This place is in Decline! Ever since Metro Properties under the disguise of Kenwood LLC took over. Long-term resident who has noticed the hallways are filthy, parents are not watching their children and they tear up the place and management does nothing but text idle threats. The office personnel cannot keep paperwork straight, We have been threatened, and unduly charged, well tried several times over our having to have insurance, which we do, and has been sent to them by the company once and hand delivered three other times in an 18 month period. Because of Disability we are looking to leave and would not recommend this place to anyone. It used to be a pretty nice place to live, but not any longer!!!!!
Travis was very helpful and professional. He had very good customer service. The place is nice clean and quite. I would recommend this place. Thank you so much Travis youre awesome.
Travis helped me obtain a two bedroom 1 1/2 bath. He was very hands-on, very awesome and even now since I’ve moved in he’s hands on and very very prompt. I appreciate Travis, the apartments themselves need some work but Travis is on it!!
Love my 2 bedrooms 2 bath layout for my cousin! Stephanie is awesome. She was flexible with my schedule and made me feel comfortable since it’s her first apartment on her own. Good layouts pretty spacious, for a decent price. So far the community and neighbors are decent. Really diverse and lots of kids. Either way she sticks to herself. Thank you Stephanie I truly enjoyed your personality and help!
Ive lived here 14 years and never have had great management. Travis takes care of your needs. You need more managers like Travis. 10 stars 🌟 for him.
Went completely downhill once there was a new landlord. No work orders completed. Drugs and fighting all the time. Kids running around the halls and parking lot unsupervised. Etc etc
They are not on top of anything peoples pipes have been breaking heaters are not working so it’s always 80+ degrees in my friends apartment there is a whole in their ceiling in the bathroom where they take showers so constantly taking showers with nasty water they have complained about it to the manager and maintenance and still have yet to have anything fixed there is never any parking spots because anybody can park in there people park in handicapped parking with no stickers have complained about bugs the pest people came but that was a month ago and haven’t been back since
110% love this place after Stephanie has taken over. She goes above and beyond her job to make sure I feel safe and comfortable even if it’s small things. I’ve been recommending my friends and I recommend all of you looking too! We are very very thankful for Steph and because she’s so attentive we will be renewing our lease!
The absolute only reason I am giving this a rating of 5 and why i am even still living there is because of the current manager Stephanie... She has done everything in her power to make Kenwood a safe clean and happy livable home for me and my family. Some of the tenants however do not care about how clean they live and throw garbage everywhere. Not all of them are disgusting but the ones that are make sure they over power people like myself and Stephanie whom are trying to makr Kenwood a better and cleaner place to live. So all i can say to new interested tenants is that our Manager Stephanie is doing everything she can to make this place look and feel great and she has the dedication to make it just that... It can only get better from here.
I have had nothing but trouble with Rosewood since I filled out my application on February 17 they knew I had a short period of time before I had no where to go and kept telling me they needed more info and they needed pay stubs from when my step mom started her job 9 years ago. All they do is give you the runaround when I called and asked for my application fee back she told me to come on Saturday but when I got there on Saturday she informed me it had been put in the bank and I needed to call and see if the manager could get it for me to this day they still have my application fee so if you don’t have to move in here please don’t
Very friendly service, manager was super flexible and did a showing on a weekend at 9pm. Still looking around but I can tell this manager was super friendly and it felt natural! Need more professional people like her, felt she definitely deserved a review!!! Other places have been plain rude to me! Ex. SouthGlenn & Melbourne Apartments. Felt like they were rushing me.
This apartment is too bad, smelly. not at all maintained properly. Parking issues. cigarette/weed smell in hall ways. pathetic management. Not even worth looking if you are in search of apartments, waste of your time. Stay at your own risk.
Im a college student and the price was so affordable for my mother and I. The manager was supportive of my academics when I was struggling. The environment was quite especially for a college student whos studying to be a cosmetic surgeon. Now I transferred to UCLA for my doctors degree. Thanks Kenwood apartments!
This place was terrible. I lived here a couple years ago and left and ended up owing a whole bunch of money! The apartments also looked average! -5 stars
I applied but it didnt work out. I am still waiting to get my deposit back 5 months later. These people are awful at solving any issue and communicating effectively. I wouldnt recommend these apartments to anyone who can afford anything else.
Will definitely be applying soon!! My friend lives over at Kenwood II & she has the huge 2 BR 2 Bath layout! I visit her frequently all the time. The 3rd floor is nice I like it, her ceiling is very high. From what I’ve seen it’s got a laundry room on the 2nd floor that is electronic which I liked so far and it was nice and clean! ( 2 washers 2 dryers) really for what she’s paying and considering how big the bedrooms are I think it’s a good deal! I do only wish the parking lot was bigger, on weekends i tend to park in the street but again, i don’t live here. YET! hopefully! I have noticed there’s another building as well that has a bigger parking area and some garages. Will look into it. My friend is very clean but even with 3 kids I know it gets messy ar times. I’ve asked her if she’s ever had pest issues and she says the occasional stink bug from time to time and some spiders but nothing major either. She said pest control comes if you do have any concerns. Yes this apartment complex isn’t fancy like some places but for $750 my friend has a 2 br 2 bath that just has huge rooms I haven’t really seen anywhere else that doesn’t charge a arm and a leg. Nice affordable living, and surrounded by houses which I also like. Her kids share one room she has a triple bunk bed that fits perfectly and still has plenty of play space and space for furniture. Her room could fit a king really but she has a queen and her half bath with walk in closet which I LOVE. Hoping to get something similar!!
