I called to make a change with my membership and before I could even get the words out of my mouth to explain what I wanted I was rudely interrupted and talked over and not able to explain my request. I asked if I could speak to the manager and she replied she was the manager, her name was Amanda. I can’t believe this person is the manager but then with the lack of qualified workers at this time I understand.Amanda will talk very fast so you can’t get a word in edgewise that’s her game and her only game because she cannot professionally explain herself in a sensible way so she try’s to cancel your voice out as she rambles on and over you.I wouldn’t recommend this place if it was the last place in Dubuque.

If I could give zero stars I would! Associate Adam and the General Manager at the Planet Fitness in Dubuque, IA are extremely rude and unprofessional. I have been a store manager for over 15 years and I would never treat a customer with such disrespect, or tolerate my associates to do so. It is obvious that customer satisfaction is not a priority at this location. Never once did anyone apologize for a policy change or for the miscommunication….I just got attitude. So needless to say, I cancelled my membership after 2 years and will be telling everyone I know to do the same. This is not the only Gym in town!

Ive been working out here for over 2 years. It works for me...the staff is cool, it gets cleaned, and has the equipment I need for my workouts.

Everyone working there and members have been polite and very considerate. No one there judges or causes anyone else problems. Theres plenty to do and they are up to speed with the covid-19 virus and the safety or others. Overall a very pleasant atmosphere to workout at.

I am still very new to Planet Fitness. The experience so far to date has been really positive. Great equipment, it appears all humans using the equipment are keeping it clean after use. Mashing in someone else’s sweat that you’re not intimate with is in short kinda gross.I do not have any negative feedback, only positive experiences.I will update in a few months if need be.

This planet fitness is a scam. I got charged over a 100 dollars total just for 2 months of membership. With their mixture of hidden fees and ancient business practices, you will be paying a lot more than you signed up for at your inconvenience. As someone who is a college student, this is absurd!PS, enjoy being photographed by old men in the locker room as you change.

I go to Kennedy Mall Dubuque and on the plus side it is clean and has alot of equipment. The negative it is in to small of a location. treadmills bikes and elipticals are not spaced out enough.

I haven’t felt out of place yet and the staff in Dubuque has been nothing but cordial, polite, and on top of their job/duties. New to the area and haven’t heard the best things about planet fitness but so far has been nothing but great and you can tell the atmosphere is a good one with plenty of people as well as staff willing to help

Planet Fitness is my favorite place to work out! I go here at least 3 times a week! I enjoy the flexible hours that they are open! I also enjoy connecting my phone through my camera to the LifeFitness Machines and monitoring my exercise without buying any special equipment! The HydroMassage is awesome to relax in after my long workouts!

For the price and amenities, its hard to beat. More crowded than most would like.

Equipment is kept very clean and in good shape. The mens locker room is kept decently clean. I found all of the staff to be very helpful and nice except for Brett. I signed up through him and he was not at all helpful in the process and just stood there looking around looking like he didnt want to be there, pretty rude guy. Overall I would recommend going here though, great atmosphere.

I rated this gym last year a 5 stars but now Im switching my rank to a solid 1 star. The staff obviously dont care to be there and do the absolute bare minimum. Along the lines of COVID theres no regulation, half the people clean their machines and wear masks and half dont clean their machines at all and the staff does nothing. I wouldnt be surprised if everyone in there got COVID, the only thing they are actually doing is social distancing machines and sitting behind the counter on their phones.

I am glad I joined Planet Fitness! It really does feel like a judge free zone! Everyone is so busy doing their own thing. Staff is very pleasant and it is very clesn and well maintained.

This was the planet fitness in the dubuque Iowa. Absolutely better and nicer then the 12 planet fitness gyms within the Chicago land area that i have gone too. Bigger, more machines, and cleaner

Good starter gym. Wish there was more free weight room. As the most crowded part of the gyms its hard to get things done.

Love this gym! Abby was the one who got me signed up and she made sure to show me the ropes, making sure I know which machines are what. Any time I come in, the staff is super helpful. I was really impressed that Abby actually remembered me by name and is always sure to ask me how Im doing and say things like nice workout, or great work today and its really encouraging. I dont think any other gym would feel as welcoming or fun. Ive already brought five of my friends here.

Love this place! Amanda the trainer is awesome. She has a unique story and gives you encouragement and has great classes!!!! I’ve never been a gym goer - but I can’t recommend it enough. The staff is great and it’s clean and well taken of.

This is not a 24/7 gym, though it is open 24hrs on T,W,R. The staff is friendly and their trainer Amanda is very helpful with whatever you need or are trying to do. Taking her class is great because she will vary the workout to fit your level. There are a variety of machines and the extras included with a black card. My biggest concern is that sometimes the shower curtains have mildew and the shower floors are not all clean.

