Solid equipment if you can ever actually get on it. A few were rundown but otherwise fine. Just make sure you come during very low traffic times or be prepared to not get a solid work out nearly as quickly/efficiently as you could elsewhere.

I absolutely love this place!! Cory is an amazing manager, hes the boss! Hes super sweet and goofy at the same time! Hes great at explaining things you just have to ASK the right questions! He always has the answers.Just remember that all the employees are doing their job, policy is policy and I respect it. Keep up the great work! 😁

Had no transportation and called in to cancel membership inly to find out you can inly do it in person. Never had this issue with other gyms.

This gym is cheap. Which exactly why you would come here. Equipment broken for months and members are not orientated at all so they lack good gym etiquette and sit on a piece of equipment for 5 minutes at a time while they look at a workout video! This is not a place I would recommend if you are serious about your workouts.

Normally I wouldnt take photos in the locker room but I was the only one in there and it was a mess. It was a mess when I arrived and still a mess when I left 1.5 hrs later.The staff was mildly polite, at best. One staff member was sitting on a stool looking on her phone every time I saw her. When I asked a question she looked annoyed.The tanning room wasnt very clean. When I asked the staff member where the spray was to wipe down the bed she said they take care of it. But it seemed greasy when I touched it, so I wiped it down with a paper towel.It was hot inside, which surprised me because usually PF is cold inside. But the shower was ice cold, so theres that to look forward to. 😳 I was the only one in the ladies locker room showering so I dont know why it was so cold.Im just traveling through but I had chosen a different location. This one needs some serious attention.

I love this gym. Theres a great variety of equipment and its very spacious. You have plenty of room to work out how you want to. Friendly & helpful staff.

TRAP. Dont sign up online because then you dont get to choose your home gym. Also only way to cancel membership is in person, at only your home gym (which I had to drive 30 minutes for, you also cant change it) or send a letter. I was a day after the 10th and theyre taking my money for next month and I dont get to use the last month. They are greedy and will steal your money with no remorse.

This place was packed when I went and could not see any covid-19 precautions implemented, was kinda surprised to see this from such a large establishment. Other gyms I have been to definitely are doing a better job at this.

Today was my first day at the gym and it was a great experience! I specifically want to shout out Mack, as she helped me with anything and everything I asked! She was extremely professional and knowledgeable! She was so kind and made me feel so welcome; I look forward to seeing her at the front desk! As a first time gym goer - I would highly recommend!

Wont cancel your membership unless you come into the building physically or send a letter but they say you can cancel at anytime. I didnt have to come in the building to start the membership so why would they force you to come in the cancel especially during this crisis. Manager Cory is a true donkey! He was rude and did not care one bit about my concern.

This gym was absolutely excellent! Forrest and his staff were so friendly and helpful. The facilities were immaculately clean and in wonderful condition. All machines operated as they should and everything was so clean and sanitary. The staff went above and beyond to help me with everything I needed and any questions I had. This will now be my favorite gym because of the staff and how they kept the facilities.

I really enjoy working out here. As far as fitness it has been great! Staff has been mostly enjoyable to interact with, and it is a great atmosphere! However, I have the black membership and at first LOVED having the access to tanning. But, since Ive started a little over a year ago they decided to change rules about tanning that seem pretty cheap if you ask me. They have one tanning bed that is newer and larger which leaves me with fewer tan lines, it also has some pretty nice features that the others do not have (as well as newer bulbs and an overall better tan). I have always requested that bed for this reason. When I requested this bed a few months back I was told that bed is not allowed to be used for the maximum time of 12 minutes anymore, only 8 minutes and under. Since I have seen all of the regular people who have base tans use this bed and request it regularly for the full time, I can only assume it was done to keep people from using the nicer of the tanning beds. Which brings me to why I use the word cheap, because even the newer tanning bed is still the lowest grade compared to an actual tanning salon. Which would cost me $10 a month to use at the tanning salon and I pay that to PF to use theirs. All the other beds are old, outdated, and much smaller! Either upgrade the beds or stop putting petty rules on the only good bed you all have. I also found it misleading that the only tanning bed you all have pictured on your website is the newer one, but again you are restricting the use of only THAT bed! I have stopped tanning and am considering either switching gyms (most likely what I will do since it is very inconvenient to travel from place to place when others offer what I am looking for in one stop), or will be downgrading my membership and tanning at the salon. Please upgrade your beds and stop making rules that make the gym seem petty and cheap. I get its the cheapest gym around but dont make it see as if you all offer things you actually do not or restrict something based on not wanting to upgrade.

