When I made my first appointment for a new therapist, six years after my last regular session, I had high expectations. I imagined feeling comfortable right off the bat like I did with that first therapist. But this wasn’t how it went at all. I was assigned to Cara Kelley and I was discussing issues Im having with my partner. Her unsolicited advice was wildly inappropriate and degrading. I was completely shocked that a professional would suggest that I owe intercourse to my partner or he could violate our children.Clearly she views my body as a form of currency I should be negotiating my happiness and the health of my family with.Perhaps this therapist faced such issues of her own. Or, Ms Kelley may identify motivations and intentions based on her life experiences. Regardless, that is not OK. They shouldn’t be making the session about their personal opinions or projecting their own issues onto their clients lives. This is CODE RED for avoid this therapist. Be warned. Its sad to say but this therapist does not have your best interest in mind as a client. I really suggest anyone in a serious state of mental vulnerability avoid this therapist. Her ethical and moral compass are VERY off. No client should ever tolerate this sort of behavior from a mental healthcare provider.
