Terrible staff, unfair policies
Well Im a little disturb by how quick they will kick someone out who is maintaining sobriety, working all the time goes to meetings every day because they missed a chore. That is insane. But drop dirty and its all ok you can stay. Policy are wrong.
I was sent there back in 2013, after having completed Mecca which is also in Des Moines. I do unfortunately get kicked out for abusing my drug of choice (cold medicine) but the way they let me go was kind of blunt....like, here you go, you have to leave you have two hours to pack get out, heres a list of some homeless shelters around here (I am from Burlington, about 3.5 hours away). There was other known drug use in the house at the time from other girls unfortunately, K2, Meth, Crack, shoplifting even. Just a lot of sad and ugly behaviors going on all at the same time. When I did get kicked out after being there for about two months, I thought Thank God!. I hope things have gotten better there, but it depends on the compassion of the staff and the positivity of all of the clients. Hope its better than when I was there.....
Thanks for saving my life!
Great place