Great price for a well maintained and clean gym. I used this when I was home visiting family for a couple weeks. It was by far the cheapest gym option and also the nicest. The gym was very conveniently located near the center of town and had almost 24/7 hours making it easy to squeeze a work out in between family gatherings. The gym was lacking a few essential items(Row machines), but for the most part had everything I needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The membership was straight forward and reasonably priced. I will definitely use this gym the next time I am home visiting family.

I love Planet Fitness! I’ve been working out here for 3 days a week an hour a day for a couple months now and I have not been disappointed! The staff has been very kind and helpful to me, and has happily answered any questions I have. I see the staff cleaning all the time, ensuring that this is a clean place to workout. There is plenty of cardio and strength equipment, both free weights and machines. There is a wide variety of classes if you are looking to focus on a specific area. I’ll give my props to the trainer who is very understanding and works to ensure that all members are comfortable. There have been several complaints about the wait time at the front desk but I think these people don’t understand that the staff has to both clean and attend to other members. The only reason to get upset at the wait time is if you are both impatient and unreasonable. Overall I give this Planet Fitness a 5 star review and definitely recommended joining!

I been there for almost 3 years and i still like it so much as the beginning. I workouts 3x to 4x a week and every time i go is nothing but great.. few issues with the lockers and the crowd at beginning of the year with their new year resolution but i know they wont last longer than a month.... sad but its real...

Really inviting, classes are fun and energetic equipment Is well maintained and staff are friendly. Its also really affordable and the fact that its 24 hrs works very well with non traditional schedules.

Amanda is an awesome instructor. She really gives you a great work out. She challenges you to improve yourself.

Planet Fitness is an awesome fitness center. We were so impressed by the cleanliness and friendliness we started offering our employees memberships. The team loves it! They can stop over for a quick workout during the lunch hour as a group.

Its alright for a Planet Fitness. The staff is friendly the place is clean, but at times it feels too packed. The space feels cramped and not enough area for machines to be spread out. At times when its busy I feel like Im in a sardine can. Overall, I enjoy it I just wish it was bigger.

I think Planet Fitness is a great place to go to workout and stay fit! Lots of equipment for everyone to use for their own fitness programs.

Been a member since I moved back to dubuque a few years back. The location is convenient and hours of operation are quite accommodating. This is the place to go if you want cardio. Although they do not have spin bikes. They have plenty of machines for that! As for strength training, well I know they don’t want “body builders” here but it does lightly accommodate them. Strength machines are limited at two of each. Avoid the busy hours or you have to wait. Plenty of room for stretching and lots of mats. Locker rooms are large in size and handicap accessible. The tanning beds are nice and bulbs changed it seems about every 6 months. Hydro and massage chairs are a big perk for black card members. When I joined it was $19.99 but it is now increased to $22.99. My only issue with that is the the only thing that has changed is the staff. Many times at that. They have a high employee turn over and just when you get to know someone they seem to quit. The newest manager seems to be doing well with staff and cleanliness. They have cooler drinks and protein cookies at the front for purchase. They do not accept cash!!!!!! BRING YOUR OWN GYM TOWEL. They only supply brown paper towels to wipe down your machine. This is not eco friendly and time consuming to have to keep walking back to spray stations. Also, I know they are judgement free, but they don’t have a scale. The class instructor seems educated and excited. Overall they can meet your basic fitness needs.

Was great at first but for over 2 years Ive tried canceling my membership and they continue to bill me even after the period you have to re enroll to stay in the gym. Which I have NEVER REENROLLED . Spoke to a few people who said their manager wasnt in and they would call me back the next day and help. Weird that each time i called their manager wasnt there in mid day early morning or even around closing. Wouldnt recommend joining if you dont want to keep your membership for several years.

I have been an memeber here for a while. Good equipment and all, however while the staff is friendly, in the afternoon I tend to have to sit and wait for the young girls to finish sending a text message before I am able to tan. They tend to leave the counter a lot and I have to stand and wait for a decent amount of time before they come back.

For about the last week or so, I have been coming to planet fitness as my girlfriends guest. I attempted to find out more information about getting my own membership when a short little angry man behind the counter started to flirt with my girlfriend. She told me that he does it to most women who come in and it made both of us so incredibly uncomfortable that today she cancelled her membership and we both signed up for anytime fitness.

Clean and well-organized. Plenty of machines. I never have to wait long to get one I need. The staff is courteous and very helpful.

The staff is always willing to teach you how to use equipment that your unsure of, and they always seem so happy to see you! It makes working out feel less intimidating. The facility is super clean and organized. I love PF!

I signed up for Planet Fitness in July, I ended up falling outside my parents house and had a significant ankle injury, 2 months later Im finally getting around to using my membership. My initial reaction when I walked in was that it looked like a nice place. Cleanly and orderly. I spoke to the girl at the front desk and explained I had signed up for a membership online and had never been there before. She simply gave me a tag to put on my key chain, told me how to scan in and out, explained to me about purchasing a lock for a locker and left me be on my way. She didnt offer me the free shirt I was promised when I signed up, I had to ask her for it. I got no tour, no training on how to use any equipment or machines. Nothing... I was left standing there feeling very uncomfortable. I like to think that I am a person of average intelligence, but most of these machines I am clueless about. A 5 minute tour would have been helpful, any kind of explanation or guidance would have been greatly appreciated.

