This work was a routine oil change and service and, as usual, the work was done promptly and professionally.I have sent many of my friends and colleagues to Scotts and will continue to do so. Experienced mechanical breakdown of alternator while on a return to Idaho. Needed to be in Mitchell, SD that evening to prevent major delays and problems. The service team was able to diagnose the problem, get the part and install an alternator before closing enabling me to get to Mitchell before eleven o’clock and eventually to Rathdrum, ID. An overnight delay would have meant missing my granddaughter’s and wife’s birthday dinner with family traveling from Tennessee. I cannot overstate my gratitude to the excellent customer service of the caring staff. They are special!!

Im grateful to have found Scotts Automotive when I moved back to Des Moines17 years ago. Wow, its been that long! I recommend Scotts to everyone who asks where I get my truck serviced at. Great communication explaining any work that needs to be done and what can be watched for repairs at a later time. We have been using Scotts Automotive since the mid 2000s. He is honest, upfront and does what needs to be done. You dont find that many shops like this. I have sent friends there and he has always beat another shops estimate or indicated some of the work suggested wasnt needed. It is refreshing to have someone you can put your trust in that they will do a good job and charge you a fair price.

They are always friendly and easy to work with. Doesnt take them long to change oil. Bathroom and place in general is always clean and kept up. They have beverages while you are waiting. Ive recommended to family members and would recommend if ppl asked for a good place for service.

Id been without a vehicle for a bit. When Covid hit I lost my car. However prior to my last visit I always took my car to Scotts for service. They were professional and always seemed to have my best interests in mind. I dont mean cutting corners but if they found a way for me to save some money they always let me know. Some shops are in it more for their top dollar rather than the customer but Scotts does not do business that way. Well here it is 2021 and I have a car again. It is a used one and I have a running list of what needs done on it. Scotts was the first shop I called. I had the headlights replaced and also had to replace the key fob. Scotts stepped up to the challenges and I am very happy with their work. I intend to be a customer of theirs for good.

I was told by another shop I needed a thousand dollars or more work on my car. I told this to Jason and also told him I had x amount to send because I am on Social Security. He called me within a couple hours and said all I needed was new tires and then called because I had a couple lug nuts stripped. He told me that it would be a little over the price we had talked about. We laughed and joked on every call. My only regret was he wasnt there when I picked up my car. I will make a point to go meet him. He was amazing

GREAT service and they do not try to scam nor upsell you in any way. At normal oil change places (such as Valvoline) you typically get the elaborate speech of them checking everything in front of you and asking if you want to replace it... Scott’s automotive does not do that and only mentions things that actually look like they need repairing to your attention.Overall the staff are very friendly and professional and I would highly recommend anyone going here for all of their car needs!

Very friendly and extremely professional! Our car developed engine trouble while passing through Des Moines. I called a few places that couldnt take a look at the vehicle until the next day. Scotts Automotive said they were also very busy, but told us to stop by anyway and they would take a look to see if the issue was serious. Two hours later, we were back on the road! I will not take my Car anywhere else but scotts! Took my 2014 Dodge Dart in to get the clutch replaced knowing it would be a tough job as other shops wouldnt even put their hands on it. But no problem for Scotts. Not only did they get it done in less time than expected but the clutch is absolute butter! Very happy with the customer service and communication I was given as well. I started taking my vehicles to Scotts after my dad recommended them. He had been going there for many years too, even before the place was called Scotts. Ive had nothing but good experiences so far. Ive never felt like I didnt have a handle on what work was being done, and the bottom line was never a shock.No fooling around, no surprise charges, and nothing but good work from these folks. Im so thankful that I took my car here. After taking my car to a national repair shop chain and receiving an estimate for over $1300 in repairs, I was referred to Scotts Automotive by a family member. The mechanics performed a thorough inspection of my car and concluded that I didnt even need the other repairs that were recommended by the national chain. In fact, some of the parts that the national chain wanted to replace were fairly new! Scott recommend a course of action that solved my actual problem and I was back on the road for less than $150 - a savings of over $1150! Do what I did. Take your car to Scotts. Its worth a 2nd opinion. They are honest, trustworthy and I can recommend them with confidence.

Honest mechanic. Ive yet to see Scott recommend unnecessary service to a car, and when prompted hell occasionally even recommend against it.Another thing I like about Scotts is that all service work is described in prose form on the receipt. It describes the diagnostics performed, the problems found, the troubleshooting efforts attempted, and actions recommended for the future.

Shop is clean and inviting. Staff was friendly and knowledgable. I had a great experience and would recommend this repair shop to everyone.

Scotts automotive is a place we trust to have our vehicles serviced. Especially my wifes car as theyve caught issues before becoming a problem.

I traveled out to Des Moines for work (Im from the Quad Cities) and about 30 minutes from Des Moines, my car started acting up and the lights were dimming. I was able to make it to my place of testing and it was early in the morning, I searched for auto places that could look at my car and found Scotts Automotive near by. I called them and they were very understanding and even had a car service that took me back to my test so they could look my jeep over while I completed the test. They then picked me back up and told me what the problems could be (the problem was coming and going so the computer couldnt pick it up). They were very honest and recharged my battery since the problem seemed to be draining it. They did this all out of kindness and refused to let me pay since they didnt do any mechanic work. Their help was needed at a time of complete stress for me and I was so grateful. They even went above and beyond by giving me the name of a friend in Iowa City who could charge my battery if it got low during the trip back to the Quad Cities. I was blessed to have Scotts Automotive on my trip!