I went in. Saw 2 people not wipe off their equipment and told staff about it and they did nothing about it. I actually want to cancel my membership due to this and would like to talk to management. This is absolutely unacceptable! I am disgusted and not ok with how things were treated.

Great place to work out. Inexpensive and convenient. Staff are extremely friendly. General manager there will work with you to accommodate you any way he can. Especially for people like me who have suddenly fallen on hard times.

Wow! I already loved this location! However, ever since Forrest became the manager at this one, holy cow it has gotten even better! It’s so clean, smells like daisies. I hate gyms that smell like sweat and tears. This place makes me feel like I’m walking down a perfume section of a department store but not as overwhelming! It’s just nice, ya know? Truly a zero judgment zone! I walked in with my Nickelback T-shirt (my fav workout shirt) and no one judged me!! The staff is super friendly and helpful with any questions I have. Doesn’t have a bunch of meatheads grunting and taking up all the time at the weights. The staff is constantly sanitizing all the equipment and keeping everything pristine. I’d be comfortable eating my protein snacks off the benches here. Everyone respects the social distancing and wears mask!! -highly recommend!!

Loving the new equipment and the staff. There is definitely a different feel to the place. I am...till this day...I have been a member for about 7 years now...do not understand why the hours are so short on the weekends and then does not open till 5Am on Monday morning. Most PFs are 24 hours 7 days a week. It puts a damper on people that cannot workout until later in the evening.

Nice staff and good workout facility but I’ve been to planet fitness’ all over the country and the showers at this one were by far the worst I’ve ever encountered. They were sticky and obviously never maintained (was thankful i brought my sandals). I travel for work and somewhat rely on the showers at planet fitness which are always usually decent to good. If you’re just going to work out it’s a fine place but if you intend on using a shower I would take the extra time to drive to a different location.

The staff here is polite and professional. A wide variety of equipment to use, new rowing machines recently added. It can be tough to find an unoccupied treadmill between 4-6pm. There is a good group of regulars but there are also plenty of people that dont wipe down the machines after use which is not only gross but against the rules.

I sent a letter to them four months ago to cancel my membership they never canceled my membership continued charging me even when they were closed for covid-19 I will never get another planet fitness membership again they specialize in ripping you off especially with their so-called annual fee which for some reason they charge you within the first two months of you getting the membership then they charge you again in April or May of the next year so if you got a membership in September you would get charged an annual fee then youd get charged an annual fee in April or May which equals two annual fees for one year annual means yearly not whenever they feel like it

The gym is good, staff is nice but there is literally no hot water, even in the middle of the night when it isnt busy. Forget washing your hair, itll be icy by the time you wash and rinse off, let alone shampoo. The showers are gross, there arent hair dryers like almost every other Planet Fitness, the showers are broken and hanging off, the hooks are broken, water all over the floor made me slip and almost fall on the tile. Did mention the absolute lack of even warm water? The owner seems keen to reply to every bad review saying things will improve but if you look back through, there are the same complaints over and over.

I have changed my angry view of this planet fitness because I believe I was treated unfairly concerning the cancelation and billing practices. The management and regional management have not worked with me in fairness the to resolve that issue. I would not recommend this planet fitness.

Around 5 of the TVs were unwatchable because the image was completely scrambled. The working TVs had an unnatural and distracting blue tint. I wont describe the one toilet I looked at, but it smelled bad. I went into one shower stall and saw it was missing a shower head, so water shot out of it like a faucet at an angle. I moved on to the next shower stall and saw the white surface was covered in brown dirt. I found two bugs in there, and the shower drain was not attached to the ground. There was trash on the floor throughout the lockerroom.Ive been to several Planet Fitness locations in different states, and they had always gotten solid 5 star reviews from me. I dont know why this location is different, but something is not right here.

Just a warning for people who use this planet fitness on SE 14th. There is someone going around recording people in the bathroom stalls in the locker rooms.I am saying this because I was in the mens locker room stall doing my business when suddenly I see a cellphone pointed at me sticking out from the top of the stall door I looked up and whoever was recording stopped and left. Unfortunately I was not able to get a detailed description of who this person was but I want people to be aware that someone is going around doing this, so be on the lookout and report anything at all that you see suspicious.If this happens to you please report it ASAP this person should not be allowed to keep using the gym.

Visiting from Chicago, Brandon was a great host. Gym wasnt too packed and was able to get in some great workouts. This is gym is large and all the equipment was functional. Will come again...

After receiving an email stating billing will not start until mid June planet fitness started repeatedly charging my card the day they reopened. They gave 0 notice, not even a call. When I called about the issue they said they dont offer refunds. This is a joke of a business. I cant even go in due to my auto immune disorder.