BEWARE!! BEWARE!! BEWARE!! Dont stay here (Kenwood/Rosewood) if you want peace of mind. Here are the reasons1- Its FILTHY DIRTY. You will find trash throughout the community. You will find dog poop and pee on walkways all the time.2- Hallway smells really bad all the time. Pathetic condition to stay.3- Mice is a really big issue here. They will eat your food if kept outside.4- People smoke and drink on the parking lot.5- Your packages will be stolen all the time if kept at the door. YES!! you have these kind of neighbors.6- Appliance, cup boards, drawers are really old and in bad condition.7- Management is very stubborn and will show there true picture when you want to move out. They say they need 30 days notice to move out but its actually a full calendar month notice which means if you give notice on 5th you cant move out until end of of next month which is almost 2 months notice. They will rip off money from your deposit by saying false things.8- Common washer and dryer will be out of order ALWAYS. You need to drive to outside coin laundry throughout the year. Its not worth staying here. I have made a big mistake and want to make you aware. There are better communities nearby with similar rent e.g. Somerset on SE 5th st. They are 100 times much better and secure community and worth your money. I have stayed in both and saying it from my experience.
This place is a joke, the goldmark employees here are not worth your time. I have been a resident here since 2013, we have had to deal with so much disappointment after moving in, it has become pathetic. Maintenance is just horrible to deal with, I have put in requests, for months on mice infestions, electrical connectors replacements, holes in my walls (from the mice) etc. It would be best to go looking at other places to rent.
Have had a mice problem since December and they have still not done anything to fully stop it. They send who is supposed to be their pest control over and the person walks around my apartment, makes an excuse for the mice and then leaves. Which wakes me up when Im sleeping, just to waste my time.
Sighs Read the past reviews and now i know why SEction 8 may not be paying rent on existing tenants. as the lady told me on the phone today 3-4-19 section 8 had not paid them in months.. Because of that Sadly they are not taking Vouchers at this time unless you were already on the waiting list? Oh well there loss.
**Just got a call from the apartment since my review was posted to see what could be improved. To be fair, I thought I should update my review to be much more detailed. This place is not bad. No apartment is perfect, but had a few problems with my Kenwood section specifically. Ill start with the worst: Parking was HORRIBLE, as in, lines are faded greatly and therefore parking was a free style sort of cluster. If you get back later at night, expect to park in the street or even the grass. Even on parts where the lines were visible, IE the handicapped person that has a spot next to the main entrance, he would ALWAYS park crooked AWAY from the ramp side, causing a chain reaction for the rest of the lot. Nothing done about it. With laundry, the clothes never felt really clean.I also witnessed a shooting, no clue on the details, nobody even got hurt luckily. But to be fair, this happens even in Pleasant Hill, and well, pretty much everywhere in Iowa every now and then. This area is not the ghetto like Drake area, where much more incidents occur (just this year for example, double homicide that I just heard of.) I did notice a lot of kids from the house across the street visiting a lot and causing trouble. A neighbor told me they would mess with the cars when they think nobody was watching. There is a security guard that patrols these apartments, but it is very rare to catch him and I didnt know about it until he pulled in near the end of my lease, so almost useless.Maintenance didnt exactly run to fix any issues Ive had, but who ever has? They are usually a small team if even a team, and have many issues to fix.The AC unit in my apt was not sealed well so hot air would leak back in, and was LOUD. No problem for me, just duct taped it haha.Garages also had just enough room for my truck, barely. For $50, compared to $40 I pay now for about the same space, doesnt seem fair. But if its for storage, the low price of rent itself makes up for it. Also, from the start, the first day I rented a garage it was broken and would not open, maintenance had to fix it while I waited outside for them, didnt take too long about an hour.On to the PROS: balcony had a good view where I was at, nothing too special. Prices are low (as of 2014). This is the first apartment I got my deposit back! Aside from the carpet cleaning charge, of course. I took care of the place as usual, but they were fair about the deposit. Working with Monica was great, she seemed to care about her job and residents! I believe they just transitioned to different management, so cant update current ones, if they are anything like Monica you should be fine.I know I wrote more CONS than PROS. But I was in the military the last 8 years as of this apartment, mostly active duty living off post, so Ive lived in many apartments. This is FAR from the worst Ive lived in to be honest (worst experience was El Paso). At least some of the workers said Kenwood was the better of the apartment sections, so Id go for that one if possible. The main office apartment seemed more cramped. If they fixed these CONS, which Ive passed down to management themselves, it can be more decent of a place to live if youre looking for long term.
Been waiting three days for a response from a property manager. No response after several messages left to call back asap/immeadeately. This place also isnt really on top of repairs. Maybe a bad review will get a response finally
I havent had any problems Just Waiting on repairs . Great Price!!;)
This place is fine for a family and it is not expensive. Thank you.
