Fantastic experience and service. I made an appointment and was in a chair very quickly as I arrived. Abby (I hope I spelled it right) was very professional and made me feel comfortable. Her experience showed in my haircut as I have rarely found people that know how to cut curly hair. Also styled my beard and used the straight razor expertly. Overall great experience would recommend even for those with extra curly hair like mine. I will definitely be back for my next cut!

Eric provided 1st class service for my son and I. He have my son his first haircut at 21 months and made him feel comfortable and did an excellent job! He really listens to his customers and does exactly what they want, which can be rare when ur trying to find a good hair stylist or barber. He was friendly and paid attention to what I was telling him. Highly reccomend!

The last haircut I got here was legitimately the best haircut Ive ever had. In addition to being reasonably priced. Ive had the same girl the last 2 times (her name escapes me at the moment because Im bad with names) and when I walked in she remembered my haircut exactly correctly. This is my new go to spot for sure.

Takes walk ins but convenience of booking online appts is tight and on point. Shop capably handles high volume but value is in its barbers providing life/care/personality/craft to the fold. Conveniently placed across from dg train station. Has cubby area to wait your turn, can be cramped when busy, but adds to the esthetic of being in a barber shop, as the theme and seats reflect.

Paid 45 dollars for a haircut and beard trim with tip. Different lengths in my hair on a clipper guard under cut. Neck wasnt shaven. Everything was lopsided. Enjoy your money. If I did my job as poorly as the service I paid for Id never have a job. Had to pay someone else to fix it. Stay away from this place.

Just recently moved to Downers Grove and was looking for a place to get a haircut and style close to home. I walked into this place and was seated immediately by Amy. We talked about what type of cut I wanted and she began to go to work. By the time she was done I was left beyond satisfied and happy. Awesome place with an awesome feel to it, I will definitely be back.

Clean, sharp and friendly neighborhood barber, both the cut and the shop. Full service, quick, knowledgeable and skilled, everybody looked great coming out. Reasonable prices, i think it was $18 for mens cut.

I dont usually like my haircut on the first day, but this was different! I walked in, unsure of what I wanted to do with my hair, so I asked Jonathan to do what he thought would be best. It turned out better than any haircut Ive ever gotten and couldnt be more satisfied! Price was great and even included a neck shave! THANKS!

Great service, excellent cut. I came here after I had enough of the vertical black and white stripes on Ogden and 75th butchering my hair. This placed fixed it and earned a new customer.

My Barber was closed a few years back door a week and I ended up trying Mackhard out. Now, the majority of my haircuts are done here. Some of the staff has rotated out but theyve all been friendly and have done a great job!

My barber was inexperienced. Sleeve tattoos on doesnt make you a good barber. I will never go there again. I give it a year before they shut down unless they start cutting hair with confidence.

I get my hair cut by Mark, I have been served by each of the barbers there and they are all worth their salt. Good place to get service, they lack 5 stars though as they have a limited amount of hair products to suggest.

Very few barbershops of this quality are open on Sundays. Was nice to find some place that did straight razor on a Sunday

Went in for an appointment for and got a haircut. Ended up upgrading and getting a straight shave as well. Staff was super friendly and very outgoing, and it was nice that you actually look out toward the train tracks rather than staring at yourself in a mirror the entire time. The old timey feel was a vast improvement over greatclips. I have to be truthful though, the cut...wasnt even, and the shave? felt smoothish running my hand straight down my neck, but side to side? Felt like sandpaper. I thought a straight razer shave was supposed to be the closest and cleanest shave youll ever get? My executive Dollar Shave Club razors get me smooth in all directions with no hassle. I ended up having to do a makeshift trim on the top of my hair the following day (when I noticed it wasnt even) so that way when i styled it didnt look off kilter. Again, nice staff, great storefront, and a pleasant cutting experience, but for $48 plus tip for cut and shave that Im not all the impressed with? Will keep searching for that true gem.

Been going to Mackhard barbershop for two years now and will never go anyplace else. It has the classic barbershop feel with modern decor and always friendly service. When you walk in you are acknowledged with friendliness and they make you feel like family. As fas a quality of haircut goes, Ive had several of their professional cut my hair and they all done a fantastic job. Mackhard also offers a line of mens care products that are second to none, I made the switch several months back to their products and I will never go back to the others again. Mackhard is your only option for haircuts and mens products, you will never need to go elsewhere ever again. Abby did a great for me again today, you should ask for her next time you are here.