Wishing they had more equipment and was a little bit more opened. Need one or two more bench presses. Only have a certain amount of time in my schedule to get their and waiting on a machine doesnt cut it. Been thinking a lot lately about changing to Anytime fitness because of not being open on the holidays or 24/7 weekends. When not having a family to spend with on holidays, and having nothing to do. Wishing i could go to planet fitness but cant because there closed. Frustrating.

You don’t have to wear a mask while On a machine however i always wear it when entering/exiting a machine

I was not impressed. They have lots of equipment but most of it not what I need. I also didnt like the fact that they had paper towels for wiping down equipped. I suppose if youre young the place would be fine for you.

I love this place! Its perfect for people like me who work 2nd shift and prefer to workout after work. Ive tried to sign up for other 24 hour gyms but the only times they were staffed I was working. So planet fitness always being staffed is a huge plus. The staff is very nice and helpful.

I use Planet Fitness mainly for cardio and with the black card services I am able to use additional services. I am pleased with the attention of the desk clerks and their eagerness to serve me.

Very quick service and the front desk, love that I can go on my break at work and get a good 45 minute workout, just started my weight loss journey an boy it will be a journey so i have been very appreciative of the help and support i have received so far.

Great place to work out been to some that are over crowded. Love their big screen TV selection but their corporate office keeps removing the Fox News channel while leaving CNN untouched. Even the staffers are perplexed by this.

This place is excellent, especially for the price/hours/beds they have. People with negative reviews expect a staff member to hold their hands and show them the 100+ pieces of equipment? Just ask them, or simply look at the directions that every machine has posted on how to do the movement..

I have been going to Planet Fitness in Dubuque for over a year now and I can’t say enough about how great the staff here are. From the moment I walk in the door to the moment I leave, I am welcomed with a smile and greeted by my name. I take as many classes a week that time will allow, Amanda is the trainer and she is absolutely amazing! She cares about each and every one of the people she trains and she customizes each class for the individuals in class. She goes above and beyond and she is full of energy, she is positive and keeps you focused, she is more than you would expect from a trainer! You can’t find a better place in Dubuque for the money and the customer service is far beyond any other gym I have ever been too! Thank you Dubuque Planet Fitness, you have changed my life!!

Dont expect to workout hard here without being judged by the we dont judge people. Nice gym otherwise. No free weights other than dumbbells (and they only go the 75lbs)

Just like every planet fitness I have been to, this one is staffed with super friendly people. The gym itself is clean, with no odors. Their hours are bit goofy on the weekend, but it isnt a big deal.

For dubuque and the price you can beat! They need more room to stretch.

Misleading promotions. Join at a monthly rate but there is also an annual fee charged. Front desk staff is rude most of the time. Shower curtains ripped, barely close and with mold growing on them -- its disgusting. They serve candy at the front desk!! ... Seriously, folks you cant make this stuff up. I thought the idea behind a gym is to promote good and healthy habits!?

Great Little Gym, prices are perfect, they have a nice tanning area, the water massage chairs are amazing and it is fairly easy to navigate with my wheels.

It’s a nice little gym and most of the staff are pretty helpful and kind. The only concern and negative expirence I have is a certain staff member with a beard that is almost always rude and promotes the complete Opposite of the planet fitness policy. He walks around occasionally lifting and grunting loudly and flexing his muscles and doesn’t even concern himself with the guests. On multiple occasions I have seen him back lash customers and guests, and seems to start arguements with them and criticizes them. He does this, Even with the younger kids and teenagers that go there to workout. I’m considering finding another gym with a more friendly nonjudgmental atmosphere and environment. I’m just really confused and upset as to why planet fitness hires such unfit rude people with the policy they try to promote. Hopefully this can be fixed ):

I pay 20 dollars a month to go into the gym at ANY time that I please. At the Dubuque, Iowa Location, a young man by the name of Brandon locks the doors 30 minutes to an hour early so as to make sure no one else can come in for a quick workout. For a gym that is promoting health and no judgement, that is ridiculous. This has happened multiple times.The same young man turns the televisions off an hour early.He also tells women they are a little too heavy to workout on certain equipment. The establishment should be ASHAMED of themselves.

Came by Saturday to get a quick round of cardio in and found the door locked at 630. Hours are 7 on weekends. Called and got Brandon who took 5 minutes to come and let us in. He didnt unlock the door. When asked about the locked door he got snotty and said he closed in 15 minutes. I asked how that warranted locking up half an hour early and hw said he didnt know that I was his boss. 20 a month for 5 of us and you get treated like you are a piece of trash. Not the first time I have been treated rudely by staff. I am sure I will get a standard we at planet fitness answer.

Normal gym price, but very welcoming place to work out regardless of previous experience. Lots of helpful and friendly faces