Their advertising is absolutely spot-on. The equipment, atmosphere and price are all on point for those un-hardcore, uncompetitive un-CrossFit types like me who are in it to get and stay healthy and fit.

Great place to get your sweat on. Lots of equipment to use. Only negative are the bathrooms(mens, at least) - stalls are regularly out of TP, paper towels are scarce, and I see a lot of stuff on the floors that is probably bodily fluids. But honestly, for the price, Im willing to overlook the bathroom situation.

Lots of space, lots of free weights ans machines, 4 Smith machines, nice staff all around its pretty aight

Water fountain is always less than good cool water, so of course, even though its a cheap fix, I have to pay a buck for cold water from you guys. Also I absolutely hate people who have to sit on a machine you want to use to get their jam on....MOVE IT!

So I usually work out at the Ankeny one, but they dont open until 5am on Mondays. So i looked this one up and it said it was open online, yet when i drove there, it was nice and closed. Should probably fix those online hours so people dont waste their time.

Great place to get a good workout in. Hours of business makes it great to get in day or night. With plenty of machines it makes it easy to get in and out. Plus for the price you can’t beat it.

Got my wallet stolen from this place out of my pants from inside my backpack in a locker. Called the police and filed a report since the club was no help. This was late in the afternoon on a Friday when not a lot of people were in there. Need to be more diligent on whos coming in there to workout and who is coming in there to steal. Facility is just okay, but some wear and tear needs to be looked into on some machines. Find another workout facility where you dont have to worry about having your stuff stolen.

Ive been a member for over a year..the staff is very helpful and friendly..I normally go by my self and Im not self conscious about it..the lo ker room could use a little more attention but overall its great.

Place is terrible. Machines dirty, floor dirty, staff is never friendly, and the manager Matt Smalley the general manager is rude and always has an attitude. I cancelled my membership after two weeks. Stay away from this PF, this is the worst one ive ever been too.

Felt like we were inconveniencing the staff for assistance and questions we had. Already a member, we wanted to get a membership for my husband also. The young lady claiming to be in training, was very short and lacked courtesy when asked questions. Didnt know how to ask the other gentlemen to help her explain anything. Although they seemed to run from the counter when clients approached it.

Lots of cardio machines. Moderate amount of strength machines. Not a lot of free weights. Great place for the price to start getting in shape. Down one star for the mens locker room being dirty a lot.

Really need a sign saying u cant tan after a certain time, if youre open til 7pm u should be able to tan til 645 or 7. If someone drives to use the facilities they pay for and are turned away it kinda sucks. Just a suggestion, if u wanna put a sign that says no checking in to tan after 645 that would be nice. Turned away at 640 is a little irritating. Other than that good for price.

Did not have a good experience with this gym. In order to cancel my membership they sent me to three different gyms and the end just had me send a letter to my gym in Missouri. Their cancellation policy is set up for you not to be able to cancel easley and keep paying your monthly premiums

Staff - Friendly.Equipment - Built to suit any need you would want to excercise.Billing - A gigantic issue. They NEVER charge you on time, its usually early (when your account isnt ready to accept the charge) so you get overdrafted because youre in between paydays. Or its late, unexpectedly. Annual fees are a joke, its not an Annual fee if youre charged within 2 months of opening a contract. Thats more of a service fee. They dont explain well enough when youre signing the contract, its in there, but it wasnt explained well to me therefore I was not expecting it. Needless to say I RECCOMEND NOT GETTING A CONTRACT HERE. If you hope to cancel (Which I am this Friday, and it will cost over $100) you better be paid up to date, and not cancel your card as its stated in the contract that you authorize them to obtain any new card information to get their money. Dont waste your money here, youre better off ANYWHERE else.Recap! They dont bill on time, they LOVE to bill early (theyve never withdrawn any of my fees on the due date, its usually been a week early). They make more money that way on overdraft fees, and still get paid for the membership fee. Ive paid more in overdraft fees from them billing me before the due date, then I have paid them for being a member. Dont come here, go anywhere else.And planet fitness, this ones for you since i notice you like to respond to negative comments.... To protect your public image; When can I expect reimbursements for your early charges resulting in overdraft fees? You pay me back my $125 in fees, Ill give you a more positive review!

I travel all over and to see this Planet fitness out of order with workers on the phone the whole time I workout wasnt professional and to see the nasty showers not tended to way out of order and smell wasnt pleasant in the mens locker room as i was very saddened this Planet fitness needs motivated workers not human phone holders
