taken advantage of, I paid 500 for the rental and now they want to charge me another 500 for extra coverage I never agreed to or was told I would be charged for. When calling corporate to dispute the charges I was called a liar and even though they though it was weird I was signed up for all four extra coverage charges and normally that is not done, I must have agreed to it and they cant help me. I would never recommend Avis to anyone.
Helpful girl at the counter, in and out in less than 10 minutes. 0800 and was not busy at all.
Can I leave a negative star? Ive drove vehicles that are twenty years old that drove better than the 2016 Kia Rio I rented from Avis. Tires that have no tread left, I mean ridiculously bald, in Colorado?! It would be one thing if i rented this in California with crystal clear weather.... But instead im driving through Wolfs Creek Pass which equates too some of the worst roads in the nation, at the worst time of year, in the worst car possibly imaginable. Long story short I almost slid off the road and had zero traction. Nice 8 hour white knuckle drive in a bright yellow piece of junk car. Not only that, but the front bumper wasnt entirely secured and shook the entire car at highway speeds. One of the hub cabs had a large piece missing, extraordinary amount of hood stone chips and rear bumper scuffs from luggage....this car was beat to death. Not only that but the center console was missing, so a nice long trip with no arm rest equals one sore butt check. Speaking of sore butts, thanks for bending me over on the rate, which was over $200.00 for a piece of junk. Will tell everybody imaginable in my line of work (which is a Collision shop) that your better off doing ANYTHING else.
The car interior had a strong odor from an air freshener. I thought it would dissipate between rolling down the windows and all the heat, however, it didnt. The strong, unpleasant smell ruined the experience. Despite that, it was a convenient rental. Love the onsite parking at DRO!
Car smelled of smoke. Agent was not to be found. Avis is usually very good.
I rented a car from the Durango airport location on 11/17/2017 and noticed a crack in the windshield when returning the vehicle. In full disclosure, my fiancé and I notified the desk agent of the crack. He walked out with us and informed us that any small spidering area will crack when exposed to the mountain altitude and temperatures. He stated we would not be responsible for any damages. I received an email two months later on 1/19/18 that I would be charged $184 for the damages. On 1/19/18, I called the number provided in the billing letter. The Customer Service representative instructed me to contact the local location directly. I spoke with a desk agent who informed me he would follow up with my complaint. I did not receive a follow-up phone call. I called the local location again (1/31/18). Again, I spoke with a desk agent who informed me he would follow up with my complaint. I have yet to receive a phone call. I requested the charges ($184) be credited back to my account.
I was amazed at how easy it was to deal with Avis. The pricing was good, the time it took to get from counter to car was around 5 minutes.
Super friendly staff, easy pickup and drop off, great rates.
Vehicle type I reserved well in advance was not available for me. I needed something that could handle unpaved icy roads, and was told I had to settle for a fwd minivan or pay to upgrade above my reservation. Apparently Avis is confused regarding the definition of reserving.
Always a friendly face and he even remembered me from the last rental 3 months prior! such a pleasure to do business here!
Friendly staff, easy logistics, quality car, good value. Ill book with the Durango AVIS agent again.
We rented a car on Monday and while eating dinner a cop put a ticket in our windshield. I went to talk to the coo and he said our registration was out. What kind of trouble could that have caused. I called the airport we rented from at Avis and they had to bring us another vehicle.
Very easy & quick
Thanks Avis for renting a new condition Hundai Santafe. We were in and out of the Durango airport in minutes and on our way to Wolf Creek.A great vehicle at a great price with no hassles.
The Avis staff at Durangos airport were friendly, patient and very knowledgable! Ill be sure to rent with Avis on my next trip into Durango.
Cars in bad conditionsSlow in and out process
Excellent pricing, friendly staff, quality vehicle. Will use Avis again.
Nasty car seat, poor vehicle quality, terrible customer service.
Love the upgrades
When we rented a vehicle from Avis the employee commented that there was some preexisting windshield damage, but that we would not be charged for the damage as it was a preexisting condition. Three months later we were slapped with a bogus $250 repair bill for the preexisting damage. Although the matter was eventually resolved, it was a time sink going back and forth with Avis trying to get resolved. Suggestion: if there is ever any preexisting damage on your rental vehicle, make sure to take a time-stamped photograph of the damage and keep any paperwork that confirms the existence of the damage. Do not rely on the rental company to keep accurate records, so you will need to!
